  1. Re: Uefa Cup Wed 12 - Thurs 13th March

Hi, First of all, i want to say-that you as well as others, look at this match as a fan, not as gambler. Rangers is without their main striking force and came to Germany just to keep result and to play on counter attack. It's not a secret that Werder will keep posession ant they need to create chances. Rangers will defend and they don't need to score-just to keep result from first leg.So, to try make bet on away win i don't see any real advantages. I saw CL match in Stutgart, when Rangers tried to defend-but in the end, Stutgart broke their defence. For me, Werder are big favourites-they are playing at home, many great supporters behind them, they will play undoubtly as first number in this match, so i've chosen Werder (-1) http://www.betwizards.info/profile.php?uid=36

How has he looked at it as a fan? Think you have totally midinterpreted that post. He pointed out Rangers are without their striking force and was answering the previous guys post wondering why Rangers were 5/1, I agree with you Werder are a strong home team and should win.
  2. Re: Uefa Cup Wed 12 - Thurs 13th March

Why are Rangers such a high price? Anyone know?
Werder's home form in Europe is pretty formidable over the past few years last year beating Chelsea and holding Barcelona in Bremen. On their run to the UEFA Cup semi-final last season they comfortably beat Ajax 3-0 and Alkmaar 4-1. This season has seen impressive scalps once more beating Lazio 2-1 and Real 3-2 in the group stages at home. They have a strong domestic home record also 10 0 2 and are the highest scorers with 34 goals. Rangers on the other hand, apart from a 3-0 victory in Lyon where everything went right for them don't have a recent history of posting victories in tough away european matches and having won the first leg 2-0, would be happy with a narrow defeat or even 3-1 or any draw would send them through so I hope that helps to explain Rangers price, assuming you mean to win the game over 90 minutes.
  3. Re: UEFA Cup 21 February

with the HT FT bet. Does the score go back to 0 at start of 2nd half or is it for the overall score of the game? ie - Spurs win 1st half 4 -0 but lost 2nd half 1-0, do they still win the HT/FT bet?
The bet would still be a winner as even though Spurs lost the second half they were winning at half time and full time.
  4. Re: UEFA Cup 21 February Panathinaikos v Rangers Time of first goal, 29 mins or after @ 2.05 6/10 The first leg was 0-0 and Rangers will again set up 4-5-1 and be difficult to break downhoping to nick a goal from a set piece or on the break. Not many chances were created in the first leg and while Panathianikos will be more adventorous here they didn't impress me enough going forward in the first leg to back them even at 11/10 but may have a go at them in running depending on how the games going.

  5. Re: Champions League (Feb 20th)

well lads not tryin t gloat:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol but i told ye barca wud win and by the possession stat alone they well deserved it and were second fiddle for most 2nd half... lost giving celtic a 1 goal start but made back with barca outryt and over 2.5.. as for united its lookin worrying we were bad:lol
Yeah we were outclassed and Barcelona were excellent but the game changed when Gary Caldwell passed straight to Ronaldinho and Barca equalized to make it 2-2, everyones heads dropped after that. Idiot :@
  6. Re: Champions League (Feb 19th)

