Well it was a shame that Sherrock didn't play today because I'm pretty sure that Cole would have won that bet. Once again he started on fire. He had a good day really. I think he got 8pts in the end and only lost to eventual winner Evans and a poor loss to Adams.
Tomorrow we're back to Group B and Askew is once again offered up at close to 5/1 and I'm going to try again. He did little wrong on Tuesday winning every match but one. The only match he lost was the guy that pipped him on leg difference, Monk. He was leading that match 3-1 against Monk in a 'first to 4' and so i'm surprised that he's priced up at similar or close to 5/1 once again. He faces Nijman and Monk in the last couple of matches and so he could potentially be sitting on 4 wins from 4 before those 2. He beat Nijman yesterday and we don't see what Nijman turns up tomorrow.

Quite a frustrating one today. Askew won 5 out of 6 and was 3-1 up against Monk in a ''first to 4'' and he let him back in and ended up losing the top spot on leg difference along with Jenkins. The good news is Monk did beat Webster and get the match combo. He played really well today, Monk. As did Askew and Jenkins. Chipping away at this deficit though with another 2.5pts profit.
Tomorrow we go back to Group A. Evans is quite a short favourite with Edhouse in second and Nicholson third. I've rarely seen Edhouse perform two days in a row and Nicholson wasn't very good in the first match-up albeit I think he will improve tomorrow. We've seen though that the players doing well are the ones that have more games early on and get abit of momentum. Cole won us Day 1 at 10/1 and they've priced him up to win again at 11/2. I think that's enough value to stick with him. He faces Sherrock and Adams in the 2nd and 3rd match for the day and he would have played half of his matches in the first 6 games.
Jarred Cole, as I've said before tends to start matches very well. He starts ''Days'' well too. Infact he's won 5 of the last 6 first matches he has played. His average average in those 6 matches was over 93. Fallon Sherrock has lost 5 of the last 6 first matches she has played and has an average average of 85-86. On Monday, Fallon lost her first match 4-0 and Cole beat Evans 4-2.  Cole and Sherrock face eachother in the 2nd game tomorrow and it's enough for me to side with Cole. I'm quite wary of the checkout, because we know Fallon can take huge checkouts out and so the 4/1 that Cole wins with most 180s is appealing. He should score better and he won this bet on Monday.

no joy last night. I was quite disappointed in Kim. I thought he was pretty poor. Not quite as poor as Derry, but nevertheless abit of a rubbish night.
    Group 19 :
    G. Durrant
    J. Pipe
    V. Van Der Meer
    M. Kuivenhoven
I'm taking the favourite tonight. I already have an outright pick on Durrant and I think he wins tonight. He has been on Twitter today saying that he has lost 3 practise matches in a row, but I think when he gets down to it, he will turn it on.
I do however, think that Kuivenhoven can have a good night and win his other 2 matches.

Smith wins it. I got too greedy and went for the clean sweep but Atkins decided to turn up for that match, ofcourse.
    Group 17 :
    J. Henderson
    D. Heta
    G. Blades
    K. Kcuik
Big John Henderson gets involved tonight and I think being at home will suit him. He is always getting too hot up on the stage with the lights and such and when he is comfortable in his own surroundings, I see that as a big plus for him. At the back end of last year Hendo was actually playing really well. He got to the last 16 of the Players Championship. He beat Ryan Joyce there with a 95 average, and then Simon Whitlock with a 96 average. It was good prep for him before making the Last 32 of the Worlds. There he beat Richardson 3-0 with a 93 average and went out to Price with a 94 average. Price was on fire that day with a 104 average.
In the smaller events since he has made the last 32 in a couple of Players Championship events but the form did go downhill through Feb. He also had a poor UK Open, where he lost to James Wade in the 1st round. March, prior to the lock down though has shown some upturn in form. He made the last 32 of two Players Championships. You would have to expect somebody as good as Henderson to be making a quarter-final or semi-final in a few of these though. Nevertheless, In his last 10 matches he has averaged an average of 96.70. I know that Hendo is doing plenty of practise also. His wife is an NHS nurse and he's said himself that it means with nothing much to do he has been practising more. If he can sort those doubles tonight he could win this group easily. We know what a big scorer he is.
Damon Heta is the biggest threat tonight though. He is playing in the early hours of the morning though. I think it's something like 2am when he kicks off tonight. If it was standard time, I would be much more confident in picking out Heta. Winner of the Brisbane Masters last year, where he beat James Wade, Simon Whitlock, Gary Anderson and Rob Cross. He had a 95 average in that final. He also won the Australian Masters (which he had won in 2018 also) and now he has joined the PDC.
I initially was going to go with Henderson for this, but the odds are just not good enough. Heta is the clear value to win this. He is up for it and taking it seriously. He moved to the UK prior to the lockdown and had to move back to work. I think he will see this as a good opportunity to show what he can do.
    3pts D. Heta to win Group 17 2/1 paddypower
1pt K. Kcuik to lose all 3 tonight 9/2 paddypower
1pt D. Heta to win all 3 tonight 9/2 paddypower

