Re: Slovakia > Corgon Liga > 2011/12 Hello guys, 27th round of Corgon liga starts today with one match, so here are my thoughts. Spartak Trnava - FK Senica - both to score @1.95 Expekt We have another very interesting and important match today! Spartak Trnava (2nd, 49pts) hosts FK Senica (4th, 46pts) at 17.30 CET. Both teams play well recently and this match could make the title challenge more clear, or on the other hand more complicated. Home side is really on form, they didn´t conceded any single goal in 6 matches in a row (5W 1D 0L)!! They have the best fans in the country and their support helps them a lot, and will help also tonight. You might ask, why the hell I´m gonna pick BTS when Spartak is keeping clean sheet for 6 matches .. To be honest, I think that they were a little bit lucky in their two last matches, and it´s just matter of time when someone comes and end their admirable run, and I think that Senica is the "someone". Senica scored at least a goal in 8 away matches in a row, so I consider them as a major threat for Spartak´s defence. Missings are on both sides. Koubsky, Kascak and Carnota are long-term, while Cvirik and Bicak are suspended (all Spartak). Senica´s coach Griga couldn´t count again with trio Pillar, Gajdosik and Cerny, plus Stepanovsky and Kona are suspended. I am a little bit worried due to absence of Stepanovsky and Kona, but I still hope that Senica has the ability to score tonight. All in all, I believe that visitors are able to score today and disrupt Trnava´s run without conceding, and also have no doubts that home side will score in front of their own fans. By the way, over 2.5 is @2.40 at Bet365, it´s very high I think ... Good luck with Slovak league !! :hope

Re: Slovakia, Corgon Liga 2011/12 FK Senica - MSK Zilina - Senica 0AH @1.88 Bet365 / Draw @3.20 Bet365 (very small stakes) The most interesting match of the round is going to be played tomorrow - Slovan vs. Spartak (the biggest derby in the country) - but today we have to keep an eye on clash between 4th Senica and 1st Zilina. Both sides were brilliant in mid-week round, Senica had destroyed Trencin 4-0 at their own pitch, while Zilina had won against current champion Slovan 3-0, also at home. So, two in-form sides are going to meet today, and it will be also difficult to predict. Senica struggled at home recently, but after their Tuesday win, we couldn´t talk about struggling home anymore. They still keep contact with TOP3, what is important due to possibility of qualifying into European competitions, and they don´t want to lose it, especially at home, and doesn´t matter that current leader play against them at the moment. I expect quite careful attitude to this match. As far as I know, they are without both central defenders Gajdosik and Pillar (long-term injuries, they weren´t available in previous matches too), midfielder Cerny is doubtful, and left defender Leal is suspended. Zilina had slow start against Slovan at Tuesday, but they made it in the second half. They took advantage of Slovan´s injury list, but they have to be aware because Senica might do the same today, due to increasing number of players on Zilina´s injury list. Akakpo, Pecovsky and Ceesay, all three players (usual starters) are doubtful for this match. All in all, I expect both teams to play carefully today, they don´t have full strength and they know that their opponent doesn´t lack quality to punish their stupid mistakes. Under also seems logical to me, but doesn´t have any value. Trencin - FC Nitra - over 2.5 @2.21 Pinnacle Home side was pretty good in spring part of the season, until Tuesday match in Senica, where they had fallen to the ground. Loss 4-0 was unexpectable, they even failed to score. Trencin is solid home team (6-5-1) and on their artificial pitch have advantage over other teams. They always try to produce some entertaining football, and today´s match won´t be exception. All their 3 spring home matches ended in over (2-2 Slovan, 3-1 Zlate Moravce, 2-1 Ruzomberok) what says that with productive attack power comes along vulnerable defence. I certainly think that Trencin´s players want to improve their reputation after humbling 4 goal defeat in Senica, and they might open the play more than it´s healthy. Nitra with 4-7-2 record as a visitor, is quite serious threat at all stadiums in the country (bad home record is damaging their position in standings). Nitra have managed to score in 7 consecutive away league matches! They lost their first away spring match in Senica 3-1, but then won at Spartak 1-2 and had taken one point from Banska Bystrica and Ruzomberok after draw 1-1 (in both draw cases were winning, conceded in last 20 minutes). Nitra´s coach Jurkemik doesn´t have to make changes in his line-up, because there are no new injuries or suspensions in comparison with match in Ruzomberok at Tuesday (the same for Trencin). If I take into consideration Trencin´s "ability" to concede, their desire to improve reputation (=attacking football), Nitra´s good away record and ability to score at away pitch, I´m definitely going to take over in this match. Re: Slovakia, Corgon Liga 2011/12 No, Spartak Trnava vs. Slovan Bratislava is the biggest derby in our country. Zilina vs. Slovan maybe the second biggest, if we create some table, but it´s definitely match of the day, due to their current ranking (first vs. second). Right, Senica is without both players, on the other hand, Trencin have full squad, so they don´t have to change anything and play like they have been playing so far.

