Re: PokerPlayer Magazine Tour 2012 - next leg Coventry (Aug 11th/12th) Great reports guys. And really good to see so PL supporting the event, in what was I agree a bit of a disappointing turnout. I firmly expect Leeds and London to be back well over 100 runners. It was just a bit of a freak weekend, with so few runners coming from the host casino unlike normal. The Olympics really didn't help. Next time there is an Olympics in the UK we won't run a tournament the same weekend! I think Black Belt suffered worse than us. Really enjoyed chatting to Bart. An absolutely top bloke and an asset to PL. Enjoyed pure bubbling in 10th a bit less. I played a couple of hands really badly so I can't blame anything or anyone else but myself. Final hand was pretty boring, three-betting pocket fives from the BB and running into Aces. Hope to see some more of you in Leeds. They really are cracking tournaments, and if a total fish like me can nearly make the final twice anyone can.

Re: win a WSOPE package with WilliamHill and PokerPlayerMag - 13/08/12 8pm $5.50 buy
Yeah we didn't want to have to cancel it. Hopefully it can all be sorted out in the morning, if it doesn't run as planned tonight. Someone from the office did speak with them earlier today and they said it would be an added prize.Yep looks like to me that WH have set up the tournament wrong, firstly it should have a package added of €1800 value =/ $1800, and as its added there should be other prizes Still worth a go, but look out before 8 in case they cancel and republish the tournament. -
Re: PokerPlayer Magazine Tour 2012 - next leg Brighton
Obviously threw the heads-up for the sake of the magazine. Nobody wants to read an interview with the editor. Just kidding. We did a deal heads-up and then played on for the seat. Safe to say I didn't play particularly well, think my heart wasn't in it once the money was locked up and to be honest I was really happy for the bloke that won. Nice guy and will be a fantastic experience for him in the GUKPT. Grosvenor put on another absolutely top class event. These really are fantastic tournaments for the money, and hope to see more of you at the next one. I might even buy some drinks ;)PokerPlayer @PokerPlayerUK Simon Griffin takes it down! After chipping away at Alun, he seals the deal with AK against Bowden's 10s #PPUKTOUR * * * * * wp Alun & indeed everyone, gg -
Re: PokerPlayer Magazine Tour 2012 - next leg Brighton
Yep there are another set of GTD qualifiers in the next issue, and Grosvenor will be running weeklies too. You can buy in directly on the client shortly I believe. Are their any more online qualifiers or can you buy in direct? -
Re: Lock Poker Sign Annette Obrestad
I'm sure that's true. 'What are the profits this month? Fcuk the profits! What is the player experience like?' Yeah I'm sure that's how the meetings go. That said Lock does sometimes seem like it's being run by Brewster.RANT ALERT ......... RANT ALERT "Lock is the new generation of online poker where player experience drives the company" I fcuking hate this marketing speak shite. :puke RANT OVER -
Re: PokerPlayer Magazine Tour is coming back for 2012
I was at the table with you lads and I thought Pete had a monster too, so WP mate. Was a really good hand. Reminded me of this oneHe was a serial raiser, but I also thought he was a decent player at the same time and could fold a good hand. Plus we were both chipped up and must have been effective stacks of about 65x BBs at 400/800. We'll never know what he folded, but at the time I reckoned to myself that I could get him to fold definitely JJ, and probably QQ, given my betting clearly showed I had a monster ;) What did you think I had when it was going on? Structure was excellent, a little too good perhaps, some were saying, but I thought it was just right for the number of players. 1am finish on Day 1 isn't too late really? Definitely well worth playing this year, going to see if I can get to the Leeds one later in the year :hope;) He didn't make the money in the end, and I honestly think he was just getting a lot of cards. I tried three-betting him in what seemed a good spot and he jammed on me and looked so happy with it I folded when I planned to snap him off. He said he had AK when I told him I would have snapped off with AQ and I am 100% he was telling the truth. Really glad to hear all is OK with the family Morls. Was gutted for you mate, so glad it's all turned out OK. Hope to see you in Leeds at least it not Brighton. I agree on the structure. Absolutely superb, with a ton of play in it. I was never really in shove or fold mode until about 10 levels in. Still managed to dust off my stack well before the money. Standard. Had a good craic with chromhead on the rail and good to meet some of the other PL lads. Here's to seeing a few of you in Brighton. -
Re: PokerPlayer Magazine Tour is coming back for 2012 How many PLers are coming to this? I will be the one who looks like me so please come up and say hello.

Re: PokerPlayer Magazine Tour is coming back for 2012
Grosvenor only have casinos in Dundee and Aberdeen and we both felt Newcastle was a better option for the North/Scotland. With only 5 legs we can't please everyone, but hope there is a decent spread of venues. Why no Scotland leg this time? -
Re: PokerPlayer Magazine Tour is coming back for 2012 I think it will be this one http://www.grosvenorukpokertour.com/en/Events/Blind-Structure/

Re: PokerPlayer Magazine Tour is coming back for 2012
Those are all good points and it is something we considered. To be honest with some events finishing at 4am last year it was effectively a 2-day event anyway. This gives everyone a bit more time and a bit more play at the business end. We are looking so that only in the money players will return on day 2. So if money is a concern you could drive up and ask the casino to sort you out a travelodge or something for the night if you make it to day 2. And this way you get a chance to have a few beers at the end of the day too. But more importantly we wanted to make the events a bit more of an occasion. There should be plenty to keep you entertained even after you get knocked out with a dealer-dealt (£25 + £10 rebuy) event set to start around 7pm on the Saturday and cash games running. There will also be a self-dealt tourney on the Sunday. Grosvenor are really pulling out the stops for these and hopefully people will see this as a fun poker weekend rather than just a £100 tourney. There is a GUKPT seat added and the structure really is going to be great. Hope to see you there. Thanks for the welcome. It is of course a nice series for the low-rollers and that... I played in it last year... I wonder about making it into two-day events though (also, the APAT). With costs of staying overnight, and travel etc, that's quite the chunk of cash as a percentage of the total outlay, compared to one's buy-in, for instance... Gonna have to be quite the player to overcome such odds. Still, if you cheap it in via a satellite, who cares, I guess! Also not a prob if you live locally, so it will still be well attended, no doubt. -
Re: PokerPlayer Magazine Tour is coming back for 2012
I see the 3 satellites that are listed in the mag are up' date=' but does anyone know if they are doing weekly qualifiers as they did last year on Gala? If you could answer this Alun that would be great.[/quote'] I don't know if they will be weekly, but as far as I'm aware Grosvenor Poker will be running their own qualifiers too. As will the relevant casino. PokerPlayer ones will be the ones with the most value though obv ;) -
Re: Poker Player Mag UK Tour 2012 Pretty sure they will only be on grosvenor poker. I will double check though.

Re: Poker Player Mag UK Tour 2012 These look like being absolutely cracking events and Grosvenor are really pulling out the stops. The structures are going to be mint, there are GUKPT seats added and there will be side events running from around 7/8pm on the Saturday. It's basically a GUKPT main event for £100. I can't wait.

Good to see you guys are still supporting the tour. I haven't made it down to any this year, but am surprised they stopped at 10pm. I very much doubt that will be the case for the grand final in London. Hoping to make that one, but the diary is against me.