listen lads celtic are a shambles who do they play every week in scotland st mirren kilmarnock aberdeen blah blah blah such poor teams no wonder its a 2 horse race in scotland apart from hearts a couple of seasons ago, celtic get way ahead of themselves scoring how many goals in 3 games who cares ur aswell to be playin a non league team every week and are still fickle to think you's are hotshots ONLY 1 TEAM MAN UNITED... never mind celtic in CL uefa cup is too much for them their lucky theyve got such an easy league to get a pathway into CL.when rangers come up against them in scotland i expect a comprehensive win for rangers(and im not a rangers fan_:lol:lol:lol:lol dont hate celtic but i do their supporters who are soooooooo BIG headed COME ON THE BARCA TO SHUT ALL YER MOUTHS I THINK THERES A LOT OUT THERE WHO AGREES WITH ME AND I CERTAINLY WILL LOVE WATCHIN THIS GAME BARCA-1 OR -2 TNYT AND DONT FORGET CORRECT SCORE 3-1 BARCA:hope:hope:hope
I assume your still hurting from this:
Yes thats right shambolic Celtic beating Man Ure 1-0. Just another example of Celtic beating English opposition despite your claims we are terrible and play in a mickey mouse league. Yet we went to Anfield and won 2-0, and Ewood Park and won 2-0, to be honest its getting a little boring, we have played the best you have to offer and won time and time again. While we were taking AC Milan to extra time last year Utd were getting pummelled 3-0 by the same opposition. It seems you like a lot of other Utd fans can't handle the fact Celtic fans p*ss all over you and your joke club, run by Glazer to make a profit, you are nothing but a global brand full of glory hunting cockneys and supporters from Asia and North America who support Utd as a result of the brand, fair play to the fans of FC Utd who took a stand and realized unlike Celtic your club has no soul. Barcelona may well win but Celtic have nothing to prove to anyone, nevermind a dimwitted clown like yourself, any lurking moderators could you please remove this guys posts as he is making a mockery of a good forum with plenty of decent tipsters, run along now until its time for Celtic to beat you again. Hope you enjoy eating your prawn sandwich while watching that free kick :rollin
  7. Re: Champions League (Feb 19th) My bet for tonight is small stakes on a couple of draws : Doubles from Liverpool v Inter draw Roma v Real Madrid draw Schalke v Porto draw Like JC Tips, i think they all look tight affairs, its rare to see Liverpool as high as 2.62 at Anfield and you wouldn't put it past them to conjure up another special European performance but you can't back them with any confidence on recent form and with Inter flying in Serie A they are the side coming into this in good spirits and they can earn a stalemate to take back to the San Siro. The other two games I fancy the away sides to progress but in front of partisan crowds in Rome and Gelsenkirchen I think both would consider a draw an excellent nights work and even 0-0 is considered a half decent result for a home team in 2 legged affair these days, these games all look tight so I think 2 from 3 draws offers some decent value at around 3.25 for each with small stakes. Left out the other tie as although Greece is a difficult place to go and get a result and have impressed so far in the group stages of this campaign, Chelsea are getting players back fit with Didier Drogba expected to start and while the BBC are reporting John Terry and Frank Lampard may start from the bench they have proved they have enough cover in their Premiership form to cope without the England stars. This looks the most likely to be an away win this evening but I think I'll steer clear of this one.

  8. Re: Champions League (Feb 20th)

very optimistic lads ur bettin with ur hearts rather than ur heads.. barca will beat celtic hands down and are only team t beat em in europe i wudn read too much into that but with the quality on display henry eto'o messi ronaldinho iniesta the celts wont need to go t nou camp 4 2nd leg theyll be well beaten.. 3-1 t barca get on at 16s
I wouldn't say they were betting with their hearts, if you look at Celtic's home record it is a bit simplistic to say Barcelona will win hands down and undermines all our achievements in recent years. Previous results include 11th March 2004 Celtic 1-0 Barcelona 14th September 2004 Celtic 1-3 Barcelona Barca are the only side to beat us on home soil but that was a Celtic team that was ageing and about to disintegrate and was our worst Champions League group campaign, the only time we have finished bottom from a group. Even then, emotions were running high with the return of a Celtic legend, Henrik Larsson. Celtic have also hit form domestically over the last couple of weeks and have impressed in 5-1 victories over Kilmarnock and Aberdeen and beating Hearts 3-0 also. In Aiden McGeady we have our very own Messi, the Republic of Ireland international has been on scintillating form and he carried Celtic through the 1-0 victory over Benfica scoring the only goal. This will also be the first time both McGeady and Nakamura have started a European game since the qualifier against Spartak Moscow and both are capable of moments of magic which can open up any defence. Barca have also had a disappointing season domestically with a 4 6 2 away record and these include visiting grounds not as intimidating as Celtic Park. In the group stages they were unbeaten away from home drawing at both Rangers and Lyon, this will be a different game from the last one they played in Glasgow, Rangers went 4-5-1 to contain Barcelona and made life very difficult for them and Barca grew frustrated and seemed more content in keeping the ball and showboating than actually winning the game. While Celtic will keep it tight, we will have much more threat going forward with Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Scott McDonald both in decent form looking to get on the end of anything created by McGeady or Naka. You talk about Ronaldinho and Henry, both quality players but none have been firing on all cylinders this season and Ronaldinho will be lucky to start based on his recent performances. The one worry for Celtic would be defensively with Andreas Hinkel cup-tied youngster Paul Caddis could deputise in the Champions League who impressed at Kilmarnock earlier in the season. If Strachan opts for experience the reliable Paul Hartley could start at right back although Celtic would miss his drive and excellence in the holding role and central defender Gary Caldwell has also played right back in this competition. The McManus/Caldwell partnership has generally been solid in this competition although both are prone to errors domestically and against the threat of Messi and co will have to be on their guard. I think this will be a tight game and could see it ending in a draw which I'm sure Barcelona would be delighted with although the price of Celtic at 5(on Betfair) it is tempting and I think if we can get a goal which I expect us to Parkhead will be throbbing and European nights at that ground really are magical. Personally id go with 2pts on Celtic at 5.0 and 2pts on the draw at 3.5 which would leave a guranteed profit of at least 3 points. As for your last comment about not bothering to turn up at the Nou Camp, I think it might just be worth it considering we are unbeaten there, including our only Champions League away point in a 1-1 draw and a goalless draw which saw us knock Barcelona out of the UEFA Cup ;) Barcelona are capable of beating anyone on their day but I feel in light of our home record and Barca's mediocre away form you may want to re-think your staking as bet of the century seems a bit strong, personally I'd be surprised if we lose this one.
  9. Re: Champions League (Feb 20th)

