  1. Re: Cricket: Friends Life t20 Well done kev some top work! I'm intrigued as to whether totesport voided your total sixes match bet? I'm having a row with William hill who have settled the total match day sixes bet as a loser. Now you may remember, kev, helping me out with some advice regarding an unders match boundaries bet in an england odi which was voided after a mere 2 overs were lost but had no effect on the outcome! The end conclusion was William hill were right to void the bet, which I reluctantly put down to experience! I'm now flabbergasted that the exact opposite has happened - I too backed an overs bet , expecting a total of 120 overs to take place , instead 25.1 overs were lost ddue to bad weather ad the bet has resulted in being classed as a loser!!! They can't have it both ways - I am so saddened by this blatant double standards in their favour - can anyone help? Please!

  2. Re: Cricket: ICC World Cup 2011 Just taken Smith @ 8/1 hussey @14/1and krezja @ 5/1 basically stake a combined 9.68 points and if any of them are top Aussie bowler, there will be a win of about 27.4 points! Worth a punt at those odds on an extremely dry wicket, where the spinners will be utilised!

  3. Re: Cricket - Top batsmen and bowlers Australia v Sri lanka top bats d. Hussey 9/1 - 3 points @ unibet M.jayawardene 9/2 - 3points @ Bet365 a.Matthews 199/1 - 1 point @ unibet bowlers krezja 11/2 - 3 points @ bet 365 on this wicket I feel that players lower down the order may get their cahnce to shine! Hussey is waiting to explode and mathhews' odds are simply ridiculous! Jayawardene is in great touch and will play spin and pace equally well! Only krezja so far for bowlers - his attacking spin will troubly the batmsen on this wicket.

  4. Re: Cricket - Top batsmen and bowlers Windies v Bangladesh This is a home match for Bangladesh and it is expected to be a low, turning wicket. If so it could well strangle the Windies batsmen and restrict their scoring. For this reason I'm going to back Sarwan as he has looked in good touch recently and his style suits both the wicket and the bowling. No Bangladesh bowler qualifies. This wicket will unlikley suit Kemar Roach and therefore I have to back Windies' best spin bowler S.Benn who bowled beautifully to take 3 wickets in the previous match. Sarwan 2.5 points @ 5/1 bet365 Hasan 2.5 points @ 7/1 bet365 Benn 2.5 points @ 7/2 bluesq

  5. Re: Cricket - Top batsmen and bowlers N.Zealand v Zimbabwe I think this will be a close game. Zimbabwe's spin bowlers will have a pitch to suit them and I feel they could strangle the power hitting of NZ. Taylor gets another selection and I feel he will hang in and allow NZ to build an innings around him. No zimbabwe batsman qualifies. For the bowlers I really rate Utseya and can see him troubling the NZ batsmen with his dangerous and economical spin bowling. Conversely Bennet has been in superb form for the NZ team and his extra pace could really trouble the zim batsmen. Taylor 11/2 -2.5 points Sporting bet Bennet 7/2 Sportingbet -2.5 points Utseya 4/1 sportingbet 2.5 points

  6. Re: Cricket - Top batsmen and bowlers Cheers Big Mac, not totally warranted after todays disaster! 8 losses-is unheard of for this system since I've been doing it! A couple of close calls with Surkari coming second at 8/1 and Balaji bowling well; but overall a terrible day! Still, let's change this around! One personal preference for tomorrow is some matches that are not so one-sided on paper! This for me is a positive!

  7. Re: Anytime Goalscorers, 2010/11 Version Great work buddy - I like your style! This is a well thought out system. On a separate note, I see you have selected Nardiello a few times fir Exeter ; as an Exeter fan I agree the boy is a superb finisher, however his knees are a mess and he only seems to play last 20 minutes of games recently - this makes his stats look even more impressive when u consider his goals to minutes played ratio. Just wanted to let you know in case he qualifies in future, as I know it puts me off backing him to score anytime ! Keep up the good work ;)