2.5pts J. Henderson to beat K. Kcuik and have the most 180s evens paddypower

I got greedy last night. I thought Tabern had a chance but I went for him to win all 3. Tabern won the group but only won 2 out of the 3. Let's look at tonight's group :
    Group 12 :
    M. Hopp
    M. De Decker
    K. Brown
    C. Whitehead
Hopp is the favourite, with Brown as the second favourite. I'm not sure I can be confident about either though. After a decent Worlds for Max Hopp and making the last 32, he hasn't really done much. 1st round exits in 4 out of the 6 tournaments he has played in and a last 32 and 96 in the other 2. That kind of form makes it impossible for me to back a favourite. Keegan Brown is another that I'm not sure of. There was a piece in the Sun paper today saying that he is a key worker and how much extra work he is doing for The NHS. Great for humanity, but not so great for Darts and his practising. You have to wonder how much practise he has got because of that extra work.
Looking at the 2 outsiders, I think I'm going to side with De Dekker. Whitehead started the year making a last 16 in the Players Championships. Only losing out to Peter Wright there. In another Players Championship in February he beat Keegan Brown 6-2 and also Klaasen along the way. But his form after that doesn't fill me with confidence and his average is lower than De Decker. De Decker also has good records against Max Hopp (won the last 3),

    Group 11 :
    A. Tabern
    S. Whitlock
    K. Sheppard
    M. Van Duivenbode
Simon Whitlock gets underway tonight. Whitlock has had a decent last 6 months. He looked poor in the Grand Prix, going out 2-1 to Smith and averaging just 77 but 2 weeks later he was beating Adrian Lewis 6-1 with a 100 average. He was in the 90s when he beat De Zwaan and got to the last 32 of the Players Championships, before making the last 16 of the worlds and cashing 35k. This year he went out of the Masters to Gerwyn Price. Whitlock averaged 97 there and then the UK Open he beat De Zwaan before bowing out to Chris Dobey. We should expect something around the 90 average from him tonight.
The only player who I think can match that will be Tabern. Tabern also has the advantage that he plays Whitlock last and it could well be an "winner takes all" match. Whitlock beat Tabern last year 6-3 and holds a very one sided h2h record against him (W12 L3) but Tabern has won his tour card back and will be buoyed by that.
I'm taking a few big priced outsider shots but I'll also take Tabern to win all 3. That's purely because I think he wins the other 2 matches and I would like to be in a good position before the main match.
1pt A. Tabern to win all 3 matches 10/1 paddypower