I think Man United will be far too strong for Lyon. I have watched them a couple of times this season' date=' particularly against Rangers and Rangers tore them apart in Lyon and i just think Man United have a bit too much class for them. As for the others - i won't be touching.[/quote'] The Lyon rangers game was one of those freak results where Rangers scored with every chance they had and got all the breaks, Lyon held Barca and beat Stuttgart in their other group games before gaining revenge against Rangers at Ibrox. Benzema is a top striker and will be a threat - I think this will be a tricky tie for Utd, they should have enough to see off Lyon at Old Trafford but the game at the Stade Gerland could go either way.
  10. Re: Africa Cup of Nations - semis 7/2 I'm gonna back Ivory Coast tonight aswell. I fancied them before this tournament and regret not getting a piece of the 4/1 on offer for them to win it outright. I said to myself I'd watch their game with Nigeria first, I was impressed with them in that and they have been commanding ever since. Egypt have some dangerous players including the unpredictable Mohammed Zidan but I feel the Elephants will want revenge for their final defeat to Egypt two years ago especially Drogba who missed the vital penalty. Ivory Coast @ 1.70 6/10

  11. Re: International Friendlies (Feb 2-6)

Croatia is the bet!Cant see anything else then a HW.I cant say much because when youre own team or country plays you just know when they are gonna winn or loose easy. And today Holland will have no chance vs Croatia.I have seen all Holland matches and some of Croatia. And when Bilic says they want to winn very bad, then its a 10/10 on HW.Maybe not the best reasons i give you guys, but i know Holland very good and they will have no chance here. 10/10 Croatia
You got any links to anything Bilic has said mate? Cheers :ok
  12. Re: International Friendlies (Feb 2-6) Don't normally bet on friendlies but felt with tonight being Capello's first game in charge it is worth getting involved. The Italian is renowned for his discipline and the first thing he will make sure is that England are solid defensively, like he did with Real Madrid, transforming them from Galacticos to work-horses. He'll be desperate to get off to a winning start. The 1.40 on offer for a win is crappy so I like the look of England to win to nil @ 2.20 or England to keep a clean sheet at 1.83, both on bet365. Capello will have the defence well drilled and with Streller and Frei missing for Switzerland their attacking threat is handicapped. Small stakes as their is always the chance of a freak goal/dodgy penalty. England to win to nil @2.20 3/10

  13. Re: Africa Cup of Nations - matches 28/1 - 31/1 Gonna have a go at Egypt HT/FT at 2.20 on bet365. As its the last game in the group and Egypt only need a point to gurantee top spot these games always carry a risk but the ease with which Cameroon put goals past Zambia makes the 2.2 on offer look tasty for HT/FT rather than the 1.85 for (-1) handicap. Good to actually be able to get to watch the game aswell rather than have to work :) Egypt HT/FT 3/10

