  1. Re: Australian Rules Football AFL - Round 2 (Thu 5 Apr - Mon 9 Apr)

Sydney have won 5 of the last 7 by 40' date=' 32, 64, 114 and 48 last year. :ok[/quote'] I should have been more clearer Taza as i was thinking about the overall match up. Thanks for pointing that out :) Still it was a see saw time of game with the Swans always doing enough to suggest that they would win but Richmond kept it close. :D
  2. Highlanders under 42.5 This should be a good old fashioned battle of the forwards between the two sides who have a healthy rivalry in New Zealand. Last weeks game for both sides was characterised by some very rugged and aggressive defence and you would think they would continue with this theme. Can't see a blowout here and it is too tough to call a winner but it should be a very grinding affair

  3. Re: Australian Rules Football AFL - Round 2 (Thu 5 Apr - Mon 9 Apr) Sydney win 1-39 This should be a very close game between these sides. Richmond has a weakness in the ruck and expect Spider Everett to have a big game and dominate for the Swans. The Swans showed that they have maintained their good form from last year with a 1 point loss to the same team who beat them in the grand final last year. I think there will be little in it as the Tigers have a good record against the Swans but the Sydneysiders have the class to edge this

  4. Re: NRL Round 4: April 6-9 Melbourne win by margin of 13+ @ 2.80 (Centrebet) Two teams with differing form come into this game. Newcastle got belted by Canberra last week while one of the competition favourites outclassed the Warriors. Late news is that ther Newcastle playmaker (Johns) is out and that could be it for his career. Newcastle lacked direction last week and will be even more disorganised even with Buderus back. The Storm woke up last week after not really impressing the first couple of games. Both teams have huge packs of forwars but the Storm are very classy in the backline. They should win this well Note: got this price last night when rumours of Johns' injury were coming out. This market is now suspended and will more than likely be a big difference in the final price offered.

  5. Re: UEFA Cup quarters Thu 5/4 Bayer Leverkusen win Leverkusen come into this game with alot of confidence after winning 4 of their 5 home games in this comeptition and also with their recent performances in the Bundesliga. They are playing extremely well from the defence to their strikers and will be looking to go to Spain in the return leg with a lead, especially against a side that has quite a few of its leading players out injured. With the very good form of Schnieder and Barbarez leading the way, Leverkusen should win this one Sevilla over 2.5 Both teams are playing well and especially love to attack. Both sides have scored quite few goals in this competition (Kanoute, Chevanton for Sevilla and Berbatove and Keane foe Spurs) while looking quite shaky at the back. Both teams are two of the better sides left in this cup so they would consider themselves unlucky to be drawn together and would be confident of going on to win it if they get past this round. So i would expect both teams to go for it to build up an advantage over the other as they head into the second leg.

  6. Re: CL quarters first leg - Tue 3/4 - Wed 4/4 Liverpool win Liverpool come into this game very confident after knocking over Barcelona. After the very good win against Arsenal at the weekend they will be looking to repeat the win they had over PSV in the group games. Big losses for PSV in Alex (defence) and Kone (striker). With a fully fit squad to choose from and playing with confidence, it looks a likely Liverpool victory.

  7. Re: NRL Round 3: March 30 - April 2

For excitements purposes I am goin to take the Knights 13+ tonite. To be honest I was leaning towards the Raiders but after going through both sides I just can't see any advantage to the Raiders in any positions and in the Forwards the Knights look far stronger than the Raiders,so thats why i'm leaning that way,Good Luck to all whichever way you all go.
Agree with you here Jumbo. When you look at the Raiders forward pack it doesn't have much at all. The Knights on the other hand are very physical and now that Johns is back in the lineup, you would expect the forawrds to lay the platform for Johns to cause havoc. Can't see anything but a comfortable Knights victory by 13+
  8. Re: NRL Round 3: March 30 - April 2 Bulldogs win by 1-12 margin Bulldogs have lost their last 2 games and it is pretty uncharacteristic start to the season for them. They are still trying to get their rhythm going and will be up against the competiton new boys who won last week. They have a huge size advantage over the Titans forwards and this should be enough for the Bulldogs to come out in top of a hard fought game Manly win by 13+ margin

