  1. Re: Australian Open 2014

Advice please I hope I'm allowed to ask for advice on this forum. I have a bet on Wawrinka to win the Australian Open at 66/1. I can currently lay it off at Betfair at 3/1. I was wondering if the price is likely to better or worse than 3/1 after Nadal/Federer match has concluded. So should I take the 3/1 now or wait. Thanks in anticipation.
I think it depends who gets through to the final If Nadal gets through I think the price will be better If Federer gets through it may be better Personally I would wait until nearer the start time or monitor price from end of second semi final Good call to back Wawrinka early on at 66-1! There may be some other opinions on here from the guys who have been posting a lot during tournament
  2. Re: Man U v Fulham > 26 March

    There was only one game with Over 4.5 goals in the entire 4 divisions this weekend, an unlikely one at that, Derby 3 -Palace 2 Surely there has to be one more lurking somewhere ? 1st Div Prem : 1 x 3-1, 1 x 1-3, all the rest Under 3.5 2nd Div Champ : 1 x 3-1, 1 x 3-2, 1 x 2-2, all the rest Under 3.5 3rd Div : Every game Under 2.5 !!! Astonishing 4th Div : 1 x 4-0, 1 x 2-2, all the rest Under 3.5 Across the entire 4 Divisions : Only 2 x 0-0 and they were the first to kick off : Fri Macc v Barnet, Sat : Chelsea v Tott
Dont want tp split hairs but i think there were 3 other 0 0 ; s in english divisions at weekend. :ok
  3. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 14-16 January West Brom v Norwich Prem League 3pm IMO Lay of the day are West Brom today. Lay them at 2.06 Betfair You can then back 3 correct score winning bets for West B rom as cover. Eg - 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 or others if you think they are more likely. Hence covering more possible outcomes here you have covered a Norwich win & a draw plus 3 possible outcomes of a West Brom win. Betting is all about narrowing your liabilities. There is no way that i would be backing West Brom at 2.06 with a home record of P9, W2, D2, L6 scored 7, conceded 12. Norwich beat QPR last away game then previously drew away at Everton & Wolves going ahead in both these games. Good Luck all! :ok

  4. Re: England > FA Cup 3rd round > Fri 6/1- Mon 9/1 Arsenal v Leeds FA Cup Third Round Heres a stat for you. Arsenal home league games played this season 10. Out of those 10 games, 8 were draws at half time. Out of those 8 Arsenal went on to win 5, draw 2 & lose 1. The 2 games where Arsenal lead at half time were against West Brom & Swansea. Home games in Carling Cup were draws too at half time i think against Shrewsbury & Man City. If Leeds are a bit short of first choice team then maybe they will be happy to defend early on then get to half time with the tie still in the balance. Maybe worth a look ay HT - draw FT - Arsenal @ 4-1 Betfair. Good Luck all! :ok

  5. Re: England > Barclays Premier League > 2-4 January

Can someone tell me why Man Utd are getting backed in this match' date=' other than they have to win this. Do they have their bigger players back from injury?[/quote'] According to BBC Sport Rooney should be back after it was alleged that he was dropped for Blabkburn game for breach of club discipline. Also it says that Ferdinand & Smalling could return, nothing confirmed as yet although Sky Sports News may have more info. Stats wise United havent lost to Newcastle since 2001, thats 19 games, winning 15 & drawing 4 of those. Utd have only conceded 3 away goals all season & it seems that if Ferdinand & Smallling are back to keep Ba quiet then you cant see too many other likely Newcastle scorers. Ferguson usually gets a response from his team after a setback. I think they have gone on to win each time after a defeat this season.
  6. Re: England > Barclays Premier League > 2-4 January

dont they take a hugh chunk out of your winnings
Initially they take 5% of any winnings but the more you win the less the percentage. They have by far the best value though on most markets compared to other sites IMO. Regarding tonights matches there havent been any draws in this round of games since 31st December. How about backing both matches to be draws. You only need 1 to make a profit. Stranger things have happened over the festive fixtures! Bolton are fighting for their lives. No team needs motivating when Man Utd come to town. Good Luck all! :ok
  7. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 30 Dec-1 Jan

