Re: NHL "Lockout" unfortunately I know absolutely nothing about European Ice Hockey Leagues, theres none shown on TV over here and I don't even think the results are printed in the papers. Normally 1 or 2 NHL games shown live on TV each week, but looks like thats not to be this year.

Re: ryder cup Europe 6.5 to 1.5 ahead after Day One, fantastic start. Europe will probably play the 3 players who havent played yet in tomorrow mornings fourballs,all rookies in Ryder Cup, so nerves may come into it a bit. Europe into 2/5 now so no value in backing at that price, still think they will win but will lay at 1.45 as I feel odds may lengthen after tomorrow morning session.

From Daily Telegraph today: "The NHL has been closed down after commissioner Gary Bettman announced a "lockout" of players. Talks between NHL clubs and their players have continually broken down over a proposed salary cap. The NHL lost $224m ( £124m) last season. Players earn around $1.83m (£1m) per year and according to Bettman take around 75% of overall revenue. He wants this reduced to less than 50%. Some players have already made contingency plans by signing with european clubs. With no end in sight in the stand-off which could see the cancellation of the entire season" Anyone know if theres any truth in this? or is it just paper talk?

Re: World Cup Qualifying Wednesday 8/09 Tulenos, Took your advice and avoided the Czechs ( had £10 on the Dutch to win at evens) Once Czechs get their players back from Injury, may be some value in them, certainly at home to the dutch following result tonight. Cheers for your info.

Re: Agassi Alien, Yes raining at moment. Looking at the Games betting on Paddy Power, they go 6/4 the match will have 35 games or less, but 1/2 Roddick to win 3-0 in sets. WIll have a small dabble on the 6/4 and hope Roddick gets it over with reasonably quickly.

Re: re 5/6 looks like decent odds to me, compared to the odds for a 3-0 sets victory. Can see this going a similar way to the Hewitt game earlier, tight first set and then the next 2 going 6-2-6-2 or similar to Roddick. Which bookie did you get this from?

Re: England first scorer... Best I can find for Lampard is 10s which is readily available. Gerrard available at 12s, (13.5/1 on Betfair) probably offers a reasonable alternative. Agree with you that Midfield offers decent opportunity of First Goalscorer. Anyone got any ideas who would take a penalty if we got one?

Re: World Cup Qualifying Wednesday 8/09 Czech seem overpriced at 3.75 against the Dutch. Czech had a reasonable Euro 2004, and have a good recent record against Holland. They were in the same qualifying group for Euro 2004, with Czech picking up a 1-1 draw away and a 3-2 victory at home. Will prob play safe and cover the draw.

Re: moving Had £20 on Lucky Story, managed to get 6.00 from Betfair just before the off, one of my favourite horses from last season, shame to see it get beaten by a nostril in what was a bloody good race this afternoon. Will certainly be one to look out for next time out.

Got 5/6 on Det to throw more points tonight on free throws than LA at Stan James. Am I missing something cos last game it was about 3/1 in favour of the home team?

Lakers/Detroit 3 Pointers Thanks for the info. Just spent 10 mins on phone to billy hills ( work computer wont let me do it on line!) but got bet placed eventually. Shaq must surely go over 25.5 tonight, after his performance in 1st game and Detroits apparent willingness to let him score and stop remainder of Lakers apart from Kobe. 5/6 at paddy Power looks good.

Re: Miami Under Canbet currently going 2.00 with Minni giving up 3.5 points, were only going 1.93 yesterday for the same spread. There doesn't appear to be any adverse injury news thats any different from weekend, is there any reason why the odds are drifting out a bit? Still appears to be worth a few quid, NO very hit and miss. Willing to risk Minni giving up more than 1 FG on this. Intrigued by the Teasers, and have taken 6pts giving: Minni +3, New England +2 Denver +4.5 Jets - 4 Philli -2 Pays 4.50 if all come in. Good luck whatever you do this weekend!j
