  1. Re: Last 16 > Celtic v Juventus > Tue 12th February Celtic v Juventus Juventus 10/11 stanjames I strongly fancy the Italians to defeat Celtic at Parkhead tomorrow night. It was a great achievement for Celtic to get out of their group but I feel they rode their luck in qualifying to the next stage. Against Benfica at home they barely mustered a shot on target and set up not to lose rather than go for victory, looking out of their depth in the process. They did extremely well in both games against , but if it wasn't for Fraser Forster Barca would of won both games at ease. He has just come back from injury on Saturday and looked far from convincing at Inverness Moscow came against 10 men and the return game in was meaningless for Spartak.

  2. Re: Scottish Football > 5th - 11th February Aberdeen v St Mirren St Mirren draw no bet 7/4 boylesports Aberdeen are going through a sticky spell at the moment having not won in their previous 5 games including exiting the cup last Sunday to Hibs at Easter Road. They've only won one in their last 5 at Pittodrie and the pressure is mounting on Craig Brown with his contract due to expire this summer. The home fans will turn on thier side if things aren't going well and this should play into St Mirrens hands who have hit a purple patch in the last couple of weeks. They've reached the League Cup final, putting out Celtic, and progressed to the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup last weekend so they should be full of confidence. Their loan signing of Goncalves has hit the ground running scoring in all 3 starts and he seems to have given the Saints some momentum going forward. St Mirren are unbeaten in their last 4 at Aberdeen and I'd expect them to continue that run today.

  3. Re: Premier League 2013 - Week 1 Raymond Van Barneveld to beat Gary Anderson 6/5 sportingbet I quite fancy RVB to take out Anderson tonight, Barney has defeated Anderson in 3 out their last 5 Premier League meetings with Anderson winning one and a draw in the other. They faced each other in the last 16 of the 2013 World Championship with RVB winning 4-0 in a dreadful encounter. If the same Anderson turns up tonight it should be an easy victory for the Dutchman who seems to have found a new sense of belief following his win at the Grand Slam in November. He showed fighting spirit in his defeat to Taylor in the semis when in recent years he'd have folded and given up.

  4. Re: Scotland > William Hill Cup > 2nd - 3rd February Dundee United v Rangers Dundee Utd to win evens betvictor Third division meets SPL here in what is the tie of the round due to the circumstances surrounding the match. Rangers have decided to boycott their allocation of tickets for the game due to what they deemed as unfair treatment of them in the summer, even though they are a new club. There will be around 300 away fans there though who have decided to not abide by the boycott. United go into this game in a poor run of home form having not won since August against Dundee, however this is new manager Jackie McNamara's first game in charge and he'll have the players fired up for this. Rangers are without Lee McCulloch the type of player that could of dragged them through this tie but without his experience it's hard to see Rangers getting anything out of the game. United beat the old Rangers twice in 2012 against a much stronger side than they will face today so I'd fuuly expect them to win this today with the evens on offer terrific value.

  5. Re: Scottish Football > 29th Jan - 2nd Feb Motherwell v Dundee Utd Over 2.5 goals 7/10 bet365 I would be surprised if there is not a few goals in this game as we have seemed to have turned the corner in the last 2 months with our home performances and most importantly in the goalscoring department. We've scored 12 in our last 4 home matches and conceded 7 in the process. First choice keeper Darren Randolph is a doubt for tomorrow night after coming off against St Johnstone with a hamstring injury. Lee Hollis will play if Randolph is out, good shot stopper but looks uncertain at set pieces which could play in to Utd's hands if he were to play. We have been good going forward recently with plenty of threat coming from the pace of Humphrey, Ojamaa's trickery and Higdon has finished well. United come into this game in the wake of the departure of Peter Houston this morning, how this will effect the team is impossible to tell. They have been extremely poor at Tannadice this year but have performed better away from home. Their last 5 away games have went over 2.5 goals and they've scored 9 in the process with Johnny Russell grabbing a hat trick last week and Mackay-Steven getting back to his best after struggling with injury this season. Both defences have been suspect all season, ours especially due to a lack of protection from midfield and an inexperienced centre back pairing.

  6. Re: Scottish Football > Jan 2nd - Jan 3rd Celtic v Motherwell Celtic to win to nil 5/4 skybet This is the fourth encounter at Parkhead that Stuart McCall will have been in charge of Motherwell, in the previous 3 meetings Celtic have won to nil and I would expect similar today. Celtic come off the back of a defeat to Hibs so I am sure they will be fired up to get back on track. Our form away from home has been good this season but we tend to play with a fear factor against the Old Firm and very rarely trouble our opponents in terms of scoring goals, our defence is pretty weak as it has been all season so I don't envisage Celtic having to many problems in scoring.

