  1. Re: WC ROTW Qual + Friendlies - 25/26/27th Mar Hello and welcome to Alteves and Deal. Kiwi your too old to warrant a welcome but great info all in folks and thanks. Dont know if links to sites is totally within the PL boundraries Ecobika but i'll check it out and get back to you. Thanks for the info and no offence. Oh and welcome to PL too. Im like the bloody doorman. A meeter and greeter :( any of these games finished? Noticed there was a few African games this weekend priced up at Hills amongst others. Anyone know anything about darkie football? (you can still say darkie can't you? sounds a bit un pc but i was brought up with 70's telly. I'll remove it if ive lost my grip on reality and it is offensive) Errrr anyhow...i was reading about Mexico being very strong at home and USA never having won in Mexico before. Anyone got any info or links? Thanks

  2. Re: World Cup European Qualifiers Sat 26th Classic Clueless :lol :lol I love the pen on the board and the photographer getting into the glamour totty "come here darlingic" It's 30 years since Bulgaria beat Sweden and i dont think the Garians are too confident, they seem to think its written in stone that Sweden beat them when they play. Well so ive heard.

  3. Re: World Cup European Qualifiers Sat 26th Hello and welcome Pete. I'd read the posts on this thread, read a bit yourself about your fancies, check the team news and then pick what you feel have the best chances taking into account the odds on offer. Then i'd put your money on them, maybe perming 2 from 3, singling them and having a wee treble. Then i'd take the mrs shopping or go to the pub for a few pints (oh its England v N Ireland) Come home have your dinner whilst checking the scores online maybe a few cans. Settle down for the major games or if your lucky enough to live in Scotland watch a famous Scottish draw in Italy (:hope) and shout on your teams. One will let you down but thats ok as you had them permed and your double got you your money back well enough to allow you to go and do it all over again on the sunday games. Oh that reminds me better go look at Mexico v USA on the other thread. good luck whatever you pick Pete :ok

  4. Re: World Cup European Qualifiers Sat 26th Depends on the odds no doubt Pandi. You dont need to know all that Pandi all you need to know is how to pick some winners so who do you fancy? Some good stuff chaps and a great read with my supper. Its got me all excited for Saturday now. Hello and welcome to PL to Petty Cash Bandit and JoroBoro. Good to see you back into your football Jedd and nice one Swooper as i know you did that by hand. No copy and paste job for you. Figaro cant pick his nose usually can he? :lol That Kaza +3 might be ok Jedd. I reckon it will be 1,2,3-0 (as per Poland) Cant see Kaza scoring mind. Could be interested in Sweden too working especially with them suspensions folks mentioned. Could try an x2 on this for some cover.Could x2 double permy sort of thing it with Rep of Ireland who have lost once in 24 games. The ref in the Rep game has reffed 17 internationals and the home side has won 16 of them i just read there :\ I can see Ireland losing mind. Backed Israel a few times at home. Aint impressed me the way i was hoping. I like Wales for Saturday too. strong at home (sometimes) needing the win, some ok forwards, home support. I always think Austrai as a bit of a Scottland type team in the fact that their usually shite. Anyone else fancy the home in this? Austriac missing main striker Kollman. Might go for Holland too. Nah need to see the team news first. Theyre like the international version of Morton for me though and i just cant catch them:( Estonia will be missing their best player goalkeeper errrm thingyjugg and their main defender whatshisface. Slovakia missing their top scorer (5 goals) also but everything looks good for the away on this one. Another poss x2 for me.

  5. Re: WC ROTW Qual + Friendlies - 25/26/27th Mar Aye come on Matt. Is that the beer or you talking? ;) Why you lose all your money on bloivia Komp? as Matt's beer told me too. Wasnt there a wee bit of form in the S Korea/Japan group after the last games? I was like some on the Japan/S Korean double and we scrapped home. think Beanie might have thought there was something in it :unsure I'll have a look later.

  7. Re: Eurovision Song Contest 21st May 2005 Aye there has that Ian. Pain and joy in every one. 1st one for me i took Britain in various bets and couldnt lose if the finished top 6 which they had a chance of and finished joint 6th but placed 7th as the other country had more 12pts than them.Lost a couple of hundred on that. Same year i had Denmark (i think) a tenner eachway at 12/1 as a saver and they finished 2nd on the last vote.tomy annoyance i had accidently backed them to win with double my stake. If theyd won id have shown profit still. Year after that was the Turkey winner for us all. I was on various bets on them from 25/1 downwards and again it went to the last vote. I had actually thought the 3rd last vote was the 2nd last vote and thought i wass dead and buried and went off wearily to the loo. My wee nephew shouted KOMP KOMP theres another vote and i threw myself on the floor infront of the telly. The leaders got 4 and wee needed 8 or more and we got the 12 but could have still got none. I jusmped for joy. It was a great night. Brilliant makes me feel good just thinking about it. Last year my Malta finished 5th i think when iwas on them ew.again i got a run for my money but i still got a run for my money. aye been some corking PL Euro threads Ian. I'll get all the songs up when im back on broadband in a couple of weeks.

  8. EDIT:Listen to the songs here- http://www.eurovision.tv/english/77.htm Well its that time of year again where grown men are considered a bit poofy as they like a beer and a bet and a night of xenophobia end of May. I like to get in a bit early and download all the songs and take them about the town playing them to people to gauge their reactions and start looking at the political aspects of it all etc. good place to start is here- http://www.esctoday.com/annual/2005/participants.php Odds should be about soon

  9. Re: World Cup Qualifying 9 02 Sorry Daik missed your no bet bit at the bottom. I was already on after looking at the fixture in the Racing Post. Wasnt that impressed with N Koreas form , Got me a bit worried now though. /Im away for a look at it just for peace of mind http://news.ft.com/cms/s/17018a0c-79c5-11d9-ba2a-00000e2511c8.html :\ This doesnt read too good about the south korean's :(

Korea traditionally also have an indifferent record against Arabs sides, particularly Kuwait. The Middle Eastern side have won six of their eleven meetings with the Koreans, losing only four. However, Mohammed Ibrahim’s side are a young bunch, and it will be considered their second major upset of qualifying - after they eliminated China PR in the last round - if they manage to finish above either Korea or Saudi Arabia.
but their a younger team now and Kuwait manager says this-
Group seeds Korea Republic have become something of a rival for us, and we lost to them 4-0 at this year’s Asian Cup.
