Re: The Jockey Thread
According to RacingUK yesterday, Murphy was found to be the sole aggressor, and his shoulder popped out as one of the valets tried to prevent a scuffle. There was no blame of any sort attached to Elsworth.Has it been announced yet if Elsworth will get a ban as well? Id be fuming if someone attacked me and I had my livelihood taken away from me for defending myself. -

Re: cheltenham chat thread 2013
Cheltenham Spa to the course is an absolute nightmare, in fact unless you get to the course ridiculously early, you would be quicker walking it and it is not a short walk, the bother getting taxi's is a total pain too. I would certainly consider coach travel, National Express have coaches running from their terminus in Brum, it's £20 return and worth every penny, you're dropped off and picked up on the coach park behind the Best Mate enclosure. It is late in the day so I'm unsure of the availability but it's definitely an option to consider. I've used it more than once and it's cracking value for money.Really looking forward to my maiden trip to the festival next week but in need of a bit of advice. I'm travelling on the train from Birmingham and hear it gets insanely busy. Any fellow midlanders got any idea about how early I'll need to get to New Street by to make sure I get a train to Cheltenham in plenty of time. Any advice gratefully received. Apologies if this isn't the right place for this query. Thanks. -

Re: *****PL Tipster Comp - £400 Cash for Horse Racing Tipsters only! From Feb 1st****
Ted, if your odds are over 21.00 and your original stake was 10pts, just email and I will reduce your stake accordingly.7. The rules of staking are as follows. (Effective 1st July 2012) Odds of 1.10 - 21.00 - Stakes up to 10pts or 5pts each way for horse racing & outright bets are allowed. Over 21.00 and above - Limit stakes to 2pts or 2pts each way for horse racing & outright bets. . Thats fair enough but with racing settled as SP you don't know if its going to be less or more than 20/1 so i take it its ok to put 5 e/w and it will just be adjusted to 2 e/w and not be voided or get suspended as it could happen regularly with my picks. -
Re: *****PL Tipster Comp - £400 Cash for Horse Racing Tipsters only! From Feb 1st****
You can't cancel bets once settled but you should email any bets that need correcting to and they'll be dealt with. Include every bet in the email that needs sorting. Also it seems I have to say this again, any queries about the tipster competition should be sent to the aforementioned email address, because your problems will get addressed much quicker than putting them in this thread.cheers andy, just done that but feel like a right doughnut, just settled my bet but im so used to updating my thread at a 1 point LS ive settled my comp bet at 1 point and not the 10 points i had on it, so last question i promise, how do i cancel that and re do at 10 points. off to liven myself up now Chilli -
Re: *****PL Tipster Comp - £400 Cash for Horse Racing Tipsters only! From Feb 1st****
Hi Chilli. The odds for horse racing, unlike tips for football, tennis or any other sport for that matter, are entered at the settling stage. So when you decide to settle your racing bet, enter the SP odds, then whatever profit or loss your tip has made. Just make sure you enter the "-" symbol then click "loss" for any losses, and for a winning tip just enter the profit rather than the total return and select "win". hope that helps.Hi Aidymac, just a quick un on the settling of bets, you said they are settled at SP, had a scout over the rules and it says.............10. BOG (Best Odds Guaranteed) prices are not allowed, please choose either starting price or take the price. thats why i asked where i put the price in, i'd rather take the 15/8 price at the time of entry (backed up on my systems/personal thread entered at the same time) rather than the 11/10 SP. before i settle up do you or someone else know if its taking a price or settling at SP. sorry to be a pain mate but only been posting since the turn of the year and first time ive entered a comp. Cheers Chilli -
Re: jump racing 26th january
Last Shadow is a very interesting one in this race. ATR analysed his debut over hurdles at Doncaster just over 2 weeks ago and it appeared that Tony McCoy was under strict orders just to get this horse round safely without any fuss. In fact I don't think AP even showed the whip to the horse that day which is something you rarely hear about when it comes to him. It finished a decent fourth, doing the best work at the end of the race and it definitely looks like a great each way bet tomorrow. I'll be doing the same bet as BH. :ok12.10 Cheltenham: JCB Triumph Hurdle Trial Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 2) (2m1f) An intriguing race to kick the meeting off and round one in the battle between the big two stables who always do well at these meetings, I think the rest have it all to do worry either Irish Saint or Rolling Star but Last Shadow is put forward as the each way bet in the race. As for the winner, well I do like the way Nick Henderson has been bringing his novices along this season and I don’t think Irish Saint is the best of the bunch at Ditcheat so on this occasion will side with Rolling Star on his British debut. Selections: 2pts Rolling Star 13/8

