I hope he left it alone....murray still may win but yikes

To cut a long story short, I blew big money on football today so in chasing the money I went big on over 34.5 games as needed money back quick, relief that I didn't choose Murray but Murray stormed the first set, I had already broken down to girlfriend thinking id blown a large amount of our money to buy a house . Its caused bog problems and she's making me block all gambling sites. As it turned out, the over 34.5 games bet which i staked a whopping 16 thousand on came in, I won all my money back, and maybe needn't have told her :( but I think that's it for me and gambling, I simply cannot help being reckless with it.

  2. I'm using BetVictor who void bets if a player retires as they did in the Kyrgios/Marchenko match.

Struggling to find value in this game elsewhere, Nishikori has a terrible H2H record against Murray but you never know. He's certainly a capable player himself and a former US Open finaist.

Maybe Nishikori to win a set and take the games line over 34.5 at odds of 1.87

This might not be what you want to hear, but don't do that.

That's the sensible reply and thanks, but basically I have blown 3 thousand pounds that is going towards buying a house next week! if I don't recover it I have quite a awkward chat with my girlfriend ahead. I'm looking for a really low odds/near cert to get that money back. Crazy I know but I don't know what else to do.

  4. I need to ask someone more clued up on tennis if there is much chance of Murray losing tonight, I ask because i plan to go big on Murray, i know his odds are low but i'm needing to recover betting losses and need to in the next week. I have 16,000 in my account and need to raise another 3,000. I know this is low odds but how likely would it be to go wrong please?

  5. I'm no tennis expert but Pouille +6.5 at 1.73 has to be highly likely?

They have met once before and that was a close 5 setter. And Pouille outplayed Nadal, a QF already matches Monfils best ever peformance at the US Open and hes 30.

Already slightly annoyed that i only took Pouille on a handicap as opposed to outright win against Nadal but I rarely back high odds and will probably take the handicap again.

  6. Hi there

Need some help with my strategy as I keep losing big money. I am constantly drawn to the low odds and my favourite to back is the unders markets in football. The psychology of why i like the unders markets is that your bet starts off in a winning position, I can't stand backing overs and sitting there frustrated as goals don't go in.

But i keep losing big, I dont have a staking plan I tend to bet my entire bank roll on low odds around 1.10-1.30. The amount of games I bet on teams I haven't even heard of is unreal, Whats most frustrating is the very few times I back the overs market they don't seem to come in arghhhh!

For exapmple this morning i lost a bet backing a game in Japanese J league 2 , backing under 5.5 in a game that was 2-2 with about 20 minutes left at rubbish odds of about 1.20. Sooooo frustrating. Yet at the same time I backed over 3.5 goals in another J league 2 game where the heavy favourites were losing 2-0 at half time so backing over 3.5 at odds of evens seemed  a cert but did it come in ? of course it didn't!

Is there any way that backing low odds can be profitable in the long run? I guess its obvious that if i keep betting with all, or nearly all of my bankroll its going to end up crashing. The amount of times ive taken say £50 up to £1000 plus only to blow the lot and feel absolutely awful. Even when I don't bet with my whole bankroll when I lose i end up getting frustrated and chasing the money, I don't seem to be able to stop this psychology.

    Maybe I should quit.

i wouldn't pretend to be an expert but to get out of your bet you would be laying wales which you can do on betfair at 9.8 or 8.8/1

So if you laid £880 to win £100 you are not far away from what you are being offered.

If you think they will go through tonight then wait and then reassess when you will be able to cash out for more.

Obviously if they lose you are out of pocket.

Alternatively you could partially cash out giving up £81 to return your stake.

    Cheers, didn't cash out!

  8. can anyone who understands odds help me, I backed Wales to win the tournament at £9 stake at odds of 100.00, I'm currently being offered £100 to cash out, what is likely to be the cash out if they won tonight? I have a feeling they could go through tonight but not certain so should I cash out now?

    Wales 80/1 Betfred

Quite a long shot of course but you never know with the likes of Gareth Bale in the side. They had a successful qualifying campaign including zero defeats to a good Belgium side. Not one I expect to come in but worth  a punt low stakes.

p.s can anyone explain each way in football to me, if I selected each way on this selection does it mean I would win even if Wales came 2nd?

