  1. Re: Cricket: Pakistan vs South Africa - 2xTwenty20s & ODI Series 08 Nov 2010 - Pakistan v South Africa - 5th ODI - Total Match Boundaries Under (38.5) @*5/6 6 points - really fancy this bet! This line hasn't been covered in the previous two matches at this stadium. Only 23 I think scored in the third. Odi and 36 in the fourth and that was a high scoring match. The pitch is slow with three games in quick succession, the outfield is very big and the bowling is pretty decent. The addition of youssef strengthens the bet as is millar being dropped. Shame about akmal returning but you can't have it all.

  2. Re: Cricket: England vs Pakistan - Twenty20 & ODI Series All bets for 1st match only- ajmal v akhtar most wickets - saeed ajmal @ 5/6 2 points will hill the ground suits spin and ajmal is a tasty t20 bowler - almost guaranteed to bowl full 4 overs and has been on top of englands batsman at times with his variations. Shaoib is getting old has had very little match practice and is capable of going for big runs if he gets it wrong which could mean him not bowling his full quota- injuries are not out of the question either top Pakistan bowler - ajmal 7/2 hills - 2 points as mentioned earlier, pitch, form and lack of aamer and asif offers good value here top England bowler / swann 11/4 - hills 2 points best England bowler in t20 world cup, wicket will suit him and he usually picked up a wicket or two in every match so tied option is a good insurance - consistency and quality will pay! Under 8.5 match sixes - 5/6 hills - 4 points this wasn't covered in any of the t20 matches taking place int the friends provident competition here. Obviosly we have better batsmen on show today but we also have quality bowlers. Conditions will be overcast, and suiting spin, the ropes are normally a long way out as well. Some of the pakistanis come into this match undercooked and our line up looks weaker then the one on show in the world cup. This could obviously be cleared by big hittersbut like kieswetter, akmal, Morgan , colly, afridi, razaaq eetc, but I see bolwers being on top and keeping this line unders under 34.5 boundaries - 5/6 will hill 4 points same reasoning as above also again in fpt20 comp only once was this cleared with 29 being the next best and low 20's being the norm. This ground usually has scores below 140 and the overhead conditions combined with slow wicket, big boundaries suggest unders. Final one - first engand batting delivery to be a dot ball - evens 2points kieswetter has been very watchful of his first over in recent times before unleashing the big shots. Davies is playing his first international for a while , will he want to be silly from first ball - prob not, usually like a few balls first when he bats for Surrey. Lumb was the real aggressor in the world cup with a strike rate around 200. This bet is obviously a bit risky with a loose delievery/ wide or no/ ball :rollin:$ potentially ruining it, but with the batsmen whover takes strike, I think will look to leave or defend. Good luck everyone- I just feel the bookies have gone high on these lines and not taken some other factors into consideration

  3. Re: Cricket: England vs Pakistan - Test Series Gone for a few here - 2 points - Ali top Pakistan bat 1st innings 5/1 this fella looked pretty decent against Aussies and was actually very unlucky with not referring his first dismissal and was marginay out second innings. He is young and talented and capable of scoring runs at a decent price for a number three. His mind hopefully won't be scrambled as he wasn't really at fault in the first test and I'm hoping youthful exulberance combined with his teammates ineptitude will bring home the money. Kp not to score a half century 4/6 - 3 points will hill same as in first test I saw nothing to make me change my mind and with the quality of pakistans bowlers bowling hostile stuff, I feel kp may fall foul of a loose shot before he can reach 50. 2 points - Finn top England bowler first innings 7/2 will hill I see this as a 3 horse race due to swann being unlikely to bowl too much in the first innings. That in itself brings in a nice price, however I also feel that conditions will be so ideal for him. I don't see it swinging like at trent bridge and this will weaken andersons edge. So realistically I think it will suit Finns nagging line and length and sharp rising deliveries. 4 points draw - 5/2 the weather forecast is pretty poor for the test match. It looks like there will definately be regular breaks in play and bad light will inevitably come into play as well in such conditions. I feel that Pakistan can't get much worse and with butt much better than he showed in the last test match and less swing we could have a more balanced game. I feel England will be on top but their odds are way too short for me with weather forecast taken into account. Additionally if a declaration is required we have proven that we are very conservative and may bat too long setting a huge score and wasting valuable time. It may not come into play but is a possible plus if it does. If it hadn't been for the outcome in the last test I'm pretty sure we would be looking at a price of around 13/8 for the draw, so 5/2 is a great price for me here. Goodluck everyone for your bets.

