  1. Re: Comments desired..... What about this hand here (I am only really focused on my post flop raise)... I'll put my thoughts out here instantly... woman eater in my book is obviously a weak tight player and even with the crazy odds here i feel he would 100% fold a 10x to my raise (even preflop for that matter)... that being said I feel that if I have any chance to win a big pot like this with smallish exposure I'll take that... anyone else of that opinion... or any other for that matter...:ok PokerStars Game #19565182944: Tournament #101705012, $4.00+$0.40 Hold'em No Limit - Level X (300/600) - 2008/08/12 - 15:27:50 (ET) Table '101705012 20' 9-max Seat #4 is the button Seat 1: opy112 (24980 in chips) Seat 2: womaneater (5375 in chips) Seat 3: Marieeye (11910 in chips) Seat 4: iChipd (21331 in chips) Seat 5: 2*crazyace (26387 in chips) out of hand (moved from another table into small blind) Seat 6: polo95 (11030 in chips) Seat 7: jehrop (9928 in chips) Seat 8: wouter_money (13716 in chips) Seat 9: Äxxl Foley (29554 in chips) opy112: posts the ante 50 womaneater: posts the ante 50 Marieeye: posts the ante 50 iChipd: posts the ante 50 polo95: posts the ante 50 jehrop: posts the ante 50 wouter_money: posts the ante 50 Äxxl Foley: posts the ante 50 polo95: posts small blind 300 jehrop: posts big blind 600 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to iChipd [8h 9h] wouter_money: folds Äxxl Foley: folds opy112: folds womaneater: calls 600 Marieeye: folds iChipd: raises 1400 to 2000 polo95: calls 1700 jehrop: folds womaneater: calls 1400 *** FLOP *** [6d Ts Kc] polo95: checks womaneater: bets 600 iChipd: raises 1800 to 2400 polo95: folds womaneater: raises 925 to 3325 and is all-in iChipd: calls 925 iChipd said, "lol burn GUTSHOT...." *** TURN *** [6d Ts Kc] [Ah] *** RIVER *** [6d Ts Kc Ah] [2s] *** SHOW DOWN *** womaneater: shows [Qs Kh] (a pair of Kings) iChipd: shows [8h 9h] (high card Ace) iChipd said, "nh" womaneater collected 13650 from pot Am I a misguided fool here or did I just get too excited and got caught with my hands in the cookie jar?

  2. Re: Comments desired.....

You have a tight image but do guys in a $4 tourney pay too much attention to this...I am not convinced that they do. Raising with these hands is great on occasion, and UTG, it should be interpreted as a big hand. As such JT is not a hand I would call, and be out of position on the flop with. His all-in on a flush draw is aggressive and does scream of not wanting to be called. However if he has a 5 or a 7, two hearts or a straight draw, your two pair could be in trouble. I think I would have folded at this point, in fact, I would have folded pre-flop.
:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol Yep definitely should fold preflop... i had decided at this blind lvl to switch gears and as I like to say (no never really) "I never let a tight image go to waste"....:eyes :eyes :eyes ... thanks guys... one thing I will say generally I raise this particular hand because well its UTG but also because against random calling hands it doesn't fair to badly depending on the board... well it must be said that this certainly is one of those boards... in this type of situation my bet is my play and my cards are my backup... ... now in saying this if I am going to fold to this flop i may as well have never even considered my cards preflop (any two would do)... unless something new sticks out (his stack pushing on that flop doesn't truly I considered him holding air a real possibility) I am going to go with my preflop analysis of how the hand may play out...:ok

  4. This kind of poker I love and in the lead up to a number of big tournaments I'll be playing at the Victoria Champs @ crown casino this single tournament has kind of inspired me... mind you this hand history is long but some of you that have time may find interest in it... some may learn from it... and for some it is simply the same old sh*t....:ok ...Be warned if you feel this may waste your time don't blame me it's about 100 hands long...:ok

  7. Re: Man I run Bad in Sng's....

First hand I would make a small raise to Isolate Sea Pigeon and you're ahead of 2 random cards most of the time. Second hand is just a standard race which happens nearly everytime you play a sit n go or MTT. Don't understand why you've posted it to be honest. Sorry if that seems harsh.
I know... because i am a FISH.... ahahaha... really this can be deleted i really was more frustrated in general.... bad examples... seriously delete it... I have moved on already...:ok

