  1. Re: Bundesliga > March 20th - 22nd Gladbach very organized team. Tendency is it could be one of the narrower wins for Bayern. Gladbach already held them very good at home. Ribery is not at 100%. If gladbach frustrates them I can see a lackluster bayern performance today after CL weeks and international break. A draw wouldnt hurt them.

  2. Re: World Cup 2014 > Outright Betting

what are your guys thoughts on player of the tournament (golden ball)? likely candidates would be messi, rodriguez, muller or toni kroos but i think it will come to the final performance..
Is the golden ball still decided before the 2nd half of the final? Messi wasnt that great in the K.O phase and half final.
  3. Re: Third Place Play-Off - Brazil v Netherlands > Saturday July 12th Well finally no more pressure on Brazil. But Im not sure if they can bring up the concentration again or if they are all beat up..and the discussions about Scolari wont help too. If they get into a mood to give them back some pride and end the WC with awin they might win with a good margin. But Im not sure as they were totally gone after germany scored 2 goals. They turned a bit up in the 2nd half but mainly cause germany relaxed... Im not sure if they can turn it up again.. I think Holland will be dead tired. They had one day less to recover and prepare while having to go through 2 extra times in the K.O. Brazil will have a fit Silva back who is their most important player as seen vs. germany. Normaly I would go for over but both teams lack upfront. I dont see Van Persie playing much of a role in this game as he is clearly not fit. Robben who could punish brazil easily on counters is in a very fit condition but he might be rested as no one wants him to be injured in a meaningless game. He himself said after the game he doesnt care about 3rd place. Question is if Holland will have a similar approach as in the other games sitting back with 5 defenders... I think laying any draws and X/X bets might be a good idea as I cant see both teams wanting to go in any way to another extra time...

  4. Re: World Cup 2014 > Outright Betting Germany is now the absolute favourite for the title. They constantly got better throughout the tourney. They have a very deep bench. The whole team works together. The coaching is very good and realistic. They put high emphasis on beeing content and humble after yesterdays freak result. Watch the interviews they are already focussed on the final. If anything this result will give huge confidence to germans and some of the opponents will have maybe some fear. And the result was not only cause of bad Brazil. Germany analyzed where the exact weaknesses of Brazil were and exploited them perfectly. The result was cause of the focus and determenation of Germany. Brazil crumbled cause of germany. Germany could rotate their squad somewhat throughout the tourney. They look very fit. And yesterday they could go for 60 minutes without much intensity. In this WC with high temperatures and intense games one day extra rest could make a difference. Arg and holland both had intense games up to now and not the same squad deepness. They will go on for another very intense game with one day less to recover. Van persie looked awfully tired. Messi doesnt look at his best all season and this WC too. Di maria and Aguero are not fit. There are still doubts about the individual defensive qualities of Arg and Holland. Both squads seem to miss deepeness and options. Holland totally depends on their trio upfront. No matter who germany faces they are the favourites. I think after beeing in every semi since 2002 including euro finals etc. they are due to win a tourney. And they have goalkeeper Neuer who is arguably one of the best goalies that ever played the game. I think odds should be more around 1,6 for germany to lift the WC. Todays game could end with extra time which would lower odds even more. I also think the atmosphere will turn now to germany to be cheered by the brazilians. You could see some episodes of that already yesterday. This could turn it into a "home" game.

  5. Re: Semi-Final - Netherlands v Argentina > Wednesday July 9th Both rely heavily on Their offensive stars. Sneijder Persie Robben trio and Messi.. The question will be how Argentina will aprroach the game. I think Holland will stick to their tactics of inviting the other team to then hit them on the counter. If argentina plays into their hands they will surely be found out by pacy holland and we might even see some goals. If argentina approaches it cautious then we will see a stalemate Im sure off. Im also not sure who will play left hand side in arg defence vs robben. Van persie looked very tired and not that fit and now he has stomach problems. Huntelaar is not the player to trouble the Arg defense. Without Di maria arg might be more cautious. For now I expect a very tight game if both coaches are intelligent enough to recognize each others strengths. Both will fight to be in the final and we finally might see some cards? Çak?r is not card shy and showed in 2 matches 9 cards this WC. Under 2,5 and draw. Maybe GS Robben and Messi to cover these bets while maybe getting all to hit.

  6. Re: Billy Walters, successful sports bettor from the USA - what can be learned from h

I came across this feature on Youtube. Apparently, Billy Walters is one of the most successful sports bettors in America, and has never had a losing year ... http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7253011n I wondered if anyone has heard of Billy Walters before - and in particular what can be learned from his story?
play only value odds? his profit clearly is coming from there.
  7. Re: DFB Pokal - 2nd - 5th August Illertissen - Frankfurt hc -2 @2,05 4th league Illertissen have to play in 100km away augsburg and it will be more frankfurt fans then the "home" team. Big disadvantage. they are not used to play in such a stadium. as usual underdog will fight but frankfurt team is compelte from last year with an additional striker and fit again lakic. So I expect a high win. Some of the favo teams today are not palyable imo.

