Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends It will be a bl00dy challenge for me as well... All I have so far is: http://www.pardubice-racecourse.cz/dostihy/119velka-pardubicka-ceske-pojistovny/startky.html There is some British interest in the Velka Pardubicka and I will probably have a little play on Charlie Mann's Mr Big. This had a recent warm-up race at Fontwell and could hold a chance in what is really a lottery. Thanks mate, Luther

Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends What's your Czech Jumps racing knowledge like jtw1..? I am off on the travels to Pardubice next week - there are a few Group races and the Velka Pardubika is a level weight race - should be easy..!!;) :gimme

Re: Windsor Mon eve 13th July Bowles, are you still planning on going to Windsor next Monday (20th July).? I am taking a few work colleagues along and have a 2-for-1 Grandstand ticket offer and could supply you with one if needed. Let me know. Cheers, Luther

Re: Windsor 29/6/09 (eve) Great shout there Stanley...!! Will be there on the 20th July and happy to front up a pint for that 365 balance enhancer. Thanks, Luther

Re: greyhounds card question? Xcode, (W) signifies that the dog is a Wide runner and (M) that it prefers to take a Middle course. The Grader will try and place the dogs in their preferred traps - (W) runners in 5 or 6 and (M) in traps 3 or 4.

Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends ... and class did prevail.. You have released me from the weekend's abyss (2.52 was available on Betfair). Well done mate - some spending money for your missus to use in the Rambles. Enjoy your break.

Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends You really are a decent bloke - I thought you were joking... Kamsin does look like the class act and Betfair have it available at 1.64 for small money (early days though, could drift and I'll have the Blackberry). Being the German Derby winner, you would imagine it will be a short price on track. There are thunderstorms predicted for Sunday so that could improve Tres Rapide's chances (hope the rain doesn't materialise though - I have only packed shorts)... It looks a great varied card over the 2 days with a hurdle and X-country race thrown in for good measure. A few winners, some steins, a couple of Overs in France, Fulham winning - weekend complete. Many thanks again for your efforts, Luther

Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends Well done me old mate... Thanks to you, I am going to make a profit on the day on the nags (a very rare occurrence).. ..and no, Ascot was another disaster - at least entry, food & drink were gratis.
-
Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends I'm at Ascot tomorrow mate on a corporate jolly... Will back yours and stun the other attendees with my racing knowledge. :hope Hopefully, Gothenburg will hold on and cover the costs of a few bets.

Re: Nina Carberry She virtually paid for our trip last year to Baden-Baden and saved the day at Navan in the bumper the last time I was there. I think she probably has me down as a stalker after getting her to sign the racecard and waffling on about Germany... But, in the long run, I am sure she has cost me money certainly this year after following her rides against the Mullins horses. Hope she is back at Baden again this year though...

Re: Newbury 17/4/09 Rarely have a strong view on the racing but had some time this week to look more closely and there is a horse today that is of interest. Sonny Red in the 2.40 has been highly tried by Richard Hannon over the last couple of years running mainly in Class 1 races over 6 furlongs (the last effort was over 7 furlongs) and from his record it looks as though he has become disenchanted with the game. All 3 of his wins have been over 5 furlongs on soft ground - the only time he has lost over 5 furlongs was in the Abbaye. Back into handicap company today over 5 furlongs in softish ground (more rain due). Have taken a chance that the move to Dandy Nicholls will have rekindled the enthusiasm and accepted Bet365's BOG offer of 14/1 e/w. Beware my racing betting form is rubbish...

Re: Dead heat odds ? It's correct - I've been caught on this one before. The ruling is that you are paid to half of your stake (not half of the odds) and you are only returned half the stake. Therefore you had €20 @ 7/4, which returns €55.

Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends "Can't help you for tomorrow mate as there ain't no Listed/Group races there so your best bet is to keep an eye out on the Daily thread for Windsor tomorrow if you have time . I'm afraid my brain fries itself after 2 mins of trying suss out a Handicap race and theres 4 of them tomorrow :eek Good luck and have a great day , been to Windsor a couple of times . Start off in the Weatherspoons , then a wee drink on the boat and into the track where things rapidly go downhill :loon:loon" Yes - not a hugely inspiring card but I like the fact they have put the Maiden at the end as in the old 'Pat Eddery (send-them-home-with-a- winning-favourite) Monday Evening days'.. I have lumped most of yesterday's winnings on FRENCH RIVIERA at 1.92 last night. Also have a decent bet on HEAVEN. Obvious choices but it saves too much study. I know the Wetherspoons well but unfortunately this a family outing, couple of car loads, kids, picnic and just a few beers (should tee me up nicely for the Football). Good luck with the Curragh selection.

Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends Excellent stuff JTW1 - 9/1 taken. My 1st winner following your thread and I would never had looked at the race/horse otherwise. That's the spending money for the trip to Windsor tomorrow. Take a look at the card for me mate..;) Thanks, Luther

Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends Managed to get the 11/4 - less 10p in the £ Rule 4 - so small profit on the day. Yes - the Coolmore boys (and Jim Bolger) have cleaned up this week.
-
Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends Good each-way profit at 17/2 though... Definitely doing better than my mis-placed selections. Avoid EDGE CLOSER, PROPONENT and HONOLULU later..

Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends Hi JTW1, And there was I believing that you had given up on the nags for good... I just cannot make money at the 4-legged game but if I am tempted back, it will be to follow your thread (love the stats approach and it is proving very successful). I quite fancied Borderlesscott today but your write-up will keep the money in the account.. All the best, Luther

Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends Livened up a Sunday afternoon JTW1... Gris de Gris was available at over 3.0 on Betfair for a short while before the race. Will look forward to reading the trends/selections for the Saturday Aintree meeting - I have won a couple of tickets. Thanks again mate..
