  1. Re: FC Barcelona v Atlético de Madrid > Tuesday April 1st Barcelona have hit great form and have momentum going into this clash. You have to say it's a great opportunity for them to state their intent, not just for the CL but also the league. A good win here and they can forge a mental hold over Atletico. It obviously won't be easy here though as Atletico have proved to be very solid this season and recorded a fine win against Bilbao on Saturday night. There's a bit of value on Atletico double chance for me. I make it shorter than the 17/10 at Coral so small stakes on that for me. Hopefully a good game!

  2. Re: Manchester United v FC Bayern München > Tuesday April 1st Struggling to find any value in this contest and it will be a watching brief for me. I made Bayern 2/5 though I won't rush to back 1/2 as I tend not to back anything less than 8/13. I really feel Bayern ought to score a few, there's little in this Man Utd side that will scare Bayern and they can kill the tie tomorrow rather than in the 2nd leg. RVP, Mata and Evra missing just make things that bit harder.

  3. Re: Serie A > March 29th - 31st Livorno-Inter I don't really see any value in the Livorno-Inter game. I can not trust Inter enough to be backing them odds-on at present. Their draw with Udinese was pretty uninspiring and their only recent wins game at home to Torino [1-0] and away to Hellas [0-2]. The win in Verona was a pretty good result though they've since showed little. Livorno are in pretty average form and tough at home. Will leave this game alone. Udinese-Catania I'd go as far as saying there's probably value on the home side, despite odds of 8/11. I'd have made them shorter so will play that tonight. They held Inter at the San Siro last time and played well in Roma before their win over Sassuolo. Maicosuel and Bruno Fernandes miss but they're not important absentees just now. Catania haven't won away since February 2013 and miss some players here including Almiron, Spolli and Castro. Udinese should triumph and they're 8/11 at Ladbrokes.

  4. Re: La Liga > March 29th - 31st Had a go at pricing up tonights matches and like the odds of two draws. Betis take on a Malaga side in which they'd normally have a good chance of beating, but they have a pretty scary list of missing players tonight including Sevilla, Nosa, Didac, Amaya, Xavi Torres, Reyes and potentially Cedrick. Malaga miss Tissone (whom I believe is an important attacker for them), Duda and Perez. The away sides defeat at home to Espanyol last time was pretty uninspiring and they're stuggling to score. The home side are in better form and should not lose. 12/5 is available for the draw at a few firms. Granada are generally a decent home side though not high scorers and may find it tough to net against Levante. The home side are probably in a tad better form than Levante though not enough to merit odds on here. Levante been playing well away, ignoring defeats to Barcelona and Madrid, and should be ableto hold the hosts. 5/2 available at Bet365 for the draw.

  5. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread Yep. I've been going through patches for about a year now where I can get really excited about studying races, even a bog-standard Wednesday meeting at Wincanton, spend a couple of hours in the morning and happily pick a couple of bets. Then I'll go a few days where I sit down with a pen and paper, open the RP site and within five minutes lose all interest and switch it off. Pretty frustrating especially when we have racing like todays. I should add I tend to do with with other sports as well so maybe I'm just flawed :unsure

  6. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread Anyone else subscribed to the RP then felt totally over-whelmed by the information available? There's just so much there I don't know what to use. Ended up losing all motivation for studying todays races and never even had a bet on.

  7. Re: Serie A > March 25-27 Fore me there's value in going against Inter in some capacity. Not been convincing at all lately and Udinese's style may unsettle them. Guidolin's men scored twice away to Roma and head into this game with only Basta missing. The hosts should have Juan Jesus back in but I would not touch them at around 8/13. Small stakes on Udinese win at 6/1. Marked them up at around 4/1 so happy at that price.

  8. Re: BBOTD > Wednesday March 26th 2.40 Exeter - Jackies Solitaire - 1pt win 12/1 Coral A pretty intriguing, good sized field handicap here and I like the Anthony Honeyball trained mare Jackies Solitaire. She came off a long break last time and was 38l behind at Kempton but she's entitled to have needed the run and should be more tuned up here. She scored in a novice chase at Warwick easily before pulling up in a valuable handicap at Ascot before the break. Going back further she was 7th in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham in 2012 so that shows some obvious ability, albeit over hurdles. She's only 6 so there's plenty of time for improvement. Aidan Coleman takes the ride and that's not a bad thing at all.

  9. I was looking a creating a basic template I can utilise for certain handicaps similar to this: 3.10 Madeupland -Going-Trip-Course-Mark ------------------------------------------------- Myhorse------------?----x----?-----? Horseyface---------x----?-----x-----? Hoof it Neighbother Toein Etc.. Can anyone help with which program would be the easiest to set such a thing up and easiest to use? Cheers.

  10. Re: BBOTD 25th March 2.10 Fontwell - Marmalade Man - 1pt win 11/4 BetFred BOG Marmalade Man makes appeal in this conditional/amateur jockeys handicap. He’s still a maiden though was well backed last time over course and distance, finishing 2nd to the evens favourite Solstace Son who has since went on to win again. The cheek-pieces remain on and he should be in with a real shot here.

  11. Re: BBOTD > Monday March 24th 3.50 Taunton - Possibly Flora - 1pt win 4/1 Stan James BOG The Richard Woollacott trained mare Possibly Flora is on a competitive mark and should go well here at Taunton. She's not had a lot of running on good ground and it may just give that extra bit of improvement needed. Two places here near the start of the year shows she likes the course too. She off a nice little break here. She was behind one of this races fancies Milosam by just over a length in December, giving him 6lbs. She's now receiving 4lb so it's entirely possible she get's the better of the fav.

