ffs mate, I don't think anyone believes Scotland are going to win the world cup, merely enjoying a brief, long awaited moment of positivity, talk about pissing on the parade, maybe you should stop worrying about what  motherwell players are doing next summer, and go for a nice relaxing bath.

    1.00 Newton Abbot - 2pts win Eye of an Eagle @ 9/2 Bet365
Favourite has solid credentials but saddles a penalty here and I thought Eye of an Eagle might be able to take advantage. Probably should have won at Fontwell last time when getting lonely and hanging towards the stands up the run in but was also entitled to need the run and should enjoy the return to a less testing track today. The form of the race it ran in two starts back was pretty strong and again only faded late on after a lengthy absence beforehand. Gets to run here off the back of a recent run and looks capable of getting off the mark.
    1.10 Catterick - 1pt win Party Rebel @ 6/1 Bet365
Favourite has form in the book but looks beatable and on pedigree I like the chances of Mark Johnston's Party Rebel. This one's dam was a smart 2 year old and Party Rebel is a full sister to Rebel Assault who has proved very talented and won on its debut at Catterick by 8 lengths. Lots of evidence to suggest she'll be good to go first time out and hopefully will go the same way as her sister today!
    1.40 Catterick - 1pt win Jill Rose @ 6/1 Bet365
Was beaten 6 lengths last time but never could get involved from a midfield sit and this one would have a big chance on its narrow defeat at Thirsk earlier in the season. Runs off the same mark here and her only career win came when dominating from the front on soft ground over 6 furlongs. Her best form has come when racing handily which she couldn't do last time and I'm hoping she's given a positive ride here and can pour it on from the front under testing conditions.
    2.25 Goodwood - 1pt e/w Torbellino @ 9/1 Bet365
This is an easier race for Torbellino who couldn't quite see it out having raced freely on the all-weather last time. Wasn't beaten far thought and this trip and track should suit on a return to turf. Was never going here when last tried but has novice form on turf so hopefully it won't inconvenience and I can see this one racing handily around here and kicking on up the straight. Don't think he'll come back as readily today against some poor rivals and hopefully can find enough to keep rolling.
    3.15 Newton Abbot - 1pt win Midnight Midge @ 11/2 PP
Has run well in two novice chases this season despite having a limited chance at the weights and this should represent calmer waters now going handicapping off a mark of 120. Should enjoy going around here from a handy position and has a much better chance of holding off the competition on this occasion in easier company. Decent enough mark based on good hurdles form last year under similar conditions so hopefully can get off the mark over fences today.
    3.50 Newton Abbot - 1pt e/w Bluebell Sally @ 16/1 Bet365
Only a modest race and this mare is nothing to write home about either but has shaped better since going chasing this season, running a solid 3rd behind an in-form horse two starts back on seasonal reappearance and then fell when in with a shout over 3 miles last time. She's a full sister to a 3 mile chaser so is relatively unexposed since tackling fences and longer trips so if she can put it all together today could look a big price at the finish.
    4.40 Goodwood - 1pt win Smart Champion @ 7/1 Bet365
Have to back this one again at such a big price. Been easy in the market but Stag Horn needs to improve again despite hacking up at Catterick - the ground made life tricky for horses on that occasion and there were a lot of big winning distances. Smart Champion has been running in the big staying handicaps very well but will need to be tactically ridden here given he stays 2m4f strongly so I don't want him to be messing around off a slow pace. Hopefully he's alive to the threat and can utilise that extra stamina late on.