They don´t play bad now, but they easily lost points at their own pitch in two last matches, when lost against Kosice 0-1 and drew with Presov 0-0. So they didn´t score any single goal in two last home matches, and if they don´t want to lose contact with TOP3 (guaranteed spot in European competitions), they have to start winning on regular basis especially at home. It will be difficult today, because of recent Trencin´s form. Visitors didn´t lose 4 matches in row (3W 1D) and they put several quality performances. All their last 4 games were overish, they managed to score at least 2 goals in each of last 4 games, so their attacking power is on form in these days. Senica couldn´t afford next loss of points at home pitch, so they have to play more offensively, on the other hand, Trencin is on good run, able to score and don´t wanna lose their unbeatable run. Interesting match, maybe couple of goals. Trnava - Presov - Trnava -1.25AH @2.050 Bet365 After surprising home loss against Nitra 1-2 3 rounds ago, it´s new Trnava on the pitch! They had won last 3 matches to nil (3-0 Dunajska, Banska Bystrica 0-3, Kosice 0-1), 2 as visitors, and today they could continue against average Presov. What is more, 1st Zilina plays against 2nd Slovan, so Trnava could jump from their current 3rd place to the second, and after draw in Zilina vs. Slovan clash, to the first! They really don´t have lack of motivation tonight. Presov didn´t impress anyone with their football in last games, failed to score in all 3 away matches, but twice ended 0-0. Presov don´t concede a lot of goals, it´s true, but I think that we could easily see them losing 2-0 like 3 weeks ago at Slovan Bratislava´s pitch, or more .. All 6 matches are going to be played at 17.30 CET, I´m going to try this two. I advise you to stay away from clash between Zilina and Slovan. I fancy Zilina in this one, but I see odds on Slovan are dropping, so it could be tricky one ... Good luck :hope

Nitra (8th) welcomes Zlate Moravce (5th) today at 17.30 CET in local derby. Nitra didn´t have the best start to the spring part of the season, because they lost in the first match in Senica 3-1 and then also at home against current leade from Zilina 0-2. But I certainly think that things had changed a little bit after absolutely unexpected win at strong Trnava (1-2). It was boost of confidence for this very young team, which was shown in next match, again away, at Banska Bystrica, where they were 10 minutes from winning again, but home side managed to equalise. And last match, at Tuesday against current champion Slovan Bratislava. It was quite controversial match, Slovan won 0-1, they scored in 90th minute from free-kick, but very suspicious free-kick. Although everyone is in our league equal, Slovan is sometimes more equal .. but it doesn´t matter. What is important, Nitra wasn´t worse team, especially in the second half, and I am sure that they can bulit on this performance today against Zlate Moravce. Zlate Moravce reached 1-1 draw at home against current leader Zilina, but their spring performances aren´t good at all. They have lost both away matches, in Trnava 1-0 and in Trencin 3-1. As far as I know, there are no major missings in both squads, Nitra´s left-back Cirik was sent off against Slovan, but he could be easily replaced I think. Finally, I have to mention that Nitra has the worst home record in whole league - W1 D5 L5 - but as I said, there are far more signs, which say that Nitra is capable of winning today. First match in Senica ended 2-0 for home side. Slovan is with many absence tonight, the newest are Sebo and Kopunek, but they still have enough quality to become a winner in this clash. They know that they have to attack from first minute because they have to score at least 2 goals against very strong Senica side. Senica´s coach mentioned that it will be important to score a goal at Slovan, so I don´t expect ultra-defensive style today, so they won´t sit at the back, but try to break Slovan on counter-attacks. It´s quite nice price on over tonight, so I definitely try it. Good luck :hope

