  1. Re: Europa League > Thurs 4th April Fair to say Benfica rode their luck on more than one occasion with time standing still on 2 occasions when the ball was creeping toward goal only for it to come back off the post. Fair also to say that on each occasion l truly shat my pants. On balance of play though, lets be truthful, Benfica mullered them!

  2. Re: Europa League > Thurs 4th April Have to disagree with the people who are saying Benfica are a poor price tonight. Lets look at the facts here. Benfica are on an unbeaten home record of 29 matches and have averaged over 3 goals every home game this season. These are better stats than the very best of europes sides like Barca, Real Madrid, Athletico, Juve and PSG. Newcastle are on a very poor run of form, particularly away from home, are ravaged by many injuries to key players (Collocini in particular) Have lost Demba Ba, have a very inexperienced side who are also on the verge of going out the premiership. Just hearing Alan Pardew on ITV4 saying that they are going to try and press Benfica and try for the away goal. Shows what a total clown this man is. Benfica are going to crucify them. l lumped on a double of Bayern and Benfica on Tuesday. Not even got a sweat on about the result.

  3. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread Battlefront perished on the course. Real shame but above all else what we as lovers of the sport didn't want to see when the RSPCA and the daily mail crew are just waiting to pounce on any fatality. Id have given up every penny l may win this week for there to be no horse casualties so as to say "up yours" to the do gooders out there.

  4. Re: Best Bet Of The Day 4th April Was tempted to put up Grandouet but instead i'll try one at double figures who has come through on my ATR tracker. Fred The Shred. My notes on the horse came through stating that the horse had been given a clumsy ride lto and that it just never got into a rhythm which in turn caused it to make no end of errors in it's jumping. Looking back to it's two more recent runs at Chepstow though and the horse had been running brilliantly. Winning once and finishing 2nd in class 3 handicapps which resulted in it going off 10/11 fav for the race at Newbury in which it ran dreadfully. Gets in off a very low weight here and if forgiven one poor run then the 14/1 available in a place just now looks more than fair and it will more than likely be available at bigger in the morning once more firms have priced the race up. 1pt e/w Fred the Shred. @25/1 sporting bet right now no BOG.

  5. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread Don't know how many of you saw the first at Southwell today but imo Far Gaze was mugged of the race by firstly the Mcabe horse and then, more importantly the stewards. On more than 2 occasions the eventual winner came across far gaze and denied him a clear run up the nearside rail. Now admittedly im talking out of my pocket here (look in the bbotd thread for confirmation if you wish) but everyone at the track was of the same opinion that the race should have been awarded to Far Gaze. The rails bookie l spoke to after the last said that there was an objection raised by the 2nd horse but it was thrown out on regards that these are lightly/unraced 2 yr olds. Im sorry but that is completely unfair in my eyes. Just because interference is more likely to occur in these races does not make it more excusable or give the stewards more scope to throw out legitimate objections. l couldn't believe my ears when l never heard the bell go for a stewards in all honesty. RANT OVER!!!

  6. Re: BBOTD Wednesday 3rd April 2:20 Southwell. Far Gaze. Think this horse looks overpriced given that it's one of only 2 in the field with racecourse experience. Had an entry in the brockelsby but pulled out on regards the ground (an obvious concern here) but if thought good enough for a race like that then ought to be able to win this with one leg tied behind it's back. Slowly away but got the hang of things late on on debut, should he be slow away again then this course will allow him to reclaim that gap at a far easier gallop. My concern is that the stable are running the horse here with the intention of running it down field to aid it get a low handicap rating but at the prices available in comparison to the fav and given the stable also brings a 1/4 shot here lm prepared to give it a go. Im going to Southwell today so my intention is to dutch in the field with the fav but also include Far Gaze in a double with Ace Master in the last.