It took me about 10 seconds to find this from Hills rulebookApperantly according to Wh my bet is void as he didnt star t.7. ANYTIME WINCAST: a. An Anytime Wincast requires you to select a player to score anytime and their team to win in a double. Bets will be settled at the combined odds advertised or displayed. Unless otherwise stated extra time does not count. b. If a player does not start a match Anytime Wincasts bets are void. Anytime Wincasts will be void if a match is abandoned. If the only goals in the match are own goals, an Anytime Wincast will be settled on the team to win at the appropriate odds. -
Re: The 200/1 Premier League Thread, and why PL members should take advantage. Just to update this thread following Spurs' win at Sunderland today..... Spurs are 120 to back, and there are small amounts to lay Spurs at 150, 160 and 170. With this potentially awkward game behind them at Sunderland should they do what is expected against QPR and Reading, RIO's strategy looks well on course.

Re: The 200/1 Premier League Thread, and why PL members should take advantage.
Yeah I understand the basis behind trading' date=' and in betting you never say never. But I wouldn't take Spurs to win the league at 1000/1 as they have virtually 0.001% chance of winning. So for me the guaranteed return is provided by just laying them to win the title.. :unsure[/quote'] That means you could have a hell of a lot of money tied up for almost 6 months. RIO's suggestion makes much more sense in my opinion as in the outlay and risk/reward is low. -

Re: Point-to-Points
From what I've read CC has some really competitive cards and good crowds so the Christmas meeting is definitely on my list. I usually get together with a few mates at Wolverhampton's New Years Eve meeting but I'll persuade them to do the Chaddesley Corbett this year instead. It will be a refreshing change :okAndy, Chaddesley Corbett is also one of the best tracks in the country and the quality of racing probably wont be beaten at any other track. I will be at that meeting in December as I am orginally from Gloucester and will be home for Christmas. You will see some good horses at that meeting and usually a Foxhunters contender wins the Mens Open on the card. 3 years ago it was Cappa Bleu, then Roulez Cool and last year was My Flora. -
Re: Point-to-Points I was only speaking about going to a Points meeting to a mate when at Cheltenham last weekend. Chaddesley Corbett is only up the road from where I live and it's crazy to think I've only been once in my entire life. The first meeting this season at CC is December 28th so I've pencilled that in.

Re: Antepost bets & Discussion - Jump Season 2012/13
Follow the Plan wouldn't place in a grade one against primed horses though. To leave a horse out through the winter and then bring them back to run races in top company close to each other is tough to do. My point is that the Aintree race isn't conclusive proof that Hunt Ball is a genuine grade one chaser. Yes' date=' he had many runs last season but mostly around gaff tracks off a low mark. We'll see. His owner is certainly confident but then he always is. It's going to be a great race.[/quote'] My point was, whether I made it well or possibly not, was that Hunt Ball fared the best of those who had had big campaigns and runs a month prior at Cheltenham, with the exception of the lightly raced Burton Port. I'm not sure either if I totally agree that Aintree is an afterthought as you call it, some of the races during the meeting, yes, I absolutely agree. But not a race that offers £85k for coming first. The problem with that Aintree meeting is that there's a Grade 3 Staying Handicap Chase 2 days later that for some reason gets a million times more coverage than the Grade 1 Betfred Bowl that hardly gets a mention. :eyes A lot of the horses were obviously genuinely knackered at Aintree, I said it at the time that it was a race too far that Hunt Ball that season, but only heard in an interview with Knott last week that the horse hardly stood up for 2 weeks after that race. I love listening to Knott when he gets all giddy, but it would definitely be dangerous to blindly take his betting advice, but I personally think there's a lot more to come from Hunt Ball and I can't wait for Saturday to see how he shapes up after a rest.