another annoying weekend for me, predicted the draws for both the swansea and norwich games but bet way too much money on the chelsea game due to the short odds and just ended up evens - finding it difficult to get past my inital depost amount - just keep yo-yoing up and down on it!
Its not all bad, there are always plenty of games just round the corner!! Maybe you should narrow down the number of bets you place on any given day. Try studying all the info / stats taking your own opinions into consideration before placing any bets & then only bet on what you are confident on winning. This is not always reliable as we have seen today with Man Utd & Chelsea but personally i would never back any heavy favourites in any situation & i am sure many people on here would agree with that. Everyone has their own way of betting, personally i prefer to lay something rather than bet on something individually but thats just my way, you just need to find what is comfortable for your situation. It is possible to build a healthy bank with disciplined betting. Hope this helps a little! Good Luck for 2012!! :ok
  8. Re: England > Midweek > Barclays Premier League > 20-22 December Head to Head Stat at White Hart Lane 6 out of the last 9 league meetings between Spurs & Chelsea at White Hart Lane have ended under 2.5 goals. If both Lennon & Bale are missing Spurs will go for a narrower midfield which could lead to a midfield stalemate, especially with Chelsea strong in the centre of midfield. Limited space for Modric to influence the play in the last third. I think both teams will be a little cautious to start with as neither team will want to lose this game going into the upcoming hectic Christmas schedule. Good Luck all! :ok

I would prefer to bet on Wigan, but this time I will go for a better choice, 2 or 3 goals in the match! 2 or 3 goals @ 1.95 with Bet365

Why do you bother to post you...eh..."predictions"? Is that how you call it? You bet on 2-3 goals on every match in almost every thread. This is not punting..this is gambling. You know f*ck all about footy and just taking you chances with 2-3 goals. :puke
Ouch!!! Harsh but fair, harsh but fair!!! :ok
  10. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Nov 14-15

Finished 1 nil Hemel! Great tip, thanks Ship :). Will definitely be reading these threads from now on! I had £200 on the double chance pre game, then another £70 in-play. They missed a penalty in the 40th minute though, would have saved me the £70 i put on in the second half. Cant complain with £730 though.
Well done on the big win!! :ok I havent had so much fun for ages watching to see if the bet came good! Great tipping shipsupstreets & addpea. I have only just discovered the non league info as usually bet on leagues 1 & 2. Its good to know there is a wealth of knowledge out there. I will keep an eye on these threads from now on. Make sure you spend / invest your winnings wisely ecosse!! :ok
  11. Re: International Friendlies > November International Friendly Denmark - Sweden Evening all! Has anyone got any team news or info on the above match? No love lost between these two usually. I know friendlies can be a bit of a minefield betting wise. Thinking that this should be fairly competitive because of the previous matches. Just wondered if they were going to field strong starting line ups? Any info much appreciated. Good Luck all! :ok

  12. Re: England: Johnstone's Paint Trophy Nov 8-9

quick one before work sheffield united -1 ah 3/5 bet365 sheffield united even if they dont put out a half full team should beat bradford with ease, bradford have alot of injury worries and im sure will be concentrating on staying in league football rather than the JPT. can see it being a hammering but just incase i have taken the asian line, so a win by just one goal returns stakes goodluck :hope
Just a word of warning about Bradford. They beat Huddersfield in the last round, albeit on pens, but they were 2 up at one point i seem to remember. Anything can happen in the cup especially in English cup competitions. Good Luck all! :ok
  13. Re: Scotland » Irn-Bru Divisions » Oct 22 Scottish League 2 Post I read on a post here couple of weeks ago about the bookies pricing up lower league matches wrong & certain people looking for value in these leagues. I think Stenhousemuir - Brechin has been priced wrongly & there is value in the home team. With a 100% home record with for 10 & against 3 goals record, 9 pionts ahead of their visitors you would expect them to be 1.8 - 1.9. They are 2.16 Betfair. This is good value IMO i am on the home team. Any locals with team news much appreciated. Good luck all! :ok