Another big name departs. Kleermaker goes through on leg difference. Harry Ward couldn't double for toffee. I only see one direction for him. Let's take a look at tonight
    Group 10 :
    N. Aspinall
    R. Joyce
    S. Brown
    S. Stevenson
Nathan Aspinall is ofcourse the big favourite and no surprise there. He's already won a home event with the PDC a matter of weeks ago and we've already seen the benefits of what that brings with Jelle Klaasen going through.
Aspinall is in fine form "Pre-corona" having already won multiple PDC events. Semi finalist at the Worlds and then Semi-finalist at the Masters, he then won a players championship in Barnsley in February and also another more recently in March. However in the last Players Championship in which Ian White won, Aspinall had an early exit to lowly Madars Razma. He also didn't look too hot in the home event he won. Missing a few doubles and not scoring to his true capability.
Ryan Joyce had a poor worlds. He should have beat Jan Dekker but missed a few doubles and his scoring was only decent in the third and maybe 4th set. The first couple of sets he was only averaging in the low 80s.
Since then he's made the last 32 of a couple of Players Championships. One in February (the one Aspinall won) where he beat Simon Whitlock and then another last 32 a few weeks later in which he beat yesterdays winner, Kleermaker. He then went out against MVG to a deciding leg. He's also made a last 16 place. Also in Feb. He beat Kyle Anderson 6-1 in that one. Also beating De Sousa, Gary Anderson 6-2 and going out to eventual winner, Peter Wright.
So his form is decent up until late Feb. He went out early of the UK Open in March to a deciding leg against Clemens and the last 2 Players Championships he has gone out early to Thornton and Whitlock. He should have the form tonight to beat Brown and Stevenson and he has a good head-2-head record against Nathan. He beat Nathan the last time they played infact.
I'm going to take Joyce to win all 3 tonight. This is because I think if he is going to get through, it's most likely going to be the winner of Joyce Vs Aspinall. I can't see him losing to Aspinall and still making the group win. I'll also take Aspinall to win all 3 and cover the 180/checkout double. This is abit of cover because the price is right. Very low stakes.

Well I just seem cursed in this league at the moment. Monk had 2 chances to win this group and he threw them both away. Couldn't even beat Huckvale so no more betting on Monk. Scoring gone to pot.
Looking at how I can be disappointed tonight, I'm going to take Askew and another pop at Adams. Unbelievably, Adams won again last night to make it 3 wins in a row of the group and yet he's still priced up at 9/2. Askew was playing brilliant yesterday but the later times obviously got to him and he just "ran out of steam"

Another day of Modus darts get started in just over an hour. Jenkins comes back into the mix and Portela is on a day off. This league is very much a coin flip in many matches now and it's hard finding any real value. the top 2 in nicholson and monk are tussling it out, whilst the rest are just inconsistent.
Yesterday came down to who won that first match. Monk should have won it but when he didn't, he went off the boil and Nicholson won all 4. Jenkins being back adds alittle bit of action to those two, although a player returning doesn't always mean they're going to perform and be fresh and ready to go
Monk has a nicer start of the two and I think Ill side with him based on that.

I'm also going to back Koltsov and Askew to hit over 3.5 180s. Koltsov, as mentioned above, tends to do OK with Askew. I'm not sure if that's because he can keep up with him on the scoring or because Askew just doesn't like playing him, but either way they've had 10 180s in there last 2 matches.

Not to be today and indeed the "2nd horse" of that 2-horse race goes on to win the group.
Looking at tonight, there's alot more darts tonight and that's because we have Phil Taylor in the evening group. He will not actually be getting any points, but he will be playing each player, which gives another dynamic to betting on these markets. I'm not sure about Phil. I'm not convinced he's been practising, he isn't familiar to the setup like the others are and his last match was on the soft tip boards. I'm surprised to see he's a favourite in every match up.
It also turns me off betting on the group tonight. I think they have it about right. Nijman is the favourite, but at a short price. The returning Askew and Mitchell are 4/1 joint second favourites and maybe Mitchell is due a turn around in form tonight. I can't pick Askew again until he gets more consistent. Adams is 9/2 but you can't expect him to win again, after winning 8 in a row now. I'll take Koltsov. He tends to do well against Askew and beat Nijman yesterday too. His price offers value here.

