  1. Due to increasing workload on me, I am not able to follow Turkish Lig matches closely these days. No doubt, Basaksehir is clear favorites, but Aykut Kocaman's Konyaspor is always capable of making things ugly with 10 men defensive approach. To be honest, Basaksehir to win to nil is better choise than HT/FT.

Meanwhile, I think Trabzonspor will win against Denizlispor fairly easily as well. Over goals options are also on the cards. Good luck!

  2. Yes, reputation is an important factor. But, what you saw in this weekend was a quiet different thing. As far as I can see there are some inside problems within the Galatasaray team, betweeen the coach Fatih Terim and administration. The team is formless for weeks, and adding to these first striker Falcao, second one Andone, goalkeeper Muslera and key defender Luyindama was missing, No surprise, Basaksehir won the game.

Of course, Basaksehir is quite a good team, and they are consistant forcing the title for years as mentioned. However, the main problem of the club is having lack of fans. Very few fans are supporting Basaksehir even in their home stadium. Sivasspor and Alanyaspor are also doing well this season.

Honestly, I dont think any club other than Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, Besiktas and Trabzonspor will win the championship. Fans and media power are factors. If any team others than these 4 will be champions, this would be Basaksehir, not Sivasspor neither Alanyaspor.

  3. Fenerbahce important missings : Emre Belozoglu, Max Kruse

Kasimpasaspor important missings: David Pavelka, Mame Thiam, Ricardo Quaresma, Veysel Sarı, Ramazan Kose

Last week, Fenerbahce lost to Kayserispor 1-0 on road. However, Fenerbahce totally dominated, 23 goal attempts with 11 shoots on target and two posts. I would surely have advised to bet on Fenerbahce last week since I thought that kind of domination before the match and lost :)

Emre Belozoglu is a key player. Max Kruse is very important as well for creativity and assists. Keeping these factors in mind, I still think that Fenerbahce will bounce and get a clear victory in their home stadium. Fenerbahce handicap -1 is my bet today.

Please dont get me mad if Fenerbahce loses again like last week :)

It's a fair price and I'd even be tempted to back a -1 handicap for added spice. @black_baar is our resident Turkish expert so he'd have a better idea of what potential threat Trabzonspor pose.

Sorry, I saw it too late. Apart from the long time injuries like Abdulkadir Omur and Caleb Ekuan, Sturridge, Mikel, Sosa are added to injury list. Also regular starters like Sorloth, Nwakame, Novak and even goalkeeper Ugurcan are benched for this match. All mentioned bets are fine. Unlike Galatasaray yesterday, Trabzonspor players would have some fighting spirit at least on the pitch.

  5. Yeah, some interestin results in the Turkish Super Lig yet again proving it is one of the most difficult leagues to bet on.

Antalyaspor's win in Istanbul was a total surprise for me like Goztepe's 4-0 score over Kayserispor. I was expecting Malatyaspor and Konyaspor getting results, but not that convincingly.

For todays games, Sivasspor will probably win but the odds are not worth to bet, like Dever Orgill can cause upset to home team. Possible lineups :Sivasspor: Samassa, Goiano, Appindangoye, Caner Osmanpaşa, Uğur Çiftçi, Traore, Hakan Arslan, Mert Hakan Yandaş, Erdoğan Yeşilyurt, Fernando, Yatabare. Ankaragücü: Korcan, Kitsiou, Kulusic, Pazdan, Tiago Pinto, Moke, Faty, Hasan Kaya, Sedat Ağçay, İlhan Parlak, Dever Orgill.

Besiktas is having hard times in Super Lig this season and welcoming leader Alanyaspor today. I feel another upset for Besiktas today. Papiss Cisse is on fire for visitors. Possible lineups: BEŞİKTAŞ: Karius, Douglas, Vida, Ruiz, Caner, Atiba, Dorukhan, Ljajic, Diaby, N'Koudou, Burak Yılmaz. ALANYASPOR: Marafona, Baiano, Welinton, Caulker, N'Sakala, Siopis, Ceyhun, Efecan, Bakesetas, Fernandes, Cisse.

