  1. Re: Banker of the Meeting

salsify won the foxhunters last year mate Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Hmmmmm. Now im going to have to rack my brains to think about what horse l was on about then. I'll get back to you :) Edit: Sericina. KINDA sounds the same!!
  2. Re: BBOTD Tuesday 5th 4:10 Southwell. Amtired. This horse is rated in the low 120's over sticks and with the headgear applied today on the all weather surface it loves, it has to go close off a mark this low. Clearly going to get the trip, only one other horse in the lineup could be described as anything like unexposed and a confirmed liking for the track. The obvious worry is that the horse doesnt seem to like winning but that's what your dealing with every time you have a meeting at Southwell. Been backed early on, always travels fantastically and this could even be one to lay in running to lock in a profit.

My banker has to be Salsify for the Foxhunters. Had a wedge @ 3/1' date=' don't think anything will touch him.[/quote'] Has that thing ran in the past couple of runnings of the race? iirc it was travelling really well when brought down 2 or 3 years ago, then ran no sort of race last year. They seem to be perservering with it but 3/1 looks short considering it's past record in the race.
  5. Re: BBOTD Monday 4th Noble Legend 2:30 Southwell. Im mainly going on the jockey/trainer partnership here as everything is in place for a big run. Something was clearly amiss when it ran at Lingfield (id backed it) but looking at the form of it's Wetherby run, whatever it was has since been put right or cleared up. Also the first time it's had the right combination of ground and trip in his favour. Considering the horse has won it's fair share of races it also gets in off a relatively light weight thanks to that Lingfield run.

  6. Re: Flat is back..........What are you looking forward to ?

Cant wait for the November handicap! :p
:rollin hahahhahah agreed. I'll probably enjoy a few lazy summer evenings at localish tracks for the night meetings and l keep saying im going to do the whole Monday evening cruise up to Windsor thing one year but other than that, the flat just doesnt stimulate me the same as jumps. That said, the tattersalls at Doncaster yesterday was packed full of the kind of pricks you associate with the flat meetings and it really boiled my piss.
  7. Re: The Jockey Thread Utterly disgraceful from Probert and if id had serious wedge on him id have been going looking for him at the track he rides at closest to me next time and asking him to get his hand in the pocket. Im not even kidding, id be livid. Never happened to me, the closest i've come is in the king george a few years back when (iirc) Robbie Power mistook the finishing line and ended up getting chinned.

  8. Re: cheltenham chat thread 2013 Always try and get the retirement money in from the festival each year and this years pipe and slippers bet is 25 each way acca on. Finians Rainbow for the 2mile chase, Double Dizzy in the x country, Overturn arkle, Un Atout supreme and the hurricane in the CH. All being well I should be there to see the races as well. Club enclosure this time, tattersalls was stupidly busy when I first went two years ago and whilst I dont expect to have the place to myself in the club enclosure I do hope that this time I can actually get to see some live horseracing and not just in a tent at the back of the parade ring watching it on a plasma screen. It really is about time they built another large stand on the opposite side of the course!

  9. Re: BBOTD Wednesday 20th feb 4:15 ludlow. Jupiter Rex 11/4 generally available. May not be the boldest of predicitions looking at the betting but l really think this horse is still many pounds well in. Absolutely mullered the rest of them at Taunton lto, giving very much the impression it would be even better over further. Venetia Williams horses are absolutely flying, she does very well with horses moving from hurdles to fences and the horse certainly acts on the ground which is not also the case with one or two of it's near market rivals who dont also seem to be sure to get the trip either.

  10. Re: Apprentice watch The boy Robert Tart really is something else. Just shown Joe Fanning up in a handicapp at Lingfield. No mean feat and the lad seems to have all the tools required to make sure he's heading to the top of the game in the not too distant future. Dont be surprised if this kid is only claiming 3lb by the end of the year. He'll have trainers falling over themselves to give him rides in the big Saturday summer handicapps imo.

  11. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread l was at Doncaster today, booked the day off work as it's not often you get the chance to see such a potentially fantastic race 5 mins from home and it looked all set to be just that right up until the final hurdle. l know it's possibly not right to look to atone blame and in doing so im in now way saying AP does not feel real sadness at Darlan's passing but l have to say l thought he held the horse in behind Rock on Ruby until too late in the day for Darlan to ever get a proper good look at the hurdle. There was an extremely fierce headwind blowing down the course all day today and as such it was probably a tactic that O' Neil. Henderson and AP had all agreed to to keep Darlan in as much cover as possible until the very last minute and then unleash it after the last. Imo AP just kept it in behind for too long and the horse was left badly unsighted and it became impossible for it to get it's legs up in time.

  12. Re: BBOTD Monday 4th 1:50 Doncaster. Neltara @ SP. This horse is beautifully bred being by kayf tara no less and whilst it has clearly had it's problems, the race it ran at Doncaster lto after nearly 2 years off was very encouraging and the race was run by a very progressive horse. One of the top rated horses in the field in this sphere, added to the fact it should no doubt improve for fitness from it's previous race the horse could go close again. It was in the front ranks for a long time lto, hit a flat spot (not unexpected due to the fact it was tacky ground and it's 1st run for nearly two years) then ran on again strongly at the end. Looks to have a e/w chance at the very least. Will also be very interesting when next placed in a handicapp.

  13. Re: joe de mata on atr

Everytime he gets the gig on here, he tips up winners. Alas you may see him 3 or 4 times a month, last week he was all over a 8/1 shot against a 1/2 shot. It bolted up.....The more success you have with ATR, the less you see of them. So we have to put up with Pinky n Perky on a Friday night, always bottom and in the negative of the tipping challenge....And Mick Fitz, who tells us all every jockey n trainer is trying for their lives, and he could not tip a wheel barrow. Typical ATR.:puke
l appreciate what your saying regarding the pair of them on atr on Friday nights but lets be honest, a heap of class 6 handicapps, claimers and sellers all within roughly 6lb of each other on cold December, January, February Friday nights is not the easiest place to find solid, well regarded bets is it.
  14. Re: The Jockey Thread

7lb claimer' date=' Robert Tart, had an excellent ride on Royal Sea, coming from last to first in the final furlongs to take the spoils in the 3:05 and beat mine by a nose. For a moment I thought it was Jamie Spencer on board![/quote'] if spencer had been aboard it would have failed to get up!
  15. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread

I just can't take to Rishi Persad.
Currently rocking the potters leisure resort live on bbc2 at the indoor bowls champs. What pisses me off about the bloke is that it's blindingly obvious he has no knowledge of the sport and relies on the little earpiece he has in and autocue. Balding is not my cup of tea either but at least she does have some idea of what it is she's talking about.
