  1. I've discovered a way of betting on high odds but it's a bit of a slow way to make money. High odds often indicates small advantages, you rarely got a long winning-streak, etc. So, what is the best way to take care of your money while betting to win in the long run? I'm not a fan of advance-type of staking-plans or money-management. I often an excact amount of money every time I bet. What kind of a plan works for you and where lies the risk in the plan? NH

  2. Re: My new RATING-system WALSALL - Boston RATING: 1,13 Odds: 1,51 :wall Result: 1-1 Although Walsall did score 2 goals the result became 1-1. I don't think any system at all can predict an owngoal and it seem impossible to forecast such an event. Bad start for my improved RATING-system and I can only hope for better times to come. My profit so far: +0,98 units My picks for today: TWENTE - Den Haag RATING: 2,07 / 1,28 Odds: 1,30 :hope I'm a man with patience and even if my profit will go below 0,00 I do believe in the system as it gives me a better feeling of what to bet on. Sadly, I didn't go for Man Utd and AZ as I would've done, but I also believe that the improved system will minimize my losses as well. You don't have to follow my picks but I would be happy if you kept an eye on my posts and maybe wrote about your own viewe in this system. Mybe give me some hints about what factors I should rely on the most and which factors I shouldn't take into consideration at all. Tha factors I use in the system is those that applies in the league tables. I don't use form-stats in my system as I don't think it will make much difference on the outcome of the calculated RATINGS. Points, goals scored, goals conceeded, wins, draws and losses are factors I use. The hometeams homestats vs the awayteams awaystats. The problem here is that I don't take injuries, etc into consideration as it will only make the calculations even more complex as it already is. Anyway, good luck with todays pick.

  3. Re: My new RATING-system HEERENVEEN - Heracles RATING: 1,42 Odds: 1,38 :loon Result: 5-1 My profit so far: +1,98 units My picks for today: WALSALL - Boston RATING: 1,13 Odds: 1,51 :hope Only one pick as I'm trying out an improved version of my RATING-system. The improved version is based upon the original one but I'm hoping it would give me a more accurate RATING than before. Other picks that passed the original version of the RATING-system but not the improved one: MAN UTD - Portsmouth RATING (original version): 1,50 RATING (improved version: 0,78 AZ - Sparta RATING (original version): 1,11 RATING (improved version: 0,65 Normally I would bet on this matches but as I hope that the improved RATING-system will act as a filter to filter out the "accepted" matches from the original RATING-system, I find it hard to go against my idea. So, there will be only one bet for me today. If anyone wonder, the orignal RATING for WALSALL is 1,84. As the pick was filtered through the improved RATING-system the RATING dropped down to 1,13. Still, I only bet if the RATING is greater than 1,00. Good luck! (And let MAN UTD win today as I'm an dedicated supporter who was the first one ever to get my son baptised in the church wearing a MAN UTD outfit... Sadly my son (who's now 4 years old) have learned the bad word "Liverpool".... Talking 'bout irony....)

  4. Re: My new RATING-system YEOVIL - Brentford RATING: 1,19 Odds: 1,63 :loon Result: 1-0 PORTSMOUTH - Charlton RATING: 1,19 Odds: 1,58 :wall Result: 0-1 My profit so far: +2,6 units. Tonights pick: LYON - Bordeaux RATING: 1,71 Odds: 1,44 :hope I also thought about putting some money on Sochaux against Sedan but the rating was just below 1,00. Good Luck!

  5. Re: My new RATING-system TOTTENHAM - Newcastle RATING: 1,31 Odds: 1,81 :wall Result: 2-3 WALSALL - Grimsby RATING: 1,85 Odds: 1,58 :loon Result: 2-1 Total profit so far: +2,97 My picks so far this weekend: YEOVIL - Brentford RATING: 1,19 Odds: 1,63 :hope PORTSMOUTH - Charlton RATING: 1,19 Odds: 1,58 :hope Good luck! PS: I don't know if I'll be back this weekend with more picks since my computer at home decided to go to sleep...

  6. Re: My new RATING-system WBA - Luton RATING: 1,70 Odds: 1,57 Result: 3-2 :loon Profit: +0.57 units BIRMINGHAM - Leeds RATING: 1,22 Odds: 1,57 Result: Postponed Profit: +0.00 units CARDIFF - Southend RATING: 1,21 Odds: 1,78 Result: 0-1 :wall Profit: -1.00 unit SWINDON - Wrexham RATING: 1,15 Odds: 1,70 Result: 2-1 :loon Profit: +0.70 units Total profit so far: +3.39 units Bad bets just seem to wait aorund the corner. Cardiff lost leaving me with a small profit.