I have nothing to add for Rizespor-Trabzonspor Match, Stevie's choices are reasonable.

I am dissappointed by the Gazişehir last week against Goztepe.  With the increasing form of Basaksehir, I like to try Basaksehir win around 2.35 odds.

  6. Yeah, goztepe seems to be improved lately. Late transfer Mossoro fitted very well to the team. I wouldnt expect his contribution to the team so well this early. Their last win over Konyaspor at their home stadium with 10 players counts. However, their win against Yozgatspor at the cup game doesnt mean anything since the quality difference with lower league teams are quite high.

I see the improvement of Gaziantep team much more reliable than Goztepe's. The team is more compact now than it was at Fenerbahce's match. With the home side advantage, I see Gaziantep's chance better than Goztepe. Odds around 2.55 for home team represents value in my opinion.

  7. Galatasaray - Fenerbahce match will be a very tough and tense match. Red card is probable. Isla will be back and probably play. However, Left back and centre back will be still problematic for Fenerbahce. Rodrigues wont play. Tolga Cigerci(central midfielder) may play as a left winger instead. May be Victor Moses who is newly recovered from injury.

Younes Belhanda is injured for Galatsaray, but he may play with a special mask.

With home side advantage and missings for Fenerbahce, Galatasaray's chance of winning is more probable. However, it is big derby and anything can happen.

    Besiktas vs Istanbul Basaksehir

The Turkish Super Lig action continues into Monday night and one game that stands out from the whole weekend fixture list is this clash between Besiktas and Istanbul Basaksehir at Vodafone Park in a 6pm BST kick-off. Neither side will be happy with their start to the season as they both loiter in and around the relegation zone so a win here has more importance than ever before.

Besiktas have experienced some problems this season, as has been pointed out in here, and Senol Guines sees his men sitting in 14th place with 1 win, 1 draw, and 2 losses from their 4 league games so far. It seems ridiculous that a team packed with big names such as Loris Karius, Douglas, Domagoj Vida, Oguzhan Ozyakup, Mohamed Elneny, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, and Burak Yilmaz are struggling so badly. Their home form is better than their away form so is this a game where they should be backed? Or is the draw more likely?

Istanbul Basaksehir find themselves in an even more ominous position than Besiktas. Okan Buruk's men are in 16th place with just Kayserispor and Genclerbirligi sat below them. 1 win, 1 draw, and 2 defeats for them. It seems a world away from the side that finished 2nd in the league last season. Can they get something from this game to move on up the table and ignite their challenge for a European place finish?

I really can't call this one. I'm sure @black_baar will warn me against backing Besiktas to get anything here but I feel we have two big clubs severely under-achieving. I don't think either would bemoan a draw. This is simply a game neither side wants to lose. I'm thinking 1-1 draw seems like the best bet and I wonder what impact this game will have on their season over the next few weeks.

    Draw @ 3.60 with Bet365

BTTS @ 1.67 with William Hill

    Good job!

  9. Well, first of all, Senol Gunes is no longer Besiktas coach. He is coaching Turkish national team right now. Besiktas's coach is Abdullah Avci(ex Basaksehir coach?)

Not only in Turkish super league, but also in Europe League both teams started very bad. Besiktas lost to Slovan Bratislava 4-2, whereas Basaksehir lost to Roma 4-0.

Mohamed Elneny and Domagoj Vida cannot play(red card). Victor Ruiz and Enzo Roco are injured. Burak Yilmaz may play in this game first time this season after a long injury.

At Basaksehir Eljero Elia is injured.

    Expected lineups

Besiktas: Karius, Gokhan Gonul, Atiba Hutchinson, Necip Uysal, Caner Erkin, Oguzhan Ozyakup, Dorukhan, Diaby, Adem Llajic, Nkoudou, Burak Yılmaz(Güven)

Basaksehir: Mert Gunok, Caiçara, Skrtel, Epureanu, Clichy, Mehmet Topal, Mahmut Tekdemir, Edin Visca, Irfan Can, Arda Turan, Crivelli

Besiktas is under stress for this game at their home stadium. Fans are angry. Their missings in the defensive line is cruical. Draw is likely.

