Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February Ajax - Manchester United Its fine to see this odds now. This odds are early around 2.15, but now Sir Alex has confirmed that he will play with the big players. Ajax is dramatic the last weeks. They are missing a lot of players and playing not good after the winterbreak. Okay, they won last Saturday in Breda against NAC Breda. But NAC Breda was poor at home. I think Ajax will start with Vermeer on the goal and he had make a lot of mistakes the last months. Only the central defending with Alderweireld and Vertonghen looks good in this team and maybe Sulejmani (attacker) can make some problems voor the United defense. But I think, United can clear it in Amsterdam. United playing good last match against Liverpool. With Rooney and Wellbeck they have two players who can make some goals against this terrible Ajax. I think Ajax can’t handle the speed and the smart moves from this two players. I don’t see Ajax to score a goal against this united, who are staying good in the defense. 5/10 Manchester United tb. Ajax @ 1.95 Interwetten

Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February braga vs besiktas look like easy money , the portugese team is on fire right now with 9 wins in a row , last time they didn't won was in bruges (1-1) and also they are last year's finalists eliminating teams like liverpool , benfica , psv and dinamo kiev besiktas is weaker than the teams listet above , they are very inconsistent loosing alot of points in the turkish championship , I saw their last matches and I cannot see them score in portugal against such a good defense only braga to score at 2.62 @ bet365 braga to not conceive at 2.25 @ bet365 braga (-1.5 AH) at 2.85 @ bet365

braga vs besiktas look like easy money

Braga match is not easy money for me. There is no easy money this year in Europa leage. Queresma, Manuel Fernandes and Hugo Almeida are together in the team again. I think both to score is more logical bet. Both to score @ 1,90 4/10

Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February Braga - Besiktas over 2.5 @ 2.07 pinnacle Braga in excellent form where they have won 8 of their last 9 games in all competitions, and they have been scoring goals, scoring at least twice in 8 of these game. However they have allowed goals in 6 of these games, so their defence has given up goals, and with Besiktas having scored in 5 of their last 8 games, then good chance they do so here too. However their own defence has also been less than satisfactory, as they have given up goals in each of their last 8 games, and with Braga likely to continue to play their attacking game, then hard to see them holding out, which will probably see them also going forward in search of goals on a more regular basis, instead of just sitting back for the whole game.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February Not wanting to do the lord mayor show but theEuropa league really is a time bomb for.the punter. My advise is minimum stakes as it , really only favours the bookie. Time and time again we have all been burnt on sure things in this 2nd rate competition and still the old urge lingers to take the bookie on. Personally i stopped speculating on this competition years ago as it will clean your pockets. Just my opinion

Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February Don't want to act like a wise guy, but I have to agree with fidders here. Looking at those fixtures, there is literally NO obvious winners in any of those games. Its difficult to know how many of the above 'top' teams are going to prioritise winning this competition. Both City & United are chasing the EPL title, the Italian clubs are both aiming to finish in the top 4 and even have a chance to challenge for the Scudetto. My favourites to go on a run here are Stoke City and Hannover 96.. Both have decent underrated squads and are pretty much guaranteed a mid table finish in their domestic leagues. Good luck to everyone with their picks, I would advise looking at the pre-match lineups before placing any serious bets :)

Agree in Stoke. Might choose a nice combo with MU and Porto. Stake? 50% of whats in my pocket. Left one. Hernandez claims United are already setting their sights on continental glory. "We need to get used to the fact we are not in the Champions League this season. And the history of Manchester United is such that it doesn't matter which competition you are in, we want to win it, no matter who else is in it, or whether it is an important trophy for other teams." Ajax have been extremely poor since the turn of the year - they have lost 3 of their 5 games since the winter break and only picked up their first win with a morale-boosting result at NAC Breda at the weekend. Manchester United win 1.80@bet365 Roberto Mancini has insisted that Manchester City will be taking the Europa League seriously and want to win the competition. With no FA Cup tie to contend with at the weekend, Mancini has said he will play a full strength side and give his players a rest later in the week. City did pick up a win at Aston Villa at the weekend. Before that, though, they had won only 1 of their last 6 away from home Porto are currently second behind in-form Benfica in the Liga Sagres, and they have not lost a competitive game at home all season and only failed to score in one of those games. FC Porto win or draw 1.40@bet365 "We have shocked a few people with our results and performances in Europe already this season, so there is no reason why that can't continue to be the case in this match." Glenn Whelan in ”Quotes of the week”. Stoke won 2 and drew 1 of their home games in the Europa League group stage and they always make it difficult for the big teams to settle and get into their stride. They have beaten Liverpool and Tottenham at home this season as well as holding Man Utd and Chelsea to draws. The atmosphere at the Britannia will play its part on a big European night for the club. Stoke win or draw 1.50@bet365 Btw how about Atletico Madrid who normally take the european competition serious. They have won 8 of their last 10 matches in EL and since Simeone took over they have gone 6 games without conceding a single goal. Atletico draw or win 1.53@bet365 All info and quotes from whoscored.com.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February