  12. Re: BBOTD > Saturday March 22nd 2.40 Lingfield - Monsieur Joe - 20/1 Bet365 0.5pt EW This Paul Midgley trained gelding is in at an attractive price here for me. He's been running fairly well in Meydan this year and on his best form should be in with a shot. He can handle the polytrack and shown before and although he hasn't quite showed the form in the UK, is evidently a high quality animal. William Buck is on board and for me that's always a plus.

  13. Re: Newcastle United v Crystal Palace > Saturday March 22nd Newcastle v Crystal Palace - Palace win - 7/2 Stan James Newcastle, as usual it seems, have some important injury concerns heading into this clash against a tough Palace side. Obertan, Remy, Debuchy, Santon and Taylor miss out for the Toon. They find themselves in a position where they have very little to play for. They're 9th place seems pretty secure, yet they probably won't be challenging for a European spot either. Motivation is a worry and to make matters worse their boss Pardew can't enter the stadium. Palace have showed real improvement under the safety expert Pulis and should recognise this as a real opportunity to gain an invaluable three points.

  14. Re: Manchester City v Fulham > Saturday March 22nd Man City v Fulham - Fulham +2.00 AH - 4/3 BetVictor City head into this clash with captain Vincent Kompany missing from the side. He is a big part of this City side and is always missed. Demichelis should partner Lescott or Garcia at the back and it presents an opportunity for Fulham. The Londoners recorded a boosting 2-1 win over Newcastle last time and head into this game with no direct pressure at all. City must keep winning to compete with Chelsea and will be cautious of slipping up. Given the set up of the clash there is some value in Fulham staying within a goal or two of City for me.

  15. Re: Hull City v West Bromwich Albion > Saturday March 22nd Hull City v WBA - Over 2.5 goals - 13/10 BetVictor Hull are a rather inconsistent side and it's hard to know what to expect from them. You can usually trust them to net at home when expected though. They face a WBA side which should find new confidence from their first win under Pepe Mel last time out away to Swansea. West Brom have generally played well since the arrival of their new coach and the win would have came as a relief to everyone at the club under the new regime. The sit only three points above safety though so they know it's important to kick on from that. Yacob, Lugano, Brunt, Amalfitano and Olsson miss out for the Baggies. Hull set up without McShane, Brady and the suspended Boyd. Both sides have attacking potential, and are more likely to press the game rather than sit and play for an important point. Overs looks a nice price here.

  16. Re: Everton v Swansea City > Saturday March 22nd Everton v Swansea - Everton win - 4/6 Bet365 Everton 2-0 Swansea - 7/1 Bet365 Everton are playing mainly for 5th place at present and should be looking to take advantage of their home games in the process. Here they face a Swansea side which always presents an element of danger, yet aren't in form to speak of and will do well to gain anything from this clash. The Swans put in reputable performances against Napoli in Europe but they've not really been transferring that form into their domestic clashes. Everton meanwhile are ever so solid, especially at home. These two played at Goodison in the FA Cup last month and Everton won 3-1. Swansea are the type of side which could bounce back at any time, I just don't see this clash presenting a likely opportunity and the home side should triumph.

  17. Re: Cardiff City v Liverpool > Saturday March 22nd Cardiff v Liverpool - Over 3.5 goals - 7/5 BetVictor Cardiff have showed some definite improvement since the 4-0 defeat at the hands of Hull, yet it's hard to make a case for them against a flying Liverpool side. Brendan Rodgers has finally got this side playing the way he planned to when he joined two years ago. They are genuine title challengers and must continue to rack up the points here. They will be aware of the result in the clash between their main rivals by kick-off time here, I think Chelsea will prevail in that game, so I'm playing partly on that outcome. It will probably help The Reds focus even more-so. Given Cardiff's encouraging performances, and Liverpool's red hot attacking form, I see goals here and over 3.5 makes appeal.

  18. Re: Chelsea v Arsenal > Saturday March 22nd Chelsea v Arsenal - Chelsea win - 10/11 Ladbrokes Chelsea can put another big dent in Arsenal's title challenge with a win here and they should be capable of achieving the points. The home side sealed their passage into the Champions League quarters on Tuesday with a convincing performance and should be in a very positive mood. Ramires and Willian miss though suspension, both big players but not as sorely missed as I believe Ramsey, Wilshere and Ozil are for Arsenal. Mourinho knows how to get his sides up for these games and it goes to show with their home record against the other top sides so far. They have beat Liverpool, Manchester City, Everton, Manchester Utd, Southampton and Tottenham at home this term. Arsenal on the other hand only beat one of they sides; Tottenham. Yet to travel to play Everton as well. Chelsea should have too much for Arsenal.

  19. Re: Manchester United v Olympiacos > Wednesday March 19th

Luckily for United' date=' Olympiakos are crap too so they do have a good chance of getting through tonight, I don't think he is mad at all, that is just his opinion. As crap as the season has been, United have performed well in the Champions League games this season, won all 3 at home and beat Leverkusen 5-0 away. Beat Leverkusen, Shakhtar and Socieded at home, 3 sides that are better than Olympiakos. I have also backed United to qualify tonight @ 2/1, and I haven't had a bet on us probably since September, feeling quite confident they can turn this tie around. As for Mata, how can he be criticised, he has come into a squad with no management, organisation, structure or belief, what do you expect him to do?[/quote'] How can you just shrug off the Greek champions as 'crap'? They earned four points from two clashes with Benfica, brushed aside Anderlecht and put up a good performance against PSG. They also beat Man Utd 2-0... They're 18 points clear in their league and although it's not the most competitive of leagues, they're still against some good sides.
