  1. Re: Cricket: England vs Sri Lanka T20 International & ODI Series

Kevshat' date=' please, sir, I really need your input for this 4th ODI. I know you've said you'd like to wait until the day so I'll be checking back regularly for your views but I'd like to go into this one with very, very large stakes so your input is very critical! Thank you very much, Kevshat.[/quote'] Don't want to tell you what to do mate, but I would suggest this might not be the best game to go very, very large stakes. A few too many variables for me.... The result could be seriously affected by the weather England could make a few changes to their team and that could go either way England are going to be hurting from the p*ss taking that went on in the last game and we could see a response. However at the end of the day they still might not be good enough to do anything about it. Will wait myself to see what Kev comes up with, but IMO you will probably find better large staking opportunities elsewhere. A bit like Kevs shout on the 6's last night - that was a maximum bet for me and never in doubt. For me I might do a few in play bets tomorrow depending on the weather and the conditions. Although I don't want to give them my money back from this series so nothing that big. :ok
  2. Re: Cricket: England vs Sri Lanka T20 International & ODI Series I was out and about yesterday so I didn't get to post. Looks like another good day in here though so well done to all backers. You are right about it being embarrassing. I can't remember the last time I saw anything quite like that. Surprising thing for me is that Sri Lanka are still at Evens. I can't find any reason to move away from backing them again. Am I missing something here?? Maybe the conditions will favour England? Dilshan still hasn't come off in this series and I don't think that can continue. Chandimal will now be full of confidence while Jayawardene is just playing beautifully. I think Sri Lanka could have easily chased another 50 - 80 runs if required. While England are still getting bogged down in their scoring rate and without the white ball swinging don't look a very potent attack. The only real concern I have is that England are sure to be stung from the way Sri Lanka took the mick at the end of the match. We could see an England response, but my betting still has to come down to the fact I believe Sri Lanka are much the better side and I am again getting them at Evens.

  3. Re: Cricket: England vs Sri Lanka T20 International & ODI Series

Just had a search around and found a best price of 2.30. I'm happy to play this with medium stakes. 2nd ODI England v Sri Lanka - Sri Lanka Win @ 2.30 with Bet365 I think England played really well today and they coped with the conditions and the break in play much better than Sri Lanka. Whilst England played well, for whatever reason Sri Lanka never got going with all their top batsmen falling cheaply. I just don't see that happening again and at the current prices then for me Sri Lanka have got to be a decent value bet. I think SL are the better side here and I expect them to come back strong after today's heavy defeat. IMO England are still a long way from being a consistent one day side and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they followed today up with a poor performance.
Happy with that win, and a decent game of cricket. It's shaping up to be a competitive series and that should provide some more value opportunities on the betting front. I'm almost getting sick of saying it... but well done Kev some more good shouts. :ok
  4. Re: Cricket: England vs Sri Lanka T20 International & ODI Series

I think your analysis of the two teams is still bang on though and I will be looking to get on Sri Lanka for the next match. Hopefully after such a big win we might even get a juicy price for Sri Lanka??

  5. Re: Cricket: England vs Sri Lanka T20 International & ODI Series Unlucky Kev. One of those nights when nearly everything went England's way. I think your analysis of the two teams is still bang on though and I will be looking to get on Sri Lanka for the next match. Hopefully after such a big win we might even get a juicy price for Sri Lanka?? On a brighter note I see your Barath bet came in with a 3 :lol

  6. Re: U21 European Championship 2011

I didn't see the game at all' date=' but followed the stats, and had seen each side's first game. From the sound of it, it sounds as though in this game, Switzerland went 2-0 up, and then kept possession - you can't get corners if you don't have the ball. Usually teams who have a decent lead tend not to get many corners - if they take the ball down to the other teams' corner flag, they often like to keep it there, rather than get a corner - I think this is because keeping it in the corner is often a better way of denying the other team possession than winning a corner (where in most cases you give the ball to the other side).[/quote'] yeah, the Swiss kept the ball and it was very easy for them in the end. I was really disappointed with Iceland, but the Swiss are worth keeping an eye on. On reflection I think I liked the price too much and tried to make the bet fit it.
  7. Re: U21 European Championship 2011

