Re: Had a bad beat ? Come and have a moan here Not really a massive bad beat but shows why muppets are frustrating. I am one of the low stacks and approaching the bubble. Daz to my left is the BB and is also short stacked but more than me. I have had no hands throughout the whole tourney. Hardly played a hand. Get A6 clubs on the SB. Only Daz in the pot. Take my chance to buy with a half decent hand and up against someone who can't afford to lose many. Seems sound. All in for 1000. He thinks and calls for over half his stack. If he loses he has about 500 chips left with blinds at 100/200 turns over 4 8 spades. We he hits a 4 on the turn I think. Not a massive bad beat as A 6 isn't a great hand but it was sooooo much better than his! My problem is how come he called? What on earth did he think he was beating against someone who had sat next to him all through and been tighter than a ducks arse? Worst thing was... he was complaining about always being bad beat himself earlier! I fully understand that he may have suspected that I was trying to buy the blind. But he had nothing really to defend it with. Seems like an awful call to my mind. He could have hit the flush or a card, as he did, but he simply had to suspect he was behind. So why risk the majority of his stack, his whole tourney when folding 200 chips was the other option? He risked every thing on an 84! I know it was suited but 84? He must have expected to lose so why did he call? And why does the fixed SO dealer always give them the cards when they make bad calls! Had to get that one in!

Re: question? Not sure Mo..... Is it the ante? On some sites... when you get close to the money they do the normal blind thingymajig but they also take a small amount from each player too.... it is called the ante as far as i know.... normally you play either blinds OR antes but on some you play both in the latter stages. I know that this is the case on Goal poker tourneys. Hope that helps but if not then I show my ignorance!

Re: Help I always seem to Bubble Doob........I am not sure if my advice is worth a bubble of man fat but you can have it! I am an extremely patient player and don't mind getting short stacked waiting for my hand. when it gets to the buble i have two stratagies. 1) wait for the big hand. Play it big and because you have been origami man to date the table SHOULD respect your raise. Then you know that anyone you are up against is either a big hand( cointoss possibly) or a muppet who is chancing his arm(easy chips) 2) conitnue to be origami man. I have scraped into the money with nearly no chips left on the bubble and sat smiling as two of the big guys go head to head and neither will back down. one goes and you're in. Now if you have been getting decent cards and played them well and have amassed a good stack then those rules don't always count. You can afford to be a bully and see a few more flops. BUT Don't be one of the big guys i mentioned and drop on the bubble!I am not saying fold the nuts just because someone goes in against you....just be careful. Some players will bet big BECAUSE it is bubble time and know that other players don't want to have been sat there for hours with no reward. My opinion is that is a fantastic stratagy and very successful. It is fraught with danger and peril though. Muppets are everywhere remember! They do get lucky. Oh my god.....do they get lucky. I had AA and this moron............. you know the rest. Try to be sensible and let fly when you have a good hand. Just make sure you don't join me so regularly in the bad beat thread! Good Luck Danno the wise or not delete as appropriate! Edit: when it gets to the buble........... erm... i don't mean that nice young man with a fine singing voice and a favourite of Micheal Parkinson

Re: Goal Poker concern yes. I was concerned when i didn't know if or when my flight to geneva was. but it did get sorted and they did it all in a matter of a couple of days. My feeling is to give them the benefit of the doubt.
