Hello chaps, me again ... This blog will contrain all my selections for the 2014 flat season and will be mainly 5f and 6f sprints - the type of races that I really enjoy looking at and 'seem' to do well at. I will keep a P/L in this first post reguarly. Ta! :ok

Re: Peacock's 2014 Flat Season Sat 29th Mar 2014 1.30 Doncaster (18 runners) William Hill Download The App Brocklesby Conditions Stakes (BOBIS Race) Class 4, 5f , Soft, 2yo, Win: £6469 Hannon’s runners are 3/6 in March in 5 and 6f sprints and Flyball therefore makes obvious appeal and is worth a small interest bet. FLYBALL 0.5pt WIN @ 5/1 (BetVictor BOG) Sat 29th Mar 2014 2.40 Doncaster (10 runners) William Hill – Bet On The Move Cammidge Trophy (Listed) Listed Race, 6f , Soft, 3yo+, Win: £20983 The flat is back! I will be trying to ‘specialise’ with 5 and 6f flat sprints this summer and this is the first opportunity of the season … The last 17 renewals of this race have all been won by horses aged 3 – 7, which means CAPTAIN RAMIUS, INXILE and JIMMY STYLES look up against it. JACK DEXTER has tons in his favour; he loves the ground, goes well fresh, won this last year, gets on with Jockey and sure to give good account. However, the last 14 winners of this have all carried 9-5 or less which suggests he could be up against it – he’s certainly at pretty skinny odds at the moment and can throw in the odd stinker so is swerved. Just. Discounting others crying 9-6 or more, of the 5 remaining hopefuls, MASS RALLY is 0/10 at Doncaster and 0/8 on soft and there are similar reservations about ES QUE LOVE, who despite being a very good early season horse, is 0/21 in races worth £21lk+ and is unproven on the ground. The same ground concerns apply to DINKUM DIAMOND who’s all 4 wins have come on Good to Firm. HEAVENS GUEST, who was 7/14 in a Group 2 when last seen but has been progressing well before that, needs to improve again to take this but could do so. TROPICS is untested on soft but won on GS twice, he could need the run though as all wins have been from breaks of 30 days or less. This leaves MAUREEN, who receives weight all round, goes well fresh and the Hannon team is 3/6 with sprinters in March at Doncaster. She drops back to 6f for the first time since late 2012 though and has been running on over these longer trips but despite this, has performed admirably at 6f in the past and is taken to land the spoils and get the blog off to a good start.