Manly are on a good roll and should account for a young and inconsistent Roosters side. Manly has a significant edge in the forwards, and they will use this to set it up for their speedy backs. Manly will be too strong and too quick for them and should win by plenty
  9. Re: NRL Round 2: March 23-26 St George win by 13+ margin Great result by the Dragons last week to beat the new team especially with all the hype surrounding them. Now they head home to face the Knights without their two main leaders in Johns and Buderus. The Knights have a very poor win record if Johns doesn't play and as they have lost their last 5 of 6 games to the Dragons, this game looks bleak to them. The Dragons should win this comfortably. Bulldogs win by 13+ margin Huge perfortmance by the Dogs to play for most of the game with 1 less player and then only to lose by 1 point in the end. On the other hand, Penrith were very ordinary and lacked direction in their loss last week. You would expect that one of the competition favourites would be looking to chalk a win here and you would expect an easy one with the calibre of players in their line upmodify_inline.gif

  10. Re: Rugby League: NRL Round 1 (Mar 16-Mar 19) + Season Discussion Melbourne -13.5 @ 2.10 (Centrebet) Melbourne have won all 6 games against Wests at home and have no problems scoring at least 30 points against them. Last year they won 46-4 against them, and a similar scoreline looks likely with the talent the Melbourne side have in their backline. Wests haven't strengthened much from last year so it doesn't seem like much will change from last year's result.

  11. Re: Rugby Union Super 14 Week 6 Highlanders win by 13+ margin @ 2.40 (centrebet) After a slow start to the season the Highlanders have played pretty well recently. The return of Evans last week saw them be very competitve with the Blues and only fell away towards the end. The Reds on the other hand are struggling and with an ever increasing injury toll, they will struggle to match the enthusiasm of the Highlanders, who should record a comfortable victory. I expect to see a big game from the captain Blackie who plays his 50th game against the Reds

  12. Re: CL matches - return leg - 6-7/3 Chelsea under 2.5 @ 1.68 (Centrebet) Chelsea have the advantage after drawing away from home in the first leg. Stamford Bridge is a difficult place these days for visiting teams and i doubt that Porto will get a goal here. Chelsea are the type of team that once they score 1 they will likely "shut up shop" and thus restrict the opposition even further. Mourinho will want a win here over his old team. Under is better odds than the home win. Liverpool under 2.5 @ 1.83 (Centrebet) Much has been about the expected backlash from Barcelona and the expectation that Barcelona will get the necessary two goals to win on aggregate. I doubt they will get the two goals. Liverpool is a very difficult place to score for away teams with the Kop in full voice, and i expect Benitez to use his knowledge of Barcelona once again to win the tactical battle over Rijkaard. I expect Liverpool to play 4-5-1 with Bellamy / Kuyt up front to play a nuisance role of chasing down Barca's defenders. Liverpool will stack the midfield to prevent Barca's playmakers getting any rhythm. I wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool win this one but i doubt more than 2 goals will be scored given Liverpool aim not to concede. Lyon win @ 1.87 (Centrebet) Lyon are in the box seat after their away draw and are starting to recapture their great form from earlier in the season. While both teams have great weapons in attack i think Lyon has the edge, and with them playing at home, this should be enough to see them sneak in. Valencia win @ 2.50 (Centrebet) Valencia's Mestalla stadium is an intimidating place and one that Inter will find it very hard to get a result from. The Spaniards showed their class in Italy and now back on home turf, in front of their home crowd, should go on to win this game. The addition of Baraja and Vincente is good news for Valencia's midfield to get the upper hand of Inter's.