They had won both league matches - at home against Nitra 3-1, at Dunajska Streda 1-0 - and what is more, they managed to beat the slovak champion Slovan Bratislava in cup game last week 2-0. It seems that Senica is playing som very good football, players are enjoying it, and they are ready for other challenges. Senica is one of the best home sides with 6-3-1, and without any important absences, they are clear favourites for me tonight. Kosice didn´t start badly, won in Presov 0-1 and lost at home against strong Slovan 0-1 aren´t bad results. But tonight they stand against very tough challenge, and with their not so impressive away results 2-3-5 I can´t see them catch something today at Senica´s pitch. They are also without any serious absence in their squad, but I don´t think that they are able to catch at least a draw with in current circumstances ... I expect clear win for home side, but I would rather pick -1AH in case of just 1 goal win for home side .. good luck guys :hope

Schalke 04 - Twente - over 2.5 @1.81 Pinnacle Schalke is pretty angered after losing because of "penalty" in first match. Today, the are preparing revenge for that result, and with both Huntelaar and Farfan back, their chances are increasing. What is more, Matip, who was sent off after mysterious tackle on De Jong, will be available, because UEFA has cancelled his suspension for this match. Twente´s coach McClaren has all players from previous week available and still miss Landzaat. I think that Schalke will go offensively from the first minute, what may be dangerous because Twente has many quality players in front and I see them very dangerous on counter-attacks with Chadli and especially John on the wings. Olympiakos - Metalist Kharkov - over 2.5 @2.38 Pinnacle Lose first match 0-1 on home pitch is not the best situation for Metalist. They are quite attacking team and they know that just attacking mentality could make them the way to the next round, because Metalist has to score at least one goal today. On the other hand, Olympiakos is in great form and they will do everything what is in their power to secure their lead. Metalist managed to score in every away match in group stage, so it´s not mission impossible to score another one (or maybe more) also at Olympiakos. Metalist has nothing to lose. They have to try dominate in this watch if they want to go to the next round, and this kind of setup may bring many goals in this match .. Good luck! :hope

Everything is still open and it would be very interesting to see how both teams will cope with their situations. Di Matteo know that his team has to score at least 2 goals, but as he said, they simply couldn´t open the game since early beginning because Napoli definitely has the ability to threat from counter-attacks. Chelsea is able to keep clean sheet at home, like they managed to keep it three times at group stage, but they have to be a little bit more defensively responsible against Napoli due to their big attacking power. Di Matteo has all key players available, except of Meireles and Bosingwa, but they shouldn´t be considered as a key men in Chelsea´s squad. Napoli is on great run of six beautiful wins and they simply wouldn´t want to stop their run - in this case we should say that they don´t want to be sent out of the competition. They might be a little bit disappointed because in the first leg they had so many chances and managed to score just 3 goals. If they had scored more, it might be over now, but they hadn´t, and now is still everything open and they have to gain extra focus on tonight´s game. I can´t see them play with some kind of very attacking mentality. They know that they are pretty far in this competiton and have pretty good chance to qualify into the next round, so I except very responsible defensive game tonight, maybe with some counter-attacks. All in all, Chelsea must attack from first minute, but as their coach mentioned, they couldn´t forget about defence, because if they concede first goal, mission is becoming impossible. Today, I fancy an under 2.5 in this game! Real Madrid - CSKA - Real Madrid´s goals over 3.5 @2.10 Bet365 :hope It was quite difficult to find something with some value on this match (I would appreciate your suggestions with some value :p), but I would consider this bet - Real will score at least 4 goals tonight. I really don´t have anything to say about this match, just that I give no chance to russian side tonight. They didn´t play bad in the first leg and I was suprised with lack of focus which was shown by Madrid players in last minutes. But this is another game, this is game at Bernabeu, and chance to impress many people with big win like Barcelona or Bayern in last CL´s matches. Messi scored 5, Gomez 4, let´s see if Ronaldo will continue with scoring a couple of goals .. or someone another, doesn´t matter, Real has many players who are available to score many goals ... hala madrid!

