Re: Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase > Wednesday March 11th @ 4:00pm There's many with chances here and to be honest there's only a couple I'd totally rule out. At the prices HEY BIG SPENDER looks a fair EW bet at 33/1. He pulled away from subsequent GN trial winner Lie Forrit at Newcastle last year and put in some other fair efforts too. He is off a tough mark here but can't be dismissed for me. ARE YA RIGHT CHIEF comes off a near year-long break but could be on a nice mark and makes interest if ready for the in form Willie Mullins. He's still unexposed over the marathon trip and at 33/1 is worth a go.

Re: Queen Mother Champion Chase > Wednesday March 11th @ 3:20pm This is a fiesty affair but I make SIRE DE GRUGY the pick at the odds of 3/1. He recovered easily from that fall at Newbury. He's proved it all and it's quite hard to pick holes in any of the form. SIZING EUROPE was an impressive winner of the Punchestown Champions Chase in April and represents some EW value at 33/1. The old fellas has done it all before and appears in good spirits while not dealing with the heavy ground at Clonmel last time.

Re: Coral Cup Hurdle > Wednesday March 11th @ 2:40pm Was puling my hair out trying to price this up and found a few of interest at the prices. My two bets however will be, first of all, BARADARI for Venetia Williams and Aidan Coleman of which won a good grade two at Ascot when last seen. The gelding ran well in the Fred Winter here last year and is probably still on a decent mark, 16/1 is good enough for me. Secondly HISAABAAT looks a fair EW bet at 25/1 given the form of old including some grade one novice wins. Can go well if tuned up after below par appearance at Leopardstown and has the first time visor.

Re: The RSA Steeple Chase > Wednesday March 11th @ 2:05pm There's some classy looking, progressive animals going toe-to-toe here and at the prices I'm going to side with AP McCoy's mount IF IN DOUBT. The Hobbs trained runner scored nicely in a listed Doncaster event when last seen following up a cosy Catterick success. He's open to as much progress as any other here and is definite value at 12/1. WOUNDED WARRIOR relished the step up to 3m last time when scoring with ease at Naas and is fair each-way value at 13/1 as well. Looks a type which can come on again for the test.

Re: Neptune Novices' Hurdle > Wednesday March 11th @ 1:30pm Some promising types here but for me PARLOUR GAMES is the way to go and this one can get McCoy his first win of the festival. The John Ferguson gelding scored nicely here in a G2 novice in November before piping Vyta Du Roc at Newbury. The course form could prove big here and the 6/1 on offer looks good to me.

Re: Rewards4Racing Novices' Handicap Chase > Tuesday March 10th @ 5:15pm Very open race this and there's two at the prices I like. DROMNEA I marked up a good bit shorter. The Mouse Morris trained gelding scored a couple of good wins at Limerick and Fairyhouse before staying on at Navan and comes here open to improvement in a handicap. The trainer knows all about Cheltenham and this one is too big at 50/1. IRISH CAVALIER goes with the first time cheek-pieces for Rebecca Curtis and was a good 3rd here in January. He's only up 2lb for that and can improve for the headgear. 14/1 is a fair enough price in my book.

Re: National Hunt Steeple Chase > Tuesday March 10th @ 4:40pm This could be a good one to watch and there's two for me at the prices. THEATRE QUEEN drew clear over a marathon distance at Stratford last year and could relish this test. The Mark Wall trained mare ran at Doncaster last week and probably blew her chance from the start by falling behind but still ran on for fourth. She looks and out and out stayer and is a big price if behaving at 33/1. BROADWAY BUFFALO is another of interest. Katie Walsh's mount fell when still in with a chance last time out and can still go on over fences. He scored comfortably in a Haydock C2 handicap previously and looks talented. Happy to take around 20/1.

