  1. Re: february freerolls :welcome to PL Flopan... Enjoy your stay... there's plenty of good stuff for new players on here so check out the poker forum and get involved! Good luck on the tables!

  2. Re: PL members room I think both arguments have merit... However, not just anybody can enter the value added PL exlcusive tournaments as they are password protected. Who gets the passwords is decided by the moderators and some-one just joining is normally told to stick around and join the next one. The rest of the detailed information about specific tournaments as such is a regurgatation of what can be found on the net/sites/e-mails so as such is not private information. It is only so good because the moderators and those members who post the information care about the site and the community.... and it is this community that makes the forum so good. I think the system works great as it is... the openess of this forum and the information and opinions of the members that are posted is what attracted me to join this site. We have some great poker players in this forum who are willing to share their thoughts with us 'donks' and I don't think that would happen if we had a private area. I have visited other forums but believe that PL is one of the best (certainly the best I have seen) not just in content but for supporting, helping and encouraging people to do better... Keep it as it is... :ok

  3. Re: Disillusioned

Don't play limit Nade you're an action player and you'll lose heart all together. Take a break and play some low level PL omaha much more fun and a lot of terrible players.
Absolutely agree. The PL Omaha at low stakes is full of fish (I am one) and can be fun... lots of hands to play so plenty of action. Good luck with what you decide. Sometimes a break is all you need to get the desire back. :ok
  4. Re: Pop Quiz (Part XXXVII) I hate these situations but too often end up in them but agree with Hornet! CALL - with only a few hands left before you get blinded out you have to take a chance. Even if you fold and get AK next hand the BB will most likely call, if it is folded to them, as the raise is 100 into a 600 pot. Is there any +EV in folding in this situation?

  5. Re: GUKP leg 1 Unlucky Brian! Sounds like you had fun but no luck. Always next time! The Casino in Brighton is a bit naff... many better places to go for a drink... good luck with the next rounds!

  6. Re: t6poker - freerolls on a new site launching soon

Yeah i sent a screenshot, still waiting the torney tokens are for sit and gos, the ones you can use them start at 9 euros and have a T next to them mate
Not had any reply from T6 as yet. Not a good sign but I suppose as this is early doors I can give them some lee-way. Jo - how did your withdrawal go? Any luck yet? Will have another go with the tourney tokens... I'm sure I tried all the SNG Step tourneys but it kept taking cash instead of tokens. Probably just me! :$
  7. Re: t6poker - freerolls on a new site launching soon SpannerJo... I still have the old software on my PC and it shows my previous winnings... would this help to claim your money back? I intend to send a screen dump to them and see what happens. Also, does anybody know how to use your tournament chips (T$) rather than your winnings to play? I can't seem to but assume there must be way?

  8. Re: 2007: how was it for you, profit or loss? Sadly much the same as last year... about $1300 up paying freerolls and occasional PL/low buy-in games. My Poker resolution for this year is to move up the levels in cash games and start playing more buy-in tournaments. As one dictates the other I will see how it goes! Looking forward to it! Maybe this will be the year that it all starts making sense!! :hope

  9. Re: What Is Your Limit ? Good question RVRD... and one I assume that came out of the discussion in the PLOPS thread after the poor turn out the other night. Personally the only games I pay for at the 'moment' are the Punters Lounge competitions. I have paid for occassional other games and intend to move into this more as I do not believe I have improved in recent times (probably due to too many freerolls) but I don't much 'spare' cash at the moment so all my money comes from freerolls. Bit of a dilemma really. Need to build a bankroll to play with and try on one site to improve my game. As far as what would I pay... well that depends... for a one off game with extra value I would pay up $5... for league games it would be $3 as I would want to play as many as possible fo these. Therefore the type of game and who is playing does have some bearing. I enjoy the PL games and find them very tough but it is because of this that I play in order that I can improve. If they cost too much this takes me further out of my comfort zone, is distracting and my play becomes worse so no real point playing. Will this improve me as a player? Probably not. The other question that I think is important is the day of the games... I cannot play everyday so some games I miss out on because of that. On the day in question there were not many people who voted for the games so was the problem with the date, the format (HU) and the buy-in rather than just about the cost? Final comment - how many players play in the league games on a regular basis? Probably an average of 40 I would guess... OK remove freeroll/low stakes players such as myself and you're probably down to 30-35. How many of those enjoy heads-up poker or have a personal reason for wanting to play these games? Maybe half of those.... Can they play that evening? I would think you would end up with 11 players. Is this possibly why? Think somewhere in there I answered the original question. :$