  7. Re: Best Bet Of The Day Tables ~ March 2013

Trotter has been consistently excellent for years...the *******! :lol
Tomorrow morning im handing in my resignation at work with immediate effect. Just as im about to walk out the door for the last time, my boss will call out to me and ask "Just tell me why will you" A wry smile will cross my face, one hand on the large white door and with a noncholant nod towards the clear blue sky, pierced by the warm spring sunshine which produces a beautiful light l shall proclaim............"Boss, do you see the light? Because l sure do, I've seen the light..........It's name is Trotter" And with that i'll retire to a life of sofa surfing, one hand on my willy, one hand on my keyboard. Safe in the knowledge both are about to enjoy a gentle stroking each morning around 11am with the thoughts of trotter coursing through my veins.
  8. Re: Best Bet Of The Day Tables ~ March 2013 Ahh ok pal. Thanks for pointing that out to me. Dont think l posted my first selection until relatively late in the month so that makes sense. Appreciate we need to have a minimum number of selections per month to ensure no bugger turns up on one day of the month and slams a 50/1 shot in and then never bothers posting at all the rest of the month. Hardly in the spirit of things. One last thing. Looking back through at some previous BBOTD tables, can someone tell me who the hell this Trotter bloke is and if he has a telephone number l can contact him on? Insane profits 2 months in a row and then not a dickie bird heard from him since it seems?:loon

  9. Re: Best Bet Of The Day Tables ~ March 2013 Just like to add my congrats to cpo. Takes serious kohonas to stick up 25/1 shots as a BBOTD available and he deserves all the praise coming his way. Could someone from the admin team just point out to me however why it seems im placed way behind other posters who have unfortunately ended up in a net loss for the month when id somehow fluked a net profit? Not that im wanting to bang my own drum but just more so l can try to rectify any mistakes l may have made that may have led to being penalised for any feck ups?

  10. Re: FC Bayern München v Juventus > Tue 2nd April i've seen a fair bit of Bayern this season and in the CL in particular at times they have been simply incredible. They were short priced favourites for the competition when Barca were 2 down in the first leg against Milan and with good reason. They're probably missing a real world class striker/no 9 but their forward line overall is simply far, far too strong for what is an average defence like Juve's. Schweini, Muller, Ribery, Kroos are all world class players and going up against a back line of Bonucci and Barzagli will be a far easier test than they have already mauled this season in Arsenal at the emirates. They also have an incredible amount of talent ready and waiting to come off the bench. Compared to a bunch of players i've never heard of for Juve. Juve just dont have the midfield to compete with Bayern and that in turn means the likes of Marchisio and Vucinic, good players though they are unlikely to see much of the ball. Im having my maximum stakes bet on Bayern and Benfica on Thursday.

  11. Re: BBOTD Wednesday 27th 8:20 wolves, On with the dance. Forgive this horse it's latest abomination at Southwell and the horse looks to be in with a great shout. Never saw it's debut run but the following run at Lingfield was full of promise and appeared to be a horse with a nice burst of speed. Full brother to the stables dance and dance who's way above this level, the track is the same as at Lingfield which we know he handles and also no bother with the trip. l think this horse will prove to be a good horse to follow once it goes handicppin too but for today im more than happy today is going to prove a nice stepping stone to slightly better things. 1pt @4/1 BOG.

  12. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread

Kirby was EH rider' date=' not Morris. ;)[/quote'] Sorry, easy mistake to make im sure you agree. Anytime you turn ATR on to watch live racing between November and March the ONLY two names you ever hear are those of Morris and Kirby. It's like some form of MI6 brainwashing i tells ye!
  13. Re: BBOTD 26th March Jupiter Rex has done me no end of favours this year but his last race showed that the horse is certainly coming to the end of it's tether. A 5lb rise, in this kind of ground after a month on the sidelines is enough to convince me the horse could be about to come a cropper. The real trouble is that it's extremely hard to find who's going to beat it, so therefore it has to be a case of a simple lay bet. Fortification and the bottom weight look the two most likely to turn the jolly over. On balance what l think i'll do is wait till tomorrow morning when hopefully people will look to smash into it, possibly into 4/6 or shorter then hit the lay button. Lay Jupiter rex @4/6.

  14. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread Hayley Turner would be comfortably in the teens if people would just give her the opportunitys. Crowley too if he could be arsed thesedays. Anyway, the thread is about to go off in a totally different direction if we're not careful, l think we both agree Morris dropped a ball here!

  15. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread

i know what u r saying. at 35mph..But he had alot of time to plan his move...5 furlongs in fact, thats enough time...he had 3 choices..and the worst 1 he chose. But its poor fayre(AW), with average jockeys on the whole. I know plenty wont agree, but its all opinions. :ok
Not sure l agree about the average jockeys comment. It was the only flat meeting in the country today and whilst there were no Buicks, Moores, Hanaghans etc, the lads and lasses there today are right at the top of the game in this country. Hughes, Turner, Fanning and Crowley. Poor horses yes and an error of judgement from Morris but that could happen at any track.
