  1. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Livescore Thread

Thanks a bunch Slider. Didn't take Troicki because of what you said and now he's up a set and a break. Never listening to you again. :lol;) Really good win for Querrey there' date=' good to see him winning matches again. Djokovic down a set to Stepanek. :loon Unlike the match yesterday, only a matter of time before Novak clicks into gear and passes Stepanek for fun.[/quote'] Ha ha sorry about that one. Just can't back Troicki ever, such a clown, and he literally looks like a special needs guy out there. Can't read the guy at all. Should have just kept by big oar out of it really! :lol
  2. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Great for the tournament it has to be said. Another Murray collapse in the semi final against Nadal has been averted! In some ways even more pressure on Murray. At least to reach the final anyway. Fishy - I fancy Monaco but that's not a strong feeling as Troicki has got the serve to potentially get him through. Just feel that like Chardy Monaco will frustrate Troicki a bit in the rallies.

  3. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Well Lepchenko did it. Had a feeling Pavlyuchenkova would turn to crap again, especially after backing her against Zakapolova at the French when she put in a similarly erratic performance. That takes me to around +30 for the tournament. Some great calls again from Atko(really back on form), IAG and Fishy. Hopefully we avoid a really bad day in this tournament which seems to be sods law and unavoidable in these grand slams fortnights.

  4. Re: Wimbledon 2012

Bookies won't be liking Goffin' date=' some big bets on the handicap coming in :ok[/quote'] Good call that. Goffin really builds up ahead of steam the longer the match goes on I've noticed. Annoyed that I didn't take Baker. His game is designed to take apart a limited serve and volley guy like Nieminen.
  5. Re: Wimbledon 2012

    How about V.Lapchenko (+4.5)?
Yeah go for it. I should do handicaps way more than I do but I'm thinking if Vavara makes a match of it she will be the one who holds herself together and wins so I may as well just go for the outright. She's only just recently found out she'll be in the USA Olympic team as well so she should be further buoyed.
  6. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Vavara Lepchenko to beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova @ 12/5 BET 365 Strength (5/10) At this price I think it's worth taking on Pavlyuchenkova here. Yes it is true that she seems to have somewhat rediscovered her poise in recent months and looks to be getting back to the form of a couple of years ago, however even back then she was unreliable and prone to losing matches like this. Aside from the French last year she hasn't really done anything in slams. Her opponent Lepchenko has improved alot this year, was decent on grass anyway before this improvement, and I'm backing here to be the one who holds her nerve in this match because I definitely think she can run the Russian close. :hope

  7. Re: Wimbledon 2012

Haha Gulbis, you penis! Slider, you deserved that after PP's meltdown :ok
Cheers. Unlucky with Petzschner, arguably a bit fortunate with Janowicz, so I'll take that. I don't know you multiple bets per day guys do it, stressful stuff. Hopefully Bemelmans hangs in there for Fishy.
  8. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Livescore Thread Yeah Petzschner is a lunatic but I knew what I was getting myself into. Certified mental midget if you can't beat someone like Mayer 2 sets to love up and on your favourite surface. Apparently he knows Mayer very well personally as well so probably has a bit of an inferiority complex, judging by today and the head to head. If Mayer mentally checks out of his next match like I think he will then I'll personally go down to SW19 and lamp him :lol

  9. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Livescore Thread

I only get a push out of Mayer but will gladly take that. Feel for slider though' date=' not a nice way to lose a bet. Mayer gets an unfair rep on these threads, however.[/quote'] The problem is that he puts in utterly pathetic performances after these sort of matches though. Losing to players he should beat. He never builds on these sort of results. Had a bad feeling about this one when Petzschner went two sets up, reminded me a bit of their US Open match. Mayer was always going to have his moment in the match and once he gets into the zone then he's literally unbeatable, plays like superman and does those donkey drop shots.
  10. Re: Wimbledon 2012

Back Florian Mayer to beat Philipp Petzschner for a 3/10 stake at 1.80 with Pinnacle It is risky to against slider24 these days, but I think that this is a good match-up for Mayer. In my opinion, he will be the one mixing things up against Petzschner, who is a bit one-dimensional in my opinion and I am not convinced by Petzschner just yet. He can be great on a good day, but he relies on his serve too much for my liking and Mayer should be able to frustrate him with his shots imo. We will see how it goes and there will be a winner in this thread at least ;). For the full preview click here: http://www.punterslounge.com/mayer-vs-petzschner-betting--florian-mayer-can-defeat-his-compatriot-once-again
Go for it mate. I've just got an almost irrational dislike of Mayer :lol
  11. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Good stuff here again. Atko nailed a few good ones it seems and Fishy recovered nicely. Taking a few more bets than usual tomorrow as there's few I can't resist and win or lose I won't regret them. Juan Monaco to beat Jeremy Chardy @ 4/5 BET 365 Strength (7/10) Monaco not a natural grass courter but he's shown alot of improvement this season on all surfaces and I don't see any reason why he can't make good go of it on grass. He was clutch in the first round against Mayer (who can play on the faster surfaces) and with that win behind him he should be full of confidence after losing a few close 1st rounds at Wimbledon over the years ; a bit of monkey off his back. The Frenchman Chardy is dangerous and has a decent game for grass. Hard to read too much into his match against Volandri as the Italian probably just came for the pay check however he's obviously hitting the ball pretty well. The thing is with Chardy is consistency and he's known to get ragged and frustrated if he faces resistance and Monaco is one of the best on the tour for just making you play that extra ball. I think he'll frustrate Chardy, weather the shot-making, and grind him down in four or five sets. Jerzy Janowicz to beat Ernests Gulbis @ 6/4 BET 365 Strength (5/10) Simply put, I don't just don't trust Gulbis to back up his great performance against Berdych with another victory in a match he's expected to win. He won't be playing on centre court and he won't having nothing to lose and this is usually a scenario which brings out the clown in Gulbis. He's also facing a beast on the other side of the net who's already beaten him this year and will just love having the chance to pop his balloon and get under his skin in this sort of occasion. He's made it past the first round for the first time in a Grand Slam and I think he'll just go in without a care in the world and unleash his power game. If Gulbis repeats his serving stats from the Berdych match then it will be tough ask for the Pole but I think his demons will kick in around the second set and I think Janowicz will be ready to strike. His serving was great against Bolelli as well and after the first game he didn't face a break point for the entire match so he can hang with Gulbis in that department even if the Latvian brings his best. Philipp Petzschner to beat Florian Mayer @ 11/10 BET 365 Strength (5/10) Mayer leads the head to head 3-0 however I cannot hide my disdain for his inability to show his talent consistently and his penchant for bowing out of Grand Slams early - and tamely - and so I will gladly go against him here against his countryman. Grass also happens to be Petzschner's favourite surface and he plays at a high level here more often than not. Mayer will most likely start fast and solid as usual however put up any resistance in a best of five against this guy, mix up your game a bit, and more often than not he crumbles. Tursunov was tailor made for Mayer to use his craft and he romped home when he realised the Russian had nothing to hurt him with but Petzschner can slice as well as hit clean from the baseline and I think he'll work Mayer to the brink and Florian will fold. :hope

