  1. Re: SunDog's First Million I tell you - if I could've jumped through my tv last night, there'd be one crippled ginger walking the streets of Liverpool today. As it is, it's a big, big ask for Rafa and co to get through now. Although I might back them to do it on penalties. ;) Start Bank: 100pts Current Bank: 165.21pts Profit/Loss: +65.21pts Bet: 7pts Man U qualify for CL final @4/7

  2. Re: SunDog's First Million Start Bank: 100pts Current Bank: 175.21pts Profit/Loss: +75.21pts My only concern with backing Liverpool to overcome Chelsea is that if you said to me, "Liverpool and Chelsea meet each other in 3 sets of 2 legged matches, would you expect Chelsea to win any?" I'd have to say yes. On the other hand, each match has to be taken on its merits and on that basis I've got to give Liverpool the nod. 5pts Liverpool qualify for CL final @ 10/11 5 pts Liverpool bt Chelsea @ 13/10

  3. Re: SunDog's First Million Start Bank: 100pts Current Bank: 161pts Profit/Loss: 61pts Gonna have to trawl through my Bet365 account - can't understand why it's suddenly shot up to 161pts. I'll find out what happened later. Bet: 1pt Chelsea bt Wigan 1-0 @11/2 1pt Chelsea bt Wigan 2-0 @5/1

  4. Re: SunDog's First Million Hmmm... Fulham get their first away win in 581 days? That'd be about right. Start Bank: 100pts Current Bank: 137.66 Profit/Loss: +37.66 Bet: 7 pts Man U DNB @ 1/3 3 pts Man U DNB / Liverpool @ 1/2 (Double)

  5. Re: SunDog's First Million Start Bank: 100pts Current Bank: 142.36 Profit/Loss: +42.36 Yet again, what I win on the champions league I lose on the Uefa Cup. I hate that competition, They should get rid of it - even teams like Bolton don't take it seriously, teams that play dire in the home leg win in the away leg and the form book totally goes out the window. It's a competition that was obviously dreamt up by a bookie. Anyway, now that's off my chest, let's get on with the bets. 3pts Reading DNB @4/11 3pts Birmingham/Everton under 2.5 goals @8/13 3pts Bolton/West Ham under 2.5 goals @13/20 1.5 pts Reading DNB / Birmingham/Everton under 2.5 goals 1.5 pts Reading DNB / Bolton/West Ham under 2.5 goals 1.5 pts Birmingham/Everton under 2.5 goals / Bolton/West Ham under 2.5 goals 1.5 pts Treble of above 1.5 pts Treble of above + Sunderland DNB @ 4/9 1pt e/w Came Back @5/1 (Doncaster 3.05)

  6. Re: SunDog's First Million Ok, a winner last night - even though Chelsea almost messed it up on me. Also, my bet from last week on Liverpool reaching the CL semis came through so happy days I guess. Start Bank: 100pts Current Bank: 140.86pts Profit/Loss: +40.86 pts Bet: 5pts Man U/Roma under 2.5 goals @ 9/10

  7. Re: SunDog's First Million Start Bank: 100 pts Current Bank: 126.32 Profit/Loss: +26.32 Gonna really push the boat out tonight. :lol 1.5 pt Liverpool @ 11/8 / Chelsea - 1 goal @ 5/6 .25pt Liverpool on penalties @ 18/1 / Chelsea -1 goal .25pt Liverpool in extra time @ 18/1 / Chelsea -1 goal ...all doubles.

  8. Re: SunDog's First Million I didn't like the look of any of the matches yesterday and still - against my better judgement - betted on them. I reckon there's none so stupid as those who don't follow their own advice. :lol Start Bank: 100 pts Current Bank: 129.32 pts Profit/Loss: +29.32 pts I don't see a lot of goals being scored today. Then again, I didn't see Sunderland beating Fulham yesterday, did I? Bet: 3 pts Everton-Derby under 2.5 goals @ 21/20 / Boro/Man U under 2.5 goals @ 17/20 (Double)

  9. Re: SunDog's First Million A familiar refrain - what I win on the Champions League I lose on the Uefa Cup... will I ever learn? Do I really want to? Start Bank: 100 pts Current Bank: 139.32 pts Profit/Loss: +39.32 pts Nothing much doing in the Premier League today. Bet: 4 pts Fulham +1 goal @1/3 / Wigan-B'ham under 2.5 goals @8/13 2 pt Man City/Chelsea draw @ 13/5 2pt Chelsea win by 1 goal @ 23/10 1 pt Chelsea win by 1 goal/Fulham +1 goal/Wigan-B'ham under 2.5 goals 1 pt Man City/Chelsea draw /Fulham +1 goal/Wigan-B'ham under 2.5 goals

  10. Re: SunDog's First Million Start Bank: 100 pts Current Bank: 144.32 Profit/Loss: +44.32 I saw Sporting toil to a miserable victory over lowly Bolton a couple of weeks ago and they didn't look very clever at all. Rangers, on the other hand, had an impressive win over Werder Bremen. Guess who my money's going on tonight? Bet: 5 pts Rangers bt Sporting Lisbon @ 11/10

  11. Re: SunDog's First Million I had a good laugh at Roma last night... god, those Italian team are really, really poor. To lose 2-0 at home to a mediocre Man U performance sums up just how bad they are. Start Bank: 100 pts Current Bank: 145.21 pts Profit/Loss: + 45.21 pts Both tonight's games should be a lot closer than that one. Only the truly brave or terminally insane would be confident of which way the Arsenal/Liverpool game will go tonight. Arsenal have been really bad of late - it's all well and good making a comeback from 2-0 down against Bolton but the questions is, how can you be 2-0 down to Bolton in the first place - but they were doing poorly too when they beat Milan. Liverpool, on the other hand, are a really classy European team but usually get beaten at Arsenal. Fenerbache should get something at home to Chelsea - their home form in this competition is exceptional and Chelsea would probably take a draw now. Bet: 2 pts Liverpool + 1 goal @ 4/7 2 pts Fenerbache + 1 goal @ 4/6 1 pt Double 5 pts Liverpool qualify for CL semi finals @ Evs