  7. Re: My new RATING-system Well, it's time to throw the dices again... This weekend I've a couple of matches I think could make a nice profit: WBA - Luton RATING: 1,70 Odds: 1,57 :hope BIRMINGHAM - Leeds RATING: 1,22 Odds: 1,57 :hope CARDIFF - Southend RATING: 1,21 Odds: 1,78 :hope SWINDON - Wrexham RATING: 1,15 Odds: 1,70 :hope Once again I will wish you good luck!

  8. Re: My new RATING-system I'm not sure how it went, but Gravesend vs Halifax was suspended. I don't know if the match will continue were it ended or if it'll start all over. GRAVESEND - Halifax RATING: 1,09 Odds: 2,26 Result: SUSPENDED Profit: +0,00 units DAG & RED - Woking RATING: 1,13 Odds: 1,80 Result: 3:2 :loon Profit: +0,80 units. My profit som far: +3,12 units I realize that 3,12 units in profit since right before christmas might not be that much. But money is money and the bigger the value of each unit you bet the bigger the profit. Some have a fixed stakingplan (such as myself) others calculate a certain percentage of the bankroll to become a unit and so on. All stakingplans av advantages and disadvantages. The reason for me to stick to a fixed stakingplan is because I want to see how much I can benefit from it. I keep a record for every bet in this system and the fixed stakingplan make it easier for me to se how thing are going. After a while I will convert my records to fit other stakingplans to see how thing could be if I did this or that.

  9. Re: My new RATING-system I found a few matches outside the FA CUP to bet on. GRAVESEND - Halifax RATING: 1,09 Odds: 2,26 :hope DAG & RED - Woking RATING: 1,13 Odds: 1,80 :hope For those of you who want to bet on a few matches in the FA CUP I will recomend Birmingham at home against Newcastle. Newcastle usually does it well in the FA CUP but the team is poor this season. They might as well relegate at the end of the season and winning a few FA CUP matches won't help the team if the team suffers even more injuries. Losing money for losing in the FA CUP is nothing compared to how much the team will lose if relegated. A quick analysis points Birmingham as the winner today. RATING: 0,96 I'm aware that the RATING is less than 1,00 which indicate that this will be an even match, but if the were to be closer to 0,00 it would indicate that this could end in any directions. I'm almost willing to put a small ammount on the hometeam but I've got a system to take care of. And the system says no bet with RATING less than 1,00.

  10. Re: My new RATING-system Stoke pulled a late winner as I was wondering if it would be a good idea to get the stake returned by also betting on a draw or simply bettin on asian handicap. Ofcourse, the profit would be smaller but at least I wouldn't get so annoyed when the team I've bet on can't seem to score. STOKE - Millwall RATING: 1,60 Odds: 1,60 Result: 2-0 :loon Profit: +0,60 units Profit so far: +2,32 units

  11. Re: My new RATING-system This weekend is tricky since there's nothing else from England than the FA CUP to bet on. I believe Stoke will win tonight and my RATING is taking into concideration the difference between the leagues. STOKE - Millwall RATING: 1,60 Odds: 1,60 :hope Good Luck!

  12. Re: My new RATING-system I use my own formula to calculate the ratings. The ratings are based on current stats (points, goals, wins, draws, difference between the teams based on points, goals, etc.). I'm currently trying to improve my system so it can be more selective when picking the teams to bet on. I like the simplicity about my formula and I'm only using current stats (current table and not forms, injuries, etc.). Well, hang on for a while and feel free to comment my picks and the way my system works for you.

  13. Re: My new RATING-system SWANSEA - Brentford RATING: 1,11 Odds: 1,56 Result: 2-0 :loon Profit: +0,56 units HALIFAX - Altrincham RATING: 1,04 Odds: 1,79 Result: 1-1 :wall Profit: -1,00 units Profit so far: +1,72 units Well, it didn't turn out as I was hoping for and I might consider laying the odds on the losers. If I did that so far I wouldn't have lost a single units.

  14. Re: My new RATING-system I hope that everyone is back on track and that you're eager to get a grip on this years betting opportunities. I found it hard to pick some winners today and I've only come up with two matches to bet on. SWANSEA - Brentford RATING: 1,11 Odds: 1,56 :hope HALIFAX - Altrincham RATING: 1,04 Odds: 1,79 :hope Good luck with todays betting and I really hope my system increase your account as we're going through 2007.

