  1. I posted this to see what people think is optimal play here to extract most out of the pot. Here I am just hoping the 4th diamond falls and I get paid. I would be willing to push hard if he showed any real strength however min betting all the way 100% says no small/medium flush and with no raise on the river I pretty sure he had no real hand. I have very little experience at this level (have yet to flop nuts before this hand) and have only taken bits and pieces about how players react to a board such as this... Just like to add how shit it is on Paradise you cant see your opp hands once mucked (for me anyways... I would have loved to see his hand) ***** Hand 1276057501 ***** 0.12/0.25 Texas Hold'em (No Limit) - Tuesday, 14 October 2008 4:48:14 AM Turbo TH 68 (Real/Cash Game) Seat 1: Nazzari (21.26) Seat 2: Pistolaa (30.13) Seat 3: JohnnyHP (35.51) Seat 4: he$us (24.38) Seat 5: pedro66 (8.53) Seat 6: RayPenber (40.86) Seat 7: corey77 (26.92) Seat 8: Strato1986 (25.00) Seat 9: Carlito* (7.01) Seat 10: veselinio (32.75) veselinio post SB 0.12 Nazzari post BB 0.25 ** Deal ** Nazzari [N/A, N/A] Pistolaa [N/A, N/A] he$us [N/A, N/A] pedro66 [N/A, N/A] RayPenber [Ad, 7d] corey77 [N/A, N/A] Strato1986 [N/A, N/A] Carlito* [N/A, N/A] veselinio [N/A, N/A] *** Bet Round 1 *** Pistolaa Call 0.25 he$us Fold pedro66 Call 0.25 RayPenber Call 0.25 corey77 Fold Strato1986 Fold Carlito* Fold veselinio Call 0.25 Nazzari Check *** Flop(Board): *** : [Qd, 5d, 4d] *** Bet Round 2 *** veselinio Bet 0.25 Nazzari Fold Pistolaa Fold pedro66 Call 0.25 RayPenber Call 0.25 *** Turn(Board): *** : [Qd, 5d, 4d, 10c] *** Bet Round 3 *** veselinio Bet 0.25 pedro66 Call 0.25 RayPenber Call 0.25 *** River(Board): *** : [Qd, 5d, 4d, 10c, 7s] *** Bet Round 4 *** veselinio Bet 0.25 pedro66 Call 0.25 RayPenber Raise to 3.75 veselinio Call 3.75 pedro66 Fold *** Showdown *** : Rake: 0.50 Total Pot: 10.00 Nazzari Fold Win: 0.00 Pistolaa Fold Win: 0.00 JohnnyHP [N/A, N/A] Highest card queen Win: 0.00 he$us Fold Win: 0.00 pedro66 Fold Win: 0.00 RayPenber [Ad, 7d] Ace high flush Win: 10.00 corey77 Fold Win: 0.00 Strato1986 Fold Win: 0.00 Carlito* Fold Win: 0.00 veselinio Fold Win: 0.00

Preflop: At 2:1 in position against an opponent with a range the size of Americas debt I never fold here... Flop: the A worries obviously and he Cbets (I see it as a Cbet really tells me nothing much) so I pot him to see if he is serious about the hand and he calls. I feel him just calling is a positive probably a weak Ace (perhaps wishful thinking) Turn: as I said I am pretty sure I am ahead atm reinforced by his check and what is essentially a blank (doubt he is calling a large bet w dumb end str draw) I expect him to fold or raise here... not the case but I am almost positive I am ahead now River: Truly a disastrous card... what do I beat now??? not much at all... and when he bets out i am pretty sure I am cooked however with around 7:1 i don't feel I can fold here (and this is the only part of the hand I am unsure as to whether I played Incorrectly or not, I am sure that things may have been done better up till this point I think my play is not Incorrect). Any comments?

Re: PokerNews Cup Australia - October 12-20, 2008 - Rail DaMatrix & Washman Wow I had 3 days off fri sat sun nxt weekend the temptation to fly down and play is amazingly high however its too hard to organise and without any of my poker mates (at least the good ones) available I can't justify it... however I will be following the results and certainly will keep my eye out for you two... congrats and good luck... :notworthy :clap :notworthy :clap :notworthy :clap :notworthy :clap :notworthy :clap

  4. Re: TT Shove or Call? With the limper's stack of 4400 he must have a marginal hand (although being the tourney it is nothing is certain) so you cant really worry about him too much prob overs but will he call the all in... maybe but you are not behind him thats for sure and with that considered you must push... with an m of under 5 the only thing that should stop you pushing is the threat of action that has already entered the pot. You really dont want a caller here however you don't have a choice and if it comes down to it then so be it you should at least be 55%...:ok Note: M is Blinds + antes in relation to your stack in case you haven't read Harringtons yet, which by the way would be a much bigger mistake than calling here...

  5. Re: .5c/.10c Cash Hand (10 handed)

I don't necessarily agree with the notion of 'small hand small pot' just because i've found the beautiful art of value betting very thinly! It's quality the amount of extra bets you can eek out even when a 'scare card' comes' date=' but it's very opponent and read based. Generally though small hand small pot is a sound enough strategy.[/quote'] The main point that effects the hand here is that it is 3 handed with two players that have quite wide ranges.... HU against the raiser I feel I would be happy to value bet all the way home...:ok
  6. Re: .5c/.10c Cash Hand (10 handed)

I think its important to say that there is no issue with playing these sort of hands if you have a plan for the rest of the hand [i.e. what are you going to do on an A/9 high flop]
Mate to me this comes down to basics of small hand small pot, big hand big pot... bar a miracle flops of 99A, AA9, AAx, 99x, this is not going to be a big hand and therefore I would 99% play it as such (unless I knew my opponent well enough to make a very tight range for their hand)... the reason why I was intent on check calling is to keep the pot as small as possible with full intent of getting rid of it necessary, i truly feel this is 100% a valid way to play the hand and in reality i have no qualms with how the hand unfolded however I have to consider Nade's points and say well that definately makes sense as a better way to play the hand... with a hand like A9o for me these days will 99% have the same plan...:ok

  9. Re: .5c/.10c Cash Hand (10 handed)

The first thing i notice is the two people you're in the hand after the flop with have small stacks. Making the play a standard reraise on the flop to put them both all in IMO because it's just more likely for them to have flush and straight draws then more than 1 pair on that flop. And so more often then not the shortstack will call and lose with their draw. Preflop's OK, you're getting like 5/6:1 to see a flop with an A but it's always best to be cautious OOP. I do think you get most value from putting them AI on the flop, and maybe turn.
Very nice point nade... not much of a NL cash player... really learning the ropes as I go... that is a nice point... Note to self: "When you think your ahead on flop with 2 shorter stacks push for value... flush/ straight draw calling is a good thing" ... thanks...:ok

Completing the bb here Is pretty standard I generally don't rate raises like his for Early pos as strong... actually preflop particularly on the Button or Cutoff I would re-raise here perhaps 50% of the time depending on the player. Cons range here is quite wide however QJs seems about right... I am fairly sure he missed... with the weak bet I am 100%. Ali's check raise is interesting but mostly I figure he has seen the same as me and decides he wants the pot. Ali's call suprises me. the 7 does nothing and while the flush draw is out there with the pot this small I am not phased (I am a fan of check calling a tp like this and representing flush if it happens to hit on river). So it did Ali checking means he didn't have it so I followed through with my plan betting aprox 1/2 the pot... Ali calls and thats it... any thoughts? or different ideas on how to play a situation like this?