Both City & United are chasing the EPL title' date=' [/quote']True, however: there's no Premier League action this weekend. Just FA Cup, but neither City nor United is still in it. So there's absolutely no reason not to field their strongest squads. And especially in United's case, I think they will, for they have a difficult match away at Norwich scheduled the weekend AFTER the SECOND leg against Ajax. So I think they may want to finish Ajax off in the first leg in order for them to be able to fully concentrate on the Norwich game in the week ahead. So, yeah, I think United tb Ajax is a good bet, for all the reasons Alovenac mentioned (the difference in quality between these two teams isn't just big, it's out-of-this-world-HUGE ... I think). At these odds (took 'em @ 2.05 earlier), 10(and then some)/10 for me :p

Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February Any of you guys watched Alkmaar's recent games ? I've seen Anderlecht recent performances and they look unstopable at the moment. I'm thinking at Anderlecht DNB @ 2.5 with bet365 , they are the only team who won all the matches and they had difficult trips at Moscow and Athens. These are the belgian's 20 players selectet for the first leg : Biglia, Bedi Mbenza, Canesin Matos, Cordier, Deschacht, De Sutter, Gillet, Jovanovic, Juhasz, Kabangu, Kljestan, Kouyate, Marecek, Mbokani, Odoi, Proto, Safari, Schollen, Suarez, Wasilew. I'm sure that Suarez and Jovanovic will do some damage and also Alkmaar is probably the most in shape team in Netherlands along Feyenoord, so the conclusion is that there will be some goals. My main concern is that Ajax hammered Anderlecht last year and that's why I want some opinions about AZ's strenght. The most secure bet in my opinion is both teams to score @ 1.66 and over 2.5 @ 1.80 (which is too high) at bet365

Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February Odds for Anderlecht X2 are looking nice indeed. As Belgian, I also follow the Dutch League and I don't think they gonna lose. I am pretty sure Anderlecht will score against them, with al the offensive quality. Dutch teams are known for their attacking mentality and Anderlechts strenght is the counterattack. Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February Steaua is looking nice at the moment as we saw at the Antalya friendlies, they managed to beat some pretty modest teams easily like Kuban (Steaua - Kuban 3-0). Their morale is up having the home field advantage, they'll be struggling to score as many goals as possible through M. Costea, modest attack, poor defense as a team. Twente is having a great form in their championship occupying the 5th position with 54 goals scored and 22 conceived. De Jong from Twente will overrun Steaua's defense. Last 3 matches of Twente ended up in over 4.5: Twente 2 : 3 Heracles Almelo Twente 4 : 1 Groningen Twente 5 : 0 RKC Waalwijk So It's most likely that we will see a match with at least 3 goals. Good Luck Steaua - Twente Over 2.5 @ 2.10 Bet365 Twente Over 1.5 @ 2.50 Bet365

Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February Hi guys! I usually don´t post my picks in this forum but now I want to hear your opinions. Viktoria Plzen vs. Schalke 04 -both teams to score @1.83 Bet365 Despite being underdog in most of CL matches, Plzen showed that they aren´t kind of team, which just try to hold 0-0 as long as they can, and then try to surprise opponent with 1 or 2 good counterattacks. Especially their home matches were opened with many goalscoring opportunities for both sides (5-1 Pyunik, 3-2 Rosenborg, 2-1 FC Copenhagen - in qualifying round, 2-2 AC Milan, 1-1 BATE, 0-4 Barcelona - in group matches). So "both teams to score" in every game, except of Barcelona, but Plzen had a few good chances in first 20 minutes, but rest of the match played without defender who was sent off. Plzen has to cope without important midfielder Jiracek, who has moved to Wolfsburg, and also without defender Bystron. Obviously, Schalke is favourite in this clash. They scored 8 goals in away games in group stage of EL, and doesn´t matter if doubtful Raúl play tonight, they could send really strong offence against Plzen´s defence. Schalke scores in almost every away Budesliga´s match, so I don´t see problem why they wouldn´t be able to break Plzen´s defence at least once. Hannover 96 - Club Brugge - Hannover to win @1.82 Pinnacle Hosts are playing in calm middle of Bundesliga´s table, so they can fully focus on tonight´s match in EL. Hannover plays in good form this year, they played 4 competitive matches, all in domestic league, with 2 wins and 2 draws, score 3-1, but 3 of 4 matches were played away. Yes, they didn´t impress a lot in home EL´s matches, where only drew with FC Copenhagen 2-2 and Standard Liege 0-0, and finally won against Vorskla 3-1. Tonight they are still without striker Didier Ya Konan, who just arrived from african cup of nations, and Hannover´s coach want to rest him for a while. Club Brugge are arriving to Hannover with 4 league wins in a row, so they are in good shape after losing 2 first competitive matches in this year. They also played well in away games in gropu stage - 2-2 Birmingham, 3-4 Maribor, 1-2 Braga. But on the other hand, I feel that their main goal is to fight for Belgian champion, where they are losing 7 points on first Anderlecht and they should be fully fit for next league matches. It could be very tight tonight, but I really feel that Hannover will come on top. Udinese - PAOK - PAOK +0.5AH @2.17 Pinnacle I really think that PAOK could take something from this game. Udinese is really strong home team, but all in all, their recent form is horrible, because they managed to lose 4 of last 6 matches. Udinese is fighting for CL spot in Italian league, so I could see them to move their focus on this part of season. Tonight they are without strik Di Natale, who is significant blow for home side. Di Natale is scoring for Udinese a lot, he is in the end of most Udinese´s attacking moves, so his ability to score goals will be missing tonight. PAOK plays well in last matches, despite losing against Olympiacos 2 weeks ago. They impressed especially in away games in group stage, where they were able to beat Tottenham 1-2, Shamrock 1-3, and took one point from unpredictable cold Rubin Kazan (2-2). I was considering +1AH, which is about 1.55, but I don´t think there is value, so for small stakes, I´m going to take this one. Good luck and thanks for opinions

Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February The price on both Manchester clubs looks fairly short. Porto aren't exactly pushovers, and they haven't lost at home in a year.... actually this time last year 1-0 to Sevilla. Either way I don't think Manchester City have demonstrated particularly good form in Europe this campaign, and despite the positive noises coming from their camp, the league really has to be the priority for them. I'm sure they'd love to win a cup to gain a bit of winning mentality, but I'm also sure they'd love a much easier opponent to play in the first knock-out stage. United as well haven't set the world alight this season in Europe, especially away they haven't put too much effort in it would seem. Defending has been an issue for them, and I don't think they'll be sticking out what I would term to be their strongest squad. I've seen a bit of Ajax this season, and while they aren't having the best of seasons, and their defending has been terrible in the league, they look far too big against a United side possibly feeling they're a little bit too big to be in this competition. Evra, Giggs and Berbatov are already announced as being rested. Goals would be my call here.

Hi, I am from Moldova. How can you say Kuban Krasnodar is modest team? 6th in the regular season of the Russian Premier League. And from what I know Mihai Costea is not regular for Steaua anymore, Nikolic, Tatu or Rusescu are there. Also, Steaua scored 4 goals against Maccabi Haifa and 3 against AEK Larnaca! Modest attack? Please provide good info next time.

6th place in the russian championship indeed indicates that is a modest team. Weak Tomsk, Modest Kuban, Good Rubin. And you're clearly overestimating Steaua, I'm a big fan of them from Bucharest and I know what they're capable of. Thanks anyway

Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February

Hi Anybody got some team news about the AZ - Anderlecht match? Cheers :)
AZ Alkmaar's fine run in the UEFA Europa League will meet its toughest test yet against their round of 32 opponents RSC Anderlecht, who proved among the star performers of the group stage and boast the tournament's top scorer. Previous meetings • The sides have been paired for the first time in UEFA competition. • AZ's record against Belgian sides is W1 D2 L1 (W1 D1 L0 at home). • Anderlecht's 12 games against Dutch opponents have ended W8 D2 L2 (W4 D1 L1 in the Netherlands). • Anderlecht lost to another Dutch side, AFC Ajax, at this stage of last season's competition, falling 3-0 at home and 2-0 in Amsterdam. AZ finished fourth last season and are currently one better this term, only two points shy of Dutch Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven. Match background • AZ are on a seven-match unbeaten run in Europe – two victories followed by five draws. At home they have gone six games without defeat – four wins and two draws – since a 2-1 loss against FC Dynamo Kyiv in last season's group stage. The Dutch outfit are playing European football after the winter break for the first time since 2006/07, when they beat Fenerbahçe SK and Newcastle United FC before bowing out to SV Werder Bremen in the UEFA Cup quarter-finals. • Anderlecht are in the round of 32 for the fourth time in five seasons; they made it to the last 16 in 2007/08 and 2009/10 but were beaten by Ajax last season. • Ariël Jacobs' men are unbeaten in eight European outings this term – seven wins and a draw. They have won all four of their away fixtures, scoring twice in each of them. Team facts • Anderlecht's Matías Suárez is the competition's leading scorer with seven goals, one more than FC Lokomotiv Moskva's Dmitri Sychev. Another Anderlecht player, Guillaume Gillet, is third in the standings with five, level with Andrew Johnson of eliminated Fulham FC. • Anderlecht's Dieudonné Mbokani and Milan Jovanović took on AZ in the 2009/10 UEFA Champions League group stage with R. Standard de Liège; Standard edged out AZ to finish third in the section, both of their direct encounters ending 1-1. • Anderlecht were the top scorers in the UEFA Europa League group stage with 18 goals – nine in each half. They were the only side to earn a maximum haul of 18 points. • Anderlecht's 5-3 win against FC Lokomotiv Moskva was the highest-scoring game of the group stage. • The winners will take on Udinese Calcio or PAOK FC in the round of 16 on 8 and 15 March, playing the first leg at home. • AZ have never come across Udinese but took on PAOK in the 2004/05 UEFA Cup first round, winning 3-2 in Salonika and 2-1 at home. • Anderlecht have met neither of their potential opponents in UEFA competition. AZ Alkmaar have rewarded coach Gertjan Verbeek with a two-year contract extension after an impressive 18 months in charge. Verbeek is now committed to the Alkmaar side until summer 2015, having assumed the reins for the start of the 2010/11 campaign. "I have been working very well with everyone here at the club, so I am extremely happy with it," said the 49-year-old of his renewed terms. Verbeek's charges were second in UEFA Europa League Group G and will face RSC Anderlecht in the round of 32, with the first leg in Alkmaar on 16 February and the return in Brussels the following Thursday. Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February

Braga - Besiktas over 2.5 @ 2.07
:( Man Utd @ 1.92 pinnacle Man Utd -1.5 @ 3.35 bet365 Since resuming from their winter break, Ajax have just one win in their 5 games in all competitions as their defence in particluar has let them down. They have conceded at least two goals in 4 of these 5 games, which does not bode well for them as Man Utd come to town, who have scored at least two goals in 11 of their last 12 games in all competitions. With Rooney and the zippy Wellbeck up front, with plenty of supply down the flanks from Valencia and Nani, doubt that Ajax is strong to withstand them here, and though Man Utd are light at the back, they do have some good young players to fill these gaps. Like Man Utd to win this one well Man City @ 2.89 pinnacle While Porto have been doing well this season, doubt that this squad is as good as last year's sqaud as they do have some players missing. City look pretty strong here as they have pretty much their full team for this tie, and with no games on the weekend, they can play their best eleven here. Defensively they are hard to beat, while the likes of Aguero, Silva and Dxeko have been in good touch this season, and with the Toure brothers back, they look even better. Like them to get an away win here to make it easier for them in the second leg Valencia @ 2.44 pinnacle Stoke tend to play well at home, but this season they have been found out at times, and have lost their last two EPL home games to Sunderland and West Brom, and have scored just twice in their last 5 EPL games. Though they topped their group in the previous phase, they face a very experienced European opponent who continue to do well even when they lose players year after year. They are coming off a very good 4-0 win over Sporting Gijon, and expect them to keep possession quite easily here against Stoke. Stoke are not as good as they were last year and going there on a cold midweek night is not as daunting as it used to be

Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February Since I follow the Eredivisie, here are some brief suggestions for Dutch teams in this competition. ;) Ajax v Manchester Utd Both teams are playing below expectations, but the English are clearly higher quality and in better shape. However, these 1,85 for tonight and 1,25 after 2nd leg for Man Utd have no value for me. I expect a great fight from Ajax, but if away side would playing powerfully from start, then their win is certain. Cause this match can go in two ways, imo. draw @3.66 pinnacle 2/2 @3.10 gamebookers AZ Alkmaar v Anderlecht Great neighborhood derby between teams that are the best in their country this season. In these situations, more experienced team often have a key advantage and therefore 1.97 for Belgians to progress is not bad, imo. But tonight will be very uncertain, because AZ playing great in front of their fans. Great collective, against great individuals? bts @1.67 bet365 Anderlecht to progress @1.97 nordicbet Steaua v Twente Simply Twente is a better team than Romanians, although Janko left and few new players arrived in Steaua. Steaua didnt played a competitive match this year, while Twente play nice football again with Steve McLaren. Heracles is a local rival, and now must follow the redemption for that defeat. Both teams will play tactically during bad weather. under 2,5 @1.75 nordic bet Twente to progress @1.35 nordic bet Trabzon v PSV First of all, 1.40 for PSV to qualify? No value for sure. Both teams are in good shape, and there is no too much difference between them. For this first match, I really dont have a reasonable opinion. Only factor that I trust here is a statistic. In their leagues this two are very efficient, but in European competitions it's not so often. But I'll try... bts @1.73 bet365

Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February

6th place in the russian championship indeed indicates that is a modest team. Weak Tomsk' date=' Modest Kuban, Good Rubin. And you're clearly overestimating Steaua, I'm a big fan of them from Bucharest and I know what they're capable of. Thanks anyway[/quote'] You are a big fan of them, but you do not know Mihai Costea is reserve since months ago. :) And you clearly underrate the Russian League, Kuban Krasnodar would fight for championship in the Netherlands! Kuban is not FK Krasnodar the other team of the town which is equal to Tomsk, Rubin or others.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February Stoke City vs Valencia This is an interesting tie as their has always been a debate about "Can Barcelona do it on a cold windy night up in Stoke" well Valencia are hardly Barcelona but they're probably the closest thing in this competition so it should be a good watch for the neutral with a clash of two very different styles. I think for this game you cannot take league form into account because you often see teams doing not so well in the league but going on great runs in the cup and i can see that happening with Stoke as i feel the players will be extra motivated for this tie as for many it will be their first European knockout tie and they will want to prove themselves at this stage. Valencia's squad has bags of top-level experience in it with some quality players but i doubt any of them will have experienced anything like the Brittania before. Stoke have scored in every home game in the Europa league (11 goals in 5 games) with 8 goals coming in the first half, now i feel that if Stoke and their fans are really up for it, and they can limit Valencias time on the ball and really get in their faces and rattle them like we've seen them do to Arsenal in the past, i can see them scoring an early goal int his game or at least grabbing a goal in the first half as i haven't been too impressed with Valencias defending from what i've seen from them this season and that's why i've taken on Stoke to score in both halves @ 10/3 , Goal in the first 10 minutes @10/3, Goal in the 11th-20th minute @7/2 and Stoke first team to score @11/10 all with SkyBet . Haven't stuck anything too big on the game but i felt these prices weren't bad for some small stake punts. I personally would like to see "football" win this game but i feel its worth it as Stoke have the tools to really rattle Valencia.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February Steaua - Twente three season games definitely big advantage for Twente. 11 goals in these 3 games show, that they can make it. after a loss last weekend, team is surely motivated to win, euro league with these big teams this season is defo a reason to reach next round. steaua, written already, with no league games this year, only more or less fake games against krasnodar or chianja... Lok Moscow vs. Bilbao these weather issues are not really the key, if u want you can argue like this> the goalie, who moves less will be that frozen, that he is as good as usual and therefore, there will be more goals.. over 2.5 sounds like a good bet to me...and a draw is likely to come out...DNB bets or just bets on goals though Plzen - schalke even fallen odds are sign for schalke to win (actual odd for Schalke to win @1.8). Schalke in germany called (or calling themselves) the eurofighters. International games always a highlight for Schalke, especially this year with such strong teams as porto manCity ManU. After a blaming loss this weekend against gladbach, schalke will get his moral back and win in czech against plzen, which only played friendship games this year. Ajax - ManU Ajax lost last two home games in the league. Man U with first squad will beat Ajax, which struggle at home so far. They are in high ,moral after 2:1 victory over Liverpool..and no PL game this weekend is a reason to be fighting with best players My europe league bet Lok. Moskau - Athle. Bilbao over 2.5 2.1 Ajax Amsterdam - Manchester Utd 1H-2 2.3 Viktoria P.(N) - FC Schalke 04 2 1.8 Steaua Bukar. - Twente Ens. 2 2.3 combi odd: 20 @bet90.com

Re: UEFA Europa League > Tues 14 & Thurs 16 February Anderlect is one of my surprise nominees tonight. Gillet , Matias Suarez and Jovanovic are all on form . They will be on pitch today. On the other hand Alkmaar havent conceded even a goal in their last two matches but rivals werent strong. Anderlecht players are experienced side. They can get an advantage for the second leg. Anderlecht or X2
