  1. Re: Golf: PGA Tour 2012 - Hyundai Tournament of Champions

Gary Woodland to win 2pts @ 18 Betfair I took this price yesterday but unfortunately it seems to have gone now. Kapalua is wide open off the tee and this allows the players to let rip, that should suit the big hitting Woodland down to the ground. Woodland was hugely impressive last year, after losing in playoff to J Vegas he won a few weeks later at the Transitions, contended numerous times before rounding off the year by winning the World Cup with Matt Kuchar. Woodland seems a very determined and serious young man so he should be looking for a fast start to the season.
Gary Woodland @ 16-1 Skybet 5pts Agree with you Dougal, I think Woodland looks very good for this tournament, great finish to the end of the year winning the World Cup and his length of the tee will really suit this course. I'm expecting a birdie feat! Only got him at 16's myself but was happy enough to back him.

I almost feel embarrassed.. I think it's jackpot!!!
Good call Undertaker! Just off the phone to my mate and he had Newcastle, Bolton & Barca -2, £5 has given him over £400. Lucky Twat! My own bet was beat as done both teams to score in Newcastle game but happy as a pig in the brown stuff tonight with that win! Giraldo vs Simon - Giraldo to Win @ 15/8 with BetFred - 4 Points Pretty confident on this one, Simon is living off his name, he isn't the player that beat Nadal 2-3 years back and he has been in diabolical form recently, 2011 was certainly a year not to remember for the Frenchman. Giraldo however, much the opposite, a very improved player and showed he was a force to be reckoned with on all surfaces. Very tricky guy to deal with Giraldo and I can see Simon having lots of slumps based on his current form, enough to allow Giraldo enough joy to capatalise on and win.
Just a wee note on this myself, had watched a lot of Simon last year on the ATP tour and his form was very poor and inconsistent and on another day i would agree with you. However he won the Bilbao Masters in mid December beating Verdasco, Almagro & Lopez in straight sets and showing the form that had him at No. 6 in the world a couple of years ago so i think i would fancy Simon more with Pinnacle @ 1.52 (7/10) or in a tasty double with Gasquet.

    SportTennis
    EventBlaz Kavcic - Steve Darcis
    Selection2
    Strength10/10
    Date03/01/2012
    Bookmaker/PriceBetclic @ 1.80
ReasoningIn the first round of the ATP Chennai (India, hard) lefty Blaz Kavcic from Slovenia will take on righty Steve Darcis from Belgium. Kavcic is currently ranked 92nd and after taking a quick look at his career he looks like a claycourt player but that didn`t stop him to finishe the 2011 season with a 15-7 record on hardcourt. He won a challenger last season, but it was on clay. Darcis, one promicing player with a very decent serve and few weapons at his disposal, ranking 88th right now (career high 44th in 2008) and ending the 2011 season with a some important wins against players like Davydenko, Llodra and Petzschner. Counting the fact that this will be the first meeting between the two, I will pick Darcis in this one who looks as the better competitor on hardcourt, mainly because he played more then Kavcic so far in his career and of course his playing style.
Some comeback from the Belgian today, 1 set down and 1-5 down in the 2nd he won 9 games in a row to win 4-6, 7-5, 6-3! :nana Darcis was the last in a tasty £20 quad with Nieminen, Gasquet & Bachinger to give me a nice wee lift at the start of the tennis year! Hope it continues!!!
  5. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 30 Dec-1 Jan Liverpool vs Newcastle Utd Ba to score at anytime 11/4 - Skybet I think you have to like the look of this, Ba has scored 14 in the last 13 PL games and is in red hot form. Think the bookies have been sucked in by the fact Newcastle haven't scored a goal at Anfield since 2004-05. However with the form Ba is in an, taking into account he hits the penalties & free kicks (after he scored that screamer against West Brom) and Liverpool have conceeded home goals against teams such as Norwich, Blackburn, Wolves, Sunderland & Bolton then i reckon it's a good bet. If Newcastle score it will most likely be Ba, and considering he was 4/5 in the last match against Bolton to score anytime then 11/4 looks generous!

  6. Re: 2012 LADBROKES WORLD DARTS CHAMPIONSHIP.

I think you have got to like the look of the Field vs Taylor @ Evs with Stan James. Certainly no one can doubt Taylor pedigree, 15 World Titles, 60 something majors in the PDC and basically the best ever player to throw a dart. HOWEVER!!! He is beatable, particularly over the last year and even money for every other player in the tournament is some price. Taylor lost to Webster in last years World's, Lewis in the Premier League SF & Nicholson in the UK Open. Other players have run him very close and with the ever increasing number of top players in the PDC such as Lewis, Anderson, Wade, Webster, Chisnall, Nicholson & Pipe to name a few I think Even money is too good to turn down. Taylor will have to get through potentially Dudbridge/Chisnall, Hylton/A. Hamilton & Barney/Nicholson by the QF when it will be your pick of the other big guns. I think there is a definitely case for Taylor losing one of the earlier rounds and your money made well before the final!
Hope some ppl followed me on this tip? Great play by Chizzy tonight!
  7. Re: England > Boxing Day > Barclays Premier League > 26-27 December

