World Cup Qualifying (Europe) 09/10 I dunno Winsome sounds a bit tricky to me. Likewise with Sweden Rick. I want something solid if im odds on and i aint convinced. Israel interests me on first inspection. They drew in France then got a slim win at home v a minnow. Switzerland have won their 2 games but both at home and not v much. I'm away to look. Arent Israel traditionally a good home side? Do they play their games at home still?

St Leger Cheers Rio. I'll ask him if i see him on what basis he fancied it. Was there any pointers to it's form on Saturday past? Could have a look at your Tycoon Rio.
-
Is the St Leger coming up? I don't really touch the horses these days barr the odd tip from here and from pals. Speaking to an old pal i aint seen for a while yesterday who seems to be doing ok with his horses (i gave him Albania and Southend for his footy coupon:) ) He was talking about next weeks big race and had strong feelings about a horse called Percussion or something. Anyone confirm that it is the st Leger next week and that there's a horse of a similar name in the race? Anyone got any fancies themselves?

Tip For Newc 7.25 (Fri) NR - Running 6.20 REDCAR (Sat) You were pissed when you posted that akay weren't you? :lol I aint seen 'my mole' but i think i'll get him a few drinks on PL's behalf. He gives us some good dog tips usually. He's very shrewd too. A bit of a character. His nickname is 'The Dark'. We was the same Norfolk, everyone was on it in my local. Madhouse it was last night.

Tip For Newc 7.25 (Fri) NR - Running 6.20 REDCAR (Sat) Cracker, just what the doctor ordered after i was off to bed with a dose of the Gretna's. Had a tenner on the nose which is a big horse bet for me as the whole industry stinks a bit imo (soz lads:( ) The best bit was the new bird phoned me up as she was coming back from the hospital with her ex and father of her kid. He's a bookie, well the family own a bookies so i told her to tell him what i fancied. He hit her with a barrage of me being another mug etc. I said i wasn't and this is my first bet on the horses this year which was almost true. I thought at the time 'i hope this bastard wins and he can get it right up him'. And as Hawksteel says - it did :) Get it up you bookie bastards and the over paid shite at Gretna. Cheers Hawks :)
-
Tip For Newc 7.25 (Fri) Looks like theyve reverted to their original plan then Aykay. I'll have some of that today :) Here's hoping.
-
Tip For Newc 7.25 (Fri) Bollox :( Maybe it's gonna run tomorrow as originally planned. Dont they have a 2 day declaration rule or something though?
-
Tip For Newc 7.25 (Fri) Yip Aykay and also the booking of Royston French seems significant also (well he used to be ok) The fella that gave the nod seems confident that it will run a big race and he fully expects it to win at a nice price. Anyone know what sort of prices are about for it?
-
Speaking to an old pal who is quite pally with folks at Perrat's stable. Says he got the nod from someone there regarding ZANDEED who was originally entered at Redcar tomorrow but switched to Newcastle tonight. The extra distance should suit after a promising 3rd at Ayr last time. Should be a not bad price. I'll be having some. www.sportinglife.com/raci...index.html

International Friendlies/Qualifiers, 18/08/2004 FromPaul Jain - Mr fixit in the Scottish Daily Record
MR FIXIT : SCOTS ARE GOOD BERT Aug 17 2004 HOME AND AWAY HE'S QUICK ON THE DRAW Bypauljain DON'T go Hungary tomorrow - back Scotland and spend your winnings on a slap-up meal. Berti Vogts' side maybe success-starved on the big stage but two good friendly results on the bounce suggest there are better days around the corner. The Tartan Army weren't over-impressed with June victories against Estonia and Trinidad - but a win's a win and a rare treat for Vogts. Now he's going for the treble and he will be keen to put one over his fellow German Lothar Matthaus. Vogts' squad has been hit by injuries with the likes of Christian Dailly, Steven Caldwell, Jackie McNamara, Kevin Kyle and Paul Dickov all out. But the midfield department is the key for Scotland and with Barry Ferguson back, Darren Fletcher blossoming and Nigel Quashie looking a good addition, we can compete with anything Hungary can offer. Another positive for Scotland is that Matthaus' top striker Imre Szabics of Ferencvaros is out. Matthaus will now look for goals from Crystal Palace new boy Sandors Torghelle, who is 10-1 with Ladbrokes to score first. Vogts could go with James McFadden and Kenny Miller up front but it was Fletcher who opened the scoring last time out and he is generally available at 16-1 to break the deadlock. While the youngster has never scored for Manchester United he has netted twice for his country and is decent value. McFadden has four international strikes to his credit and is 15-2 to bag the opener. Others to consider are Ferguson at 16s and Quashie at 25s. Hungary beat Germany 2-0 before Euro 2004 but we saw how bad Rudi Voller's men were. Matthaus' side finished a lowly fourth in their Euro qualifying group behind Sweden, Latvia and Poland, winning just three games - two against San Marino - and are ranked a lowly 71st in the world. Germany, of course, have a new boss in Jurgen Klinsmann and he needs a result in Austria to convince critics his appointment will be a good one. Klinsmann has made Michael Ballack captain and the combination could be good enough to pick up a win. All the home nations are in action and England are expected to beat Ukraine at St James' Park. Michael Owen is favourite to score first but he could be suffering from the rigours of his move to Real Madrid so look at Smith (5-1) or the mercurial Frank Lampard. Northern Ireland head to Switzerland with an under-strength squad so back the home side to win, even at short odds. -
International Friendlies/Qualifiers, 18/08/2004 Great stuff Kojic. Gonna go have a read :)

133rd British Open Golf I remeber them fellas making money out of hole in ones a few years back Jack. They were getting silly odds from bookies (about 40/1) on there being a hole in one as the bookies were unaware that this happened in most tournements. They cleaned up. Aye it is still light in Scotland at that time Fritz but the sun dont shine too bright. Infact it doesnt really get dark round my way in the summer. Who's playing alongside Els the first 2 days? Isn;t there an ex winner there? I might have a few quid on whoever he is. I read about it but forget.
-
133rd British Open Golf Ps im about 8 miles from the place and its wet and windy at the mo with some outbreaks of sun.
-
133rd British Open Golf I'm looking forward to myself Ian and could have a freebie of a ticket into the practise day tomorrow. Horses for courses is my angle and might do a good amature or summat do do well foirst few days etc.