  11. Re: Mak's Hand Discuss!!!! Thanks for the interest Nade and I would have loved to start a dialogue concerning .5/1 6 handed games... they are interesting... but I have lost all passion for poker again after just 3 weeks... mind you i have been winning generally (that is I am still well up from when I started) but yet again I just find myself loathing almost every element of the game (at least I kind of feel that way)... i still don't mind live play... it is definitely a different game and less of a grind/ hassle however I will only be playing one more session in an attempt to rekindle enthusiasm... it was all started by this moron claiming that party poker is rigged (Insert racial comment here)... he went on a high horse and this went on for 10 minutes he then moved on to personal insults... the shitty thing was I couldn't knock that fuckers nose through the back of his skull... anyway I work at a casino and this brought up all those feelings of gamblers pissing and moaning when they know they are statistically inclined to lose often (albeit perhaps greater than they actually realise)... botttom line is when poker starts to feel like work... its time to quit poker...I am done ranting (I needed it)... on to the final session and see what comes of it... PEACE... on the plus side if I quit poker again I will be more involved in sports side of it (which i love) and that can only benefit everyone as I have been in top form... not to brag or anything...:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol

What do you reckon Mak? Can you see the different PoV as to why the hand might have played out like it did. ... do you agree/ disagree etc. Good to have some 6handed .50/1 discussion on here :ok
Yeah definitely agree here... I was curious... does it not look like i may have top pair here then when the turn blank comes I am confident to bet... that is the way I tried to play it... perhaps there is an amount you feel would be better on the flop to portray this?

  16. Re: Top Scorer

Alrite, Cheers, Might just wait for his odds to go back out to 5/1 or similar, Heres a question I asked elsewhere but couldnt get clear answer on, concerning the each way bet for top scorer..... Look at this example, I need to know what clarifys as top 4 goalscorer in terms of 'each way' ... Lets say 5 goals: Baros 4 goals: Henry Luca-Toni 3 goals: Robben Modric Padolski 2 goals: Ribbery Klose Ronaldo Loads others Now does each way mean that those on 2 goals would be a winning bet since it's the 4th bracket of scorers, or is it those on 3 goals since that's where the 4th top goalscorer essentialy falls into along with the others on in that 3 goal bracket ?
Baros- winner Henry, Toni - full e/w price Robben/Modric/Podolski- 1/3 e/w price (eg robben @ 13 would pay 5 instead) ... I am not 100% but this makes sense to me....:ok
  17. Re: Mak's Hand Discuss!!!!

my guess is he had a7 or a mid pp,cant see what else he could have:unsure maybe you should have bet a little more on the turn ,it doesnt look like he would have a five or a bigger overpair than you so a better value bet here might force a call for less on the river. if you bet £15-$20 on the turn, its still only half pot so i guess he would still call:unsure then at least the river bet will be better value for him to call.
Yeah I can see that working better... normally 10 would not be my bet there... I kind of wanted things not 2 add up (I had the image of an uber monkey at this point)... was looking for an overbet/push from him... however what you suggests makes sense... thanks...:ok
  18. Re: Germany v Poland (Sunday)

Happy with that. A good solid win for The Germans but I wouldn't get carried away just yet, The Poles are a very poor side. On todays performance you would have to say Austria could well be value to beat Poland once the two sides meet.

2-0, get in there! :nana The 25/1 on offer for Podolski top scorer pre-tournament is starting to look good value now - into 11/4! Shame about Klose - should have had two himself, but nevermind. Germany looked strong going forward, bodes well for the outright bet.
Don't worry about Klose getting two Podolski should have had 4.... at least a hat trick really... those betting on a hat trick in the tourney should feel hard done by... as for his odds... recently a day or two ago he was out to 34 on TAB... :eek

ReasoningWhat a game these two had last weekend. 3-7 was the score in Singapore, although I very much doubt the home fans enjoyed the 10 goal thriller. The Uzbek took the lead twice with Singapore managing to get even on both occasions. However, shortly after the opening 30 minutes it became a one-sided game and the Uzbek scored 3 more in the first half, before they added another in the 2nd half. Singapore pulled one back, but it was too late, and the Uzbek had the final say with yet another late goal. Obvioulsy 1.20 on the home win (10 Bet) is just what big hitter need here. The high rollers need look no further. However, for us -small punters- we need higher odds to get involved, and it's probably worth backing the home win on a -2.25 A.H. @ 1.88 with CanBet, which sounds like a joke considering the Uzbek manage to beat Saudi Arabia by 3-0 at Tashkent. A better choice IMHO would be taking advantage of an obvious error Bet365 made in their lines. Bet365 have their "total goals" line priced @ 1.44 on the over 2.5 goals option. They also have the "goal line" market priced at 1.70 for the over 3.25 option. So, how come the "number of goals in match" has odds of 1.90 on the over 3 goals option?? This is probably the bet of the day, so forget about Euro 2008 (betting-wise, I mean) and forget about the other WC qualifiers, and get on this one before they realise their mistake.
... sorry dude... over 3 on bet365 equates to over 3.5 goals... You need 4 or more...