  8. Re: England > Boxing Day > Barclays Premier League > 26-27 December

Bolton is a very poor home team with 1 win and 7 loses. Sure they won against Blackburn, but Newcastle is a much much better team than Blackburn. The only concern for me is the is the injury situation in Newcastle, anyone knows which players will be missing?
Newcastle will have Cabaye back from suspension and he will add a lot to the midfield which was all at sea along with the defence on Wednesday night. Tiote will be pleased to have him back and with only Santon (knee) a worry except from the long term absentees S. Taylor, Marveaux & Guthrie. The team will probably be ; - Krul, Simpson, Santon/Taylor, Collo, Perch, Obertan, Cabaye, Tiote, Jonas, Best/HBA, Ba We were very unlucky against Swansea and then on Wednesday nite West Brom keep hitting us with sucker punches on the break with Long/Odenwinge up front. NUFC had a couple of goals chalked off, hit the bar and Foster made a few good saves and at the moment we just aren't getting the breaks. However I don't expect the same attacking force from Bolton who have Ngog & Klasnic and maybe Davies and think we will get a result? Saying that Newcastle have a terrible record on Boxing Day with 6 defeats & 3 draws out of the last 9 years. 2001/02 was the last win on Boxing day against Middlesborough so it's a hard one to call. Both teams are conceeding goals for fun at the moment so it's likely to see goals and the way Ba is playing he looks like scoring every time he gets the ball. Therefore my selections would be ; - Bolton - Newcastle Draw 15/8 Skybet 6pts 2-2 Draw 14/1 Betfred 3pts Ba to score first 5/1 Paddy Power 4pts
  9. Re: England > Midweek > Barclays Premier League > 20-22 December

Newcastle v West Brom I advise not to bet on the outrights here....Newcastle like Wolves are too unpredictable to bet on. However there a couple of things I would bet on in this game. All games between Newcastle and West Brom are goal fests. Both teams have scored on the last 7 fixtures between the 2. While both teams may have better defences now I still feel both teams will score. 6 of them 7 fixtures have also had over 2.5 goals in them and I feel that is the way to go. Also when the teams are announced if Lovenkrands and/or Tchoyi are starting get money on them to score anytime. Lovenkrands has scored every time he has played against West Brom while Tchoyi scored 4 goals against Newcastle last season. Most Players have teams they always score against these seem to be theres My Bets Both Teams to Score @ 1.66 Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.80 Lovenkrands Anytime Goalscorer @ 3.00 Tchoyi Anytime Goalscorer @ 4.50
Sorry to sh*t on your selections you but Tchoyi isn't playing, he is away on paternity leave following the recent birth of his child and Lovenkrands will struggle to get into the 18 man squad never mind onto the pitch. He didn't make the 18 on Sat vs Swansea along with Alan Smith and although Cabaye is out with suspension he may make the squad but will struggle to get on in front of Sammy/Shola Ameobi, Ben Afra or Vuckic. Still fancy us to beat West Brom tonight, having Tiote & Collo back in the last match really made the difference and only for some lady luck and good goalkeeping Swansea would have been buried by half time. Ba was very unlucky to score at least two on Saturday and looks a class act, especially as a freebie. He always looks like scoring and takes the penalties as well. My tips therefore ; - Ba to score first 9-2 Bwin - 5/10 Ba & Newcastle Wincast 8-5 WH - 10/10 Newcastle to win 3-1 15-1 Unibet - 4/10
  10. Re: 2012 PDC World Darts Championship

Mervyn King vs Geoff Kime- Under 14.5 legs- 5/6 Bluesquare- (3/10) Fancy King to win this one comfortably but taken the unders instead of the handicap as a bit of insurance. This bet will be fine if King wins this easily like most expect, but if he has one really poor set, which from time to time he is capable of, but then comes back after the break and blows his Aussie opponent off the stage then this line could still come into play. King though is playing better these days and scoring well which should be enough to win this one in comfortable fashion. He reached the quarters last week in the Players Championship, and if he plays how he did there, he should more a couple of levels above his opponent here. .
Good call on King fishy, got back the money I lost on Hamilton with the handicap!:notworthy
  11. Re: 2012 PDC World Darts Championship

Day 5, Player to throw the most 180s of night Per Laursen @ 14/1 Paddy Power 2pts This is pretty good value.Per should see off Korte relatively comfortably and more than capable of hitting 1 0r 2 maximums.Up next would be Wade and as laursen showed last year he seems to rise to the occasion.Another 4 or 5 is possible and there's no one tonite who scares me to threaten that.Wade himself is horrible to rely on when it comes to trebles and Hamilton,Painter,King,Monk dont fill me with confidence. The best thing is even if Laursen plays horribly there is the consolation of seeing his amazing daughter
I see what you mean about his daughter! Absolute cracker!!! :clap

