Re: Group B > Nov 6 (Arsenal, Schalke, Montpelier, Olympiakos) Olympiakos are a nice price here when you take into consideration their good home record in the CL and Montpellier's lack of experience in the competition. Olympiakos are flying in their domestic league [unlike Montpellier] and with a noisy home crowd, it's a great chance for them to gain some ground on Schalke or Arsenal perhaps. the 1.99 at Pinnacle has to be snapped up. Reckon Arsenal could be a tad shorter and worth a shot at those odds. 3.25 DNB with Bet365 looks good too me.

Re: Group D > Nov 6 (Man City, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax) Do City merit being this short? Yes it's a must win and they have the home support, but what indications is there that they should win here? Last season they drew with Napoli, beat Villarreal with the last kick of the ball and beat a weak Bayern side who had already qualified, still going out. Add into that a 1-1 draw with Dortmund this season and its not convincing reason. Fair enough they now have that experience under their belt but I'm not sure they merit these odds after the smashing they recieved 2 weeks ago against this Ajax side, and also considering their team absentees. Maicon, Lescott, Milner, Silva and Rodwell should all sit out. Ajax could rename the same team which brushed aside City last time. I wouldn't be surprised if City did manage to win here but I wouldn't want to risk cash on, at best, a 1.45 shot. If I do bet it will be on the draw at 5.00 with BetFred.

Re: WBA v Southampton > Monday 5th November Actually would have had WBA shorter here so it's definately a good pick for me. Always a team I respect at home, and with Southamptons relatively poor away from so far, I would expect a WBA win here. 1.75 at Coral the standout price.

But, Juventus have recently been grinding out wins rather than brushing teams aside, now I know this can be seen as the sign of a champion team but I feel they are due to come unstuck. Juventus will be wary of this resurgent Inter side and may not be as confident as they would have been last season. Medium stake on the +0.5 but also some money on Inter to win at 5.50. -

Looked at some game this morning and noticed this, definately some value in backing Hibs here.Have to agree the price on Hibs is very generous. I am a Hibs supporter and the team are playing well just now. Our attacking players have really found their form and we look like we will score more than once in every game we play. Unbeaten at home so far this season and don't see a St Mirren team that played 120 minutes during the week breaking this record. Home win at 6/5!! -
Re: Serie A > Nov 3-4 I have been quite pleased with Juan Jesus's performances so far to be honest. I do think though that Ranocchia has never looked like a convincing player at this level. I just feel there is an excellent team spirit at the Nerazzurri just now and they will not fear Juventus, also less pressure on Inter here.

Re: Manchester United v Arsenal > Saturday 3rd November If Manchester United get shorter it's a lay for me. With these kind of games I tend to not rely too much on form, Arsenal could easily produce a scintillating performance and win here.

Maribor is hot at the moment. Those 3 missing players are not immportant at all. IMO this could easy be a draw.

Spurs took the lead in Greece last time out but when you expected them to push on and run out easy winners in Greece they laboured and that’s not a good sign. Maribor clearly enjoy home surroundings and if Spurs get sloppy they’ll take full advantage. At odds against the Maribor-Draw double chance has a lot of appeal given the Spurs absentees in this game. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread This may be a silly question, but I was thinking just there; how do the usual pacemakers in these big races for Frankel, Ballydoyle horses etc. stay in Group race ratings? Theyre normally finishing last or thereabouts so surely their ratings should be going down, and therefore their abaility to run in such races? [bullet Train, Robin Hood etc.] Again I may not be thinking this through...

