Stewarts
As my header says, why does roulette exist if there it is impossible to beat. I have struggled with this question for sometime now. I am sure there is a way to beat that damn wheel but have not yet found the way. Is it possible to beat the wheel ?
ArtMaster
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it It exists to make casinos millions upon millions of dollars from susceptible gamblers who believe the wheel can be beaten with a system! It is simple mathematics which explains the reason why the house always wins, the same as with the rest of the array of casino games with their flashing lights and promises of vast fortunes. staffy
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it On the other hand its a good laugh on a night out and there is a chance you will win now and again. Its like anything you can win short run but never long run.
AJ
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it The better question of course is, why would roulette exisit if it could be beaten ? The only logical answer is that it wouldn't. It does; therefore it can't.
Lardonio
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it AJ got the best answer, but you could also ask yourself: Why does anything that serves no practical purpose but gives pleasure exist? It's entertainment. And it provides money for those who serve it.
skinnyman9000
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it If it was mathematically possible to beat it I'm sure the casinos would drop it sharpish. Theyre never going to offer a game that doesn't have a house edge
protop
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it Do you think that the majority of punters would still lose long term if they removed the Zeroes and made the game a fair one. I believe they would, what do you think?

Theyre never going to offer a game that doesn't have a house edge roulette can be beaten mathematically. but it doesnt involve the laws of probability, but mechanics instead. I believe they would' date=' what do you think?[/quote'] I agree that they would, because of poor money management and playing for the experience, not for the profit. Most sports gamblers lose money much faster than they 'should' according to the bookmaker's overround.
bacardirum
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it It exists because beleive it or not, most gamblers like in vegas etc have not got a system and are not trying to beat the game, sure they want to win, but for them its fun, they think nothing of throwing £1000 on it to land on #26, if it does fantastic if not they will throw another £1000 on something else, its just fun to them, thats why roulette exists. bacardirum
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it Try it, you can play on betfair without the zero on roulette. aliando
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it Try it' date=' you can play on betfair without the zero on roulette.[/quote'] but they take a % of your winnings, so it effectively replaces the
bacardirum
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it Ahh, you sure they take a % from casino, arcade and multiples. I thought it was only the actual markets when you bet against others they take the commission.

bacardirum
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it I am pretty much sure its commission free, they take cut from normal bets, as thats only way they can make money from it, but casino, multiples etc should operate just as a normal one would, as its you against them. trips
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it The question should be why people play Roulette when it cant be beat,if the casinos didnt win there would be no roulette.

In the time it takes a football match to finish, you could realistically have had 90 spins of a roulette wheel. The money moves fast and I think that adds to the attraction for some people. AJ
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it roulette can be beaten mathematically. but it doesnt involve the laws of probability, but mechanics instead. Are you suggested spin bias due to wheel variation and dealer throw style ?
salford_student
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it Are you suggested spin bias due to wheel variation and dealer throw style ? no, but if you mention the position and speed of both the ball and the wheel, its possible to work out which sector of the wheel that the ball will land. people have come up with devices which are now banned, to be able to do this. Staines Passive
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it you're absolutely right. it's not fair. why would casinos invent a gambling game that's biased to themselves? doesn't make sense to me.:unsure
Sawyer
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it roulette is hard to beat. try craps (dice game). There's sharp shooters called "rythm rollers.."
Jase82
Re: Why does roulette exist if you cant beat it This is such a dumb question by the way. It's like asking why do shops exist.... They provide a service, and they're a business. End of. It's there because it generates lots of money.
