Event Shakhtar vs Obolon Selection Obolon 0 (Asian-handicap) Strength 5/10 Date 09/04/2011 Bookmaker/Price Sportingbet @ 10.00 Reasoning hakhtar is placed number one in the league with little to go and a big 12 point advantage infront of Dynamo Kyiv while Obolon is 12`th and rather comfortable infront of relegation candidates. So both can play relaxed and give it all although Shakhtar could be under some immpression after the match against Barcelona. They were demolished but have themselves to blame for not scoring from great chances - not enough courage in young players. The players also said that they felt some tiredness after the game and hope they will recover till the Obolon match. They will be missing important Luiz Adriano and Willian but have enough replacements for them. The problem is that they have the return leg of Cl in a few days and I am certain they will wanna win although have no chances of eliminating Barca, so this could be a distraction. Obolon won the last game against Shakhtar and will not go down easily this time again. Obolon is much better at home but are not pushovers away - won 3 times against solid opponents - Vorskla, Metalurgs and Dinamo. As i have heard they are a young team much like Shakhtar ready to fight and attack so the hosts will have to serious in this duel but I am not sure how concentrated they will really be. Obolon has chances here. -

Event HAjduk vs Rijeka Selection Rijeka 0 (Asian-handicap) Strength 5/10 Date 02/04/2011 Bookmaker/Price Sportingbet @ 6.00 Reasoning Hajduk in a few games had luck with the results but last against Dinamo all came on the collection with a convincing 2-0 defeat and a poor play. Virtually they dropped out of the fight for the title with this defeat. In the last few home games Hajduk lost from the Czech Slavia on their anniversary, just drew with Inter and won against Split 3:1 in a match where al shots came in the net and Split was the better team for 70 minutes. Event Illichovets Mariupol vs Shakhtar Selection Illichovets Mariupol 0 (Asian-handicap) Strength 4/10 Date 01/04/2011 Bookmaker/Price Bwin @ 9.25 Reasoning Illichivets is positioned 13`th in the league with 5-7-10 and 33:50 goal difference. They are not good at home and have lost with big margins vs Metalurgs, Dnipro and some other teams, we could say they play better away with only 6 loses so far. Half of the Illichivets team consists of ex Shakhtar players and fore sure will give even more than they have got in this game. Illichivets is a very poor team and in normal circumstances they can`t touch Shakhtar and the stats show it – 0-1-9 in last ten games. But the circumstances are far from normal with Shakhtar playing the biggest game in history in a couple of days. I would say that there are some indications of this being a surprice game today: a lot of Shakhtar players played their national team games, Eduardo and Chygrynskyy injured and a couple of players will be rested, 12 point lead in the league with little games to go and ofcourse the Barca game in the CL. And as I can recall after the win in CL against Roma Shakhtar lost the domestic league away against also much weaker team. Brut force could prevail this time if Shakhtar is not concentrated enough. -
Event Independiente Medelin vs Once CAldas Selection Independiente Medelin -1.5 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 23/03/2011 Bookmaker/Price Bet365 @ 3.10 Reasoning Medelin which is placed 9`th in the league will play first placed Once Caldas in the third round of the Clolombian cup. Independiente is a very solid home team and really get most points at home while their away form is quite poor with 3 losses and a win in four games. And today they play the cup so if any players from that game even plays it will be very interesting to see how they deal with the fatique. These are the players that played in Paraguay: Martinez, Nunes, Calle, amaya, RAmirez, Fulla, Gonzales, Mejia, Carbonero, Moreno, Renteria. These players are called for the cup match: Jorge Lenis, Jhon Jario Rincón, Yedison Palacios, Williamson Córdoba, Alexis HenrÃquez, Luis Carlos Murillo, Diego Arango, VÃctor Córdoba, Roger Lemus, César Taján, Jéfferson Cuero, Johan Castaño, David Ãlvarez, Jerson Bonilla, VÃctor Ocampo and Brayan Contreras. The home side only has two changes from their last cup game and Daniel Garcia and Wilfred Grove will replace the suspended players. Event Villareal vs Leverkusen Selection Leverkusen Strength 10/10 Date 17/03/2011 Bookmaker/Price Expekt @ 3.25 Reasoning First match ended with a surprising 2:3 especially coz Villareal rarelly takes this EL matches seriously and usually plays good only at home. Leverkusen played like they were on vacation and I have rarely seen them making so many mistakes and lacking real agression in attack. They actually forced the defender Vida to create some actions on the flank and were lacking creativity also. Villareal actually didn`t play nothing special but exploited big defensive mistakes from Lever. It is not the first time that Leverkusen shows poor home games but are deffinetly one of the best away sides in Bundesliga besides Borussia. Villareal is not playing as strong at home as they did in the beging od domestic league and the last game against Gijon was a good example. The match ended wit a 1:1 draw although Villareal had 2 extra players on the field in second half. The latest home setbacks besides this one were a draw against Malaga and a loss against Levante. Lever has good chances to win this one. -

