  1. My treble was no good last night. Quarter finals this afternoon, and I’m keeping stakes low on another treble. Clemens win, Heta win & Humphries -1.5 180 hcap which pays 3.7 at Bet365.
  2. Good luck with those Searle bets chaps. Looks a tricky night, but I’m going with a Wade win, Zonneveld +2.5 legs & Bunting -2.5 leg treble tonight, pays 5.3 with Bet365.
  3. Yeah cheers - the outrights have been atrocious, but the treble comes in with a bit to spare.
  4. Well done yesterday fellas. I’m going for a Vandenbogaerde, Wade & Zonneveld +2.5 legs treble this afternoon, pays 4.2 at Bet365.
  5. Fantastic spot that - I wonder if they’ll do the same for this evening? 😁
  6. Nice one - was that just in the ITV4 games, or across both boards?
  7. I’ve not had much time to look at the Players Championship Finals but have had a few small speculative bets. As with the Grand Slam I think Price and Humphries are the most likely winners of the event, but their odds aren’t particularly appealing, especially with the shortened format in the first couple of rounds. The pair are on opposite sides of the draw, so did consider a Price v Humphries final, but the odds of around 8/1 didn’t entice me in. Instead I’ve gone for a few outrights (each way) at bigger prices, with the hope that one can make a big run. One from each quarter of the draw, with two from the bottom quarter, which as @ThunderDan9 pointed out seems the weakest section. Ross Smith 66/1 Chris Dobey 40/1 Jim Williams 250/1 Jules van Dongen 200/1 Joe Cullen 40/1
  8. My quarter final bet was let down by Bunting 180s. Onto the semis this afternoon, and based on current and season form, the two favourites Humphries and Cross should progress to meet in tonight’s final. I actually quite like the two Skybet boosts they have put up: Humphries to win, hit 10+ 180s and checkout 128+ @ 4/1 Cross to win, hit 7+ 180s and checkout 127+ @ 11/4 Having the two singles and a double that pays just shy of 18/1.
  9. It seems easier to find a 150/1 winner in the Players Championships than a 4/1 winner in the Grand Slam !!! Nevertheless, I’m going with a 4-fold across the quarter finals. I think Wade has a chance tonight, Rock played well in the last round, but Ratajski’s doubling was dreadful, if Wade gets the same opportunities he should make Rock pay. It’s difficult to oppose Luke Humphries at the moment, he’s scoring so well and whilst Anderson should put up a fight I can’t see Humphries losing at the moment. Tomorrow night I think Bunting beats Buntz with a bit to spare, but I prefer the 180 angle - Buntz has only hit 3 in 38 legs of darts this tournament, and even started on the 19’s a few times in his last match, Bunting’s a decent 180 hitter so I’m taking him to overcome the 180 handicap. Finally, I was pretty impressed with Rob Cross last night, whilst Heta beat a well below-par van Gerwen, I think Cross comes into this one playing the better darts. Rock -1.5 180 hcap, Humphries to win, Bunting -4.5 180 hcap & Cross to win. Fourfold pays just over 11/2 with Bet365.
  10. I’m struggling to find much I like tonight - William Hill are offering ‘over 1 checkout over 99 in each match in the session’ at 4/1 which sounds possible in what should be some close contests. I’ve just done the same bet as an Acca on Bet365 and it comes out at 9/2, so that will do for me.
  11. Good luck mate - should be a decent night of darts.
  12. Aspinall let my treble down last night, but I’m going with another one tonight as the last 16 action gets underway. Josh Rock is being touted as a potential winner of this event, but I’m yet to be convinced as he really hasn’t been tested yet. The players he has beaten have averaged 86, 83 and 85 against him and I think Ratajski will give him a much tougher game than he’s had so far in this tournament. I’m finding it hard to pick a winner in the Dobey v Wade match. We haven’t seen the best of Dobey in this tournament yet, I’m expecting him to improve over this longer format, and taking him to score at least 5 180s. Luke Humphries has registered three ton-plus averages so far, and I don’t see his level dropping too far in this match. He’s a prolific 180 hitter, so I’m adding Humphries to win and hit the most 180s to my treble. As for Price v Anderson - I’m just going to sit back and enjoy the fireworks 😁 Ratajski +2.5 legs, Dobey 4.5+ 180s & Humphries win and most 180s pays 4.23 at Bet365.