  15. Re: My new RATING-system WALSALL- Bristol R RATING: 2,03 Odds: 1,75 RESULT: 2-2 :wall Profit: -1,00 units DAG & RED - Halifax RATING: 1,49 Odds: 1,66 RESULT: 1-0 :loon Profit: +0,66 units COLCHESTER - Wolves RATING: 1,39 Odds: 2,18 RESULT: 2-1 :loon Profit: +1,18 units STOKE - Leeds RATING: 1,27 Odds: 1,73 RESULT: 3-1 :loon Profit: +0,73 units Total profit so far: +2,16 units Well, this ends my 2006 betting. See you again next year and HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all!!

  16. Re: My new RATING-system Thank you, turnlux! If you look at the results of my system so far, you will see that if you layed odds on the opponent teams or played Asian Handicap you wouldn't have lost any units at all. Anyway, I do believe in this system and will continue to post my picks in 2007 as well.

  17. Re: My new RATING-system My last picks this year as we face 2007... Another year has gone by and I believe some of us has been able to profit from it. Anyway, here's my picks....: WALSALL- Bristol R RATING: 2,03 Odds: 1,75 :hope DAG & RED - Halifax RATING: 1,49 Odds: 1,66 :hope COLCHESTER - Wolves RATING: 1,39 Odds: 2,18 :hope STOKE - Leeds RATING: 1,27 Odds: 1,73 :hope Good Luck!

  18. Re: My new RATING-system EVERTON - M'boro RATING: 1,12 Odds: 1,90 Result: 0-0 :wall SOUTHAMPTON - Crystal Palace RATING: 1,21 Odds: 1,79 Result: 1-1 :wall MAN UTD - Wigan RATING: 1,45 Odds: 1,21 Result: 3-1 :loon COLCHESTER - Luton RATING: 1,68 Odds: 1,85 Result: 4-1 :loon WALSALL - Shrewsbury RATING: 1,59 Odds: 1,93 Result: 1-0 :loon Total profit so far: +0,59 units It seems as I'm on a rebound after a good start. But I'll keep my head up and continue to use the system as I know it works. I've used a great amount of time testing it before I decided to go public with my RATINGS on the matches I pick, and I believe it'll win me some money. So, keep tracking my picks and feel free to comments this project.

  19. Re: My new RATING-system As the days move on I find myself digging for more teams to bet on. Actually, I'm not looking for more teams to bet on as that might lead me to force myself to bet on teams that I don't believe is going to win, but I'm looking trough the matches to see if I've missed an opportunity to make money. And so I have. Here's an updated list of what matche to bet on (remember only to bet on the hometeams): EVERTON - M'boro RATING: 1,12 Odds: 1,90 :hope SOUTHAMPTON - Crystal Palace RATING: 1,21 Odds: 1,79 :hope MAN UTD - Wigan RATING: 1,45 Odds: 1,21 :hope COLCHESTER - Luton RATING: 1,68 Odds: 1,85 :hope WALSALL - Shrewsbury RATING: 1,59 Odds: 1,93 :hope Good luck! PS: Although there's plenty of matches to bet on I don't find any more that I believe in and those I've found but didn't bet on didn't live up to the rules about the RATING (it have to be greater than 1,00).

  20. Re: My new RATING-system Well, the flying start crashed as Alkmaar couldn't score and the match ended 0-0 :wall So, my profit is now +0,60 units. I do have a great feeling about Man Utd with a match-rating at 1,45 but the odds offerede might seem to low. 1,21 on a homewin doesn't seem to be something to bet on but the rating show that Man Utd should win against Wigan. So, as I've gone through my rules of this RATNG-system I've decided to bet on Man Utd to win. The feeling is good about it, the RATING show 1,45 and it's a bet on the hometeam. Good luck and let's hope Everton and Southampton knows how to score and win :hope

  21. Re: My new RATING-system Marseille vs St. Etienne RATING: 1,08 Odds: 1,95 Result: 2-1 :loon Profit: +0,95 units Tranmere vs Gillingham RATING: 1,45 Odds: 1,77 Result: 2-3 :wall Profit: -1,00 units Portsmouth - Sheff Utd RATING: 1,30 Odds: 1,81 Result: 3-1 :loon Profit: +0,81 units Preston - Colchester RATING: 1,50 Odds: 1,84 Result: 1-0 :loon Profit:+0,84 Alkmaar - Nijmegen RATING: 1,19 Odds: 1,30 Result: Pending :hope Total profit so far: +1,60 units Next picks: Everton - M'boro RATING: 1,12 Odds: 1,90 Southampton - Crystal Palace RATING: 1,21 Odds: 1,79 Good luck! :hope