Re: Slovakia, Corgon Liga 2011/12 Second half of Slovak fisrt league started a week ago and I was thinking about making this thread alive, but to be honest, our league is very unpredictable especially these first rounds which are played in winter conditions. Now, the sitaution is better and teams could enjoy good pitch condition, but still haven´t found any values .. So just some words for two Friday´s matches, you may make your own prediction after that ;) Spartak Trnava (3rd) is travelling to Ruzomberok (6th) today. Spartak bought some good players during the winter break but their opening match a week ago against Zlate Moravce was quite dissapointing. They won thanks to their capitain Karhan, who scored brilliant goal from free kick in added time. But all in all, their performance didn´t meet expectations. Spartak didn´t impressed in away matches this season, but nobody knows if they are going to struggle away in this part season too. Ruzomberok lost a week ago in Zilina 2-1 but was very close to catch at least 1 point there, because they were leading 0-1 but they finally lost. Ruzomberok is without two players from line-up, who where suspended after previous match, so there will be some changes. All in all, I don´t expect Spartak to win today, but also I can´t see them losing heavily. It will be tight match and draw will be satisfying for both sides. In second today´s match, Zilina (1st) is travelling to Nitra (7th). Home side is on bad run, they struggle at home (11. in home table, 3. in away table - unbelievable), and they also had bad start last weekend. They lost in Senica 3-1, mostly because of stupid mistakes in defence which caused 2 penalties for home side. Nitra missed two important strikers last weekend, and as long as I know, they are missing them today too. Nitra is very young and ambitious squad, but they lack quality, and it might be key reason tonight. As I mentioned, Zilina won against Ruzomberok 2-1 in last round. Zilina is squad full of quality players and they are ready to fight for first place with Slovan, so matches like today, they should win. They have good results in Nitra, won last 6 matches there, but every match is different so we couldn´t watch the statistic only. They don´t have any important missings tonight, maybe goalkeeper Dubravka, but I think he can be simply replaced. As a Nitra fan, it´s difficult to me to make predictions .. Zilina @1.9 doesn´t represent a value for me, despite being favourites tonight. Nitra will be satisfied with draw, that´s for sure, but final predictions are on you ;) good luck to everyone who try to predict slovak league, it isn´t impossible, but sometimes very tough :hope

Steve McClaren has all key players available, what makes them very tough opponent against German side tonight. On the other hand, Schalke doesn´t travel to Enschede in positive mood. They failed to impress in previous round against Czech champion Viktoria Plzen, and they continued in bad performances also in Bundesliga, in away games against Bayern and Freiburg. What is more, Schalke couldn´t count with Huntelaar, Howedes, Metzelder, Pukki and Farfan. Twente is winning side for me tonight, gonna try it also with asian handicap.
Now, I couldn´t find any other match worth of betting, maybe I´ll look closer in next minutes. Clash between Standard and Hannover is interesting too, because someone mentioned that Hannover is without 2 quality strikers - Abdellaoue and Schlaudraff - but I don´t see this being a problem, because they could be simply replaced by Ya Konan and Diouf, who managed to score some goals in last matches. Also absence of Di Natale in Udinese´s match is interesting, but after 3 goals scored in PAOK in last round, I don´t consider playing without Di Natale as a big problem in scoring goals. But maybe it will be different at AZ today .. don´t know ;) Good luck to all :hope

I certainly think that the price is really beautiful and worth to try. After 1-0 in Lyon is everything open and APOEL knows that after failing to score away, they have to score at least once at home, so they are going to take attacking mentality. They are pretty strong at home, what we were able to see in group stage, where they managed to score 2 goals against Porto and Zenit. Lyon is definitely dangerous team, despite their current bad away form. I think that they are able to gain something from open APOEL´s defence. Doesn´t matter who will score first - team, which conceded, will have to open the game and give everything. Only option is that nobody scores first, but I don´t thinks so :p . We are going to see at least 3 goals tonight, I´m pretty sure. Good luck boys :hope