Also took them at 100.00 after they lost 3-0 to Sweden before the tournament. Stuck £10 on them and now being offered £80 profit, now do i cash out or hold on for a potential big win?!

  10. West Brom + 2      5/4      Betfair

Arsenal are now out of the title chase and almost nailed on to finish below Spurs for the first time since 1995, confidence will be pretty low so I doubt they will fancy facing a Pullis West Brom side who although are almost certainly safe, will like to make sure with a point or so more.

Can see them frustrating Arsenal here.

  12. Tottenham DNB 2.80 Unibet

I don't see Spurs going out with a whimper here, Yes Dortmund are a very good side as we saw in the first leg but I see Spurs making a go of this in front of their own fans. An early goal and the place could be rocking.  Yes there will probably be changes to the Spurs side but this side will want to show they can compete against Europes best, especially with Champions League football looking very likely for next season. At the same time Dortmund may have one eye on Sundays tricky away game at Augsburg as they are still very much in the title race in Germany, and may not be fully commited to this game with possibly feeling that they're already through.

  13. STOKE TO QUALIFY 6.50    BETVICTOR

Given how inconsistent Liverpool have been this season, and the fact that Stoke are a good side who have pulled of some amazing results this season, I like these odds. Stoke lost at the weekend but they have quality players returning tonight that didn't play at the weekend such as Arnautovic.

    Krajicek v Nishikori - Krajicek +8.5 games 2.05 BetVictor

Whats Krajicek's chances of beating the +8.5 handicap v Nishikori?

Krajicek is a aggressive player with a good serve, and he took the first set against Nishikori when they met at the Memphis Open last year.

Now going to go for Halys on a handicap, as said previously in this thread, Djokovic has no reason to go all out wheras Halys will be hugely motivated so should get a few games here.

  15. I lose alot of money on tennis betting it seems to be so unpredictable, other then the really top players but then theres no money to be made from them until the later rounds. Football is my greater knowledge.

It seems to be that the Australian Open throws a few more shock results than other Majors?

Ivo Karlovic injured and retiring means that the bet on him to win 3-0 was a void and Cuevas did the business so good first day 1 in 1. Few more for Tuesday :

I had backed Karlovic and lost my bets due to him retiring, should these have been void?

Also does anyone know what odds Verdasco was to beat Nadal, it's surely worth laying Nadal in any major tournament these days, I took Verdasci +6.5 at evens, should have backed him to win!

Anyway keep up the good work people, im a tennis watcher but no expert and this forum has some great picks.

  17. Stoke v Liverpool    -   Stoke Draw No Bet 2.10    BetVictor

I feel that Liverpool are often overrated by the bookies and have been very inconsistent this season, yes they stuffed Southampton in the last round but it's not a suprise that this happened when they had Sturridge in the side, he is injured again and they lack punch up front. They are up against a Stoke side that have beat far better teams at home this season seeing off the likes of City, United and Chelsea in recent months.

I see no reason why Stoke won't be totally up for this, a Cup Semi Final, the atmosphere will be rocking.

I will take the insurance of draw no bet though as Liverpool have turned in some good performances this season, and of course hammered Southampton 6-1 in the last round though again this was with Sturridge in the side.

  18. Not taking anything away from Leicester here, what they have achieved so far this season is incredible. But surely this has to stop at some  point, and in reverse surely Chelsea have to come good at some point, this is the same team that won the Premier League last season afterall.

Leicester have been incredible but their only games at home against top 4 sides this season they lost 5-2 to Arsenal and drew 1-1 with Manchester United.

That said Chelseas away form has been awful this season, though they did manage a 0-0 scoreline against Tottenham at White Hart Lane in their last away game in the league and I think we could possibly see another low scoring draw here  which both teams would probably take.

    Draw 12/5   Betfair

  19. Re: World Cup 2014 > Outright Betting

Had £50 quid on a Nadal/Argentina double on betfair for a potential £750 profit. After Nadals win yesterday I could cash out at 80 quid profit. Does anyone else rate Argentinas chances as not as many as I would have thought have tipped them on here? To me on paper they have an incredible squad, used to the climate, no European team has ever won a World Cup in South America and so on .....
AHH to cashout or not, that is the question.. Germany look the better team but I just have a feeling Argentina will win the game.