  14. Re: Npower Football League Two Oct 8 :ok

Torquay looks like nice bet @3.00 They were not easy to beat this season, and against out of sorts Bradford they should have decent chances to take all 3 points. Torquay are actually one of better travelers in league, and their enormous number of draws at home so far (4 out of 6 games) kept them in the middle of the table.
I will be backing Bradford today! Any team that goes to Huddersfield & gets a result is heading in the right direction (granted it was only JP Trophy, but local pride at stake too) Add that to last weekends spirited draw away to unbeaten at home Burton & i feel that Bradford represents value at 7-5 Betfair. This is why this forum gives an open view on games as everyone has their own opinion! Fingers croseed mine is correct today! Good Luck all!
  15. Re: England > Weekend > League 2 > 30 Sept-1 Oct

im starting my weekend bets of wiith this..... Think the bookies have this one wrong... Burton(2.18) home to Bradford is a must take bet..... Burton undefeated at home this season(w3-d2-l0) play bradford who havent won an away game(w0-d2-l3) i think Burton will depend alot on home form this season and Bradford are leaking goals for fun(although they seem to be scoring in most games, just not enough) Burton 23/20 WillHill Burton HT/FT 23/10 WillHill Bradford 5 scored 9 conceded. BTTS 3/4 VC Justin Richards firstgoal - 11/2 Skybet (joint top scorer in the league, scored 7 - 5 have been first in the match) expect prices to drop before the weekend Burton had 2 defenders sent off in their away defeat to Gillingham (Austin and Webber). Still cannot see Bradford getting anything from this game - Prediction 3-1 :hope
Agree totally with the comments above. Looking at table & stats you would expect Burton to be priced around the 1.9 mark so IMO anything above evens is good value. I always look for value in teams rather than trying to back heavy favourites, this represents value for me. Burton scored 7 conceded 3 at home, Bradford scored 5 conceded 9 away. I am on Burton 11/10 Betfair. Good Luck all! :ok
  16. Re: UEFA Europa League > Wednesday 15th December

I'll tell you quite honestly, it's a gamble. As I said above, Dortmund was the better team. They dominated all five encounters, but didn't manage to score against their main rivals Sevilla and PSG. I honestly can't tell if it's a matter of luck, pressure or inexperience. But I don't think it's a question of quality, since they've shot plenty of goals in the league and are close to a record amount of points to the winter break. Considering the previous results, they shouldn't go beyond a draw here. Then again, it's not normal for them to dominate three games and shoot one lousy goal (a pg at that). Perhaps it's plain obvious, but if they start shooting goals, they can win. Sevilla otoh must be under massive pressure too, overall poor season, five losses in a row and could easily drop out of Europe tonight. Should be a good game either way.
    Dortmund 1 up already!! :loon
  17. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 20th October