Chisnall wins all his matches to win the group without too much fuss.
Looking at tonight and I would say it's the most wide open group of all. Here's the line-up:

    R. Smith
    G. Nentjes
    M. Mansell
    L. Ashton

I'm not conviced by Ashton to win 3 out the 4 she would need to win the event and so I'm going to rule her out of this. Smith is the favourite and that's fair enough but he form isn't the best by any means and for I think I'll be taking Nentjes here. He's still very much a young gun in the sport but he has the natural ability that you need and if he can get the all important first win against Mansell, he'd have a chance.
Mansell is a player I like and I think he has every chance of beating Smith in there head-2-head but I'll stick to the one outright for tonight

Sure enough from Jenkins being something like 300 up on the final leg and losing 5-4 missing 6 darts and Huckvale being 4-1 up and losing 5-4 i'm supremely confident that I have zero luck at the moment. One of the worst mornings of darts, quality wise that I've seen in this Modus darts league. Perhaps all the good players have gone to the evening shift.
Speaking of that, the guy that has moved over is who I'll be taking tonight. Jason Askew will face up against David Evans, Wessel Nijman, Wolfie and Boris Koltsov tonight in what is easiest the hardest group we'll see in this Modus league from now until May's finish, I'm sure.
I'm going to take Askew. The 9/2 on offer is a big price in my opinion as it does seem like Evans and Nijman have been tailing off alittle. Koltsov will be an interesting one and maybe one to keep an eye on.

Well it looks like I picked the wrong outsider of the two, between Woodhouse and Evetts. Woodhouse winning all 3 and producing a 9 darter. Atleast Evetts did beat Rowby to bring some profit for once.
With two favourites going out in a row, it's the turn of one of the outright picks, in Dave Chisnall.
    Group 3:
    S.Waites
    D.Chisnall
    J.Dekker
    J.Worsley

I think Chisnall goes through this otherwise I wouldn't have put him up as an outright tip. Waites would be the other worry of the rest and I've heard he just has a dartboard at the top of his stairs and makes me wonder how much practising he's actually doing at home. Chisnall however, I know is.

A pretty awful day 1 from a betting perspective. Looking at Day 2 Gerwyn Price gets involved tonight. I think this event may take a little while to see each players ability at home. It seems to be abit random. I'm going to give Ted Evetts a chance tonight. I'm also going to side with him in the match market against Rowby Rodriguez. Evetts has beaten Rowby for the last 3 matches together.

Another poor betting day. Tomorrow is the last day of this group. Annoyingly a player I backed a few days ago, Cole wins the group. Despite this, he still comes into this as a big outsider and that is enough for me to give him another crack at the group win.
Askew leads the table by 6pts so it's very likely he will win this event. He is driving me crazy with his darts right now though. Whenever I back him he finds a way to lose on leg difference or loses to the worst player. I'll just back Cole to win the day and hope I can get abit of luck my way

    Group 1
    P. Wright
    N. Zonneveld
    J. Lewis
    P. Jacques
Not the greatest of value hanging around in tonight's opening group. Peter Wright looks a shoe-in to come through it and most likely to do it with a 100% record. There's a couple i like though. Peter Jacques is 501st in the rankings and only has a couple of grand to his name in winnings tally this year. A couple of last 64 places in Barnsley and Wigan and a last 32 placing, also in Wigan. His best result being a thrashing of Max Hopp 6-0 in Barnsley and a win over Mensur Suljovic.
I think all 3 could beat Jacques tonight but Zonneveld has a few good results under his belt including wins over Ratajski, Simon Whitlock and James Wade, Whilst also pushing Rob Cross in the UK Open. I'm backing him to beat Jacques tonight.
Jamie Lewis is abit of an unknown tonight. After such a bright start to his career and being a top 30 player 2 years ago, he now finds himself 229th in the rankings. He has beaten Michael Smith and De Zwaan this year though so he has the ability.

This gets underway tonight. Four tour card players play eachother, with the winner of each night going into the Last 32. 32 nights and 32 groups of this so it's very much a "world cup of darts" type event that is going to go on and on.
This has plenty of huge prices in it and I'm not sure everybody is going to adapt to playing at home, so you can't just assume the favourites are going to win the event. I'm going for some outsiders in this
Chisnall may be a perfect candidate. He scores well and he hasn't got the pressure of being up on stage. Durrant is playing some great stuff at the moment in the Premier League and I'll back him to continue that. Especially the doubling. Of the outsiders, there are a few that I am surprised to see at such big odds.