  13. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 7th December

Man City v Bayern Munich - MAN CITY @ 4/7 Last chance saloon for Man City to try and scrape through. Nothing less than a win will do. They will live in hope that Villarael can avoid defeat at home to Napoli. Lille v Trabzonspor - LILLE @ 4/9 A win for Lille and they are through. They have 2 good creative midfielders in Eden Hazard and Joe Cole. Fairly solid at home. They'll make home advantage count to go through. Dinamo Zagreb v Lyon - LYON @ 5/6 Big ask for Lyon to qualify (need to win, hope Ajax lose, and overturn 7 goal difference). They can do their part by winning in Zagreb. Zagreb have defenders missing and Lyon will be going for goals. Basel v Man Utd - MAN UTD @ 1/2 Man Utd need a draw to go through. A draw would leave a very nervy ending. Man Utd will go for this and do a professional job on Basel. £10 Acca would return £62.40 R.Madrid have great value @ 5/4. In the posts above their squad still looks pretty good. Inter may already be through but 17/10 at home is big. They will not want to disappoint their home fans anymore.
Don't know who you are betting with but your getting poor prices! Man Utd at least 4/6 with most firms while Man City are pretty much the same, 4/6! Would boost your acca a good bit!
  14. Re: Tennis - November 28 to December 4

For those big punters looking to make an easy small return look no further than Spain @ 1/4 with VC to win the Davis Cup. I know some people will come on saying that there is no such thing as easy money but I honestly can't see Spain getting beat at home in clay with the team they have. Rafa is unplayable by anyone on clay with the exception of Djokovic at his peak especially over 5 sets, Ferrer is one of the most inform players at the moment and clay is his favourite surface and Verdasco & Lopez are both very handy players on their day. Spain has all 4 players in the top 24 in the world including 2 in the top 5 and also beat Argentina in their own backyard in the final in 2008 without Nadal. The Argies team although not bad compared to most countries won't be able to compete and even Del Potro has come out and said on clay this is probably the best ever team!!! VC are offering great odds compared to everyone else who is either 1/6 or 1/7 and i'm going to be hitting them BIG!!!!! :ok

  15. Re: Tennis - November 28 to December 4

Ferrer to beat Del Potro -3.5 games @ 10/11 Paddy Power Have to disagree with you Slider I think Ferrer is a worthy favourite against Del Potro and i'm backing him at -3.5 games. Although i appreciate your points I think Ferrer has had more or less a week off since the O2 which is more than adequate in re-charging the batteries. These players are used to playing week in week out. If this was on a hard court I would think differently but Del Potro wont have anywhere near the same power on clay and this plays into Ferrer's hands. In a baseline rally the Spaniard has the guile & experience to work openings that very few players on the ATP tour can. The fact Ferrer has done so well on the hard court / indoor phrase of the season shows just how well he is playing as he usually struggles, particularly with the power of some opponents. Take into accounts his 11-0 record on clay in Davis Cup rubbers plus his 2 titles (Acapulco (Clay) & Auckland) & Runner Up 4 times (Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Bastad (all clay) & Shanghai) this year plus many other SF's including the Masters Cup you have a player who has had a super year and will want to cap it all with the Davis Cup in his own backyard. Looking at Del Porto he might have had two weeks to practice on the clay but let's be honest he needs it. He has only played 10 matches on the ATP tour in 2 years on clay and certainly isn't the player he was before his wrist injury. Even on his favourite surface hard, he has had some shock defeats recently to the likes of Blake, Granollers-Pujol & Simon and i'm backing Ferrer to take him out in 4 sets, beat the -3.5 line and put Spain 2-0 up after Rafa hammers Monaco. :ok
:clap:clap:clap The wee spaniard had me worried for a while but came through in the end. Del Potro played a brilliant 2nd & 3rd set but at a level he was unable to maintain and looked very tired in the 5th despite a late ralley. Glad to to get the win in the end and with Spain 2-0 up my overall bet is looking good!!! :nana:drums:cow

  17. Re: Golf: PGA Tour 2011 - Chevron World Challenge

Hunter Mahan e/w @ 14/1 Ladbrokes - 1/5 odds 4 places I love having a big bet in small fields, like Bill Haas earlier in the year, and with 4 places on offer Mahan is a standout bet to me! Im surprised he has not won in 2011, but he wont have a greater opportunity than this! He will be on a high after USA winning The Presidents Cup and on tour he was 2nd at Pebble Beach and 2nd at the Tour Championship, had 7 other Top 10 finishes this season also. His scoring average is 69.98 which is very good, his driving average is 291 yards, accuracy of nearly 63% which is all above average, GIR is at about 69%, again well above average, and scrambling is at 58%, again well above average! He had 2 tour wins last season and he is due one this year, and in a field of just 18 players with 4 places, i think 14/1 is a great price. Im going to have a big e/w bet
Agree with you Aidy, think Hunter has a great chance this week. Too many holes can be picked in other ppls games, the shockingly low priced Tiger included. Only got him at 12's with WH myself so it seems there must be a bit of money on him. Fingers crossed!! Like the look of Keegan Bradley @ 25-1 with Stan James as a wee outsider in a small field! He has had a break through year winning a Major and can finish the season with a bang!