Switzerland v Iceland over 10 corners 2.37 @ bet365 IMO we have the potential for plenty of corners towards the end of the match.
Couldn't have been more wrong with this. 5 corners in the 1st half and it looked like I was in with a shout... only 1 corner in the second half.
  8. Re: U21 European Championship 2011 Switzerland v Iceland over 10 corners 2.37 @ bet365 Looks like this has been a pretty disappointing thread so far, but hopefully now the first round of games are over we should see a bit more intent from the teams and fingers crossed some money can be made. Corners are a market I like to play quite often and I think this is too good a price to turn down and will play with medium stakes. It was @ 2.20 last night but I decided to do a bit more research before I took it. Iceland came through a tough qualifying campaign at the expense of Germany and I expect them to show a bit more tonight than they did in the first game. They are going to have to take the game to Switzerland which should result in large passages of play in the Swiss half giving us more chance of corners. They also like to shoot from distance and against a Swiss team who like to get men behind the ball I think this could also help towards the corner count. Iceland had 6 corners in their opening match Switzerland are a team who already have 3 points in the bag and I don't see them going to gung-ho. However in Shaqiri they have a player who will shoot on site and they also appear a decent side going forward. I think they can contribute a few corners in this match and help towards the over's. Switzerland had 5 corners in their opening match No matter what the result is in the latter stages of this game we should see at least one side pushing on - as the draw is no good for Iceland. Alternatively Switzerland if winning will be more than happy to run the clock down in the opposing third and could rack up a few corners in the process. IMO we have the potential for plenty of corners towards the end of the match. Corners can be a tricky market but IMO we have a few factors that can help towards the over's in this game and the price on offer makes it worth playing for me. GL 2 ALL

  9. Re: U21 European Championship 2011 England U21 v Spain U21 over 2.5 Goals @ 2.05 Bet365 I think we have a decent amount of attacking ability on display and I'm expecting goals in this. I think this is a fair price so will play with medium stakes. Spain have scored in their last 6 games and have gone over 3 out of these 6. Spain only keeping 2 clean sheets in these 6 games. England have scored in 5 out of their last 6 and have also gone over 3 out 6. England have kept 3 clean sheets in these 6 games. I'm also hoping this game will ignite the tournament as IMO it has been a pretty drab affair up until now. GL 2 ALL

  10. Re: CONCACAF Gold Cup: 5-25 June

MPLouis ' date=' maybe I'm wrong but I think that rain makes the field conditions unfavourable . It might not be the same as playing in perfect conditions and if conditions are not good then there should be less scoring , less scoring would make taking a + goal handicap more valuable . If you tell me weather will not be a factor here then I understand .[/quote'] You might well be right but I tend to go the other way and like to play the overs in wet conditions. IMO The ball zipps around off the surface, the defensive players can make slight mistakes which can lead to goals and you also get shots that can skid of the ground and deceive the keeper. Its just a personal thing though, but if I have played the overs I am pretty happy if we get wet conditions. :ok
  11. Re: Darts: Premier League Week 14

10pt Wade highest checkout v Jenkins 1.73 Corals Every week I have backed Jenkins matches to checkout Some great analysis on your bets there Gloryhunters so the best of luck for tonight. The Wade bet really stands out for me and I expect him to comfortably make the highest checkout in this match. However I was unable to get such a good price with only 1.61 available at PP, hills and Bet365. Like I said I expect Wade to get the highest checkout, but to try and squeeze a bit more value I have taken the following line which I think he should cover whilst making the highest checkout. Wade highest checkout over 104.5 @ 1.83 Paddy Power GL 2 ALL
  12. Re: UEFA Champions League > Barcelona v Real Madrid > Tues 3 May