  4. Re: Athletics: European Championships 27 July - 1 Aug

A.Bekele to win Womens 5000m, 3pts @ 3/1 Bet365 3 Turks in the final and Abeylegesse is the fav, having taken the 10,000m earlier in the week. Bekele's main rivals here are her teammate and the Portuguese athlete Jessica Augusto. However, both of those might be feeling the effects off their 10,000m exertions so I'd prefer the fresher Bekele. Is pretty quick too, accomplished at shorter distances and I feel she may just have the finishing kick to take this.
:clap:clap:clap Great shout, i logged on too late to follow any other choices, but liked your reasoning about this girl and followed. cheers, top shout!
  5. Re: Super League 24 & Co Op Championships

Wire/Saints..Is there a better team sport when it's played like that? Could well be the Challenge Cup Final too.:clap Huddersfield -6 2nd half h'cp @ 10/11 whill. A gift. Wakie missing influential players, and have conceded 90odd in last few games. Have capitulated in the second stanza in recent aways, incl' shipping 34 & 36. Giants a good 2nd half outfit, and only the Saints, Wire and HKR have bettered them in 2nd half football. Still in with a shout of that coveted 4th spot, and would fancy them to go for the kill against a disjointed Wakefield. The -12 about them also very very good value, as is the juicy 2/1 for -20. I've had a speculative punt at winning margins of 41+ @ 8/1 PP and 51+ @ 14/1 laddies. Hoping for dryish conditions,
:clap crystal ball!!! Amazing calls, well done mate and cheers for the excellent tips :cheers
  6. Re: Cricket: England vs Pakistan - Test Series 29 Jul 2010 - England v Pakistan - 1st Test Match - Not Score A Fifty Kevin Pietersen @ 4/6 willhill- 3 points pieterson is undercooked having not played any cricket since the odi's against Australia. He is so talented and obviously very capable of a fifty, but with overcast swinging conditions, coupled with his lack of cricket and in particular first class cricket and also the qulaity of aamer, asif, gul and kaneria there are some factors backing the 'no half century'.

  7. Re: Cricket: Friends Provident Twenty 20 Thanks wanderer89 ;) everything came together for that bet! From the moment there was that calamitous second ball run out, they were always struggling. Great call on unders for first wicket as well fishy :clap easy! I'm disappointed with the semi final draw, notts were the ones to avoid. Although with pollard to return here's hoping to go one step further than last year!

  8. Re: Cricket: Friends Provident Twenty 20 Yeah very overcast and breezy here! Wind is blowing against the short boundary which is a good omen! Ben Phillips looks like he is fit, bowling at good pace! There is the odd light drizzle in the air but we will get a full game in I think! I desperately hope you are wrong kev, pollard is a blow but surely Somerset will be too strong for northants. Toss is happening now.... Northants bat first (they won) should be good as long as we get one of the openers early on! Should be a cracker!

  9. Re: Cricket: Friends Provident Twenty 20 Not much value around today- some short prices have ruled out some of my favourite bets. 27 Jul 2010 - Somerset v Northants - Total Match Sixes Under (10.5) @ 5/6 The general rule of thumb for Somerset is bat second and chase. I also think northants will prefer to set a target so we could have an irrelevant toss. If Somerset do bat second that rules ou them going he'll for leather and setting a huge total. Northants have had some good big hitting from sales and vaas but I just feel Thomas and Phillips (if fit) should have the measure of them. Conditions are also far from ideal and due to be muggy and overcast, which should let the ball do a bit! The Taunton pitch is changing and in the forecast conditions I would be surprised to see a run fest. I was at the last home t20 vs Kent in similar overcast conditions and having reduced them to 140 odd all out it seemed a formality, but the ball did a bit and nobody could hit boundaries let alone sixes. Whilst I hope for a few more runs today, I just think conditions, the quality of Thomas and karthik in being economical and the loss of a huge hitter in pollard will keep this below the line.

  10. Re: Cricket: England vs Pakistan - Test Series 29 Jul 2010 - England v Pakistan - Batsman Total Series Runs - Jonathan Trott Total Series Runs Over (284.5) @ 5/6 will hill 4 points trott has secured himself the number 3 position which guarantees him plenty of time at the crease and more importantly time to play his patient natural game. He is an occupier of the crease but gives himself every opportunity to play himself in then score big. Englands opening pair are a solid and succesful combination so they should more often than not protect him from the new ball and aamer. When weighing up this bet I feel that trott has every chance of hitting at least one century which leaves us requiring 185ish from 7 innings. Given the fact that trott scores big centuries we could easily see a score of around 150 which would reduce the remaining runs required to 130 or a required average innings of 20 in the other 7 bats. He would require an average of around 35 to clear this line and when you consider his big innings potential and the fact that he rarely gives his wicket away being flashy, I think we have a good bet here.:hope

  11. Re: Cricket: Friends Provident Twenty 20 Glad he played well! He's a talent! Nice one for hamps qualifying; I'm off to somersets match tomorrow! Fingers crossed I will be joining you at the rose bowl kev ;) bit concerned at the loss of pollard though, fingers crossed cameron White will play , not a bad replacement but we will miss pollards bowling! Thought notts had stuffed up the match but they pulled it back well! Nice call kev, didn't put any money on that match couldn't find any decent top bat prices and couldn't split the two teams. Also weather concerned me Can't see lancs doing much tomorrow although Essex will miss kaneria! Should be another great day of cricket!

  12. Re: Cricket: Friends Provident Twenty 20 Good luck kev - great work in the darts by the way! I completely agree with your Hampshire to win thinking - trottisin will hills top batting odds - I can't help thinking the odds of 11/10 reflect their thinking he will play? I'm very happy to take hamps at better than evens! I've gone for two top bats our old favourite barker! He is 8/1 again (now been reduced to 7/1by will hill)and with no trott, really should bat at 3! This is exceptional value for somone who has scored good runs for warks the other is vince @ 5/1 I have mentioned my reasoning before so will keep it short but the lad is quality!
