  1. Re: Cricket : Champions League Twenty20 2011 Was tempted by Cape Cobras last night but decided against it. Have noticed Stuart Clarke and Hughes arent playing for NSW and I think this makes a good bit of difference to their team. There is a lot of pressure on Warner and Watson here because the batting looks weak to me. Going to try and get on Cobras at a good time, hopefully NSW will have a good final 2 powerplay overs without a wicket and the price will jump up.

  2. Re: Rugby World Cup 2011

I cant have Australia at that sort of handicap vs a team that ran Ireland close and will not finish bottom of the group. There are a few major differences between todays mauling and tomorrows game. USA haven't just been smashed by two lesser teams. There are actually 7 world ranking points LESS between these two teams and SA and Namibia. USA +60.5 Willhills @ evens
middled on this after about 15 minutes of the second half when it looked like USA were flagging. Was quite surprised to see anyone struggle that bad against that australia front row, cant help but think these easy games will be their downfall when they turn up undercooked for SA.

  4. Re: Cricket : Champions League Twenty20 2011

Nothing for me in the opening match tomorrow. Have Leicestershire outright so will see how they've settled in before I get stuck in. May come back with something for the 2nd game. -5.8 after today but that should've been +3.2 because Auckland should've won. Not sure the pitch was too bad GF. Awful running cost us on Auckland. To lose Guptill to a run out first ball was far from ideal and then KKR just squeezed with the spinners. I thought the wicket played quite well in both matches, the bowlers just bowled well in both games, especially that second one. Will be interesting to see if there are high scoring matches tomorrow because the two English sides deal in high scoring games.
I didn't really mean they were bad wickets, just strange, and felt like the batsmen didn't have any confidence in them because once they lost a few wickets they stopped going after it.
  5. Re: Cricket : Champions League Twenty20 2011 Unlucky Kev. Followed you on Auckland and I think they were a little bit naive in the middle overs. Onto tomorrow. I have already taken Auckland at evens with boyles vs Somerset. Somerset are missing a huge chunk of their batting in Buttler, Tresco and Keiswetter and Aucklands attack impressed me today. I am not going to touch a bet that involves scoring runs (6s, boundaries) because that pitch was a nightmare and I heard them mention that there was another wicket with different soil on the commentary ?! Feel like Leicestershire probably have the mental beating of TnT but they do have a pretty talented lineup, quite an even match up.

  6. Re: Cricket: England vs India T20 International & ODI Series plus Ireland vs England

2 for me in the 3rd ODI. 7pts Over 5.5 6's Evs Ladbrokes Not sure what this line is all about at The Oval with it's small boundaries but I'm happy to jump on it and the only thing which is stopping it from being a maximum bet is the fact India are untrustable at the minute. In saying that even though they continually get battered their batsmen have got the big hits away and the likes of Raina has just peppered the crowd at the Rose Bowl which is a much bigger ground than this one is so India should be able to chip in with the 6's. England can do pretty much whatever they like with this India 'attack' and when Cook is hitting a 6 at the Rose Bowl you know you are cannon fodder. India's batting line up still retains it's explosiveness and England can take their pick how many they score so on a good batting deck and a small ground I'm as confident as can be given the way India have played this summer that we'll see at least 6 6's here.
spot on. I guess the bookies saw this wicket before they priced the match up.
  7. Re: Rugby World Cup 2011 I think the England price is about right. They have pedigree in the World Cup but they haven't looked at their best the last few months and look as though they will struggle to create again if the 2nd match against Wales is anything to go by. I have been looking at this from a Welsh perspective and I cannot for the life of me work out why Ireland are so much shorter than Wales. Wales need to beat SA to get anywhere in this tourney because I can't see anyone other than Australia winning the other group. Should be an interesting weekend anyway. I agree with the above though, I don't think we should be +13.5 vs SA on sunday, we have shown a resiliance recently that makes me think we will not get blown out the water by anyone, whether we can create enough chances to compete with the better teams Idk though.

  8. Re: Cricket: Friends Life t20 looks to be cruising to victory here. Just a question, anyone know if this bet stands if overs are reduced. And if it doesn't, what if it has already won when the rain hits? That must be a win as long as the game is completed right? Looks to me like there could be a bit more rain later on.

  9. Re: England: Championship Aug 5-7 I thought we (Cardiff) might be quite a good price this weekend but I feel like its priced up pretty much spot on. I would be very happy with a draw vs what I feel is by a decent margin the best squad in this division. I think this year with Earnie and Miller we might actually take our chances. I remember so many games last year where we could/should have been 2-3 goals up at half time, went in 0-0 and then lost our way a bit and scraped a draw. I think Big Sam has to get off to an impressive start and probably cant afford to sit on a 1-0 lead vs us. I also don't think Malky will turn up for a 0-0, it just isn't a good idea in such a competitive league. If over 2.5 drifted to > evns then I might be interested as for these reasons I feel there will be goals. Obviously West Ham threaten from almost every position - one worry for me is we could barely buy a goal pre season, however that involved heavy squad rotation. What a mess of a post.

