Re: IAAF World Championships (athletics) Great start for me so far, opposed Godina heavily in every matchup available in Shot Put, and had a small bet on Devetzi in Triple Jump @34 - now she is just 3/1. Hoping for more good results :):clap

Re: Tennis : Wimbledon 2005 (20th June - 3rd July) Also can't see past Malisse there. Coria's form this year isn't convincing, adding the fact he is not really a grass player and Malisse is quite good on fast surfaces I would have priced this match exactly the other way round. As for Popp, I am sticking to my rule to leave the hands away from that match - he may be awful everywhere but here!

Re: USA F1 Grand Prix Well, it's a game isn't it? Could have lost 40 points so the 10 were okay. And my real bet returns were even sweeter :cow

Re: Tennis : Wimbledon 2005 (20th June - 3rd July) So the tournament takes off tomorrow... Here are my seven golden rules for Wimbledon (not to be taken too seriously): 1) Do not bet against any -IC. All croatian/former yugoslavian starters in both the mens and womens event look like potential dangers. Ancic,Karlovic,Ljubicic - Jankovic,Ivanovic(last year's junior champ. here!). 2) Stay away from the flippy-floppy germans. Refering to Schuettler(called Shaker here),Haas(still trying to figure out why he is talking to himself in match breaks),Kiefer(Nerves like a woman),Popp(always ascends from the lowest niveau to a good form in wimbledon). 3) NO 0-3 set bets against big servers. Even players like Federer will have difficulties to overcome players that serve lightening speed precise strokes. 4) Don't bet on clay specialist despite tempting odds. E.g. Coria/Ferrero/Robredo - there is reason some of them already announced they aren't starting here. It is simply not the same. 5) If you're going for outrights expect the upper half - go each-way. I am talking from experience here. I had Puerta to win French Open @250/1 but win only. The bottom half is surely weaker and maybe some long odds player will slip through. 6) Tim won't win this tournament. Simply had to include that - patriotism is an okay thing, but let's face it. he isn't in a form for this - i'd rather take murray! 7) Don't bet on rain. Excellent weather forecast. We are in for heat battles.:cow

Re: Canadian Grand Prix
....even if the Minardi pair of Albers and Friesacher drove around the track really slowly' date=' they still probably wouldn't even finish the race! :lol[/quote'] Albers finished 5/8 races, Friesacher 3/8 this year. Karthikeyan (or whatever) 5/8, Monteiro 8/8! -
Re: Canadian Grand Prix Nothing new, expect if the Michelin drivers wouldn't start, the Jordan / Minardi drivers 'just would have to drive the distance to win points!
-
Re: Canadian Grand Prix Terrific value in the following: Karthikeyan, N Monteiro, T Albers, C Freisacher to finish in points. Despite the fact that there cars are less than competitive, the circumstances suggest taking prices higher than 30(Centrebet or Betdirect) looks great value.