  14. Re: Africa Cup of Nations - matches 28/1 - 31/1

Quite tempted by the Cote D'Ivoire at 6/4. The draw is as low as 1.9 due to the fact it would see both teams progress but we have seen this kind of situation before like Milan Celtic earlier in the season where punters lump on a draw believing neither side will want to take too many risks. It is a risk especially the longer the game goes on but for me the Elephants are the strongest team in the competition and I'm tempted by the 6/4 at an inflated price.
Opted for them in the end and now regretting i didnt put more on it, think this will kick into touch any theories about teams settling for draws especially in the wake of the scandal in Italy games are under more scrutiny than ever.

  16. Re: African Cup of Nations - 24th - 26th Jan

Cameroon -1 AH @ 2.10 Fontbet 10/10 :drums Over 2.5 goals @ 2.0 Canbet 3/10 So the time has now come for me to bet what will surely be my biggest of the tournament. I honestly cannot believe bookies are so generous today and Cameroon’s odds are simply massive. You can even get 1.60 on the straight win if you want, but I’m convinced it will be comfortable and they will win with style. Lets look at the Egypt game - as Youssef says, the defending champions played some superb football in the 1st half, the best I have seen anyone so far in the tournament. Zidan was awesome and ripped apart Cameroon with his pace and skill. But after the break Cameroon responded and played much better, it was as if they needed a kick up the backside just to get them going. As a result of Zambia’s win against Sudan by such a big margin, its essential that Cameroon win this match. I honestly think if they draw it then their competition could be over, although mathematically they would still stay in it. Cameroon are a class team, certainly in terms of attack where they should be able to rip through a Zambian defence that looked so poor against Sudan. I honestly haven’t seen a more flattering 3-0 in all of my life, Sudan probably should’ve won the match themselves!!. I just cannot see Cameroon slipping up in what is sure to be an action packed game. I’m also going to have a punt on the over 2.5 goals here because that price decent as well. Zambia wont be coming out with defensive tactics, for a start they just haven’t got the weapons to be able to do that. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them score a goal, but Cameroon are capable of getting 5 or 6 themselves here if they really need to. This is a big bet for me, and once again I’m putting a lot of eggs into the Cameroon basket. This time I’m almost certain they wont let me down. Egypt v Sudan over 2.5 goals @ 1.61 Bluequare 5/10 One thing that was so striking about the opening round of Group C games was the willingness of all 4 teams to constantly attack. None of them are especially strong in defence and all of the strength and power is in the final third of the pitch. Egypt showed some great skill and pace against Cameroon and there’s no doubt that they’ll be able to breach this poor Sudan defence quite a few times. But I’m not so sure that Egypt will be able to keep it so tight at the back themselves and Sudan could get on the scoresheet. I don’t know how they failed to hit the net facing Zambia, only some poor finishing and some good goalkeeping shut them out. I wouldn’t be completely surprised to see them give Egypt a tough game and I’m not sure that the favourites will cover a -2 AH line. The safest bet is the overs IMO, because this match should be open with both teams always attacking. I expect Egypt will win by something like a 3-1 or 4-1 scoreline, but even if Sudan cant score, then Egypt are quite capable of scoring all the goals necessary for my bet to win.
Great pick mate, well done :ok
  17. Re: African Cup of Nations 20 - 23 January 2008

Going for a Morocco/Mali double on day two of the tournament. Mali have twice drawn with Benin in qualifying but are many people's dark horses for this tournament and if they are to have any chance of splitting the Ivory Coast and Nigeria they will need to hit the ground running here against a Benin side who do not possess the same quality as Mali with household names such as Freddie Kanoute and Mahamadou Diarra. Don't know much about Namibia but again there looks a gulf in class here. Morocco are coached by the experienced Henri Michel who took them to the 1998 World Cup and they should be comfortable enough here.
Always good to get a winning start to the tournament, Benin were unlucky not to take something in the end, wasn't too impressed in Mali from what I saw of the second half. Great shout on the Kalou pick Christo :ok
