Very interesting debate and fantastic write up. I have been punting since early 70s and don't have any system that I stick to other than "trends" but my biggest payouts over the years have been Lucky 15 50p=£7.50 biggest win £3.5k. I followed "Pricewise " RP from the 80s but now you can't get "early prices" any more and all the value has gone, so I look elsewhere.  I tend to look at "Value Bet" in Sporting life Matt Brocklebank but I have noticed that some of his selections on a Friday for Saturday racing drift in the betting ang you get that feeling was it a Value Bet? Anyway good luck with whatever works for you as Tom Segal quoted in his book "bet for fun"