Event LIverpool vs Braga Selection Braga Strength 5/10 Date 17/03/2011 Bookmaker/Price Pinnacle Sports @ 9.00 Reasoning Braga won in first leg 1:0 after penalty and Liverpool has to show something if they are to qualify. I would say something more than against Sparta where it could have ended with a big surprice in the last minutes of the game. If Sparta could have hold for a draw most of the game than Braga has even more chances threw counters. Premier league has priority for Liverpool and an important game @ Sunderland could be a distraction. Suarez is out for Liverpool as is Gerard which is a big handicap in the creativity depertment so will have to go with brut strengt of Kuyt, CAroll, Moreiles to achieve a good result. Braga will definetly try counters as a primary weapon. Braga has been improving lately with 3/5 wins away in the league and a good performance @ Lech where they lost unfotunately although had all the chances. Therir domestic win over Benfica will also give a boost of confidence. Liverpool is not such a huge favorite and can lose this. -

Event Real vs Lyon Selection Lyon Strength 5/10 Date 16/03/2011 Bookmaker/Price 188bet @ 10.00 Reasoning So, we will see if Real can finally get past 1/8 finals after 6 years of dissapointment. Mourinho is on the bench and that is their biggest + this year even if they have some of the best players in the world. It was not enough in previous years and we will see if Mourinho can do magic this time aswell. They are dealing with the club that has been in the top of European football for a number of years and has usually done better than Real. In fact, in 7 of mutual meetings, Real had never won against Lyon which is something to think about. In these games Lyon has made an advantage in home games and just played for a draw away. They do not have such luxury this time and sooner or later will have to attack. It could be costly but they have the players like Lisando, Toulalan, Kallstrom, Gourcuff to do it right. If tradition is anything the odds on home win are greatly underestimating towards Lyon. Ronaldo is questionable to play but if he does, ofcourse Real has a big boost from the flank. Real is missing Pedro Leon, Gago, Higuain, Kaka while Lyon is mising Aly Cissokho and Bastos while Gourcuff, Cris, Ederson are doubtfull but will likely play. Lyon is doing better in domestic league lately but still conceding a lot of goals. If they wanna take something from here they have to keep it to a minimum. -

Event Manchester vs Marseille Selection Marseille Strength 5/10 Date 15/03/2011 Bookmaker/Price Pinnacle Sports @ 8.37 Reasoning The second leg of 1/8 finals of CL. The first one finished with a draw and not a very powerfull performance by any team. We all know that Manchester is unbeaten on home ground in 20 - something games but this is a competition everyone in last 16 can win(remember Porto some time ago) and 1 goal can make a huge difference. Marchester has shown some pathetic defending lately without Vidic and Ferdinand that cost them @ Liverpool and Chelsea. Vidic is back but we will see how he does with Smalling and O` Shea. Besides Vidic, Manchester has other players back threw injury(Nani, Valencia, ) and will have to prove that they are as capable as before injuries. Still they miss Ferdinand, Park, Owen, Anderson. Marseille has important Gignac and Valbuena back to strieghten the attack but miss Brandao and Azpilicueta. Marseille has shown some great away form and killer counter lately while they won last 4/5 away games. Even Ferguson has worries as was compeled to watch the last Marseille away games to prepare for this match. Marseille`s coach Deschamps is the last Marseille player to see his team win the CL some time ago and could just perform a miracle this time. If Marseille scores once it could be big trouble for ManU as they have not shown great games lately so will have to count on fantastic games from Berba and Ronnie. Big hazard bet. -

