  1. Re: AFC Asian Cup (Australia) 2015 Just throwing out the idea of possible value in Oman? $9 for the win and $5 for the draw is overs for me. The last 7 games between the teams since Australia joined the Asian Federation have Australia 3 wins, Draw 3 times, Oman 1 win. They have always been a tough opponent. Australia has also lost Captain Jedinak for the game and Postecoglue is going to rotate the squad somewhat. For me of course Australia is favourites but I just think the price especially on draw is a good one, I certainly wouldnt be putting any of my money into Australia at $1.35 considering the experience of the team.

  4. Re: PokerStars Micromillions 17-27 July Playing Event #81 $5 PL Omaha 6max 2336 Entrants Currently 234/257 and in the money bubble was at 300. About to go out unless I pick up a few double ups. Was very soft I thought considering I have rarely played Omaha and had to check up on the rules and top starting hands before I played :lol

  5. Re: Tour De France Cycling 2014 > July 5th - 27th

Jurgen Van den Broeck was apparently held up in a crash so didn't lose any time yesterday. Still, that's twice in 3 days he has been on the ground, much like Van Garderen. Wouldn't be surprised if that shows at some point. Today is a day where I only wish to back riders for the break. After such hard racing, what is the point of chasing this break down if there is no GC threat in the break? It's not certain the break succeeds but it's a better than 50% chance IMO. Agree that this finish is for Purito, but I have been closely watching both he and Riblon as potential KoM bets (or top ups in Riblon's case). For mine neither are right and both are losing too much time and getting dropped too early to be in the kind of condition required to win today. Only my opinion of course but it wouldn't surprise me if Purito made the break and wasn't able to win it. Michael Albisini @ 29 Betfair Simon Spilak @ 46 Betfair Brice Feillu @ 80 Betfair Blel Kadri @ 120 Betfair Rein Taaramae @ 140 Betfair John Gadret @ 300 Betfair All riders who I think may look for the break and have a certain degree of climbing pedigree to potentially win from it. Also, because i believe there is a chance Spilak enters the break: Simon Spilak King of the Mountains @ 126 Bet365 - He's far enough down that he could fall into this competition with a high showing today.
    Lovely Crouch just lovely!!
  6. Re: Group B: Australia vs Spain - Mon 23rd June

DNB Australia @ 5.50 for a 0.20 stake Australia Over 1.5 Goals @ 4.00 for a 0.25 stake I expect a very uninterested Spain playing today. Of course they (still) are the WC champions, and EURO champions. They have nothing to prove, and there are signs of implosion there (Fabregas seething with Del Bosque, Piqué didn't like being benched). Physically they also look on shambles. Australia, even without Cahill, have shown some impressive attitude against Chile and Netherlands. I expect the same from them today, they will want to record a win against the current WC champions, which would be historic. For Spain, it is just another game...
Probably too late but just so you are aware, Sportingbet Australia are offering 6.00 on Australia for Over 1.5 goals.
  7. Re: Nigeria v Bosnia-Herzegovina > Saturday June 21st I missed the first half of the Nigeria v Iran game but was extremely disappointed in Nigeria in the second half. Nigeria's attack was made to look fairly average and in a game they would have known would be a must win if they were to get through the group stages. I've been dabbling in multis on a couple of sites offering money backs for missing a leg and increased percentage payouts and looking at tonights games as perhaps the first chance for all the favourites to come through. From watching Bosnia against Argentina, they created numerous good attacking opportunities and at times looked better than Argentina so I'm thinking against an average Nigerian side, they should be super hungry to take the points with only Iran to get past to make the next round. My head is telling me 1-0 or 2-0 here where they might shut up shop as they should then only need a draw to get through to the next round. I would love to hear any opinions of those who think Nigeria could get anything out of this game. Bosnia Win $1.91 @ Sportsbet

  8. Re: A League Season 2013/2014 Thanks everyone for participating in this seasons thread. My match day betting slowed down in the last few rounds as I was struggling for time to watch games with work! Rather no bet than guessing :) My season bets ended up at 29.71 Units from 20 Units bet. A good return thanks to Thomas Broich (Johnny Warren Medal winner 19/1). Disappointing results were Wellington for wooden spoon (3.75) who just missed out by two points thanks to a woeful Melbourne Heart. Also Melbourne bound Besart Berisha coming in for an each way pay out with 4th place in top goalscorer. Perhaps with some discipline and not getting 3 red cards during the short season, he would have had no troubles topping the scoring. Congrats to Brisbane, Premiers and Champions. Remember the inaugural FFA Cup is in full swing having started with 660 clubs it is nearing the final 32. There may be some value to be had :-) And even though we have no chance...CMON AUSTRALIA at the World Cup.