  12. Re: SunDog's First Million Start Bank: 100 pts Current Bank: 147.21 pts Profit/Loss: + 47.21 1 pt Roma/Man U Correct Score: 0-0 @ 11/2 1 pt Roma/Man U Correct Score: 1-1 @ 5/1 I mentioned a few posts ago that I'd gotten a free 10 euro bet from Bet 365. While I haven't figured yet how I'm going to add it into the bank stats-wise, I've put it on Man U to reach the CL semi finals. 10 pts Man U reach CL semi finals @ 2/5

  13. Re: SunDog's First Million Got that one spectacularly wrong, didn't I? I could complain that Mascherano being sent off changed the course of the game but the truth is Liverpool never turned up. Start Bank: 100 pts Current Bank: 129.61 pts Profit/Loss: + 29.61 pts Let's see if this tip on a horse does any better. 1 pt e/w: Alexander Taipan @ 9/1 - Fairyhouse, 3.55pm

  14. Re: SunDog's First Million Ok, slight profit yesterday which makes a nice change. Looks like that tip on the horse let me down so I'm not sure I'll back his tip for the Irish Grand National tomorrow. Start Bank: 100 pts Current Bank: 134.61 pts Profit/Loss: +34.61 pts Today's 2 matches should be avoided at all costs but they always suck us sorry punters in. In truth, no result in either match would be a big surprise. However, Arsenal have really gone to pieces of late. They've shown how lily-livered they are and I wouldn't put anybody's money on them at the moment. Having said that, if they're going to get their title bid back on track this is where to do it. Chelsea have been hot and cold of late but their record at Stamford Bridge and Arsenal's lack of confidence should give them the nod here. All the talk about Man U/Liverpool is about Ronaldo and Torres but the reality is that it's more likely to be about Carragher, Vidic, Mashcerano, etc. Liverpool are on a bit of a roll at the moment, however, Old Trafford is just the place where that roll could come to an end. Having said that, I haven't been impressed at all by Man U of late and Liverpool, for the first time in years, seem to have a genuinely impressive attacking threat. Therefore the 8/11 on Liverpool + 1 goal has to be the call here. Bet: 3 pts Liverpool + 1 goal @ 8/11 1 pt Liverpool + 1 goal/Chelsea + 1 goal @ 2/7 (Double) 1 pt Man U/Liverpool under 2.5 goals @ 3/5 / Chelsea/Arsenal under 2.5 goals @ 11/20 (Double)

  15. Re: SunDog's First Million At this moment in time I reckon if I backed Brazil to bet El Salvador they'd lose. However, I guess at times like these you've got to stick to your guns instead of going off the rails and panic betting. Start Bank: 100 pts Current Bank: 124.79 Profit/Loss: +24.79 There's slim pickings in today's matches and the bookies are giving nothing away with their prices. Both Villa and Boro are ridiculous prices DNB and there's no way I could trust either of them on the straight win. My friend on the radio came up with a tip for the gee gees - let's hope his luck is a bit better than mine. Bet: 7 pts Bolton +1 goal @ 4/11 / Reading DNB @ 2/5 3 pts Bolton/Man City under 2.5 goals @8/15 / Reading + 1 goal @2/9 2 pts Bolton +1 goa/ Reading DNB/ Everton DNB @ 2/9 1 pt Fairyhouse 3.50: Clopf @ 7/4

  16. Re: SunDog's First Million Bet365 just gave me a free bet... must have felt sorry for me. I'll worry later about how to figure that into my kitty. Start Bank: 100 pts Current Bank: 132.79 pts Profit/Loss: +32.70 pts Well, with Spurs having nothing to play for anymore this season and Chelsea desperate for the points, surely the blues will get a win tonight, particularly considering their history in this fixture. Also, while Man U are anything but bankers to win by more than a goal these days, at home to lowly Bolton, missing their keeper, they'd want to win by a couple - especially with Liverpool coming up. Bet: 18 pts Chelsea DNB @ 2/5 5 pts Chelsea @ 11/10 3 pts Chelsea/Man U -1 goal @ 4/7

  17. Re: SunDog's First Million Start Bank: 100 pts Current Bank: 141.79 pts Profit/Loss: +141.79 pts Ok, I'm in real trouble with this one now. I've lost nearly 100 pts over a couple of weeks and it doesn't sit well with me at all. I think it's more my staking plan that's leading to the trouble as my strike rate isn't bad. Maybe I should look around and see what staking plans other PLers use. If anyone sees something obviously wrong in what I'm doing, feel free to comment. Also, my biggest losses have come with the most unlikely resuts - Man City beating Man U, Barnsely beating Liverpool and Chelsea and Man U being unable to beat Derby convincingly (by the way, I guess Paul Jewell must be the master of reverse psychology after his comments before yesterday's match.) :lol I'm not too upset with the arsenal game yesterday, funny enough, as I broke rule 2 of my 3 golden rules of betting: "Thou shalt not chase thy losses"... so I deserved that one and it was a timely reminder that rules aren't always meant to be broken. Anyway, onwards we go. 7.5 pts Everton +1 goal @ 3/10 7.5 pts Wigan/Bolton under 2.5 goals 4 pts Everton +1 goal/Wigan-Bolton under 2.5 goals (Double) 2 pts Everton +1 goal/Wigan-Bolton under 2.5 goals/ Man City +1 goal @ 8/15 (Treble)
