  1. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 23rd November What does anyone think of the Arsenal - Dortmund game? Both teams are on a great run recently, Arsenal winning 6 league games in a row including at Chelsea while Dortmund are starting to find their feet after a slow start to their league defence including beating Bayern Munich in their own back garden at the weekend. Hard one to call? Thought???

  2. Re: Tennis - ATP World Tour Finals

:welcome G-Dav I think I might go for Tipsarevic. Berdych looked absolutely crest-fallen at the end of the match against Djokovic, and Tipsy will come in with nothing to lose swinging away. Berdych played unbelievable to beat him in Paris but I think the hangover from the Djokovic match will lead to subdued performance and if he's flat I think Tipsy wins.
Fancy Tipsarevic myself, think he would have fancied getting at least a couple of games with injuries to Fish, Djokovic & Rafa coming in to the tournament, plus with Murray getting crocked yesterday I would think Tipsy would be both physically & mentally prepared. As Slider says i think the way Berdych lost to Nole will have a negative affect on him, and will have drained him emotionally. Add to this Tips good record against the Czech including 3 out of the last 4 matches since last September makes the 2.80 on offer from Pinnacle seem too good to pass up. :hope
  3. Re: Tennis - ATP World Tour Finals

Hindsight? It was always a superbet' date=' did you not watch him vs Mardy Fish? Diabolical.[/quote'] Yeah but I didn't want to risk £200 on Fed for him to win 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 and me lose my bet. You can't discount the record Rafa has against Fed and that's what was in the back of my mind. Really fancied Roger to win that's why I backed him strongly but happy with £100 extra to play with. :nana
  4. Re: Tennis - 7-13 November Early one for tomorrow.......... - Tsonga (v Djokovic in Paris) @ 2.02 with Pinnacle (8/10) Tsonga is one of the very few players apart from Rafa & Fed who has a winning record against Novak. Granted he has been beaten twice this year by Djokovic but the Serb has basically beaten everyone this year anyway. I have watched some of Djokovic's match last week in Basel & this week in Paris and he is clearly struggling with his shoulder injury and no where near his best. His serve in particular has been very week as shown today by his win over Troicki today where he was broken 4 times and survived many other break points. As for Tsonga he is playing some great tennis at the moment winning two indoor compo's in the last few weeks in Vienna & Metz. With the home crowd behind him in the night game and as the last remaining French hope I think he has the power to beat Djokovic and will be backing him accordingly. :hope

  5. Re: Darts: Grand Slam of Darts 2011 My money is going on Scottie Waites, 25-1 with Betfred. Defending champion and in good form, he really likes this tournament to show the PDC what he can do. Always hard to look padt Taylor but no value to be had backing him in this format where he has struggled in the past.

  6. Re: Tennis - 7-13 November Shocking performance by Llodra, I had him done as a single & in a treble for the day. 5 set points to take the 1st set and he blew them all and then got thumped in the 2nd despite a bit of a comeback.:wall For a player who is usually so good on volleying, some of his net shots were terrible. I had backed him at 1.9 but he had come in to around 1.67 before the match started but it's back to the drawing board!

  7. Re: Euro 2012 Playoffs > Friday 11th November Also agree with MPLouis that Rep of Ireland are a good bet, i saw Estonia first hand at Windsor Park vs Northern Ireland and also watched the away game in Tallinn on TV. On both occasions silly mistakes by the N. Ireland team gave them goals. We played them off the pitch in the 1st half at home and we were missing 2 of our best players and they didn't impress me. They certainly played above their level to qualify from the group ahead of Serbia & Slovenia and to qualify would be step too far imo. Ireland will have too much quality particularly up front so i'm backing them strongly. Ireland to win 7/5 Boylesport 8/10 Ireland 2-0 9/1 Ladbrokes 4/10 Doyle first goal 13/2 Bet365 4/10

  8. Re: Tennis - 31 October - 6 November

Hi all :cheers Fancy Tipsarevic today at the Evens available. I don't like to oppose Mayer as he's an awkward player to play at times, but hate that 22% receiving points won stat in his last match and sticking with Janko here 2/10
Luckily I backed Tipsarevic with VC and the match was deemed a void, the other 2 selections are still in play :nana. Those who backed him with Pinnacle had a bit of a sweat as if the 1st set was finished it was curtains, especially as Mayer had at least 1 match point. You really got to watch with retirements this time of the year, can be very costly!!!
  9. Re: Tennis - 31 October - 6 November

