Coventry should have had at least a draw but couldn't finish to save their lives, WBA score from a keeper error and an offside.

Same old story as in our last 3 or 4 games mate. Very poor in both boxes at the moment. We've conceded the first goal in our last 4 games so we are constantly on the back foot. And then missing sitters at the other end as well.

Like you said, keeper howler, then we miss a 1 on 1 to make it 1-1. Then a goal that was marginally offside kills the game. Fine margins.

  2. And you're also spot on with how strong the Championship is this season, definitely the toughest in a while. 3 really big sides relegated from the Premier League with a lot of money and parachute payments too. Ipswich came up and are flying. Plymouth haven't started too badly with a couple of good home wins, they'll give teams a game at home and they'll get the majority of their points at home. Norwich and Watford in their 2nd year of parachute payments have to kick on, Sunderland big club and playing really well. Such a brilliant league to be involved in 👍

    Morning mate.

Yeah, totally agree with you. I felt we started very strongly but the minute you scored your first goal it seemed to kick you boys into action. You seemed to be let down by a lot of loose passing as well. Not sure if it was the win or the wet surface but I felt like you gave us a lot of free throw-ins when you were in possession. It's still clear you're a very good team and I wouldn't be surprised if, provided you stay in or around the upper mid-table region, that you make a push for the play-offs again with a couple of January additions.

I was disappointed with the goals we conceded. The first wasn't really anything we could do from the actual shot but the corner came because Perry Ng was caught too narrow which allowed your winger to pull away and win the corner rather than Ng dealing with the aerial threat. That's proving a constant problem and the second was almost a carbon copy of our first goal in the respect of the poor marking and free header from close range. Dimitrios Goutas still struggles with balls over the top as well. Ryan Wintle is also experiencing a patchy start to the season in centre mid and if it wasn't for Manolis Siopis (who looks like the best signing since Peter Whittingham for us!) you would've caused us big problems in the middle.

Pleased for Jak Alnwick to make that save. He had to bide his time last season behind an under-performing Ryan Allsop (not sure why Steve Morison, Mark Hudson, Dean Whitehead, and Sabri Lamouchi all persisted with Allsop - nicknamed poppadom hands by our fans). He's pulled off some superb saves that have stopped goals and I'm not sure he really could've done much about either of your goals.

In summary, a pleasing win for us with a solid performance. Sunderland away up next in another very difficult game. Quickly realising how this does appear to be the toughest Championship season in quite some time.

Yeah totally agree mate. You're right and on the corner itself Godden was unmarked in the box and got the shot in on the turn.

That's exactly what we've got to do, try and stay in the top half by January and hopefully strengthen for a playoff push in the 2nd half of the season. After our first 7 games last season we were bottom of the league with 0 wins, 3 games in hand and only played 1 home game!  So hopefully a similar run to last season from now onwards 😀

Very difficult game at Sunderland for you guys. They've started the season really well. I love watching Jack Clarke play, great winger, really good at carrying the ball forward. You don't know if he'll cut in, go on the outside, pass, shoot, etc so he varies his game superbly. I hope you manage to get a result up there.

I'm fully expecting Erol Bulut to make changes to his Cardiff side after Saturday night's superb 2-0 win over Swansea. I can see Rubin Colwill, Ollie Tanner, Joe Ralls, and Kion Etete all coming in with the likes of Arron Ramsey, Manolis Siopis, Karlan Grant, and Yakou Meite potentially being rested. I hope he keeps the same back-line after keeping that clean sheet but he might rest a couple of them after they put in that solid shift.

I'm quietly optimistic we can win this one but the danger after winning such an emotionally charged game is that you'll get caught on the hop after it. I would consider a draw to be a very positive result for Cardiff so backing a draw is my hopeful bet at 23/10 with Bet365. @skyblues88, how are you feeling about this game? We couldn't even score against you last season so I'm hoping we rectify that tonight! I'll cry if you win 1-0 again! :lol

Hi mate, sorry I missed this. I wish I missed the game as well to be honest 😂  Very poor performance from us tonight. When you play poor, try and be solid defensively and don't give up silly goals, which we did!   Your centre back had a free header for the 1st, our wing back let Karlan Grant run off him for the 2nd, albeit a really good diving header by Grant. Then overcommitting and got done with the ball over the top for the 3rd. You proper punished us and had chances to score more. Your keeper made a really good save from Kasey Palmer at 2-1. Very good week for Cardiff so far, 2 home wins including the big derby win 👍

Really big home game for us against Huddersfield next Monday night. Could really do with a win to get the confidence back and go from there. Obviously losing Gyokores and Gus Hamer during the summer was a massive blow but the new signings need to kick on now and make an impact.

How did you see the game from a Cardiff point of view?