Event Hajduk vs Split Selection Split Strength 10/10 Date 12/03/2011 Bookmaker/Price 188bet @ 5.00 Reasoning Second city derby in Split this year that has a lot of riding on. Hajduk has to win to get somewhar near to Dinamo and Split to get closer to Hajduk on the table. Still, Hajduk is far ahead of Split. In the begining of the sason the citizens looked fondly on Split as a newcomer and were glad that they have another home team in HNL but now the tables have turned. Politically, RK Split has sided with the north and their dictator from Dinamo - Zdravko Mamić which did not sit well with most of Dalmacia as many see this as a betrayal. On the transfer plan, during the break, Hajduk had their sights set on ex Zenit player Ivica Križanac but everything fell apart as Križanac had some interesting demands in the contract. He wanted the club to give him special privileges to get himself drunk whenever he wanted with no questions asked. I quess this is something ordinary in Russia but was a dealbreaker for Hajduk. Interestingly, Split had no such problems and offered him a contract. Now he plays for Split. Some days ago was arrested and spend the night in jail for running over a couple of red lights, obviuosly he ment everyword in his contract. I think he will be extra motivated for this match and probably solber. Hajduk sold their best player Ibričić to Russia and one of the best Strinić to Ukraine so are miising a lot of creativity and penetration from the flanks. It was already shown in the celebratory game vs Slavia Prag which they lost 0:2, in home game vs Inter 0:0 and away at Zadar 0:2. They won that game but were not convincing at all. Split started the second part great with an away win over Slaven 1:2 and a home win 2:1 over Cibalia which shows how serious they are and a potential trouble for Hajduk. Split has 5 wins in 10 away games and are one of the best away teams. If Inter could hold a draw then chances are even better for Split. Split will be missing Juraj Grizelj and Goran Radnić while at Hajduk everybody is awailable. This will be very tough and every outcome is possible. -

So this team can be a lot more dangerous than the table shows, and it should show today. Job should be easier because the coach of the guests Igesund decided to ignore completely the Cup and focus on the championship. In fact, no player from the last match against Santos will play today at Maritzburg. The odds of 4.33 for handicap are very generous. -

Event Twente vs Zenit Selection Zenit 0 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 10/03/2011 Bookmaker/Price Pinnacle Sports @ 2.13 Reasoning Zenit destroyed everyone in their group and even when they didn`t have to. They should have been playing in CL this season. After the break they had some troubles with Yong Boys, obviously underestimating and maybe not totally fit. They did the job on their home ground with a 3:1 win after they lost 2:1 away. A problem for them are the missings of some excellent players: Bystrov, Gubochan, Semak, Bukharov, Lomberts but still have options in middfield and attack, defence will be tested. Twente won away at Kazan 0:2 and it was obvious that the hosts totally dropped in pace the last 20 minutes so Twente took what they were given. They had some problems at home vs Kazan as they were losing 0:2 but managed to level till the end. If they give the same to Zenit i think they will not be that lucky. Twente has their best player Ruiz out, Janko has a broken arm but will play. Now Zenit had some more weeks to prepare and become more threatening than Kazan here. Zenit is a stronger side here and they need to show it. -

Event Dynamo Kyiv vs Man.City Selection Dynamo Kyiv 0 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 10/03/2011 Bookmaker/Price Pinnacle Sports @ 1.81 Reasoning After a change of coach Dynamo has played much better in domestic league and especially in Europa league. They were much behind in the group but in the last couple of rounds have overtaken the opponents and won the group with some advantage. In the elimination phase have destroyed poor Besiktas away and at home with 8:1 which shows how much they wanna do well in this competition. Man. City play this competition to their abilities I would say. They have not won away in the group and also not in the first leg of the elimination game with Aris - it ended 0:0. They do their work at home where they feel comfortable and here will not feel that way. It will be cold, the ground not very firm and not suitable for a passing game. Kyiv know how to play at home and are unbeaten in last 6 Euro games. They have great attackers - Milevski, Shevchenko and Yarmolenko who are in great form so with the help of a great home crowd are capable of taking everything. Man City have Kolo toure suspended and Milner and De Jong out. Closer to home win but who knows, maybe draw. -