  7. Re: 2013 PDC World Darts Championship Gary Anderson v John Bowles Bowles +3.5 sets 4/7 sportingbet Early one for tomorrow and one that really caught my eye. John Bowles was extremely impressive in his World Championship debut on Monday night defeating an on song Jamie Caven 4-2 in the final set to come through what has been the best game of the first round for me so far. Bowles averaged under 80 in his prelim match to sneak through to the first round proper but he upped his game hugely to average 93.56 and had a 50% double success rate. Both Anderson and Bowles rattle through their games at a quick pace so I don't see either player being put off by the others style which should bring a high quality encounter between the two. Anderson was also very impressive in the first round against Haavisto of Finland who put up a real fight and was unlucky not to take the game to a deciding set. Anderson averaged 98.82 and had a 58% double success rate which is excellent considering Andersons much publicised double troubles. I expect Anderson to win here but if Bowles keeps his form up he should at least win a set and i would expect him to push Anderson all the way in each set the same way the Finn did on Sunday night. Bowles won legs in every set against Caven, who scored well, so he should get a few opportunities to put a set on the board.

  8. Re: Scottish Football 7th November - 11th November Inverness v Hearts Inverness to win 17/10 pinnacle I would price ICT at evens to beat a poor Hearts side who have struggled away from home this season winning only once on their travels. Inverness have been on fire recently, unbeaten in their last 9 games including a 3-0 victory at Ibrox last week which will have increased their confidence further. Hearts lost last week to Dundee at Dens Park and I would expect them to struggle against their opponents who have been in fine goalscoring form throughout the season scoring 25 goals in 12 league games, the highest in the SPL.

  9. Re: Scottish Football - Oct 26-27 Inverness CT V St Johnstone Both teams to score; Yes 8/11 Stan James Tomorrow sees the 2 form teams of the SPL in action. Inverness are the leagues leading scorers this season knocking in 22 after just 10 games but they tend to leak in goals at the back with 9 out of ten of their league games finishing with both teams scoring. St Johnstone are also in fine form at the moment winning their last 5 consecutive matches and have a good strikeforce in Tade and the diminutive Hasselbaink. They've scored at least 2 goals in each of these 5 games and it is hard seeing them not scoring against a suspect Caley. In addition both teams scored in their 5 victories. Either team could go onto win this match with both teams to score looking the safest bet.

  10. Re: World Grand Prix 2012 Robert Thornton v Mervyn King Over 7.5 180s 11/10 skybet Both of these players have performed well this week to reach the quarter final stage. I suspect this will be a close encounter between the 2 so there should be plenty of opportunities for 180s taking into consideration the double start. Thornton hit 8 180s and King hit 5 180s in their victories over Taylor and Chisnall respectively. Thornton rarely comes down for cover from the 20 so I would expect more of the same from him if he performs to Wednesday nights showing. I've been really impressed with King this week, seems to be hitting form at the right time after a tough couple of years.

  11. Re: Scottish Football > 29 September Motherwell v Celtic Celtic to win to nil, 2/1 LADBROKES Celtic will have one eye on Europe going into tomorrows encounter burt they should have enough to win this one easily. We were dreadful on Wednesday night against division 3 opposition, albeit Newco Rangers. Even though we sit at the top of the table we have yet to be really tested this season against one of the better sides in the league. We are 7 games unbeaten in the SPL but we've not looked convincing against any of the opponents. Defensively we have been poor in our last few games and i don't envisage Celtic having too much trouble in breaking down the inexperienced backline. This is a big game for us and there will be a lot of pressure on the players to perform after the midweek embarrassment. We have had five big games so far this season in the Champions League, Europa League and League Cup and have proceeded to lose every one of these games to nil. To add to that we created next to nothing in all of these games apart from an offside goal in Levante. McCall appears to be out his depth against the better teams in a tactical sense and i would expect that to continue tomorrow.

  12. Re: Ross County V Celtic and other SPL games 18 August Dundee Utd v Dundee Dundee Utd -1.25 AH bet365 First SPL meeting between the Tayside rivals for good few years tomorrow should see the home side ease to victory. The 2 sides met in pre-season at Dens Park with Utd running out comfortable winners and i would expect more of the same tomorrow. Due to the uncertainty of who was going to replace Rangers in the SPL, Dundee were preparing for life in division 1 this season resulting in their squad looking to be too weak to compete against teams of Utd's quality. Utd are strong at home having secured a respectable draw against Dinamo Moscow in the Europa League and beating Hibs 3-0 already this season. Their squad has not changed too greatly from last term and they still possess the quality of Russell and Daly up front to bang in the goals. Dundee will be up for this game but i feel there is too big a gulf in class to overcome and i would expect Utd to win comfortably by at least a couple of goals.

  13. Re: Midweek > Divs 1-3 > 28-29 Feb Elgin v Clyde Elgin -1.5 AH 2.675 bet365 Looks like there is a bit of value in this price considering Elgin have won their last 4 home league games by 2 or more goals. Clyde on the other hand have not won away from home in their last 6 scoring 1 in the process. Last week these 2 met at Broadwood with Elgin coming out on top 2-1.