  9. Re: Group B - Chile v Australia > Friday June 13th Australia plays second last friendly tonight against South Africa before jetting off to Brazil. Of course I will be supporting my country but from a betting perspective I just cannot see us getting anything from these games. With another defender in Curtis Good now injured, our depth is horrendously worrying. At this stage it looks like the back pairing will be Spiranovic and McGowan. These guys are quality defenders in their respective leagues (Australia and China) but against far superior opposition I am very worried. Too early for game predictions yet but I was surprised by the opening price for Chile!

  10. Re: A League Season 2013/2014 Good thinking Toto. I am also suprised at the longer odds. I would have thought Adelaide should be somewhere around the same as Brisbane price v Wellington. Much like I predicted Adelaide to beat Brisbane HT/FT there is some value there in Wellington for the brave but I think Brisbane are going to cover Wellington. Once again, history between these sides is completely different with Wellington still only having 2 wins against us in 20ish games. Berisha being out suspended of course isn't ideal but potentially a good thing so there won't be distraction for the team after his mid week signing for Melbourne. Wellington have two of their best players form wise out and I dont think they will be able to break down Brisbane without Cunningham and Hernandez. I'm not going to take a bet as there has been too much drama with Brisbane this week, their home form hasn't been good and Wellington coming off their 5-0 rout of Melbourne but predict Brisbane 2-0. Great value in Adelaide I can't really say anything more than what Toto has said great breakdown of the game mate!

  11. Re: A League Season 2013/2014 Wellington giving Melbourne an absolute plastering atm. A pleasure to watch! Lockscombi I'll attempt to list them for you! Adelaide - Neuman/Cirio Brisbane - Berisha/Petratos Central Coast - Every man and his dog. Terrible penalty takers. McBreen is usually first to step up but has a horrible conversion rate. Melbourne Heart - Harry Kewell/David Williams Melbourne Victory - James Troisi/Archie Thompson Newcastle - Emile Heskey Perth Glory - Shane Smeltz Sydney - Del Piero Wellington - Hernandez/Huysegems Western Sydney - (Completely unsure. I presume it is either Aaron Mooy or whichever striker is on the field) This is just what I think from my knowledge of the teams I havent looked anything up so I might have one wrong!

  12. Re: A League Season 2013/2014

After two fairly poor games last night today should be a brilliant day for A League football! The derby tonight and the two most attractive football teams in the comp playing each other! Both games look like bankers to some but I think there is certainly value on the away teams. Adelaide have been playing great football and even with their injuries you never know what they will be able to produce. Gombau will be going for a win no doubt, he has absolutely nothing to lose. Meanwhile, Brisbane's formation is going to be tinkered with. Mulvey is supposedly going to play Berisha on the left and leave Broich in the middle of the park! Last time Brisbane played this formation I recall it was unsuccessful. Another factor, the Suncorp pitch. Although it has helped poorer teams such as Newcastle against us, it should have the same effect on Brisbane and Adelaide's passing games if not in the best condition. Brisbane should win the game no doubt but I just cant go past some of the odds available. Brisbane like conceding early goals at home even if they do come back to win. I don't ever really bet against Brisbane but I'm going to have a speculative 1 unit on Adelaide HT/FT @ $17 (Sportsbet).
:nana:clap Not happy my team lost but got the consolation! No bet for me this afternoon I haven't been following Mariners games enough to make a judgement! Wellington have been playing solid though if they can take their chances!

Derby is a different game and both teams usually step up. Sydney ok I keep banging on about their horrible defence but they have still managed to get some results this year and not a bad position on the table. If they can defend and get some Del Piero magic who knows? Odds are too high again, even Heart weren't paying this much against the Wanderers. 1 Unit Sydney HT/FT $13 (Sportsbet). If anyone is feeling really lucky these can be combined for a multi of $221 :lol Good luck enjoy the games!

    Adelaide v Sydney Adelaide Win 1 Unit $1.95 @ Bet365 :puke Over 2.5 $1.83 @ Pinnacle :nana
Hilarious. I choked on my sushi roll when Sydney scored that 2nd goal. Unbelievable! My disdain for Sydney is massive. Here they are playing a team with no strikers left... top 4 or 5 players out and they luckbox their way into a draw. In fairness, both Sydney goals were very poor defending from Adelaide!