  8. Re: UEFA Womens Euro Sweden 2013

Some interesting games coming up. Tonight (Tuesday 16th July), Sweden and Italy meet knowing that they both qualify with a draw. I got a similar idea wrong for the Under 20 World Cup group stage, but this time UEFA are saying it on their own website ... http://www.uefa.com/womenseuro/news/newsid=1971854.html#how+quarter+finalists+will+decided There could be value backing a draw in this game at odds of 5.0 or more, or perhaps under 2.5 goals at odds of over 2.5. But I think the better bet may be in the other game involving Denmark and Finland. Denmark have looked the better side in the group games, but they have struggled in front of goal and I think their odds are too short here and there is value opposing them. Both these sides really need to win the game to stand a decent chance of qualifying, and I think there is probably value backing Finland and 'overs'. The best value, I think, is backing Finland for a surprise win, which although unlikely is more likely than the very long odds suggest - Denmark Women v Finland Women Finland Women DNB 9.0 Bet365
It sounds like an overish game.. http://www.uefa.com/womenseuro/season=2013/matches/round=2000175/match=2010725/prematch/preview/index.html#jeglertz+backs+finland+outgun+denmark both have to win. Denmarks defender: "I'm expecting a tight, nervy opening to the game, with both teams giving very little away. However, as the game goes on, it will open up, especially if one of us is still in with a chance. I'm sure everyone will be giving everything at the end," said Ørntoft, who vowed her side would not betray the 'Danish way'; an insatiable desire to retain possession and attack with purpose. "I expect us to keep the ball and attack tomorrow, because otherwise we would not be playing the way we are used to." 1,6 for the over 2,5 sounds good imo. finnland will want to score a goal which might open them up. This could end in a very open game..
  9. Re: UEFA Womens Euro Sweden 2013 I think germany is capable of playing better football. They are quiet young and were too nervous in the first game. On uefa.com I read that Thóra Helgadóttir is a doubt in goal for iceland. Iceland lsot 1-6 ina friendly vs. sweden and got a bit lucky vs norway. I think if germany finds into the game with more confidence we could see the next big win. They only won two times 1:0 vs iceland recently. To beat the hc-3 I would get 4.0 odds.

  10. Re: Fifa Under 20 World Cup Turkey 2013 USA didnt look that bad.. still france is very strong. might not be that high scoring affair... ----- Cuba looks inexperienced and nigeria looked fluent so I will side with nigeria here. As its for both teams important to win this I expect some goals here.. ----- Portugal is very strong and korea looked a bit nervous and not very targeted. I think this game has goals in it and Portugal to win. ----- Ghana didnt look very special vs france and i think spain will win vs them on a comfortable handicap. ---- I think there is a clear trend for teams which have players who do play reguarly top class football. All other teams are subsequent behind them. Obviously experience is a big factor!

  11. Re: Confederations Cup 2013

Brazil v Uruguay and Spain v Italy I'm wondering whether there is some value in Uruguay and Italy. Both are available at odds of 9.0 with a choice of bookies. Brazil and Spain have been the stand-out teams and are the media and punters favourites, but is the gap between them and their opponents that big? If you imagine these were English FA Cup semi-finals between Premier League teams, would the odds be this big on the underdogs?
Brazil is getting better. Uruguay was never convincing. Only forlan is in good form. Italy looks tired and shaky at the back..and now balotelli and maybe pirlo out. Spain even on a bad hair day seems to be unbeatable. They will make tired italians run.. The final spain - brazil is what everyone wants to see. The question for me is how it will happen. Italy could reach extra time through ultra defending. Uruguay can surely score vs. Brazil ... For me that are the dangers reg. The favourites.
  12. Re: Confederations Cup 2013 Nigeria looked totally weak. Theironlydanger comes from their pacy wingers strikers. Oduamadi is a doubt while musa might play. Meanwhile spain rested their squad and will play their first team. I expect spain to pin nigeria to their area and cruise to a comfortable victory. Hc -1 for me + 2:0 correct score

  13. Re: Confederations Cup 2013 Tahiti cant defend. The 3rd goalkeeper will play... Its the 3rd game in 7 days for them. This mentally and physicaly draining. Uruguay has some serious firepower upfront. Some reports say cavani will be rested but i dont think so. They need him in goalscoring form. Spain did go really easy towards the end vs tahiti and i think a guy like suarez isnt that kind. The hc odds are lower cause of tahiti fatigue and the 3rd goalie playing. The first did some really good saves vs nigeria. The second was shaky and said they cant go that muchforward.... . I can seeuruguay puttting more then 10 past a tired tahiti team. Also a penalty to be scored above evens looks again tasty if you expext tahitians to be mire fatigued and sloppy in one on ones