  10. Goztepe is the only team that has never score a single goal in the first 4 weeks. To strengthen their forward line, they transfered Mossoro and Napoleoni from Basaksehir just before the transfer season ends.

I hate the way Konyaspor plays. They play very defensively. However, they get results and 6 points. Their results up to now:

    Konyaspor 0-0 Ankaragucu

    Galatasaray 1-1 Konyaspor

Konyaspor 2-2 Antalyaspor ( I recommended under 2.5 goals in that match? lol )

    Denizlispor 0-1 Konyaspor

    Possible lineups

Göztepe: Beto, Gassama, Alpaslan, Titi, Berkan, Poko, Soner, Halil, Mossoro, Serdar, Napoleoni

Konyaspor: Serkan, Skubic, Anicic, Ali, Alper, Jevtovic, Jonsson, Ömer Ali, Milosevic, Miya, Bajic

Although there is a possibility that nonscoring team Goztepe may risk a lot in this match, under 2.5 goals is again quite reasonable. I also think that it is too early for Mossoro and Napoleoni to improve the team. Konyaspor X2 double chance is playable as well.

  11. At Trabzonspor match, Fenerbahce played great in the first 25 minutes. I reccomended overs in that match. Overs should have come by the first 25 minutes. However, the match has finished 1-1. Two posts for Fenerbahce and 1 for Trabzonspor. Trabzonspor's goalkeeper Ugurcan was the man of the match with great saves.

You are right about how far can Alanyaspor go through the season is a big questionmark. However, 9 points they got so far was very well deserved. They defend well and attack fast.

Fenerbahce boosted this year with the new players Vedat Muriqi, Emre Belozoglu, Max Kruse, Ozan Tufan, Garry Rodriguez. Defensive problems still remains same since right back Mauricia Isla and left back Hasan Ali Kaldırım are still injured. But the biggest blow for tonights match is the injury of veteran Emre Belozoglu. Although he is 39 years old, he plays very well and boosted Fenerbahce's game plan offensively. Newcomer brazilian  Gustavo Dias will play instead. His defensive contribution to the team will be very decisive tonight.

All in all, I expect a very tough match tonight in a very hot and humid Antalya.

    Fenerbahce vs Trabzonspor

The league leaders are in action at 7:45pm BST on Sunday night against Trabzonspor at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul. Both teams remain unbeaten after two league games so far and they'll both feel they can come into this game and take all three points. The hosts are understandably the favourites but it's far from a given against a side that only missed out on the title by 6 points last season.

Fenerbahce have won their two league games so far. Ersun Yanal's side don't have the distraction of Europe this season so they're free to focus on their domestic campaign. It's a situation that has seen the club win 5-0 against Gazisehir Gaziantep on the opening weekend and then followed it up with a last gasp 2-1 victory against Istanbul Basaksehir which showed the character of this side.

Trabzonspor started this league season well with a 2-1 win against Yeni Malatyaspor and a 1-1 draw away to Kasimpasa. The decent squad morale from league performances was further boosted by the club knocking out Greek Super League side AEK Athens on away goals after a 3-3 draw in the Europa League Play-Off Round. The club did suffer a 2-0 loss on the night which will be a slight concern but they won't dwell on that too long.

For me, this is Fenerbahce's game to lose. Trabzonspor could be a tricky challenge with the feel-good factor around the club after their European exploits in midweek. I just feel this Fenerbahce side are in great form right now and on home territory they'll be tough to take points off. I can not only see them winning this game but even possibly getting the victory by a couple of goals.

Nice preview Stevie. Odds are not the best, however I would reccommend overs and both to score in this match. Matches in Fenerbahce stadium will be very entertaining this year I guess.

