    7.50 Stratford: Deise Vu @ 5/1 (Skybet)

    Not the greatest of contests but in an average field someone still has to win! Doing for Deise Vu as he is a consistent sort who makes the frame and has the best form (which does not say much) going into the race. At 5/1 in a wide open race the price offers a bit if value.

    Wales v Belguim: +2.5 Goals.

    I feel there will be goals in this game. After a shaky start Belgium have found their scoring boots with 8 in their last 3 games. They will be missing both Verthongen and Vermaerlen in defence today and may have to rely on replacements who have yet to feature in the tournament. Wales have been a credit to their country and supporters and whatever the outcome Belgium will know they will have been in a game tonight. They too have goals in the side and not the strongest defence in the competition, so for me the 6/4 best price at time of writing about +2.5 goals seems a decent bet.

    Poland v Portugal: Draw

    Both sides have progressed to this stage without setting the World alight and I expect a close game tonight. 

    Poland needed penalties to see off Switzerland in the previous round and finished 2nd in their group winning 2 and drawing 1 scoring 2 and conceding 0.

    Portugal have been doing just enough and riding their luck to get to this stage, getting into the knock out stage with 3 draw and having to go to extra time before beating Croatia 1-0 thanks to a 117 minute winner. 

    These facts lead me to believe a draw is the likeliest outcome with few goals in the match.

    The last 2 meetings between these sides have end all square and I am hoping for a hat trick tonight!

    Belgium v Irish Rep:

    Belgium were disappointing in their first game against Italy and need to win this game to keep in with a chance of a top 2 finish to avoid the best 3rd place team lottery.

    Ireland were unlucky not to come away from the Swedish game with only a point having by far the best chances in the game. I cannot see Belgium putting in another tepid performance and with the talented squad they have should just have a little bit too much quality for the Irish in what I believe will be a very close game.

    In 7 previous matches between the two sides the Irish have yet to record a win though of those 7 games 5 have been draws. The last meeting between the two sides was back in 1997 when Belgium won 2-1 at home in a World Cup Qualifier and I can see a similar result today.

    Italy v Sweden:

    The Italians for me were the surprise side of the first phase of games and though Belgium were not at their bet a lot of credit has to go to Italy for the tactics they used.

    Sweden were lucky to escape with a draw against the Irish and rely too much on Ibrahimovic to inspire them and get their goals, if he does not perform then generally neither do the rest of the side.

    Italy look solid in defence and if they can keep Ibrahimovic quiet are well capable of snatching the win which at best price evens at time of writing is where my money will be going this afternoon.

    Head to head results in recent times favour Italy with 4 wins and 1 draws in the last 7 meetings going there way. I do not expect too many goals in this match either with only 2 of those 7 games going over 2.5 goals."

    Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 22nd November CSKA Moscow v Lille (CSKA win @ 13/10) An interesting game in this group which also contains Inter Milan and Trabzonspor. With 2 games left Inter top the group on 9 points with an away game today at Trabzonspor and a home tie against CSKA to come and look set to top the group. However the fight for the second spot is very close with Inter and Trabzonspor level on 5 points and Lille not out of it altogether though they have just 2 points going into todays game. This is a must win game for CSKA if they wish to progress as with their final game being at Inter they would like to have their fate in their own hands before travelling to Inter. Both sides league form has been erratic of late. CSKA suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Rubin Kazan at the weekend which saw them lose ground on leaders Zenit in the Russian league and are now 3 points behind them in the league with games running out before the league closes down for it`s Winter break. The defeat at the weekend was their first in all competitions in 8 games and they will be looking to bounce back today. Lille are third in the French league at the moment 5 points behind joint leaders PSG and Montpellier but they have hit a sticky patch and have drawn 3 and lost 1 of their last 4 games in all competitions since back to back wins against Lyon and Sedan in the league at the end of October. Their Champions League form has been even more disappointing with just draws against CSKA at home (2-2)and Trabzonspor away (1-1) to show for their efforts to date. Taking all this into account I am going for a CSKA win today which is best price 13/10 at time of writing as I feel that the home side will have to much in the way of fire power for the French side. Also the fact that the weather will not exactly be tropical will not help the visitors. Not many sides fancy a trip to Russia in November and with Lille having just 1 win in their last 7 away games in all competitions I feel it will be a surprise if they can get anything out of this game.

    England - Barclays Premier League - Nov 19 - 21

    Re: England - Barclays Premier League - Nov 19 - 21 Chelsea v Liverpool Chelsea are 4th in the table and Liverpool 7th going into this afternoon`s match but neither sides have been truly consistent this season and have followed one good performance with a mediocre one in the next game. Until Chelsea`s surprise 5-3 home defeat to Arsenal in their last home league match they had been their usual hard to beat self at Stamford Bridge winning their first 4 home league games, however the opposition were W.B.A.,Norwich,Swansea and Everton who are not the best travellers in the League. In their last 5 games in all competitions they have won 2 drawn 1 and lost 2 and they have won just 1 of their last 3 league games which was away to Blackburn last time out. Chelsea`s opponents today, Liverpool have not exactly pulled up trees this season either despite spending heavily in recent times. But they seem to enjoy life away from Anfield at the moment as though they have not lost in 6 league games at home they have managed just 2 wins as opposed to 3 on their travels. They are however unbeaten in their last 8 games in all competitions winning all 4 away games (Brighton,Stoke, Carling Cup and Everton, W.B.A. League). Taking this all into account I am going for the draw which is generally priced about 13/5.