Almagro is carrying an injury' date=' its why nobody is going near him. He may well come through but lots of whispers that he isnt 100% fit (shoulder). Be careful.[/quote'] Where did you hear such things??? The brute has just lost the first set and unless he makes a good come back i'll be taking a big hit today! :wall
  10. Re: Tennis - 31 October - 6 November Nicola Almagro (-2.5 games) to beat Juan Monaco - Evens Bodog- (8/10) This is my eyes is the bet of the day and i'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet on here. Almagro comes into this game on the back of his best ever year, in more or less his home area (he is from Murcia a couple of hours drive down the coast from Valencia) and with a great shout of making his first ever ATP World Tour Finals (he is 9th only 505 points behind Mardy Fish & 520 behind J-W Tsonga in 7th & 8th respectively). This is a big tournament for him and to prepare he has taken a few weeks off since Shanghai. Although more of a clay courter, Almagro has had some decent results on hard this year including R16 in Australia, QF in Montreal & Kuala Lumpar however I think he will have too much for Monaco who is not comfortable on the hard at all. The H2H reads 5-1 to Almagro although most of these were on the red stuff but I fully expect a routine win today, i'm going to hit him big!!! GL to all!! :ok

  11. Re: England » Barclays Premier League » Oct 29-31 Thx for the answer Pin! You just have to pick a team that wins, if you draw or lose you are out. The 1st few weeks everyone has picked the big teams, Man U, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea etc but you are only allowed to pick the same team once. The benefit of picking Norwich would be I would be able to select Spurs in another week but with only 9 left it won't go on too much longer. I'm torn between who is the best bet??? Decisions........Decisions!!!!

  12. Re: England » Barclays Premier League » Oct 29-31 Hi lads i'm looking a bit of advise, i'm down to the last 9 in a Soccer Busters / Last Man Standing compo with my golf society. We are in week 6 and the best two options that I have free to pick this week are Norwich @ home to Blackburn or Spurs @ home to QPR. At the moment i'm stuck between which one to pick, do I go Norwich who have been playing well, especially at home and against a team in turmoil (especially after the Mighty Toon beat them tonight) or go for the safer option of Spurs although they seem weak at the back and QPR have the players to put in a big performance? I fancy most of the others will go for Spurs but with a 1st price of £400 it's a big decision. I'm swaying towards Norwich but was just wanting to know what the big punters on here would do? :ok

  13. Re: England » Barclays Premier League » Oct 22/23

As Phantom says NUFC aren't a great price but I think they will win easily. I'm a NUFC fan and have watched nearly every game this season, the whole squad are playing for each other and look steady at the back and lethal up front. I expect Santon to come in and make his debut in place of Simpson tomorrow and that alone will add strangth to the defence as Simpson has been the weak link since last year. Tiote & Cabaye work very well in the midfield and the front two of Best & Ba are feeding off each other but have other forwards such as Shola & Ben Arfa breathing down their necks keeping them on their toes. Newcastle to win @ 8/13 Tote 10/10 :nana Newcastle to win 3-1 @ 12-1 Skybet 5/10 Cabaye to score anytime @ 9/2 Skybet 5/10 :nana :ok:ok:ok:ok:ok:ok:ok:ok:ok:ok:ok
A few quid earned tonight, only for Leicester getting chinned at home I would have had a monster bet up ffs!
  14. Re: England » Barclays Premier League » Oct 22/23

I know Newcastle have had a fantastic start to the season' date=' but 1.62 is a shockingly short price in my opinion. I know Wigan and Newcastle have had contrasting starts to the season but I really don't think any side outside the "big six" deserve such a short price at home in the Premier League.[/quote'] As Phantom says NUFC aren't a great price but I think they will win easily. 15. Re: PL Golf Competition Week 39

    Madrid H Stenson 50/1 S Wakefield 75/1 US T Gainey 55/1
Had Tommy Two gloves done last week E/W @ 90/1, got me a few quid!:ok This week i'm taking a punt on :- Madrid Nicolas Colsaerts 20/1 @ Betfred - Big Hitter course should suit, had a great year one of the most improved players. Frys Paul Goydos 60/1 @ Betfred - as a few people have said some great recent results and big odds considering. Steven Ames 100/1 @ Sportingbet - Three great rounds last week in Vegas, just let down by his opening round. Good E/W shout!
  16. Re: England > Weekend > League 1 > 1 October

Huddersfield AH0 1.93 Pinnacle 6/10 I see a good chance to see a Huddersfield win @ Brentford, but I like to cover the X since Huddersfield has 6 draws so far. However they are hard to beat. Home side is average at home and didn´t have too many tough fixtures yet. Whenever they met a decent side, they lost (Sheffield Utd. and Preston). Huddersfield played Sheffield Utd, MK Dons and Hartlepool away and didn´t lose. Fair odds and I´ll take a little higher stake than usual. Gl
Those dirty dogs Huddersfield knocked my 5 teamer last week for £230, 2 nil up with 5 mins to go and conceeded 2 ffs. Saying that they are very hard to beat. Like the look of PNE as well! :ok

ReasoningAlmagro as Sapniard is a typical claycourter he played 41 matches on that kind of surface so far this season, so I can't see him as a big favourite on fast surface like that in Malaysia. Nishikori prefers most hard court, his big success in the past is on that kind of surface. These two never played before so I think Nishikori may be surpirse of the day his recent results are very good in close time.
Great shout Totse, had a good wee lift of this. Slow start but once Nishikori got ahead there was no looking back. Well done m8! :ok