    Besiktas vs Rizespor

OK, so after finding myself short on time due to the bank holiday weekend last week I'm treating you to two previews in this league this week. The first one up is 7:45pm BST kick-off this Saturday night between Besiktas and Rizespor at Vodafone Park in Istanbul. It's a shock to think that the away side come here in the better form and will be hoping they can continue their winning start to the season.

Besiktas have long been one of the big guns in Turkish football but the pressure is already on Abdullah Avci's side after they lost 3-0 away to Sivasspor. It means that the club is left languishing in 8th place and already 3 points behind their title rivals. The positive news is that Besiktas destroyed Goztepe 3-0 at home so it's been quite a hit and miss start to the campaign for the Black Eagles.

Rizespor couldn't have wished for a much better start to the campaign. Ismail Kartal has seen his team win both of their league games. A 2-1 win over Sivasspor and a hard-fought 1-0 victory away to Genclerbirligi have led them to 4th in the table and only off the top of the table pace on goal difference. This will be an entirely new challenge for the side as they look to make it three wins out of three.

I appreciate that Besiktas have had an inconsistent start to the season but at home they are still a dominant force. It's 7 wins in a row in the Super Lig for Besiktas on home turf and they've not lost a home league game since 11th November, 2018 in what was a 2-1 loss to Sivasspor. I'm fully expecting Besiktas to continue their winning run here with a solid victory.

    Besiktas -1 @ 2.60 with Paddy Power

    Besiktas HT/FT @ 2.50 with Coral

@black_baar what do you think of this week's games? Keen to hear your Turkish expertise.

Besiktas is also struggling like Galatasaray. Last week they won 3-0 against Goztepe at home. But this result may mislead us since Goztepe is the worst team of the league by the two weeks. They have just been avoided from relegation last season(they had a penalty at the last minutes of their last match and avoided from relegation).

I like Rizespor. They started well this season. They have good players like  Joseph Attamah, Dario Melnjak, Braian Samudio and Fernando Boldrin. I think their weakest part is their forward Muastapha El Kabir. They are looking for another forward before the transfer season ends. If they had a better forward I would oppose you with your bets. Anyways, good luck.

  14. As I have mentioned here before, Konyaspor is one of the most defensive team in this league. First week Konyaspor 0-0 Ankaragücü, second week Galatasaray 1-1 Konyaspor. As seen they kept Galatasaray just 1 goal at Istanbul.

They hosts another defensive team Antalyaspor. 1st and 2nd week results of Antalyaspor : Goztepe 0-1 Antalyaspor, Antalyaspor 0-2 Denizlispor. Former centre back Bulent Korkmaz is coaching Antalyaspor. His defensive mentality is in all over the team. Odds dropped much, statistically this match should go under 2.5 as well

Two weeks passed, and former champion Galatasaray still has 1 point. As far as I can see, the replacements for Fernando Reges, Henri Onyekuru and Badou Ndiaye is not performing well. Nzonzi, Jean Micheal Seri, Ryan Babel, Jimmy Durmaz and Emre Mor are newcomers. Yet, they have still Belhanda, Feghouli and Babel and these players can cause problems any time. Diagne is a big dissappointment in forward and Galatasaray fans are desparetely waiting for Falcao to be transfered. Seri is not playing today(red card)

Kayserispor signed Adebayor this week and he is expected to start in the starting eleven. I didnt watch Kayserispor this year.

It is a must win game for Galatasaray and Galatasaray traditionally wins at Kayseri (they won last 4 matches at Kayseri). I feel it would be harder for Galatasaray today. If I have a bet in this match, I would try Kayserispor +0.5

Galatasaray won at 90+8 mins. 3 red cards for Kayserispor, 1 for Galatasaray.

20 minutes to go for todays matches. I dont have time for a preview. I think Kasimpasa will win against Ankaragücü today. I liked Kasimpasa at home in the first week against Trabzonspor. If they play that level today, it should be a win for them against Ankaragucu.

this is the 3 minutes summary of the match. 3 posts for Kasimpasa. They were very unlucky. Anyways they shouldnt have lost this poor Ankaragucu.