Agree totally with this one so much so that I am taking Valencia -2 hc available at 9/1 with WillHill Watched Valencia against Barca lost 2-1 but played superbly well and could consider themselves a lil unfortunate not to come away from the Nou Camp with something against a full strength Barca. I think we may well see something similar to what Sevilla acheived at Ibrox last season. This is a game that is important to both sides and Rangers need three points here if they are seriously looking to progress through the group. Valencia are a team that can hurt Rangers here. They play 4-5-1 system without the ball as soon as they are in possession they change to 4-3-3 in an instant with Mata and Pablo Hernandez joining up with the front man from out wide. Mata and Hernandez are classy players both in the Spanish National set up they ooz speed, directness and precision passing and thrive in these sorts of games where they are given freedom to express themselves when in possession breaking forward. I think they will prove to be a real handful for Rangers in this game, being too clever, quick and sharp for Rangers rear guard. I think this one will end up being a widely open game and if Valencia score first as Rangers push for a goal themselves can see them being caught out time and again. Sevilla benefited last season to this effect and imo this Valencia team is a better counter attacking team again to Sevilla last season. They already trashed Bursaspor 0-4 on the road can see similar scoreline occuring of 0-3 or 0-4. Can not see past 3 points for Valencia and going to play this game as follows: Valencia -2 9/1 willhill 1/10 stakes Valencia -1 16/5 willhill 3/10 stakes Valencia 6/5 willhill 5/10 stakes :hope
Couldnt agree more with the above post. Valencia are a quality team in a quality league who play against quality opposition most weeks. Rangers are in good form you cant argue with their recent results in the league. In my opinion though the scottish league is far below the spanish league in standard. Valencia will want to get 3 points after their late loss at home to man utd. They were unlucky to lose this match & had man utd chasing the ball for much of the game. Rangers will find it hard to keep up a high tempo for 90mins & with the home crowd willing them to close down the opposition at all times i think they will tire from having to chase the ball & the game. I dont expect valencia to win by 3 or 4 but i can see a valencia win & think that 2.2 on betfair is good value. Good luck all! :ok
  18. Re: Champoins League Final - 27th of May - Barcelona v Man U Conratulations Barca, the best team won of that there is no doubt, maybe Man Utd didnt play very well but maybe Barca didnt let Man Utd play, just like Man Utd didnt let Arsenal play in the Semi Final. I backed Man Utd some correct scores so lost all my bets but i kind of guessed it would be that way as early as the 10th minute! Barca are worthy champions of europe, they play the beautiful game beautifully & Iniesta is a class act. Well done to all those on here who went against most on here & backed Barca! :ok

  19. Re: Champoins League Final - 27th of May - Barcelona v Man U Having watched both teams this season i feel that if Man Utd play to their full potential then they are good enough to beat Barca on the day. I think that Man Utd's midfield is full of energy & has the destructive ability to stop Barca from playing how they like & will frustrate them as the game goes on. Going forward i think that Man Utd have enough fire power to upset Barca especially from set pieces with Ferdinand, Vidic, Ronaldo & O'shea dangerourous from crosses. If Man Utd score early then i think they could go on & win by 2 or 3 goals as Barca will have to come out & leave gaps which will suit Man Utd on the counter attack with Ronaldo & Rooney. However i will throw this question into the equation, do you think the likes of Michel Platini & Sepp Blatter would like Man Utd to win the Champions League 2 years in a row or as i think they would like Barca to win as they play the more beautiful football in their opinion? Is there any mileage in such a game being open to certain decisions etc going in favour of Barca in order to attempt to influence the result in Barca's favour? I hope not but i do wonder, any thoughts welcome? Good Luck all! :ok

  20. Re: Euro U17 Championship, starts 06/05

Hi mate - yeah, it seems it's always just the two of us who follow these tourneys. Well, there is quite a lot of info on the uefa.com site, but hadly any really up-to-date. Spain coming here to defend the title again - it was the only country able to defend it in the history of the championship (they would logically be the first to retain the title second time around). The tourney is played in Germany and according to the site the final is already almost sold out. So expect the German side to do well (as they do in all categories on the international level, btw.
Apologies Tulenos for not being around during the tourney! Just started new job & unbelievably PL is blocked on internet policy!! Oh well i will have to catch up during the evenings from now on, but its not ideal for sure! Good Luck guys! :ok
  21. Re: Euro U17 Championship, starts 06/05 Hi Tulenos! Remember me from last seasons tournament in France! I had some success last year doing correct scores for the favoured team & if i can recall there werent many games where the favoured team scored 3 or more. I will try & scout the internet for some info but as was the case last year there wasnt much to go on except the bookies prices & watching the early games for form. Let me know if you find any info & i will do the same. Good Luck! :ok
