  1. Re: Short Priced Favs Kazlian Won @ 1.25 returns 18.75 Start Bank 100 Bets 30 Wins 18 Total Bet 237 Total Won 180.09 Loss 56.09 Strike Rate 60% Current Bank 43.91 Charminster 12.50 Sedgefield 15Pt Win @ 1.73 (BOG) An interesting beginners chase for punters to work out but preference is for the returning CHARMINSTER. The Donald McCain representative boasts some eye-catching novice form over timber, most notably when second behind the subsequent Listed hurdler winner Whoops A Daisy at Hereford in January, and with winning C&D form in the book, he may take some stopping.

  2. Re: Short Priced Favs Swincombe Flame NR For today Kazlian 12.40 Ffos Las 15Pt Win No EMP It is very tough to oppose KAZLIAN in this juvenile hurdle and, while he failed to score at odds of 1-2 on his British debut at Market Rasen, David Pipe's charge will have learned a lot from that outing and improvement should be forthcoming.

  3. Re: Short Priced Favs Cucumber Run 2nd Start Bank 100 Bets 29 Wins 17 Total Bet 222 Total Won 161.34 Loss 60.66 Strike Rate 58% Current Bank 39.34 Swincombe Flame 12.30 Taunton No EMP 15 Pt Win Winner of a Listed bumper at Sandown last term, SWINCOMBE FLAME has evidently transferred much of that ability over timber and returned a most impressive winner at Exeter in novice company earlier in the month. Nick Williams' charge steps up in trip but is taken to defy a penalty.

  4. Re: Short Priced Favs Gulf Punch 2nd Start Bank 100 Bets 28 Wins 17 Total Bet 208 Total Won 161.34 Loss 47.66 Strike Rate 60% Current Bank 52.34 Cucumber Run 1.00 Pl 14 Pt Win @ 1.33 (BOG) The Nicky Henderson stable continues in sparkling form and the Lambourn handler can add to his tally here courtesy of CUCUMBER RUN. A useful novice hurdler last term, he opened his chase account at the first attempt last month and the third has won since. He should come on for that experience and this doesn't look any tougher.

  5. Re: Short Priced Favs Big Bucks Won @ 1.3 Returns 16.9 Start Bank 100 Bets 27 Wins 17 Total Bet 195 Total Won 161.34 Loss 33.66 Strike Rate 62.9% Current Bank 66.34 Gulf Punch Carl 3.00 13 Pt Win @ 3.25 (BOG) GULF PUNCH ran out an impressive victor at Musselburgh just over three weeks ago and despite incurring a 9lb rise in the weights for that success, he looks to have been well placed to add another win to his name.

  6. Re: Short Priced Favs Only Hope 2nd Start Bank 100 Bets 26 Wins 16 Total Bet 182 Total Won 144.44 Loss 38.56 Strike Rate 61% Current Bank 61.44 Big Bucks 14.30 Asc 13 Pt @ 1.29 (BOG) It's impossible to look past BIG BUCK'S, who now searches for his fourteenth victory in a row. This top-class performer showed that all is well when making a winning return to action in the Grade 2 Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury three weeks ago, beating three of today's opposition in the process, and with Paul Nicholls reportedly leaving plenty to work on prior to that race, this superstar gelding is likely to have improved since and should have no problems dispatching these.

  7. Re: Short Priced Favs Araucaria Lost Start Bank 100 Bets 25 Wins 16 Total Bet 170 Total Won 144.44 Loss 25.56 Strike Rate 64% Current Bank 74.44 Only Hope 11.35 Utt 12 Pt Win @ 2.75 (BOG) ONLY HOPE has placed on all of her last seven starts and the daughter of Marju can finally get her head in front. Despite what looks a harsh 7lb rise in the ratings for a short-head defeat at Worcester last time, she can land this prize after being freshened up by a break.

  8. Re: Short Priced Favs Araucaria 14.20 Exeter 11pt Win @ 1.57 (BOG) ARAUCARIA appears to have been found the perfect race by new trainer, Donald McCain, to get her chasing career underway. High-class in bumpers and over hurdles in Ireland, she certainly has the scope to jump a fence and may not need to be at her best to score here.