  13. Re: Super 14 Rugby Union Week 5 Hurricanes -14.5 @ 2.10 (Centrebet) The Hurricanes when in form are very hard to beat and last week we saw by how unpredictable they can be with an away loss to the Reds. They should be pretty fired up to make amends against a poor Stormers side that looks very disjointed. The Hurricanes have some explosive backs which should be too quick and strong for their opponents. This could be a massacre if the Hurricanes play the way they can, especially at home.

  14. Re: Super 14 Rugby Union Week 5 Waratahs -6.5 @ 2.10 (Centrebet) The Waratahs return home from South Africe from their South African trip and expect them to make a huge impression at home against these western upstarts. The Waratahs have been getting a flogging in the press here and are particularly upset about some of the "poaching" of some of their players by the Force. So we have quite a bit of niggle pre-game and expect even more during the game. The Waratahs need this win to climb back up the ladder and have the talent and the experience to do so. They will want to ensure that the 6 "defectors" have nothing to smile about after the game. Should be a close game before the Waratahs seal it with a late try

  15. Re: Super 14 Rugby Union Week 5 Blues -13.5 @ 2.10 (Centrebet) The Blues have been playing great rugby and deserve to be on top of the ladder. With Flavell in the forwards leading the charge, and a very quick and explosive backline, it is no wonder they have been winning their games quite well. They will be up against a Highlanders side that are struggling to score. Even though scored quite a few tries last week, it was against a pretty poor Stormers side. They will get no favours from the Blues, and especially will need to improve their very leaky defence that have been conceding quite a few points. The Blues should win this one comfortably

  16. Re: Rugby Union Super 14 Week 4 Blues -13.5 @ 2.10 (Centrebet) There has been much to like about the way the Blues are playing. They have been very impressive in their games and even though the Reds are playing better than last year, the Blues have both the advantage in the forwards and the backs to win this by 2 converted tries. It is intersting to note that the Blues have beaten the Crusaders (34-25) at home and the Brumbies away (17-15) while the Reds lost to the Crusaders away (22-33) and the Brumbies at home (3-6). The injury to hooker Moore and the suspension of Johansson for the Reds makes this even more likely of a comfortable Blues victory

  17. Re: Rugby Union Super 14 Week 4 Highlanders 1-12 margin @ 2.80 (Centrebet) The Stormers have never won at Carisbrook and and doesn't look likely here either. There is the ongoing saga with the position of the coach and reports are this could be his last game. They have been unconvinving of late with their play and even though the Highlanders haven't been much better, they will be glad to be at home after playing their first 3 games away. I like the Highlanders to win this but it won't be by a big margin

  18. Re: Champions League 20/21.02.2006 Barcelona over 2.5 @ 2.15 (Centrebet) Barcelona will start warm favourites for this game but there are doubts about them. While they have the class to win this game i think that Liverpool will do enough to get a goal or two. Barcelona should come out strong like they did in that must win game against Bremen, where they led 2-0 early on. However, as i think this may happen again the difference here is that Liverpool will go all out to get at least a goal back to set up a victory at home. They know they can't afford to leave Spain with a 2 goal deficit so they will attack and then they will score or leave holes open for a third Barca goal Inter Milan over 2.5 @ 2.25 (Centrebet) Both teams play a similar style of football and especially because of the strikers like Ibrahimovic and Villa on display, goals are likely. Even though both teams have good defences what makes them even better is the abiltiy of the repective midfields to make many chances for their strikers. So with this in mind, then these strikers should able to score Chelsea win @ 2.25 (Centrebet) While Porto have been solid at home a much stronger Chelsea side deserve to be favourites to win this game. Look for Terry to marshall the defence to lay the platform for Lampard and Robben in midfield to pry open the Porto defence for the likes of Drogba to put these chances away Roma over 2.5 @ 2.35 (centrebet) Both teams like to play attacking football so expect to see plenty of chances and hence goals. Roma will look to get at least a 1 goal cushing before they go to france while Lyon only know one way to play so they will continue to pound the roma goal.
