  1. I totally agree, it's an awful idea. Only 2 places to go up and the team that finishes 7th could possibly have one of them? And the way it works with the disadvantage to the team that finishes 2nd is ridiculous. If they are going to have it, it should be done so the 2nd place team is guaranteed to play the lowest placed winner from the 1st games, not set in stone that they place 4th or 7th. I'm very glad we're out of it!
  2. I think there will be a few goals tonight, and I can see Dagenham winning. So everyone should get their money on 1-0 Forest Green...
  3. For Tranmere to get promoted they will have to do something they haven't done all season, and that's beat one of the top 5 teams in the league. They have just 3 points out of 24 against those who came in the top five. I'll be backing Aldershot tomorrow night, and to qualify.
  4. I didn't go down there, but sounds like Maidstone could easily had 5 and Lincoln 10!
  5. Danny Cowley has confirmed today there will be changes for tomorrow night. Keeper Paul Farman and left back Sam Habergham are out for last two games. And the back ups for those have only played 1 trophy game each in the last 6 weeks and neither was great in either of those.
  6. Maidstone at 2/1 against us is a ridiculous price. We've got results despite the tiredness the last few games, and some of the players are definately in need of a rest. And I saw first hand on Saturday night that they weren't sat with their feet up preparing for yet another game! The job is done now, and I'm not sure how up for a trip all the way to Kent on a plastic pitch the Lincoln players are going to be. And that's before you even look at Maidstone current form. I'm shocked they're that big.
  7. I've never been happier to be wrong! It's ours to throw away now. I wouldn't fancy the play offs, especially psychologically having been top for pretty much the entire 2017, but after tonight you'd hope we don't throw this away.
  8. I really hope I'm wrong, but I think Tranmere at evens is a great price. They are in brilliant form, and even when they don't play great they get a massive slice of luck or late winner from somewhere. They must feel invincible at the moment. Forest Green just aren't at it, and I can't see Mark Cooper getting them up for anything at all.
  9. I can't say I'm feeling massively confident. We were poor on Tuesday at Boreham Wood, looked toothless, and one or two of the loan players looks like they didn't want to be there. We've got Harry Anderson back on loan from Peterborough for the rest of the season, which is a plus as he was a good player for us in the first half of the season. I'm hope he might spark a bit of life into our play going forward. Forest Green haven't impressed me at any point this season, and the fact that it's a massive game, and we've won almost all those we've had all season, so I'm hoping more than expecting that we'll put it right tomorrow.
  10. Well the incident he mentioned was Jon Parkin flying in two footed, which thankfully he missed contact as if he did make contact there would have been one of the worst injuries I've ever seen on a football pitch. Both games we'd played them in the last month before today I'm baffled how he was still on the pitch. As for today, I'm so angry. The videos are there for everyone to see.
  11. Lincoln made 9 changes for the 1st leg against York on Tuesday night. And despite that we could have been 3 or 4 up at half time such was the dominance. Second half fair play to York, they came out for the first 30 minutes a different side, and although both goals had an element of luck, they could have had a couple more too. But Lincoln ended the game stronger and should have had a dead cert of a penalty, as well as having a few decent chances to level it up. The referee on Tuesday was extremely poor, and how York ended the game with 11 men, never mind just the 2 yellows they got, I have no idea. The referee today should be better as he's a football league referee, so I'm hopefully York won't get away with the same tactics they've employed in the last 2 games against us. But if they do, these are the teams we've struggled against this season, the aggressive, bullying, borderline cheating kind of side. I expect 6 changes from us today, strengthening the side, and whilst I've no interest in betting on the game, we are still favourites to go through in my eyes.
  12. Yeah very pleased, and Tranmere losing was a bonus! Now we can enjoy Saturday!
  13. For me tomorrow night is the biggest night of the season so far for Lincoln's title hopes. It's a three horse race for the title now, and after tomorrow Lincoln and Tranmere could be level, or there could be a 6 point gap. Looking at Tranmere's upcoming fixtures, you can't really see where they are going to slip up anytime soon after the trip to Barrow is out of the way, so the pressure on Lincoln to win at Braintree before having 2 weeks without a League fixture is immense. Lincoln have won the last 10 meetings again Braintree, and Evens usually would definitely be getting some of my cash going on it. However with the pressure on the game, and the fact that the goals seemed to have dried up in recent weeks (despite only conceding 1 goal in the last 5 games), i'll be keeping my money in my wallet. I wouldn't tell anyone not to back us, but it's not a certainty at all that we'll win. On the plus side, we have signed Lee Angol today, and also with the re-signing of Jonny Margetts last week, hopefully we can start scoring again very soon.
  14. No, I assume Boreham Wood haven't agreed. Replay is the last thing we need, I'd rather us just kick it in our own net in injury time if needs must!
  15. We'll be making plenty of changes again at the weekend, but even with 6-7 changes in the Trophy so far we've looked good. I wouldn't tell you not to back us, but I wouldn't be taking it personally. We certainly won't be going there to draw with the horrendous amount of games we've now got to play in the next 2 months!