:clap:clap What a pick fella!2.10 Nottingham - 1pt win Precision Strike @ 25/1 (Bet365) Probably just about the least interesting candidate in the field in the sense that he's already had four starts in nurseries but quite a few of these would have questions to answer about the surface today and off a lowly mark of 50 I don't think Richard Guest's runner is out of this. He showed very little in maidens or his first two handicaps but his latest two efforts over 6f in the mud have been respectable. He stayed on to be 3rd at Yarmouth behind a couple of half-decent sorts in a 0-75 affair two starts back and had excuses at Catterick last time when 6th of 10 (beaten 6l). He was hampered by a faller half a mile out and then had no run through when staying on in the closing stages. Had to be eased for the final 50 yards or so and wouldn't have gone down by as much with a clear passage. Catterick wouldn't be his ideal track, either, so better can be expected today. He steps up to a mile which should suit on the evidence of his two most recent runs and the soft ground is no issue. He's dropped another 2lbs in the handicap and Richard Guest's last two runners have been beaten 1/2l and the other one a winner. Fingers crossed he can outrun his price here from a good draw in stall 1. -

Running off the same mark than the last 3 outings' date= and the same 5lb claimer on board in Darren Egan, but today he has softer ground then those runs and that may well be what the doctor ordered. This horse has some very good form over soft ground bar a 7/8 although that was a much longer trip and maybe not suitable for him. Both his wins have came with Egan on board and with a wide draw today [normally a good thing at Bath], I hope there's going to be a 3rd win. 6.00 Bet365 -

They're actually unbeaten in 7 homes games but the wins were over lesser ranked teams like Coritiba and Palmeiras. Santos are in better form lately and have recorded some decent away scorelines. They are now making up for a poor start to the season and at these odds I can't resist a flutter. Should add that both teams do have some notable absentees namely Neymar, Fucile, Ganso, Zen, Mattos and Lodeiro, key misses for both teams which may count towards a low scoring game. Bahia v Fluminense = Fluminense to win 2.30 Bet365 Bahia are missing three attackers in Elias, Jones and Souza and midfield man Kleberson. Fluminense only have one real miss and it's Thiago Neves who is on interational duty. Fluminense are on some fine form and have recorded away wins over Flamengo, Internacional and Vasco as of late. I had this as a draw but with the absentees I reckon the away side could nick it. -

Re: WC - Europe Qualification > 12 October Albania v Iceland = Albania to win 2.15 Bet365 Iceland's away record in recent Euro and WC qualifying rounds is pretty awful. W0 D2 L9 in their last two WC qualifying attempts and showed a record of W1 D1 L10 in their last two Euro qualifying attempts. Meanwhile Albania have posted some decent home results with draws against Sweden, Denmark, Romania, Macedonia and wins over Cyprus, Belarus and Montenegro. Also only lost narrowly to the likes of France and Portugal. This is a group with no real big hitters and at home Albania will be looking to grab the 3 points no doubt.

Re: Flat Racing Wednesday 10th of October 4.00 Nottingham There is a couple of good looking bets in this race for me, but I will take the plunge Flaxen Flare. He has been running in higher quality than this lately and posting some decent efforts. His best results have came on the soft including a win at Windsor over the 10f. Running off his lowest mark yet and bound to run well. 7.50 Bet365 2pts 4.30 Nottingham Mountain Range may not upset the strongly backed Gosden horse here, but it's worthy of a place at least in my eyes. Tumbling down on the weights but now at a fair mark and lowest since July last year. Ryan Moore takes the saddle and it's one of only two rides today for him. The horse will have no trouble with the ground or trip and is a good EW price for me. 15.00 Bet365 1pt EW 7.30 Kempton Emkanaat is up 3lbs from a win at Wolverhampton on the AW at the tail end of last month. A fairly consistent horse and running for a stable which has produced a fair few AW winners lately. With a 7lb claimer on board in Jean Van Overmeire hopefully he can defy a wide draw and notch a 2nd win in a row. 8.00 Bet365 2pts

Re: Group C > Nov 6 (Malaga, AC Milan, Anderlecht, Zenit SP) Zenit have a really rubbish away record in the CL and are missing their record signing Hulk here. They did beat the Belgians last time but it was nowhere near convincing, they just did enough with Kerzakov converting the winning penalty. After this good display, and a brave draw in Italy, Anderlecht know a win is required if they want European football after Christmas. 2.8 at various firms looks nice. Milan have looked better in their last couple of outings but there is still big concerns over the defense for me. With Malaga playign surprisingly well in their debut season, I see some value on backing the Spanish. However with questions over Milan I would rather look for goals here and choose over 2.5 at 1.95 with Bet365.
