  4. Re: Online Forum Challenge - Cake Poker

Might not end up being free for us Euro players. Can you get there and back and stay somewhere for £500? :sad 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place each win a CAC Montreal Package (each package valued at $1,500). Each winner will receive a free pass to the CAC Montreal show and $1,000 reimbursement for travel and lodging expenses, provided by CAC.
Doutb it, checked through BA and it'd cost me ~E900 to just get there and back. But i wanted to go there this summer anyway so it would be a welcome deduction from expenses if i won :nana. Looking at the prize it says it's valued at $1,5k, $1k expenses so does that mean it costs $500 for a pass to the show? Sounds a bit steep...

  8. Re: The craziest hand you've been involved in! The craziest hand i've ever been involved in was part of a NL Hold'em Heads Up Team Game. Teams of 3 players, winner of cointoss gets to choose who plays who. These are self dealing HU games. One of my team's players has to leave for our 3rd game and we cannot subsitute anyone else in so we must win both our games. So i'm to deal on the first hand and start shuffling away, blinds 25 - 50, starting stacks 2,500. The other player gets up to say something to a buddy then sits back down, i finish shuffling about 2 seconds later. I place the deck on the table and asks if he wants to cut. "Nah you're grand mate". So i deal out our cards, look down and see AA. I think to myself he'll definitely think i fixed the deck and chuckled away in my head. I decide to play it sneaky and try to trap; call -check. Deal out the flop; A - K - A rainbow :lol. Oh shit, he'll definitely think i've fixed the deck now. He bets out 75 and i think my only real option is call to continue to trap. Turn is an 8 and he bets 200 into me this time, think this is coming on along lovely and make the call again, he didn't even seem suspicious. River is a 9 and he bets out 400 this time, i try to milk it and minraise it to 800. He thinks for a bit and pushes all in, i crack a smile & blush a little, almost not wanting to turn over my cards thinking there'd be accusations of cheating. I say call and turn over my quads. His eyes widen as if he's just seen a ghost and turns over KK for a flopped fullhouse. It was laughed off with a few drinks in the end and wasn't accused of cheating.

  9. Re: STT stealing requirements Haven't been on in a while but i'll give this one a shot anyway. Anyway when I feel the need to steal I think it's best to do so when you have more than 15-20 BB's just incase you get caught with your hand in the cookie jar you're not crippled afterwards. Position as you said is the most important factor, you want to be on the button/cut-off for most of your moves. As regards what cards to do it on, I like to think of the quote from Rounders; "always leave yourself outs". I don't find much value raising with hands like 6/7 or 7/8 incase one of the blinds decides to go for a double up with his K/7 or Q/8 etc. I'd add A/x, K/x, 2 pictures, any small pair to the range of raising hands you'll already have. If you are called, you're in position, make a continuation bet it if it's checked to you. Somewhere around 1/2 - 2/3 of the pot will find out where you are. If it's bet into you you'll have to decide whether your hand is strong enough to continue on in the hand. Also some players see the button raise as an opportunity to call and bet out on the flop, if you have some notes on the player and think he might fold to a raise, have a go at it. Another way to steal in late position is to just call and bet out if the flop is checked to you (it is about 60-70% of the time). This is useful since you're risking far less (no raise preflop & betting less on the flop than if it was raised) so there's less chance of you going broke. Thats bout it for now, have fun stealing ;)

  10. Re: Cash game hands

left table. Getting a bit tight. Summary now. 813 hands in 10.67 hours $337.40 profit @ $33.56 per hour
Excellent stuff :clap You got an overall profit/loss table?
  11. Re: Cash game hands Nice run at the 5/10 game staffy :ok In middle of exams so haven't been on as much, some nice risky plays you're making there though :lol Keep it up mate

  12. Re: Bothe Ends SnG at Laddies Isn't there the problem that if multi players go out the first hand that the prize pool is split? Or does it really matter since your share should be bigger than the buyin?

  13. Re: Cash game hands

OK found that but they dont open.
Open up the Virgin Software Click Support - Hand History They should open up in the Virgin screen and you can copy/paste
  14. Re: Cash game hands

OK. Moved over to virgin to see how I get on there. Not sure where the hand history is and not got beta poker tracker yet, will look tomorrow when I have more time. Played 1 session initialy lost $33 so reloaded $50. Then turned that $50 into $113.17 so a profit of $30.09 overall. Was playing against some right fish so with very aggressive betting soon made some $. Shame I dont know how to do hand history some interesting pots.
    C://Poker/Virgin Poker/history :ok
  15. Re: 10,000 Hand Review

One question' date=' when you face a RR to your limps with middle pairs are you calling if the agressor is deep stacked and you think they will pay off a set? How much of a RR would you be willing to call?[/quote'] If the raiser is deepstacked and you feel he'll pay you off when you hit a set then I think the implied odds will cover any substantial raise. Was watching some more poker earlier on youtube and seen this from Sammy Farha; calls a 20*BB Raise out of position with 3-3 since he knew that if he hit his opponent would pay him off... Sammy busting Aces
  16. Re: Anyone fed up of poker. I get fed up sometimes, but mainly just after a bad run of cards. Personally however, after a successful tournament session I am completely mentally drained! This is the biggest deterrent for me for the moment.

  17. Re: Cash game hands

No' date=' it's time to reload and take the stupid ****er for all he is worth. GL mate[/quote'] Definitely Staffy dont be afraid to reraise your aces preflop also. Remember you want to get as much money in preflop as possible when you're still a 4:1 favourite. All 3 hands you've posted that donkey has called the whole way, as Crouch said, reload & sit tight, your time will come :ok
  18. Re: 10,000 Hand Review

Interesting - I'm more aggressive on the flop' date=' then get less so on the turn and again on the river ..... whilst you're less aggressive on the flop, but more so on the turn and river.....[/quote'] Put the both of you together and that's 1 scary poker player to come up against :loon :lol Congrats on both your stats btw :clap Edit: Btw, that is one FREAKISHLY large screen shot GaF
  19. Re: Joke A man came home from a poker game late one night and found his hideous harpy of a wife waiting for him with a rolling pin. "Where the hell have you been?" she asked. "You'll have to pack all your things, dear," he ad-libbed. "I've just lost you in a card game." "How did you manage to do that?" "It wasn't easy, honest. I had to fold a royal flush." Couldn't stop laughing at that :rollin