Viktoria Plzen vs. Schalke 04 -both teams to score @1.83 Bet365 Despite being underdog in most of CL matches, Plzen showed that they aren´t kind of team, which just try to hold 0-0 as long as they can, and then try to surprise opponent with 1 or 2 good counterattacks. Especially their home matches were opened with many goalscoring opportunities for both sides (5-1 Pyunik, 3-2 Rosenborg, 2-1 FC Copenhagen - in qualifying round, 2-2 AC Milan, 1-1 BATE, 0-4 Barcelona - in group matches). So "both teams to score" in every game, except of Barcelona, but Plzen had a few good chances in first 20 minutes, but rest of the match played without defender who was sent off. Plzen has to cope without important midfielder Jiracek, who has moved to Wolfsburg, and also without defender Bystron. Obviously, Schalke is favourite in this clash. They scored 8 goals in away games in group stage of EL, and doesn´t matter if doubtful Raúl play tonight, they could send really strong offence against Plzen´s defence. Schalke scores in almost every away Budesliga´s match, so I don´t see problem why they wouldn´t be able to break Plzen´s defence at least once. Hannover 96 - Club Brugge - Hannover to win @1.82 Pinnacle Hosts are playing in calm middle of Bundesliga´s table, so they can fully focus on tonight´s match in EL. Hannover plays in good form this year, they played 4 competitive matches, all in domestic league, with 2 wins and 2 draws, score 3-1, but 3 of 4 matches were played away. Yes, they didn´t impress a lot in home EL´s matches, where only drew with FC Copenhagen 2-2 and Standard Liege 0-0, and finally won against Vorskla 3-1. Tonight they are still without striker Didier Ya Konan, who just arrived from african cup of nations, and Hannover´s coach want to rest him for a while. Club Brugge are arriving to Hannover with 4 league wins in a row, so they are in good shape after losing 2 first competitive matches in this year. They also played well in away games in gropu stage - 2-2 Birmingham, 3-4 Maribor, 1-2 Braga. But on the other hand, I feel that their main goal is to fight for Belgian champion, where they are losing 7 points on first Anderlecht and they should be fully fit for next league matches. It could be very tight tonight, but I really feel that Hannover will come on top. Udinese - PAOK - PAOK +0.5AH @2.17 Pinnacle I really think that PAOK could take something from this game. Udinese is really strong home team, but all in all, their recent form is horrible, because they managed to lose 4 of last 6 matches. Udinese is fighting for CL spot in Italian league, so I could see them to move their focus on this part of season. Tonight they are without strik Di Natale, who is significant blow for home side. Di Natale is scoring for Udinese a lot, he is in the end of most Udinese´s attacking moves, so his ability to score goals will be missing tonight. PAOK plays well in last matches, despite losing against Olympiacos 2 weeks ago. They impressed especially in away games in group stage, where they were able to beat Tottenham 1-2, Shamrock 1-3, and took one point from unpredictable cold Rubin Kazan (2-2). I simply cannot agree with you, that Real Madrid doesn´t care about that cup. Also, Mourinho is not going to use rotation system in this match, what is clear when you see list of players which he had taken to Malaga. I really don´t have enough time to post here some precise analysis, so I just tell you about one thing, which has caught my eye when I looked on the table, especially AWAY table, and this round´s fixtures. So, as I mentioned, we have to take a look on AWAY table, especially on last 4 positions: 9. Kosice 3-4-6 10:18 13 10. Presov 1-5-7 5:18 8 11. Trencin 1-4-8 6:24 7 12. Dunajska Streda 1-0-12 8:28 3 Okay, but why is it so interesting? In my humble opinion, it´s interesting due to fact that all these teams are playing AWAY today :D But I know, it isn´t the only thing which matters, it´s just statistics, so I cut a bit from my time and tell you a few words about matches .. Zlate Moravce vs. Presov - If I have to pick one which I believe the most, I would choose this one. Presov is really poor away nowadays, didn´t score in all 5 away matches after winter break, and drew in last match at home against Banska Bystrica after 90th minute "penalty". Zlate Moravce had won two last league matches, took 3 points from Kosice in last round, they try to play attractive at home, Presov might have a big problem today .. Nitra vs. Dunajska Streda - Nitra hasn´t been impressive at home pitch this season, but I think it´s still far more better from Dunajska´s perfromances in this season. Nitra lost 0-1 half-time lead in Trencin last round (lost 5-2), but I couldn´t blame their performance at all. I think they are pretty good in forward these days, and they have to quality to beat Dunajska even if with terrible defence like in Trencin. Zilina vs. Trencin - Zilina has everything in their hands, but I think it might create some pressure on them and I am really interested in how they will cope with it. Quality is definitely on home side, but tremendous 2nd half Trencin´s performance from last league match is confusing me a little bit. It will be interesting match, but anything from home win will be surprise. Ruzomberok vs. Kosice - The most difficult match I think. Ruzomberok have not won in last 4 home matches (3 draws), and I think it´s now or never today :D Kosice has poor record in last 5 matches (0W 1D 4L), but they don´t play bad away after winter break and are definitely improving their position in away table .. they are giving points at home very easily, and then they try to steal some at opposition´s pitches. How long can they do that? And there is also another one match today, Banska Bystrica vs. Slovan. Slovan is also poor away (7th), but it is complicated match I think, so I won´t touch it today ..