  10. Re: Womens World Cup 2011 yeah there is no doubt US have a good goalie and they have that big fella up front too but if she doesnt get service she is chocolate teapot territory. I just cant see them handling the technical ability that the Japanese possess. We will see, I would be shocked to not see Japan dominate this game and win the tournament. The USAs weaknesses were really shown against France and I think they will get cut open time and time again, France however didnt have anyone to put it in the back of the net. The prices you have listed are to win the tournament, I think its a fair assessment that in a penalty shootout the USA are probably favourites, but I honestly think thats their only hope, keep it tight (0-0, 1-1) for 120 mins. I dont think they are capable of doing that.

  11. Re: Womens World Cup 2011 There is not much going on in this thread, i could see why when I was watching the games. Every team I saw was atrocious, until I watched Japan vs Sweden. Japan are the only team who can play football. They can run, pass, dribble, shoot, hold the ball up better than any team in this competition. I honestly think Japan as underdogs in this final is the best price I have ever seen for any sporting event. USA remind me of Stoke when they first came into the Premier League, they have a big dude up front that will put away any headed chance, but they lack the natural ability of Japan. I dont know much about the sport but watching USA in the quarters and then both of the semi's Japan are by far and away the best team in this competition.

  12. Re: Cricket: Friends Life t20 just found another one - Maynard @ evens vs Hamilton-Brown. I strongly believe Maynard is the better bat and Maynard gets more of a free role where as Hamilton Brown is there to get them off to a quick start. that one is on hills and seemed strange to me as most of the other matchups are between the top run scorers and are closely matched on this years records.

  13. Re: Cricket: Friends Life t20 Hmm I was hoping you would be on Surrey most 6s or total boundaries with hills at 30.5, both of which I like the look of. The only hesitation I have with the total 6s is, as you say, there is a bit riding on the game and people may be apprehensive to chance their arm, I think in these situations the first 10 overs are important, if they get off to a start and hit a 6 or two it could sail over, as players see how possible it is. I think I might go for total boundaries @ 30.5. Surreys games are the oval have got 43,46,25,35,35 and 27. The two under that total were in games where someone scored 110 and 111, I dont think either of these teams will do that tonight (but would rather see Surrey batting first!) edit/ the 46 is an extrapolation where only one innings was played, I actually calculated it wrong, 20 boundaries were scored by the team that batted, so i guess that would have at least gone over this total.

  14. Re: HU and I get shoved OTR. I think the river is a decent spot for him to shove tbh - so if hes decently aggressive, i wouldnt c/c the turn thinking that he will give up on the river. Have you actually seen him flat the flop with a flush draw or is this just an assumption? I just dont think donking the flop is a good idea because I dont think he will think you would doing this with nut hands and he can just take this raise/bet/shove line and fold everything you have. Its also turned what could have been a small win into one big mind**** off a hand where you are trying to base a huge decision on no information. I think the river is probably a fold vs a range that includes flush draws and some nut hands from the flop and probably a few bluffs too.

  15. Re: Npower Championship > Ante-Post 2011-12 Season Im really starting to like the look of this city side and may take a punt in the hope that the bellamy deal and/or goodwillie gets sorted. Signed Gunnarson today who I think is a cracking signing at this level along with Earnshaw. Really happy with the way the midfield is looking unlike most seasons and I am starting to see us as value to finish top 6 and maybe even for promotion. I think leicesters signings are at best iffy for the money, Mills is a championship centreback and Maynard was injured last year.

  16. Re: Npower Championship > Ante-Post 2011-12 Season I still think anything over a million for him is a lot. He wasnt a youngster then, hes unproven at best at championship level. I actually saw him play for peterboro twice in that season and he was definately playing up front when I saw him. Last year he looked like a flat track bully to me, I think he has a bit more about him than the usual type of player that racks up goals in the lower leagues but he still could definately struggle for goals in the Championship. He is a bit of a journeyman in truth and for 3 million I feel you could expect a bit more than his record suggests he is capable of. Time will tell I guess but if Cardiff had bought him for that money I would be annoyed.

  17. Re: Npower Championship > Ante-Post 2011-12 Season

Is kinda the same for Cardiff but different jase - the new manager being the crucial aspect. I like save jones and think he'll do well again in the future but the end of season self-destruction became something both fans and players walked into. I think we're gonna be banana skins both in the 1x2 betting for a while and season betting.
If the news is true about goodwillie signing and Bellamy does come back (doesnt look as likely now as Celtic are willing to spend the entire worth of their club on him it seems) the side is taking shape. I think the key will be keeping that defense and both keepers fit, its thin for cover at the moment but I think it is a decent unit now with taylor having signed.