  13. Yep - absolutely woeful. Pietreczko wasn’t even trying, and still beat him.
  14. For me the Heta v Greaves match revolves around how well the Australian handles the crowd; does he handle it really well like Aspinall, or does he handle it really badly like Pietreczko. In reality it will probably be somewhere between the two, but I do think Greaves will make a good fist of it and I’ll take her on the handicap. I’m also going to take Bunting to beat Wright - the Bullet has been more consistent so far, and I think Wright said he wasn’t too bothered about getting knocked out as that would give him more time to prepare for the Worlds. I don’t like betting on the dead rubbers either, but on a night where little appeals I think I’ll add in Aspinall to beat Pietreczko. The German took on the Wolverhampton crowd on Sunday … and lost. He may well get similar treatment tonight, leaving Aspinall to take advantage. Treble on Aspinall win, Bunting win and Greaves +2.5 pays just under 4/1 with Bet365.
  15. Frustratingly, Humphries missed two darts to win 5-0 - but at least the 7/2 shot came in.
  16. I’m on Ratajski -1.5, Humphries -1.5 and Dobey to win tonight, the treble pays just over 7/2. Van Duijvenbode’s shoulder injury is clearly still an issue, so tempted to back Humphries to win 5-0 tonight, priced at 10/1 with Bet365.
  17. I’m off to the darts today - so probably won’t remember if these win or lose, but here’s what I’m going for: Afternoon session Pietreczko +1.5 legs, Dobey to win & Greaves +3.5 legs which pays just under 7/2 Evening session Cross, Humphries and Anderson all to win and hit the most 180s which pays just over 8/1 As Fader said van Duijvenbode is really struggling at the moment, I think he had a shoulder injury the last time we saw him. If he still has that injury I can can see him having a real tough time against Anderson, so backing Gary -3.5 on the handicap at 9/2 as well. Good luck all.
  18. The two players I see as the most likely winners of the Grand Slam are in the same quarter, and that’s Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price. And I’m favouring the Welshman, mainly because of his record in Wolverhampton - Price has won the Grand Slam in three of the last five years. He warmed up for this event with a win in the penultimate Players Championship event of the year where he averaged just short of 99 across his seven matches. Price is available at 17/4 with SpreadEx, I’m not sure that’s value to be honest, but he’s in good form and has a terrific record at the Grand Slam so I’m going to have a dabble. In the bottom half of the draw I was looking for someone at slightly bigger odds who could make an impression, I was tempted with Wright, Bunting and Noppert, but like Fader, have plumped for Dave Chisnall (22/1 PaddyPower/Betfair). Chisnall also comes here in good floor form having reached the final of the last two Players Championship events, winning the last of those. He also has some stage form to back that up, having won on the Euro Tour at the end of September. I’ve lost count the number of times I’ve backed Chisnall for a major due to his form coming into the event, only for him to be dispatched early … maybe this is the time Chizzy pays me back.
  19. Yep, shame he couldn’t win the final, but we’ll take a 100/1 winner to finish off the Players Championship season.
  20. Tell me about it - 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th seeds, hoping for a different story today. Call me stubborn, but I’m with Bunting again at 40/1, and adding Pietreczko at 66/1. Outsiders are Jim Williams (200/1), Veenstra (200/1) and Vandenbogaerde (500/1).
  21. Good luck today @Fader Yeah, Van Veen isn’t much bigger than that to win the World’s 😳 One more from me, a player I’ve backed a lot recently, Stephen Bunting at 50/1.
  22. Couple of early thoughts on Players Championship 29 that starts tomorrow. Bet365 are only paying 2 places but have seemingly been a bit generous with some of the prices. There are several players at 500/1 that are usually a bit shorter than that, so I’m taking Crabtree, Hempel, Kuivenhoven and Killington for small stakes. They had Jim Williams at 250/1 last night as well, but he’s been shortened to 175/1 now.
  23. Not much appealing to me today, but for a bit of interest I’m going with Price -1.5 hcap, Wade -1.5 hcap & Humphries -2.5 hcap, the treble pays just over 4/1.
  24. Yep, no returns for me tonight, and Ross Smith lost in the outrights. Not seen the odds yet, but Pietreczko must have a decent chance against MvG if he plays like that, and the German crowd behave like that.
  25. Agree with what you guys have gone for tonight. That Price Boost at Skybet looked good to me as well at 5/1, so have had a bit on that. Also gone for Cullen to win and most 180s, van Gerwen -2.5 hcap & Humphries -1.5 hcap treble, pays just under 7/2.