Event Brynas vs Farjestad Selection Farjestad Strength 10/10 Date 10/03/2011 Bookmaker/Price Gamebookers @ 2.15 Reasoning Farjestad finished the regular part of the season on third place with the same number of points as Skelleftea and HV 71. So now they play 6`th Brynas and lead allready by 1:0 in games. They demolished Brynas on home turf with 7:3. But this season Brynas has recruted some quality players and will not go without a figh this time. They have already beaten Farjestad 3 times this season, twice at home, although Farjestad has superior stats over the last couple of sesons. Still, Brynas has not won over Farjestad in the playoff in 21 years which gives me some confidence. Farjestad is the best away team with the best goalie and in the finish of the season made some good results with wins over Skelleftea and HV which show good form. Farjestad will be missing Patrick Lundh and Mattias Sjogren while the hosts have Jonas Nordquist, Jonathan Carlsson, goalie Nicklas Svedberg and Andreas Dackel out. Farjestad is the best team in powerplay, 3 in boxplay, Brynas is 5`th in powerplay and 8`th in boxplay. I think that the tradition will continue. -

Event Tottenham vs Milan Selection Tottenham -0.25 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 09/03/2011 Bookmaker/Price 188bet @ 2.07 Reasoning Reverse match of 1 / 8 finals between the pensioners and the novice. Tottenham is in his debut season, made a real job, went to the last 16 and left the impression that they can beat anyone. I often underestimate them draging parallels with last season and expect a larger or smaller decline in form but as how many missing players they have in the team and whoever they play, they play above expectations, at least mine. I will not underestimate them anymore, maybe that was the case with Milan in the first game, but I would not say. Milan leads Serie A with continuated space between the rivals and as a team to be respected, have played poorly against Tottenham. I do not know if they created more than 5 chances in the match. They had a period of perhaps 15 min. of a solid game but that is not enough. Tottenham had a few first team players out and I was expecting Milan`s pressure that did not come. Milan's defense really had to keep one player - Lennon, they failed and payed the toll. Now back in Tottenham are Van Der Vart, Bale and Defoe enters the form, generally a task twice as difficult for Milan. Tottenham is ready for major achievements, I think Milan is absorbed allready. I do not care who is playing / not playing for Milan because I do not believe that anyone will help them pass Tottenham. -

The latter is especially true to Barcelona. Barca played at the Emirates as much as they needed, at least they thought so, until they payed for it. I believe that everything could have been resolved in England. Barcelona in the last couple of seasons rarely won on the side and they rarely need it coz when they get home things are completely changed. Pressing starts from the beginning and does not stop, Messi rarely fails and if he is not scoring then he assists to Villa who scores so elegantly, it is imperative to score a goal more. When you still have Xavi and Iniesta, Clichy and Koscielny, who in my opinion are the weak links, will be greatly tested. Barca is missing important Puyol and Pique and here Busquets will be the weaker link that will Arshavin or Van Persie try to take advantage. Arsenal will miss a lot from Walcott with his pace as Arshavin is not in form, Persie may be insufficiently prepared, so Farbregas and Nasri will be the strongest hope for Arsenal. Arsenal was never very constant and in the domestic championship they show it. Last time Barca celebrated 4:1 and if so I would not be surprised. -