Re: Mares' Hurdle > Tuesday March 10th @ 4:00pm Annie Power is miles ahead on known form and rightly a short-ish price but taking an odds-on shot that's coming back from a lengthy lay-off due to injury isn't for me. BITOFAPUZZLE looks a promising type and won a similarly named OLBG Mares Hurdle when last seen in January. She was piped at Haydock before-hand but can still improve for Harry Fry and is a value price at 25/1 in my book. I'm going to take a chance on Leighton Aspell's mount though, MISCHIEVOUS MILLY gives me the impression we haven't quite seen the best of her and the first time cp should help her along. At 66/1 she's worth a bet to win and each-way.

Re: Stan James Champion Hurdle > Tuesday March 10th @ 3:20pm I don't have a strong view on this race but I think HURRICANE FLY has to be of interest at around 10/1. He's a tough sort and despite losing to Jezki here last year has looked impressive again in Ireland and would relish a fight to the line. KITTEN ROCK is a big price and will be my bet of the race with small stakes at 33/1. The gelding is taking a big step up in company here but has looked talented so far and could prove to be a lively one.

Re: Festival Handicap Steeple Chase > Tuesday March 10th @ 2:40pm This one is as wide open as you would expect. PENDRA for me is the correct favourite and not a bad price but not as attractive as some others I like. MENDIP EXPRESS ran well in defeat at Aintree in December and doesn't have as much to prove as others here. The Harry Fry runner was disappointing at Bangor last time but I wouldn't be put off from that run, which may just have been done to help tune him up. Ths horse won here n January of last year and makes appeal at available odds of 16/1. BLACK THUNDER has a task on his hand from top weight here but Sean Bowen's claim can help a tad. The gelding scored easily at Sandown after been narrowly piped at Ascot over 3m beforehand and stayed on behind the impressive Many Clouds last time. 20/1 is big. And finally TENOR NIVERNAIS could be on a decent mark here despite slightly struggling recently. Venetia Williams has opted for first time cheek-peices here and if that keeps him focused he can be a good EW bet here at 40/1.

The former won the Ryanair novice chase at Punchestown then stayed on from subsequent 86k Ascot chase winner Balder Succes in an Exeter G2. He should relish this test and is clearly a talented horse. He's had a break since a couple of disappointing efforts at the tail-end of the year and can be thereabouts here. -

Re: Supreme Novices' Hurdle > Tuesday March 10th @ 1:30pm If Douvan lives upto the hype then he'll hose up here but is probably to short for me and there's two I marked up shorter than the prices on offer. BENTELIMAR is a proven type and has shown stamina in some of his runs including a handicap win at Leopardstown over 20f. He's been seen more often than most of these rivals but can't assume he's exposed and can still come on again. Scored pretty easily at Punchestown last time and is big at the 25/1 on offer. SEEDLING for Warren Greatrex is another at a price of 20/1 that can outrun the odds. He sees his races out really well and this test could irk out even more improvement. Admittedly his recent form has been in modest company but can't be discounted on that for me.

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread Made my belated racecourse visit yesterday, taking in the fixture at Ayr. Not the best card and some small fields but an enjoyable day and it was definitely an eye-opener. Watching these animals at close quarters and understanding just how brave the jockeys are. It's rather infectious I'd say, already looking for another opportunity at a different course. Perth for the April meeting looks a definite goer!

Re: Ladbrokes World Championships > Ante-Post Betting My bet is Mervyn King readily available at 66/1 on sportsbooks and 80/1 on the exchange. He's had a cracking year and even admitted himself it's the form of his life. Won the European Grand Prix, reached the Grand Slam semi-finals, the European Championship semis and the Edinburgh Masters final. He's very composed and can be deadly on those doubles. A right scrapper when needed too. Wright is another of interest at 40/1. His composure can be huge at a tournament like this (as we seen last year). He's not on the best of form but he can raise his game for this occasion. They're my value bets at least.

Re: Up,Down,Level Rotten festival. Gave up after day two really. Djakadam could have fixed it al but it wasn't to be. Give me Huntingdon and class four hurdles anyday.