  12. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Livescore Thread

Good start to day 2 - Paire cruised past Ebden' date=' and the overs came through in Levine/Beck. Just De Schepper tie break left for me.[/quote'] Thank the lord Beck won that tie break. Saved the bet. Levine was by far the better player all match. Although him messing up that second set is sort of typical of him hence the bet in the first place :D
  13. Re: Wimbledon 2012 ATP : Jesse Levine - Karol Beck OVER 38.5 GAMES @ 5/6 bet 365 Strength (5/10) Two journeyman types here and they both have a bit of a track record for getting involved in lengthy matches. Beck the more established grass player who seems to play his best stuff here while Levine is bit more of tricky type with a lefty game, uses craft and guile. He can have dips though in matches and I can't see him beating a seasoned campaigner like Beck in routine fashion and likewise Beck will have moments where Levine gives him a bit of runaround with sharp play. Both of these guys played Zemjla in Nottingham and fared around the same -all close sets - so it just shows they're both playing at a pretty similar level on the grass right now and this should drag on a bit. :hope

  14. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Jerzy Janowicz to beat Simone Bolelli @ 11/10 BET 365 Strength (6/10) Thought long and hard about this one, and despite being tempted to go with the overs I've decided to plump with the outright for the young Pole Janowicz. At 21 years old he's really starting to blossom and he has a very big game. Standing at 6"8 he has a great serve (although more placement than aces) and is also pretty mobile for his size and possesses a murderous forehand. He's won a challenger on clay and reached the latter stages of several others and in the qualifying for this tournament he absolutely mullered the talented American Kudla 6-0 6-1 -6-2, showing that when his game is on he can be nigh on unplayable at times. He did lose to Beck in Nottingham but I think he was still acclimatising from the clay and now he's got used to the grass he should really kick on and maintain his form from the clay events. One thing that could let him down is stage fright, with it being his first main draw slam but he's playing a guy in Bolelli who IMO plays his best against the more established players and somewhat struggles and is vulnerable to the lesser lights. Last year he beat Wawrinka as a lucky loser after being beaten by a player in qualifying of similar standing to Janowicz and playing style ; Kenny De Schepper. So he can struggle as a favourite. He's also liable to throw in poor performances these days and has slipped 100 places in ranking since 2009. Could be a close arduous affair at times but I fancy Janowicz to overpower him when all is said and done. :hope

  15. Re: June 18 - June 24

I understand where you are coming from' date=' however such is the intrinsic nature of this dark indulgence.. If you are going to take the view of not touching Matosevic anymore, then you might as well apply the same to every other player. They all do it. We can never know what is in a players head except the player himself. You also have to remember that he had 2 grueling 3 setters before playing Darcis . He just might have been in a hurry to get off court to prepare for wimbledon . Tournaments before and after slams should be treated with caution.[/quote'] I agree with that. In fact the majority of my picks are centred around predicting mental slumps from players, such as the Harrison - Lu bet, rather than "so and so is a better player so he will win line of thinking". The problem was not Matosevic losing (although judging by Darcis's retirement against Roddick I think Matosevic would've taken the third) it was just the pure ineptitude he showed in closing out that set, something he's excelled at all year apart from maybe Haase in Miami or Indian Wells. That's just unforgiveable for me, to be a rock solid bull all year and then the one time I back him he morphs into a silly girl from the WTA. Me and him obviously do the vibe or jive well together, so I'll take the hint and leave him well alone. Of course, the silly decision from the organisers not to play any singles matches late on Wednesday despite the weather being fine complicated things, and I did get a bad feeling when I heard they would have to play twice today. Although sometimes these things work in your favour so you can't complain too much.
  16. Re: June 18 - June 24

ATP Wimbledon qualifier: Roberto Bautista-Agut to beat Sergei Bubka @ 5/6 BET 365 Strength (6/10) :ok
ATP Eastbourne - Ryan Harrison to beat Yen Hsun-Lu @ 5/6 BET 365 Strength (6/10):ok
ATP - Marinko Matosevic to beat Steve Darcis @ 4/5 BET 365 Strength (5/10) :\
No doubt about it, Matosevic showed muggery of the highest order. 4-1 up in the second set and *30-40 to go 5-1 up and he makes balls of it. Losing basically every break point on serve as well. This is after possibly being one of the most clutch players I've seen on tour this year. Clown and I won't be touching him again.