All games are accompanied with a good dose of goals. 2 weeks they had a change of coach and won 2 games in a row - Palestino and Tachira 0:3 and 2:4. Although they are not constant they still have a very strong attack so over here seems most likely. But that is not easy to forecast and i`m now going for a very attacking teams - AmaZulu and Wits. AmaZulu are located at 9 place while Bidvest at 6, the difference is 5 points. Bidvest had a good streak of 5 games without defeat till the game with Sundowns but continued on a great home-winning streak of 4, the last over Ajax. The guests also have a good offense, although not so strong. AmaZulu has 7 games without losing but 6 of those were drawn so that made no significant changes on the table. Färjestad at the second position and I think it suits them to avoid strange Djugarden in the playoffs. Therefore, they have to play as though as they can but the odds has them as the underdog in this match. The same situation was in the last guest appearance at Skellefta when they were also underestimated because of the absence of 4 important players and the first 2 goalkeepers. They beat the hosts 2-6, which are still first in the league and then had 9 wins in a row till then on their ice. So the form says that they are in series of 5 in a row which is of great importance. Not to mention that the they are the best guests with 17-10 and have 3 wins in a row away. Frolunda can cope with Färjestad and have crucial wins in the last 2 rounds but their continuity is not a strong point and defeats in the domestic ice from mediocre teams - AIK, a Brynas, Timra before the end says about it. Dragan Umicevic, Pavel Skrbek and Mika Pyörälä are absent for the hosts while the goalkeeper will be decided before the game. Färjestad has 4 players returning to the ice: Jonas Junland, Emil Kåberg, Sanny Lindstrom, and goalkeeper Alexander Salak, which is not 100% sure. They just miss Mattias Sjögren and Christopher Nihlstorp. Thus a good situation with the players Färjestad hadn`t had in a long time and I do not see why they would be the underdogs in this match. -

Event Hajduk vs Lech Poznan Selection Lech Poznan Strength 10/10 Date 07/02/2011 Bookmaker/Price Bwin @ 3.00 Reasoning The last friendly match for Hajduk in Turkey who has already played with Austria (draw) and Obolon(win). Considering they lost their best player Ibricic to Lokomotiv Moscow during the break they are playing quite good. This team is full of young and quite unexperienced player and their team captain is 19 year old Vukusic which says enough. Lech played one game (yesterday) against Steaua Bukurest and won 2:1 wilth goals from interesting Latvian players Rudnevs and Krivats. Lech is always one of the favorites in Polish league to win the championship and besides their interesting performances in Europa league I really don`t know much about them. Steaua, which they played, also played with the best Croatian team in recent years - Dinamo and remained unbeaten with the score 1:1 so i guess this shows Lech being on close level with our best teams. So the game should be level at the start but this time Hajduk has significant player problems - 7 of them are missing for todays clash, mostly first team players. Hrvoje Vejic has an ancle injury, Mario Brkljaca out for a while coz of knee injury, Franko AndrijaÅ¡ević, Mario Sačer, Ante VukuÅ¡ić, Dinko Trebotić and Goran Jozinović - all joining the U21 squad and their Albanian player Ervin Bulku also joining his nation team. So all things considered (really couldn`t find something interesting about Lech) odds of 3 on Lech are missleading. -
Event Universidad Catolica vs Audax Italiano Selection Audax Italiano Strength 10/10 Date 05/02/2011 Bookmaker/Price 10bet @ 4.80 Reasoning The season has just started but the odds are set like Catolica has 4 wins so far and Audax 4 losses. Indeed Catolica won away against Iquique and Audax lost at home to Palestino but the strenght of those oppostion is very different in class. Both Universidad and Audax still have good quality teams and have not changed a lot in ofseason, emphasis is still on attack as both have scored big in last season, Audax being a team with best attack. Audax counter attacking play has been great in last seasons vs Catolica as they have won 6 straight away games scoring 17 goals, very impressive. In first game vs Palestino Audax was missing 5 regulars but now 4 are back - Mauro Olivi, Lucas DomÃnguez, Omar Zalazar and Fabian Benitez. The hosts finnished first last season and Audax third but the history between them doesn`t suite the favorites so away DNB. -

Although Djugrden is a team that you never know how they gonna play they should be underdogs here, not level with Farjestad. Djugarden had a good position in the last away game at Skeleftea where they lead 3:1 but blew it all and lost in overtime 4:5.They also played some good away games lately - won over FArjestad in overtime but after that have 4 losses in a row. For Farjestad is better that they play away coz at home in the last 5 have 4 losses although have won the last one. Their away stats are the best in the league and now have 3 wins in a row conceding only one. Alexander Salak is the best goalie in the league and is showing his good form lately. Djugarden lost their two home games vs Farjestad while won away and Farjestad would like to give them the same treatment again. For Djugarden only Jimmie Ölvestad is injured while Farjestad has" Sanny Lindstrom (finger), Jonas Junland (ligaments) Oscar Klefbom and Mikael Johansenn out.