Re: Tennis : Wimbledon 2005 (20th June - 3rd July) Wimbledon 2005 Men's Event (posted 10th June 2006, prices are subject to change!):
Ivo Karlovic Thomas Johansson Ivan Ljubicic Richard Gasquet Robin Söderling 150/1 2/10 pts at 5dimes 325 0.5/10 pts at 5dimes 126 1/10 pts at 5dimes 120-140/1 0.5/10 pts at betfair.com 200/1 1/10 pts at 5dimes If he serves well, he is tough to beat. Exactly the game needed to have success on grass. Totally missed out on clay but seems to be top in form to achieve big things in Wimbledon. Trading @40/1 on Betfair. My opinion changed After beating Henman, the swedish player looks like a good outsider for Wimbledon. Small stakes though. Had an excellent start this year by reaching several finals where he almost always met Federer - and lost. Despite that he has shown that hard court is a surface he is good on and so I think his game will also suit the grass court. Didn't expect him to do so well on grass, but showed some decent perfomances at Queens. Worth a small bet. Great performance vs Federer this week when he lost narrowly. Should be much shorter in my eyes, with his big serve and agressive strokes. Won some tourn. on hard court already. Tommy Haas Radek Stepanek Xavier Malisse Karol Beck 230/1+ 0.5/10 pts at betfair.com @175/1 0.5/10 pts at 5dimes @225/1 0.5/10 pts at 5dimes @200/1 0.5/10 pts at 5dimes Germany's most talented player who never managed to do really good at big events, a pity that is. Has a game for this surface and is doing good in Halle at the moment. Has shown some form this year, looks to do well on grass. A long shot. Doesn't he look like the brother of T Haas? And he also acts like him on court. But also a powerful player that has played decently in Queens. At those odds I can't resist. Saw him against Roddick. Impressive play, looks good on grass. May upset a lot of people in Wimbledon -
Re: Tennis : Gerry Webber Open/Stella Artois Championship Betandwin had 1/2 - but that was too short for me, only bet was 7-6 karlovic first set at 5/1-Close!!!
What odds were you hoping to get? About 1.01? -
Re: Tennis : Gerry Webber Open/Stella Artois Championship Totally agree about Jankovic, I already lumped on her for Wimbledon glory @125/1. She had great results on hard court this year already.
Federer - Roddick No contest. Also fancy Jankovic, who has been a highly profitable to follow this tournament, taking a set off Sharapova or even upsetting her. She has taken a set off each of Davenport and Henin-Hardenne this year so worth consideration here. At the odds you can back both options. -
Re: Tennis : Gerry Webber Open/Stella Artois Championship I would stay away from Roddick's match. Karlovic is in such a great form at the moment that I don't think Roddick's price is justified. I'd bet a lot on a tiebreak to happen in this match. :D

Re: Intro Bet-F1 Special 2005 No never been to any Grand Prix and not planning to go to any - yet I would like to post latest news on BAR (see www.barf1.com), they presented their new car on sunday and are very optimistic, as all teams are. Hopefully they will fulfill their own expectations.:clap
Eeeh, and I had you down as being a Formula 1 buff....... Do you go to any of the Grand Prix? Im thinking of going to Monaco this year - ever been? Anyone? -
Re: Intro Bet-F1 Special 2005 To be honest I dont really care about this sport as long as michael is dominating it, just spotted this bet :clap
-
Re: Intro Bet-F1 Special 2005 Although I agree that Schumacher is one of the best racers, I think he is so dominant mainly because of his car and team - so I suggest banning Ferrari :spank
-
Re: Intro Bet-F1 Special 2005 Thanks for the warm welcomes! It is even down to 1.81 now, and the first price I was able to bet was 3.5, as posted at sports-punter :clap Hopefully he will manage to win one, why not at silverstone?:nana

Hi, I have been reading and visiting punter's lounge for quite a while now and I just recently started providing some of my tips at sports-tipsters, with nice success, so Paul encouraged me to post here as I find time for it. I would like to point at one bet I made on Sports-Tipster which I still find good value: Jenson Button to win a GP in 2005 @2.75 Gamebookers There are 19 races this year, some rule changes, BAR-HONDA is by no doubt one of the 3 top teams, he should have a higher chance here, as odds of UK bookies suggest, same bet: Coral @ 4/9 Skybet @1.28 Betdirect @8/15 I suggest to cover the bet at GB with the bet at Skybet: Button not to win a GP in 2005 @3.4 Makes a nice arb, although GB has quite a small max bet limit, so this price wont last too long unfortunately.:hope
Nobel Prize for Economics (Monday 10th October)

Re: Nobel Prize for Economics (Monday 10th October) Just wanted to point out some things about the Peace Prize betting as I followed it closely-wasn't on the winner though. IAEA started at 26! with Centrebet. And the betting was open just until 5 mins before announcement. Last odds I saw was IAEA and Nihan Hydanko (or whatever it is called) at 2.75 each. Must have been some leak that it was certain it would go to disarmorment organisations.
