GiCiro, the only reason I stopped was because I wasn't sure how much longer I could keep maintaining a profit. I generally wanted to acheive double the price of the basic home win using 5-6 correct scores. So if I could turn a 1.33 shot into a 1.66 shot using correct scores, (including Any Unquoted markets on betfair) then it was a selection. However, I was still unsure as to WHICH SCORES to use. i.e should I select 1-0 2-0 3-0 2-1 3-1 OR 1-0 2-0 3-0 4-0 5-0 OR 2-0 3-0 Any Unquoted etc.... It basically boiled down to whether on not I thought the opponent had the abillity to score and this was a huge factor for the system - this was a choice I had to make for every game, not something that was chosen for me by a set of rules. I basically thought I'd got lucky enough times and decided to quit while I was ahead. Best of luck Danny

Wouldn't go down well in my house, that's for sure. I'd say nothing till it was over, and then only if I won. I'd get bollocked for putting the bet on EVEN IF IT WON!!! "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING etc etc etc ...." !!!! "WHAT IF THEY'D LOST etc etc etc ....." !!!! That's the trouble with women, they see the amount you've just risked as a new washing machine/outfit.

  6. Re: Ring tables or tournaments? Philossify. Yes, the hourly rate doens't bother me too much believe it or not. I'm playing one game at a time and each game lasts no more than an hour so at worst it's £2.70 an hour as you say. I'm happy that there is at least some sort of profit being made really!! Going back to my original question though, if I was playing 50p/£1 LIMIT ring tables aiming for £1 per hour or THE BIG BLIND per hour, I'm better off doing what I'm doing now aren't I? Even though the hourly rate is less than £3 an hour it's still better than what the pro's suggest!!!??? And there is the added bonus of knowing the most I can lose in one game/hour is only £5 (+50p) Let's face it - NL poker is a cracking game and I'll admit I think about it all the time and play as often as I can. Keeping track of these £5 games is teaching me to be disciplined and focussed especially as I'm posting my records on this thread! I may consider going up to £10 games at the end of this run, but if I'm making £100 - £200 a month (100 games) why change the stakes? It's early days yet, and there is of course a chance it could all go wrong. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again for your input and good luck.

Re: Danny Cash +2.5 selections 2005/06 Yes jtw1, Colchester did their bit in as much as score the away goal needed, however MKD failed to take advantage of the opposition's keeper being sent off. The cogs are not turning fluently yet with this system but again I put that down to a lack of recent data to work from. The return after commission was not worth recording as a profit so I'm still 20 units down on the season.

I shall take your advice on board although I'm focussing 100% on my latest project, £5 STT's. Yes, I also take notes on players, (I only play on Betfair) and find that when I do bump into these players it does help a great deal. Of course playing at the same stake/level and site time and time again will increase the frequency of meeting these noted players. I've just finished my 50th game (started 1st August) and here are the results so far. I'm fairly happy as my target for 100 games was £100 - £200 profit, so I'm "on target" with 50 games to play. Games played = 50 Games won = 8 (16%) Games finished second = 8 (16%) Games finished third = 9 (18%) Total games placed = 25 (50%) Total invested £275.00 Total profit £135.00 Return on Investment 49.09% My username is 4thagain so I might see you on the tables soon :D Cheers Danny

MKD v COLCHESTER 3pm MKD this season at home have drawn 2-2 and last 4 homes from last season...2-1, 1-2, 1-1 and 1-1. They seem to be capable of bagging at least 1 goal at home. Colchester this season have lost 2-1 away and their last 4 away matches read 1-1, 2-2, 1-1 and 0-3. More than capable of scoring on their travels. I'll be taking the prices on betfair this weekend +2.5 £17 @ 1.99 correct score 1-1 £3 @ 7.00 Fingers crossed as always...

Philossify: making about a £100 per week nowadays playing 20 hours of "value" MTT tournaments - its hard work! Wow! - that is impressive, missed that quote first time round. I could pay off most of my debts with a consistent record like that. Philossify, what do you class as "value" MTT tournaments, where do you play and how much generally do you enter for? Thanks Danny
