Re: Superusers and Silence: How UltimateBet let players get cheated for millions The commonly used argument for poker sites’ not cheating their customers, or allowing them to be cheated, is that they make can make far too much money legally, to even consider risking it.
That argument conveniently overlooks certain things. The first one is the Greed of the individuals involved, which in the case of certain individuals, obviously knows no bounds. The second is that the criminal will eventually be held to account, due to supposed regulation. The City of London Police versus Fallon and co, could learn something from this incident to see how evidence really should be represented and the depths that are needed to be gone through, to prove something beyond a reasonable doubt. Real expert witnesses, being one of them. The third and probably the most worrying of all is the blatancy. Now, I was never very good at charts and graphs at school but even I can see, from the plot that GAF put up, that there is an outlier. If the poker site and the authority that is supposedly regulating it, cannot pick up upon such a blatant example, then what chance do the customers have, of them recognising corruption that is done with more subtlety? I have no evidence that any site I have played on has ever cheated me. I don’t think my stakes would be worth it, but who knows, if there were a million of me? Nevertheless, to (effectively) rely on the Poker site’s regulating themselves’, due to the obvious inefficiency of the people who are actually supposed to be regulating them, when the Poker sites primary motive is to make as much money for themselves as possible, seems naïve in the extreme. -
Re: Betfred $1000 Freeroll (max 1000 Runners) Registration has just opened for the next one of these which takes place on friday. I think it now says 500 seats max for this one.

Re: PL Exclusive League with PokerKings - May dili123in, If you go to page 2 on the Poker Tourneys section, GAF put an explanation of what you can do under the "Online forum challenge on pokerkings" thread. Sorry, I don't know how to put a link up. Forgot to say, for the organisers, that my table name on Pokerkings is MrMarlin2u.

Re: Online Forum Challenge at PokerKings in May - PreRegistration open NOW I managed to download the software, at last, so I've pre regged tonight.

Re: The Curse of the Flying Dutchman Well done Rio, some great analysis and results there.

Re: Online Forum Challenge at PokerKings in May Oh, right. Thanks Gaf. I'm setting up a spare PC next week so maybe I will be able to enter.
-
Re: Online Forum Challenge at PokerKings in May I’ve played in one or two of these before in the PL team (and I seem to remember we were well outnumbered), but I’ve come up against the Boss 3 sites rule myself, this time, and support tell me there is no way round it. Best of luck to those of you who can play though.

Re: Pokerroom $100,000 WSOP Freeroll I’ve got a couple of tickets through these qualifiers, though heaven knows whether I will be able to use them.
The 12th May freeroll seems to already be full up with the maximum 4000 players and there is no sign, so far, of when entry starts for the others. They seem to fill up quickly. If I notice when entry is open for the next one I’ll post it up here. -
Re: Poker Trillion Issues Thanks for such a prompt reply.

Re: Poker Trillion Issues Hi Poker Trillion,
I received an email today from your risk and fraud manager asking that I email or fax scanned details of my credit card and something like a driving licence or passport to them ,which apart from the fact that I don’t have a scanner or fax, I’m not happy to do. Personally I think a company that wants to go down that security route should request these things before a deposit is even allowed, rather than make the request once they have processed the transaction and have hold of the money. What are the implications if I don’t send the items requested? -
Re: Blonde/Punters Lounge Poker Trillion Forum Challenge I've just downloaded the software , so I'll try and have a go at as many of these as possible. :ok

Re: The Curse of the Flying Dutchman Hi whoneedsrio,
This looks interesting. I’ve had an on and off interest in VDW’s writings for quite a while now. From what I recall VDW wrote that it does not always follow that a good thing shows from the preliminary investigation, which tends to suggest that sometimes they do. It will be interesting to see if your system can find them. Have you found your earnings rating to be more reliable than VDW’s ability rating then or are you still experimenting with it? Either way, best of luck with this. -
Re: Harrington on Cash Thanks for the replies. I didn’t realise it was an approximate percentage of hitting an out. Now it makes sense.
-
Re: Harrington on Cash Sorry if this may seem a stupid question, because I have only read Vol1 of the no limit Harrington books and I am a novice, but I don’t remember reading the rule of four or two.
If I have 9 outs with the turn and the river to come, so I multiply it by four to get 36, but then what do I do with that figure? Does it relate to pot size and size of bet I can afford to make/ call or whether I should continue playing my hand at all, because I have or don’t have enough chances of winning, or have I missed the point completely? -
Re: Pokerroom $40,000 Battle of the Forums I’d like to have a crack at this too if that’s ok.

Re: Handicap LTO winners Good luck with this. It looks an interesting system and it is doesn’t take long to find any qualifiers.

Re: Trouble in Paradise. Having watched "High Stakes" on You Tube (before most of it was removed). I very much doubt that there is a great deal of purity in a live game. A bunch of complicit animals ready and waiting to feed off of those who are not in the know and off of each other, or so it seemed to me. Poker heroes? I wouldn't trust any one of them.
-
Re: Trouble in Paradise. Sorry,I still don't understand. If online poker is truly a game of skill, which apparently it is. Then surely it should depend on the thought processes going through whatever is between a human persons ears , rather than through the posssibly flawed processes of whichever, possibly flawed, machine is connecting to any other, possibly flawed, machine? No purity of thought whatsoever, in my humble opinion.

Re: Trouble in Paradise. I'm sorry kippe6 I don't understand. Are you suggesting it was my own fault?
-
Re: Trouble in Paradise. LOL, OK, no worries. Best of luck to you.
-
Twice tonight I've been disconnected in an STT, both times to my financial detriment, not my fault at all and I've no idea how the hand's panned out. In the first instance I was reconnected with less chips than I had and in the second, a heads up game, I was not reconnected at all. My balance indicates that I lost, but I have no idea how. My questions to live help have met complete silence. I wasn't that keen on it when it was supposedly reliable,well.... reliable for me at least, because there were complaints from others. Now, it seems a complete joke of a site. Based on tonights evidence, why would anyone risk their own money on such an unreliable site?