Barcelona V Real Madrid under 6.5 cards @ 1.90 Bet365 Probably not a line that many people will be playing tonight but I think it represents some value and will play with small stakes. Barcelona just need to play their normal game and keep the ball, they don't need to go into any silly challenges and get involved in any possible sending offs. I think they will be aware of the bad press they got from the first leg regarding their play acting and will know that all eyes will be on them tonight. I don't think they will like their integrity being questioned and I expect them to be on their best behaviour tonight. Real Madrid are pretty much out of the tie and why they will be trying, I dont see them having the same intensity to their play. Especially if Barca score first and the tie is then really over. The referee is Frank De Bleecker and from what I can find out about him (frank-de-bleeckere stats)he doesn't seem to be one to flash the cards. IMO he will also be acutely aware of the bad blood between the teams and will be trying to get through the games with as little controversy as possible. People might think I am mad based on what has gone before, and it could all kick off within the first five minutes and this bet will be shot. However IMO because of what has gone before and the current situation of the match I expect this game to be an easier game to ref and less cards to be issued. GL 2 ALL
Closer than I would have liked in the end, but they all count :D Only 1 card in the 1st half and then 5 in the second. The ref could have sent Carvallho off about 3 times.
  13. Re: UEFA Champions League > Barcelona v Real Madrid > Tues 3 May

I'm going the other way on this match and plump for over 60 booking points @ 1.91 on Bluesquare. These teams hate each other' date=there is a lot of bad blood between them and I can see this being another tough game to referee. In the last 10 meetings of the two sides this bet would have won in 7 of them. Mourinho will be glad if one of his players gets another red (especially a dodgy one) as this will get him off the hook again when they go out. Both sides see themselves as the victim and blames the other team for the ill tempered first leg so I will be surprised if there is too much restraint.
I know what you are saying and I do have a concern about Madrid. If they are getting beat they may start kicking barca and then the cards will follow. Alot will depend on how the ref controls things with the first few tackles. For me its just one of those bets I fancied so I have to follow my gut.:D

  15. Re: UEFA Champions League > Real Madrid v Barcelona > Wednesday 27 April Real Madrid v Barcelona over 2.5 Goals @ 2.10 Bet365 Looks like a few people are taking this now so will try not to replicate what many people have already said. Main Points For me far too many good attacking players on show for these games to keep going under. The changes to the defences on both sides should make them weaker and I fancy the attacks to be on top tonight. Barca as the away side only know one way to play so you wont have to worry about Barca sitting back and not contributing to the game. If the 1st leg was being played at Barca I wouldn't be taking the overs as I would expect Madrid to go and shut up shop. The main reason I am taking the overs tonight though is how Mourinho defeated Barca when with Inter. They won the first leg 3-1 and then put in the defensive performance in the second leg. I am expecting Mourinho to try and do something similar again tonight. GL 2 ALL

  16. Re: Darts: Premier League Week 10

Just the one for me at the minute. Going to sleep on another I think. 4pts G.Anderson (-3 legs - with tie) to beat M.Webster 5/4 Skybet
Another great shout. Just like your tip for Taylor last week was never in doubt after the first couple of legs. Your shouts are almost making up for my bad calls. :clap Roll on next week.
  17. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 13 April

Its quite negative (and quite a thin argument i admit)' date=' but surely [b']they would find it difficult to be really up for it, against the team who just beat them 4-0, with slim chance of actually qualifying?
Just a little warning about using this sort of reasoning for backing against a side. This is something I used to do a lot but found out that quite often when a team has little to play for they can produce some of their best performances. They are under no real pressure and just go out and play with a freedom they don't normally enjoy. You only have to look to the weekend to find a decent example of this, Everton had nothing to play for against a Wolves side who had everything to play for. Everton won 3-0 and played some great stuff. I put this down to the fact the pressure wasn't there as it was on Wolves and they simply went out and played football. I wont actually been taking anything in this match but just wanted to add this, as I got burned a few times when I thought a side had "nothing to play for" :ok
  18. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 6 April

Because it'll be played at to a very familiar style of play' date=' and Chelsea know they can beat United home or away. [b']Both sides are extremely familiar with eachother. Of course United will be confident of scoring tonight, but at the same time conceding a first leg deficit isn't ideal for United. All the talk from Fergie has been about getting an away goal, but I'm not so sure it'll be that easy to put that into reality, and the first leg could turn into a bit of a cagey affair.
Fair enough. I do agree with your reasoning to a point but I think this is a reason to go the other way and see the value in overs. Based on the familiarity of the two sides with each other, I'm expecting a more English style affair with both teams going for goals. While I dont expect either side to go gung ho from the off. I do expect United to push on for the away goal and likewise I think Chelsea will be desperate for a lead to take to Old Trafford. Although judging by most of the posts I am in the minority in this view, but I have put my money down and will take my chance on the overs.:ok