  14. Re: Confederations Cup 2013 Let us talk about Nigeria vs. Uruguay. Nigerians arent in a very good mood. Despite not loosing since last year they have some problems. You could see it in their body language vs. Tahiti..this was not motivated. The money issue is still not solved. They are missing their whole star offense. Moses, emenike etc. Biggest miss is onazi from lazio rom. He is very important in central midfield and you could see that even in tahiti game. Obi mikel is in a bad form the while year. For me this is a very mediocre team. Nigerians are awfull record vs south americans..only 3 wins. Uruguay isnt on a good run since two years. Still they have the chance to change the story in this confed.cup . A win vs nigeria and a blow out vs tahiti will give them a game vs italy or brazil who both dont look that great imo. Urus Arent a team that is pressing high and spain just made them run like chickens.. But Nigerians arent able to do that and uruguay will have a good amount of possesion to bring their strikers into position. I think they will boss the midfield while niveria will try to counter with their fast strikers. Nigeria looked weak in standards vs. Tahiti and uruguay looked really strong there and could have get a result vs spain on standards alone. Uruguay isnt a bad team like their past two year result might look like. They have more or less 100% european team and they struggle vs teams who know them inside out in south america. I will side with the straight Uruguay win.

  15. Re: Confederations Cup 2013 Its clear that tahiti cant defend. Thats why the coach is saying they will attack. If you watch the nigeria game in detail you see them in large numbers going forward while not going back fast enough. Some players were midhalf and to the end very tired. This wont be better now vs. a well rested spanish team. Its not only about individual one on one skill but also their tactical defensive knowledge is bad. Even if spain doesnt want to score 15 goals tahiti will give them the space and opportunity to do so.

  16. Re: Confederations Cup 2013 I think betting on a penalty to be awarded in spain tahiti game has big value. 2, 4 i get. Spanish players are much more tricky then nigerians and they will pin tahiti to the penalty area . The way tahiti got very motivated but kind of overwhelmed into nigerians in the box looked clumsy. The goalie was very motivated and risky in one on ones and was lucky to not bring a nigerian to fall. Fatigue might play a part in this too. Overall i will take any bet that indicates that more then 10 goals will be scored. This is simply the most awfull matchup in modern football ever. Tahiti doesnt know how to park the bus. They know how to attack the other islands. Countrys like malta or liechenstein did learn how to do that in the last years so they manage some rather narrow loses but tahiti almost never faced world class oposition. Nigerians were awfull and didnt have many players who score reguarly but spain has a team full of goal providers.

  17. Re: Confederations Cup 2013 Well, Nigeria didnt even try to defend. they either fouled or jogged behind. yeah. tahitis offense and maltas defense would have beat nigieria today ^^ Im curious about the press and public opinion towards nigeria. If they think they did soemthing great then they will be i nfor an awekening vs spain and urus. I hope for bigger odds due to this win and the fact they are still africa cup champions(albeit with many missings)

  18. Re: Confederations Cup 2013 Spain - Uruguay Both teams are expected to go through this group. I dont see nigeria troubling them. This could result in a rather open game. Both sides have enough power to trouble the other team upfront. I wouldnt give too much for uruguays problems in world cup qualifying. They are always in trouble flying from europe coming from the big leagues. This is a big stage that these players love to play and they will go out to take that game to spain. Spain players had another long season with cl football etc. I dont expect them to deliver a euro or world cup performance. Its time for spain to loose again. And I see them loosing at this confed cup. Many Uruguay players are well known of spain players on the pitch and with these odds on Uruguay I will try them for the straight win. Spanish coach always has the problem to select the right attacking combination. One off day from his attack and spain looks rather toothless. These players have many trophies and confed cup isnt on their priority. Also over 2,5, btts look tasty odds wise.

  19. Re: Confederations Cup 2013 Italy Mexico feels like a draw. Italy is complaining about jetlag and some of their players had long seasons. They looked rather unfocused vs. czech team. Italy to my knowledge never looked good in these tourneys. Mexico on the other hand is known to turn up the heat vs. strong opponents. Meanwhile they are struggling for goals vs their concaf opp. I think going for the draw in this game has value as both teams dont look like sure winners to me. I think italy is more interested in messing with spain then going far in this tournament. Im also considering to take mexico for the win or not to loose as they are more then 2 weeks together now and are rather experienced to play together. I certainly wouldnt take Italy for the win as they dont look fresh and a player like shaaraway isnt in good form. I expect an overall lackluster performance from Italy in this game. I also wouldnt overvalue the concaf results from mexico as theri opponents know them inside out and mexico loves to take spaces rather then constructing the game.