  14. Re: Scotland > Weekend > Scottish Cup > 7-8 January Dundee v Kilmarnock Kilmarnock to win 6/4 Coral I think there is great value with Killie for tomorrows lunchtime tie as there is a big gulf in class between the 2 sides. In last seasons cup Dundee had went 23 matches unbeaten going into the game and faced Motherwell who were performing very poorly at the time, Motherwell ran out comfortable 4-0 winners at Dens Park that day. Dundee are a far weaker side than they were this time last year and although their form has been pretty decent as of late i would fully expect Kilmarnock to have the beating of them. Kenny Shiels has said pre match that he would be unhappy with a replay and that the pitch should suit his sides style of play which suggests that they'll be going for the victory.

  15. Re: Scotland > Weekend > Clydesdale Bank Premier League > 10 December Dunfermline v Kilmarnock Kilmarnock to score over 1.5 goals 11/10 bet365 Kilmarnock to score over 2.5 goals 7/2 bet 365 Although Aberdeen are bottom of the SPL at the moment Dunfermline are the worst team in the league by quite a margin in my opinion. They are extremely poor defensively and apart from Cardle going forward they offer very little. Paul Gallagher is one of the poorer keepers in the league and their defence is slow/ division 1 standard. Their last 7 home games in the SPL have saw them conceding 22 goals in the process ( 4 v Motherwell, Rangers, 3 v Dundee Utd, ICT, Aberdeen, 2 v Hearts, Hibs). I don't see any indication that Saturday will be any different against a Kilmarnock side that have started to find a bit of form after being demolished by Inverness last month. They put 3 past Dunfermline in September at Rugby Park and they like to get the ball on the ground and play a good brand of football. I don't think Dunfermline will be able to cope with this and expect Kilmarnock to get at least a couple of goals.

  16. Re: Darts: Grand Slam of Darts 2011 Adrian Lewis v Phil Taylor Lewis to Win 10/3 skybet 10/3 looks excellent value on Lewis here. His double completion yesterday was 60% and if he scores like he can and hit his doubles well there is only one winner in this match for me. Lewis is the best in the business in my opinion when he is in full flow and he has shown glimpses of that form when averaging 109 against Stompe in the group stages. Taylor has played well so far and Nicholson could of pushed him if he took the first leg last night against the throw as Taylor looked rattled from Nicholson gining him the throw. Lewis has demolished Taylor twice in the Premier League so it can be done again but it won't be easy, he's got to be at the top of his game.

  17. Re: Darts: Grand Slam of Darts 2011 Chisnall v Pipe; Pipe to win 6/5 skybet If Pipe wins this match he will almost certainly be in the next round. He performed well on Saturday night against Jenkins and was unlucky not to beat Wade the following night. In past tournamnets in front of the tv cameras he has really struggled but he appears to have turned the corner, bringing his impressive form on the floor to the big stage. In Chisnall we have a Gary Anderson type player, tremendous at scoring but can be poor on the doubles. With very little hope for him progressing i don't really see him putting up much of a fight tonight. Pipe's slow style won't suit Chisnall's game and i would imagine this will put him off his stride allowing Pipe to take the victory.

  18. Re: Scotland: Premier League 5th/6th/7th November 3 out of the 5 times that Celtic have been involved in European action this season they have been beaten in their next game at the weekend (by St Johnstone, Rangers and Hearts). Sunday should prove a difficult test for Lennon and Celtic against a good footballing side. I reckon Motherwell will be treating this is an away game where we tend to play on the counter and that's worked wonders this season winning 5 out of 7 away fixtures. Our home form has been poor and we've struggled to score as teams have came to Fir Park and tried to sit in then hit us on the break, similar to our style but we've failed to find a plan B. I don't envisage this to be the case on Sunday as Celtic will be out to prove a point and look for a convincing win. Considering Celtics woeful defence i think we'll get plenty of opportunities on Sunday to hit them on the break and if our defence can hold firm we have a very good chance of victory. Motherwell to win 5/1 bet365

  19. Re: Scotland > Weekend > SPL > 15 Oct Hibernian v Motherwell Garry O'Connor Anytime Scorer 13/10 bet365 Motherwell face a tough test at Easter Road tomorrow against a Hibs side who have improved considerably over the last month. Hibs striker Garry O'Connor has been banging in the goals recently scoring in 4 out of 5 matches including a double at Fir Park in the league cup last month. I would expect him to be on the scoresheet again tomorrow up against a central defence partnership of Craigan and Clancy who struggled to cope with O'Connors presence a few weeks ago.

  20. Re: Scotland > Weekend > SPL > 30 Sept-2 Oct First post folks. I am a Motherwell fan and reckon that Dundee United are good value on Saturday to win. On our last three league visits to Tannadice we've been beaten 3-0,2-0 and 4-0 in May. Our recent form has been poor to say the least, although we beat Aberdeen on Saturday defensively we have looked very shaky and i would expect United to exploit our backline. United possess some pace going forward in Swanson and Russell, with our centre back pairing of Craigan and Clancy they should have a field day. Offensively we are pretty decent but our main striker Higdon won't win much in the air against Kenneth on Saturday so i don't see where the goals are going to come from for us. Tip; Bet Dundee United to win.