  8. Re: Cricket - Top batsmen and bowlers South Africa v Netherlands The wicket is expected to be pacy and will suit the SA attack down to a tea, conversely it will be exactly what the Netherlands would rather avoid. Steyn's odds are short Morkel will upset the batsmen with his pace and bounce. The bookies have jumped on the Seelar bandwagon after his bowling performance against the Windies but I don't think the pitch will suit him, Bukhari is the best pace bowler for the Netherlands and is a juicy price at 5/1. Kallis is Kallis and is due a score, whilst also has the insurance of batting at 3 so will have a chance even if the €Netherlands bat first and are skittled. Zuiderent is abit more of a gamble but, my thinking is he will hopefully be protected from the pacemen and come in at a stage of the innings where the spinners are on and he can rebuild. At 9/1 in a weak batting line up and on a fast track i'm happy. Top bats- Zuiderent 9/1 Bet365 @1.5 point Kallis 4/1 PaddyPower @ 1.5 point Top Bowlers- Bukhari 5/1 Coral @ 1.5 point Morkel 7/2 Coral @ 1.5 point Canada v Pakistan match Surkari battedwell in the last game and comes in at 6/7 with a license to play his shots, the top order is bang out of form and frail, so an aggressive scorer will have a chance to score quickly before getting out! Akmal has been in good form, scoring quickly after one of the openers have thrown their wicket away. I can't back a batsman outside the top three due to the risk of chasing down a low total. Balaji took 4 wickets in the last match against Zimbabwe and bowled very well against Sri Lanka as well. Without their injured paceman, he looks the only bowler with any wicket taking ability with his big turn and flight - the odds are way out of line!!! Both bowlers Akhtar and Riaz are in form, only one will play, so I have taken both and the other will be voided. Gul looks a little out of sorts and doesn't open the bowling - which is the best time against this awful batting line up - Razzaq rarely bowls all 10 overs so one of these will look to make inroads into the batting line up as well as mop up the tail with their extra pace. Their odds are again big! Top bats Surkari 1.5points@ 8/1 Skybet K.Akmal 1.5 points @ 9/2 Blue SQ Top Bowlers Balaji Rao 1.5 points 9/2 @ Sportingbet W.Riaz 1.5 points 5/1 @ Sportingbet S.Akhtar 1.5 points 9/2 @ Sportingbet

  10. Re: Cricket - Top batsmen and bowlers Yeah sorry grex pushed for time - home late from work, feeding, bathing and putting kids to bed now have 6 aside footy! Will try and post reasoning if I have time but I'm doubtful I will. Big mac, haven't looked too much into the each way as value is a key factor of this to allow for a lower strike rate. I think it's an interesting point and will do some testing; I know kevshat has success with this, however the majority of my selections are between 7/2 and 6/1 so prices like cusack are not the norm, but certainly worth looking into!

  11. Re: Cricket - Top batsmen and bowlers Cheers Faxy Fowler - bad day today, but they are always going to happen at some point or other. Stakes will raise tomorrow after a loss of 3 points today! Sanga came in too late, waters was hopeless and yet again a bowler took 6 wickets to upstage my selection - awesome stuff Malinga!

  12. Re: Cricket - Top batsmen and bowlers Sorry phone wouldn't let me scroll down. waters top kenya bat @ 9/2 bluesq He's a classy operator and in a very weak batting line up, I will back an opening batsman at 9/2 who plays county cricket on good batting wickets like this one. Murali top Sri lankan bowler @ 7/2 1 point bet365 I'm sorry but I just can't let this price go for a player of his caibre against sub standard, outclassed oposition. On a wicket that will not suit the pacemen, I expect Murali to bamboozle the kenyans.

  13. Re: Cricket - Top batsmen and bowlers Bank now stands at 110.25 so steadily rising - I'm on my phone but will post excel table when I'm next on my computer. Batsmen sangakarra top bat Sri lanka - 1 point @ 4/1 stan James He is in form, will bat at 3 and will score quickly. Dilshan qualifies on form but his odds rule him out. My only concern would be if Kenya get skittles out and Sanga doesn't get enough time at the crease but I will take my chances. Waters top Kenyan bat - 1 point 9/2 @

  14. Re: Cricket - Top batsmen and bowlers Thanks Grex for your kind words, I was a lurker on your short priced faves thread and followed your tips! You should consider bringing it back. Judging by your pic I guess u were a fan during the glory days - i remember watching match of the 70's on BBC and man u were pretty awesome back then. I'm an Exeter fan ;) enjoyed the fa cup matches a few years ago! early days but the system seems to be following my back testing pattern - regarding higher strike rate of bowlers and better prices with batsmen! The strike rate is pretty consisent and the prices have ensured decent profit and roi, within expected rates. Long may it continue.

  15. Re: Cricket - Top batsmen and bowlers Another day of profit for this thread! Seelaar bowled beautifully to win his bet and also unlucky to see Benn take 3 wickets but then for Roach to take 4 wickets in 6 balls- great bowling!!! Neither of the batsmen came close! Still a profit of 2 points not to be sniffed at, will update table and tomorrows selections later!

  16. Re: Cricket - Top batsmen and bowlers Top batsmen Kervezee, Netherlands top bat - 1 point @ 11/2 Bet 365 He has come into this tournament on the back of a good season dowmestically for Worcestershire where he impressed consistently. He is one of only 3 true class batsmen in my opinion for Holland and as the other two are 3/1 and below, I will take this extra value, especially as he will open and have first use of the new ball on what should be a batsman friendly wicket. Darren Bravo, Windies top bat - 1 point @ 9/2 Will Hill He did the business for me in their first match and I have no reason to back anyone else. He has the same price, will bat at 3 and is in top form currently! Not much more to add. Top Bowlers Seelaar, Netherlands top bowler - 1 point @ 5/1 Bet365 I was impressed with Seelaar against England and his spin will suit the wicket and hopefully snare some of the Windies batsmen who will look to score quickly off of him. RTDoeschatte is way too short a price for his bowling so I'm delighted to get odds of 5/1. Benn, Windies top bowler - 1 point @ 7/2 Will Hill Simple again, he is the Windies most consistent and talented bowler and will find conditions and batsmen to suit him.