  9. Re: Short Priced Favs Hunt Ball Won @ 1.57 Returns 17.27 Start Bank 100 Bets 23 Wins 15 Total Bet 148 Total Won 127.61 Loss 20.39 Strike Rate 65% Current Bank 79.61 Time for Rupert 14.35 Newb. 11 Pt Win @ 1.53 (BOG) TIME FOR RUPERT was regarded as last season's leading staying novice until he was pulled up in the RSA Chase and this looks a good opportunity for a confidence-boosting success, having found Weird Al too good in the Charlie Hall Chase on his reappearance and disappointed in the Betfair Chase at Haydock latest. He is 10lb clear of his nearest rival (Pasco) on official ratings and Paul Webber's charge should be able to dominate in this small field. Welcome aboard Maltstar........ one piece of advice, this is the second longest run without a profit I have had in two years. This run was started by Long Run so I hope its not a sign of things to come.

  10. Re: Short Priced Favs El Dancer Lost Start Bank 100 Bets 22 Wins 14 Total Bet 137 Total Won 110.34 Loss 26.66 Strike Rate 63% Current Bank 73.34 Hunt Ball 14.40 Folk 11 Pt Win @ 1.57 It's hard to oppose the claims of HUNT BALL as he chases a quick hat-trick. After success over C&D at the end of last month, he was hugely impressive when scoring at Fontwell last week and a 7lb penalty not doesn't look like halting his profitable campaign this afternoon.

  11. Re: Short Priced Favs Saint Roque Lost Start Bank 100 Bets 21 Wins 14 Total Bet 127 Total Won 110.34 Loss 16.66 Strike Rate 66% Current Bank 83.34 El Dancer 3.00 Fak No EMP 10 Pt Win Having won the valuable Victor Chandler Hurdle at Cheltenham in April 2010, EL DANCER should prove too good for these rivals. It is a slight worry that Lucy Wadham's representative hasn't been seen on the racecourse for 605 days but the 141-rated also has some excellent chase form to his name from 2009, most notably when second to subsequent King George runner-up Riverside Theatre.

  12. Re: Short Priced Favs Sprinter Sacre Won @ 1.22 Returns 10.98 Start Bank 100 Bets 20 Wins 14 Total Bet 118 Total Won 110.34 Loss 7.66 Strike Rate 70% Current Bank 92.34 Saint Roque 12.45 Here 9 Pt Win @ 2.88 (BOG) Saint Roque first time out for Paul Nicholls. Won its only Point to Point race by 8L. Danger could be Ballybough Gorta who won its Point to Point by 15L.

  13. Re: Short Priced Favs Sprinter Sacre 12.25 Donc 9 Pt win @ 1.22 (BOG) SPRINTER SACRE travelled eye-catchingly in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March and while he only managed third when push come to shove, the Nicky Henderson charge exceeded all expectations. Al Ferof, winner of that race, has since scored on his chasing debut and the son of Network should win here providing he takes to the larger obstacles.

  14. Re: Short Priced Favs Alasi 1.00 Hunt 9 Pt Win @ 1.4 (BOG) It's difficult to look past ALASI on her chasing bow. She was some way clear of these on official ratings over timber and looked better than ever when landing a Listed contest in that sphere at Wetherby last time.

  15. Re: Short Priced Favs Joker Choker 1.30 Leic 9 Pt Win JOKER CHOKER has lost his way over hurdles recently but he has been running in quality company. He has won three times over timber, however, and this looks a gentle enough introduction to the chasing game to suggest he can make his debut over fences a winning one.

  16. Re: Short Priced Favs Gift of DGab 2nd Start Bank 100 Bets 16 Wins 10 Total Bet 82 Total Won 59.76 Loss 22.24 Strike Rate 62% Current Bank 77.76 Secret Edge 12.40 Font 9 Pt Win @1.5 (BOG) It's hard to see beyond SECRET EDGE for the answer to this. A game winner of a Listed hurdle at Wetherby two starts ago, he was third in a Grade 2 hurdle at Cheltenham subsequently and should have too much class for these rivals.

  17. Re: Short Priced Favs Notus De La Tour Lost Start Bank 100 Bets 15 Wins 10 Total Bet 74 Total Won 59.76 Loss 14.24 Strike Rate 66% Current Bank 85.76 Gift of Dgab 13.10 Pl 8 Pt Win @ 2.38 Gift Of Dgab represents stiff opposition and is sure to prove popular following a most commanding chasing debut success at Limerick. It seems significant that Tony Martin comes here with this one.

  18. Re: Short Priced Favs Notus De La Tour 1.00 Exeter 7Pt Win @ 2.1 It's hard to see beyond David Pipe's NOTUS DE LA TOUR for the answer to this. The five-year-old has won both starts over fences so far this season and, although this represents his toughest task to date, has shown enough ability to suggest he can go a long way in this code.
