Need help on value betting

Recommended Posts

Good day everyone! I read a couple of articles on value betting and I am interested in this approach. I followed a thread posted earlier here "Football Rating" and wonder about the money management part. If you have a look at this website: http://www.valuechecker.co.uk/value/football/bets/#football/3364534/ne/ they provide users with, in their opinion, Value Bets. I do not know how they evaluate their picks, but lets say that I want to give it a try and bet the games. I am familar with money management on futures and stock markets, and have experience in arbitrage betting, but I kind of fail to see the money mangement part of value bettors. Lets say my unit size 1 = 10€. Will I adjust my stake according to the odds: (I came up with a little spreadsheet) Event - Odds - Pick - Stake - Net Win Sydney FC v Adelaide United - 2,55 - 2 - 10€/Odds of 2,55 - Net win 6,08€ etc. Can somebody please share their approach? I've seen a lot of systems etc. but the money management part is never really mentioned. I see often something like "I feel like betting 10€ on this match, but a) I don't want to "bet", I want to invest (there are no "feelings") b) 10€ on Real Madrid to beat FC Copenhagen does not give you the same return as betting 10€ on Karlsruhe to beat Bayern Munich Thanks for your help!

Sliven v Levski Sofia » Bulgaria » Bulgaria A PFG 2,01 U2,5 U2,5 9,90€ 19,90€ 10,00€
FC Inter v FC Haka » Finland » Finnish Veikkausliga 1,74 O2,5 O2,5 13,51€ 23,51€ 10,00€
Sydney FC v Adelaide United » Australia » Australia A League 2,55 2 2 6,45€ 16,45€ 10,00€