The evening group has last nights winner, Wessel Nijman missing today, whilst David Evans comes back into the fray following a rest day. Evans is 8pts away from Nijman and so if he was to win every match tonight, they would again be level on points. Either way Evans will close the gap tonight. Mitchell and Adams are only a couple more wins away from the pack.
On the whole, when I look at potential group winners tonight, I'm going to rule out Barney, Edhouse and Scott Mitchell. Barney lost all four of his matches last night with one of those matches scoring an average of just 66. Edhouse has lost 12 out of his 16 matches, so for him to get 3 wins on any day looks unlikely. Scott Mitchell is just too hot and cold with his scoring. I've lost patience.
Evans is obviously the favourite tonight, and a worthy one, but I like the value on Wolfie. Wolfie won 3 out of 4 yesterday and only lost to Wessel Nijman (who isn't here tonight). He isn't a huge scorer but the rest are really having issues with doubles. On the whole if you took out Nijman and Evans, Wolfie has only lost to Scott Mitchell ( 80 avg) once. Wolfies first match is against the returning David Evans too, Evans is returning after a day off. Even if Evans comes out the blocks well, I can't see that being a slaughter (Lost 5-4 and 5-3 to Evans last few days) and we've seen alot of players winning the group on 3pts.
I'll also, as maybe a saver some would say, take Evans to come here and win all four. The others in reality are way below the standard Evans has set this couple of weeks and without Nijman, every chance.

Really hard to get any consistency in betting with these events. Players go from MVG to Clowns. Just the one for tonight Probably win 3 in a row then lose the last and lose on leg difference for the third time in a week.

Wessel Nijman wins all four of his matches to top the group, for today. Annoyingly, the match schedule all got moved around and the key match of the day (Nijman Vs Evans) was all of a sudden Evans first match of the day (Nijman's second). Nevertheless, Evans should have won. 3-1 up and threw it away to lose 5-4. From there, from the betting perspective atleast it really didn't matter.

Yesterday afternoon was won by Monk. Monk topped the group with 3 wins out of 4 after initially losing out to a deciding leg to Askew. He won by far superior leg difference to 2nd (ironically Askew.) Jenkins and Cole came 3rd with 2pts and Collins lost all 4.
I think Askew's price is too big. He got 4 180s in that shock 5-0 loss to Cole. It was his lowest average of the day and was still above 90. His 3 averages after that match was 92.12, 98.78 & 97.44. Add the fact he beat Monk and I think 11/4 is value. I also think Jarred Cole at double digits is abit mad. Again, every match he played in was above 90 and there are signs he is growing into the competition. Something you need to do here.

Monk wins the group. Only losing out to a deciding leg in which he also should have won in all fairness.

Looking to tonight and I can't see anything but another Evans win. The guy is just playing awesome right now and it wouldn't surprise me if we saw another 4 in a row from him, tonight. I can only see Nijman being able to cope with his scoring. Based on that the fact the bookies are offering such skinny odds on Evans, I'll side with the clean sweep on this.

Oh, I thought your bet was Jenkins (+1.5), notanother?
It could have been a better day for me today. I really feel like Jenkins should have won the morning session. Always harder to lose on leg difference. Looking at tomorrow morning, I'm going to go with the favourite for once. I think tomorrow is finally Monks day. He has been very unlucky. It hurt me on day 1, when he found a way to come 2nd with a 92 average. Today he he didn't even win a match until his third match and that's with an average of 96.30. He should be beating the likes of Jenkins, Askew, Collins and Cole.

Whilst the morning session gets into full swing, we can have a proper look at the evening session. This evening Martin Adams takes a breather whilst Scott Mitchell comes in. Nijman is the favourite, which comes as no surprise. Evans is the 2nd favourite. Once again, no value in either of these two guys unless you're willing to brave the full sweep. I'm happy to rule out Barney again and Edhouse. Edhouse needs to show me he can double before I look at him.
That leaves me with Scott Mitchell, who I think is a nice price to cause trouble to the big 2. He isn't playing as well as he used to but he did win an event back in late Jan.

Tonight at 7pm it's Warwickshire Vs Essex. Dan Mousley taking on Jamie Porter. This is all very much tongue-in-cheek in terms of betting because it's just 30 balls each and it's game played by casual gamers but by my limited research, I would say Dan should be favourite here and at 11/10 with Paddypower, i'll give it a few points.
